alexis abner: A friend and I got dip mani and gel pedis. My nails were dried with a fan and then a few nails got smudged. The person looked at them, scoffed and didn’t fix them. My friend picked a red color, but they did pink instead. Color selection was very slim. I did not receive a thorough pedi either, but the kicker is when we went to pay I was charged more than my friend and we did the exact same thing. I tipped accordingly, but did not feel the person deserved it. I will never go back nor would I recommend this place.

At least 2 of the pedicure chairs didn’t work properly (wouldn’t move forward one wouldn’t turn on) I was initially told to sit in a broken seat that they clearly knew was broken as it didn’t have a towel over the foot rest. However, I had an especially unfortunate experience at this salon really only because of one individual - who I am assuming might be the owner. She was a fairly young lady with dark hair, spoke great English, and had more sass than anyone I have ever met. She rushed my friends and I from the moment we walked in even though we made reservations beforehand. The other technicians, including the girl who did my nails, were incredibly sweet and took their time. They did a great job.My nail technician was young with reddish-blonde hair. I would go back again if I was guaranteed that she’d be running the place. Unfortunately I will not be going back. I spend money to go the salon to feel relaxed and taken care, and at least spoken to kindly.I was on edge the entire time because of one girl and her very intense, uncalled-for attitude and demeanor. It is sad but true that one individual with an incredibly poor attitude can truly make or break your entire salon experience.

Amanda Kennedy: I used to love going to this place. It was worth the effort of scheduling online and waiting for a technician. Part of that was you were treated like a guest and like your business really mattered. Now I am lucky if I'm asked if I would want a water or anything, and I feel like I'm rushed looking through colors. I legitimately don't know what happened to this place in the last three months but when I have a nail person roughening my skin and then just using cuticle oil and leaving it there for me to spread, as well as not even properly trying to shape the nail so they're similar? Nah. I'll go elsewhere. I'm so disappointed because this place was 5 stars for so long and was the only reason I went here. The staff seems to have vanished and the technicians seem to not even want to try to keep minimal conversation going. I'm saddened but I'll go elsewhere if I want to feel like a hindrance and at least get my hands lotioned. For $45 for a dip that looks minimal quality and wasn't even asked if I liked it? Nah. The manager Ricky showed a lack of professionalism, emotional control and class. I came in to have my nails done with dip powder. I requested to have my nails done in a sheer or translucent shade. An older lady with glasses and a young lady(approximately 12) Begin trying to find me a shade to suit my request. The young lady offered me shimmery shade that on the clear nail appear to be more sheer and not opaque. As the older lady began doing my nails I noticed that she dipped it several times and it wasn’t coming out as smooth as Andrea and a younger male had done many other times before. She must begin looking at my face and asked me if I liked it I told her it didn’t look as sheer as I thought and the young lady came over and and asked me if I liked as well I asked her if she thought it looked in sheer and she replied no. While this is happening The owner Ricky, comes over and asked what’s the problem. I’m thinking he’s talking to his workers not me so I continue to look down. Then I see that he’s addressing me and telling me that I chose the color and I would have to reschedule if I want my nails redone.I’m stunned because first it hasn’t even gotten to that point everyone kind of just was looking at my nails to see how we could adjust and he begin immediately saying that there’s all these people waiting it’s rude for me to request someone to redo my nails.At this point I didn’t even ask for a redo. I’m in shock that I’m being talked to in this manner , especially when the lady isn’t finished yet. Ricky begins talking loudly and then when I said why are you yelling at me when you are not even privy to any of the conversations that happened prior to you just coming in five minutes before and i haven’t treated you like that. He states “because it is what it is and I just want you to leave now.” I immediately raised up from my chair and stated you have lost a customer for life.Let me be clear I come here to feel at peace, Zen sort of speak, and that is not what kind of service that I received yesterday. I didn’t necessarily like the direction where my nails was going but I do not blame the ladies at all. My review is solely based off of the fact that I came here for service and I expect that service to be done well If I’m not satisfied I should be able to express that to the nail tech and we Be able to have an intelligible conversation.The owner, Ricky lacked honor and the fact that you keep sending these emails to customers talking about please understand that we’re in a transition and we’re opening our restaurant please stop it. I have ingrown nails on my big toe's and it can be so painful to get them worked on. Ana was very mindful, checked in often, and was very gentle in her technique making it the most pleasurable pedicure I've ever received! I had a color trial with Suzanne while I was in town and she’s AMAZING. Not only is my manicure the best Gel-X I’ve gotten, it’s just overall the best manicure I’ve ever had. Suzanne was accommodating, detailed, knowledgeable, and offered really helpful input when I wasn’t sure what color I wanted. She explained the process along the way, which I loved! We’re from New York City and we had to come to the hospital here in indianapolis cause my dad was in the emergency room and we’ve been here for over 2 weeks with nothing to do but just wait. My mom went to this place a few days back to get her nails done, just a regular manicure and pedicure nothing crazy, and when she asked for that, the staff in there looked at her like she was a lowlife cause of the way she looked, it was immature and disgraceful, just because we didn’t look fancy enough for a simple nail salon!!? Natalie LeFlore: I got my nails done here for the first time and this will be my last. I had an appointment on the 18th, and a nail came off on the 24th. I was okay with that because it was mentioned there were bubbles and if the nail came off there wouldn’t be a charge to fix it just come on in. Today, the 24th, I have another nail that just popped on off. It’s the 26th and my other thumb nail just came off. So I guess after a fresh week these start popping off? For this to be my first Gel-ex experience this will make me go back to Acrylic. It’s not worth the time to keep making appointments to fix nails that keep popping off. Definitely not worth paying a little over $100 (with tip).

I don't know if it was the manicurist's fault or if the nail polish was expired but the nail polish on two of my nails literally melted while holding them under the dryer. Summary of the overall look: some of my nails have very thick layers of polish and some have bubbles in them. I was hoping to have a relaxing experience, not looking to be stressful, running to my car with wet nails under the rain because I was late.Original review: I had an appointment two days ago for a pedicure and unfortunately my car wasn't' starting due to a battery problem-the battery was dead, the car wasn't working!- because of the freezing weather. I asked not to be charged because it wasn't in my control to cancel but I was charged...I called again and explained my situation and requested a refund but no! I even proposed to show a proof that I got help from my insurance company's rescue line to start my car but no! If the fee was refunded, I would reschedule and have my pedicure.Robotic responses and no understanding of being a human and having problems out of your control. Again, it was out of my control!I won't be going there anymore!

II WW: I walked in one day after riding a scooter past and asked for a specific service at a specific time and they were able to accommodate me the very next day. I got a matte black manicure that took less than an hour and cost less than $60. It's been over a week now and unlike the other places I've been to the polish still hasn't chipped or washed away. Also, unlike other places I've been they said they would remove the gel polish when I return. And finally the nail tech didn't talk to me the whole time which I absolutely loved. I think I found my new nail home. I will definitely be back.

Upon entering, I was told they would see if someone is available. Someone came and I could tell she was in a hurry. She initially said she'd do my pedicure, then my fill-in, then changed her mind and decided to do my fill-in first. In a failed attempt to be friendly, she asked where I was from. I responded, then asked how she could tell I'm not from here, (the Indianapolis Area) she chuckled and said, "I could just tell." OK, whatever that means. She then stopped mid fill-in, and asked another employee if he could do my pedicure. He apparently agreed, then changed his mind after I was in the chair. I then proceeded to go back to the chair to finish getting my fill-in, where the woman tried making small talk. I then asked about the comment she made earlier about me not being from there, and she tried clearing it up, saying she knows all of the customers who come there, as it's her family's business, but that doesn't explain how someone could "just tell" I'm not from a particular city.Anyway, my polish is neat, but my nails are uneven, as the job was completely rushed. Mary Parsigian: My rating applies to my third visit to Lotus Spa and Nails. My first two experiences were good. In fact, my first manicure lasted 3-1/2 weeks and the second almost two. My third experience, however, deserves a negative rating. He brutally filed my nails with a coarse file. He cut all of them down to fingertip length. He used a coarse file on the tips as well as the tops of my nails. Before I even got home three of them were peeling. In the course of the past week all except both pinkie and one ring finger have peeled back and had to be shortened. I’d like to return because the two female manicurists did a fine job for me. But this guy was brutal. It will be at least a month before my nails look healthy. I’m looking for a different salon.

So we decided to try another nail spa and hadn’t gone to Lotus for a while.Yesterday, 10/10/22, we decided to give them another try so I called in the morning and scheduled 2 Hydro Attention Pedicures for 2pm. We arrived a few minutes early and were shown to our chairs a few minutes after 2pm. They filled the basin and invited us to turn on the massage chairs. We were disappointed there wasn’t any salts added to the water and the jets weren’t turned on.My wife’s technician started right away.I waited.And waited.And waited.25 minutes after my scheduled appointment, I asked the technician if she knew when someone would be starting my pedi. No one had come over to me to tell me what was going on or assure me that someone would be with me asap. Just tell me what’s going on instead of leaving me hanging. I made the appointments for the same time so we didn’t have to wait for each other.The tech what was working with my wife seemed very distracted, checking her phone multiple times. She also skipped steps. She didn’t put anything on her cuticles, push them back, trim them or remove any unwanted skin. The website says this service is supposed to last about 40 minutes and cost $50. Hers lasted 30 minutes, mine hadn’t even started, and she was charged the full price.My tech was lovely, apologized for my wait, did everything listed on the site, and I was very happy with her work.When I was time to check out, the owner of the spa came over and explained that my tech was having an issue with the previous client’s polish and that was the reason for the wait. Please, please have the courtesy to say this from the start. Not after we’ve been inconvenienced. With masked faces and plexi glass for germ safety, I thought the owner said she was going to comp my service and I was very appreciative.Turns out I did not hear her correctly. When I saw the receipt, she gave me a $10 discount and we were charged the full amount for my wife’s very lack-luster pedi. $91.50 in total with the credit card transaction fee.This was terrible customer service from the start, it will be the last time we go to Lotus, and we won’t be recommending it when someone asks for a great place to get their nails done.

If someone makes an appointment and that person isn’t available suggest someone else. Why have an appointment system if you don’t honor it when someone tells you it can be anyone that performs the service!

Today, a woman came in who missed her appointment and was completely rude and condescending to the associates trying to explain to her that she missed her appointments. I didn’t take my day off of my jobs to listen to Karen berate staff because she missed her appointments.The associates were AMAZING! They remained calm and even tried to help her understand how booking works. They were kind despite her tone and continuous interruptions as they tried to help her. I’m so sorry they were treated that way, but it shows what great, professional people work here!

Courtney Elston: The first time I went to this nail salon I loved my experience. The nail tech was very nice and professional. This time, she wasn't there and I was given Hannah. She was nice, but I had a horrible experience. I went home with 6/10 fingers bleeding and was still charged $85. I was in pain the entire time she was doing my nails. She kept filing my skin and making me bleed over and over. At one point, she noticed and just dabbed it with a cotton ball then continued. I've never paid so much for a set before let alone one that made me bleed for 2 hours.

Grace Abernathy: Was made to switch technicians halfway through my appointment. Came in for a removal and full set, and the first tech who removed my nails didn't do it properly. They popped off the whole acrylic from my nail and ripped them off without soaking at all. It was very painful. I should've left then. My new set was put on and the man who did this was so aggressive with my nails that my fingers hurt for about 2 days afterwards. Then he left my fingers covered in excess acrylic and polish. I was peeling it off my hands for days. I won't be back ever again.

I have short nails and he always shapes them carefully, takes great care of my cuticles, and the gel polish application is SO even and clean that it always lasts for at least 2, up to. 3 weeks before any lifting. This is my go-to nail salon!

Sierra Rainey: Update:In my previous reviews, I shared my experiences of being overcharged by this salon. I was hesitant to return after Lan said I could come back and get $10 off my next service. I thought for sure they'd just bump up the original prices of the services to recover the discounted amount. I was wrong. I received excellent nail services on that day, and Lan told me the exact cost of my pedicure and gel fill in before taking off the $10. Thank you for taking my concerns seriously and doing the right thing.I do still think Ice Nails could improve some of its practices. For instance, they used to have a menu in the shop that displayed the costs of each service, but I haven't seen it in the last few years (I have been a client for 3). I do not know a business that does not advertise its prices. Transparency in pricing is crucial, so I believe they should create a new menu that shows all the prices. Prices for every service have increased by a few dollars recently, and this can be confusing for long-time customers. Until they do advertise prices, be sure to ask about the cost of your services prior to your appointment. If you are overcharged, be sure that they explain why.I also dislike that we are charged for nail removal prior to getting a full set. This would make sense if they were following the proper routine of soaking your nails with remover. Instead, every time I get my nails removed, they're just pulled off. This is painful for me, unhealthy for my nails, and takes less than 3 minutes for them to do, so it is incredibly unfair to get charged for this. If you are going in with old nails, I recommend you remove them yourself prior to the appointment. This will save you money, pain and time.Otherwise, Ice Nails does good work. Admittedly, the people aren't always friendly, and there can be a wait time even when you schedule an appointment. What's most important for me is to receive equitable treatment and pricing for good service. She went outside for a break in the middle of my nails while I just sat there and waited. Then after they were done the “gel polish” started chipping off not even 2 days later. Carmen Sharp: Initial experience was unacceptable. My greeting upon arrival was, what are you getting, and no appointment there is a 30 to 40 minute wait. This was absolutely understandable, what wasn't acceptable was the lack of follow-up after that statement. I had to ask do I need to sign-in, etc because this employee offered no direction on next steps. Then the employee asked are you going to wait, and when I said yes. Again silence, no direction. Then a customer tells me I can go to the restaurant and get a tea to wait.

The woman who was working on my toes cut my cuticle causing pain and bleeding that would not stop. We made our appointments two days before hand through the phone and asked for estimates… I got a basic gel manicure, my friend’s got other things such as full gel sets and gel fills along with pedicures. When we called they said a gel manicure was gonna be $30-$35 , but when it was time for me to pay they gave me 4 different prices… I was told $43, $40, $30,$35. I’m completely fine with paying for the service, but I believe that it wasn’t worth spending the time here. The salon is beautiful and clean, there was some expected dust and all, but I don’t know if my utensils were sterilized. When we walked in they had no clue what to do with us and it took about 7 minutes of us explaining to them what services we’d like. Though I enjoyed the girl time, but I did not enjoy the artist constantly yanking on my arm, throwing my hands in the water after they had already soaked for about 6 minutes each to look at another person’s phone for awhile, getting snapped at, and having extra things being applied that I never asked for on the bill or received. I got home and realized that there was a chunk of gel left on my finger that she probably didn’t see, but that’s ok! They only told us that we could choose from one color swatch book because apparently that was all they had, but there was a whole wall full of gel polish. I’m not 100% upset with my nails but I know that they could be better.
