A Better Way Nanny Referral: what do users think?
Kate Bria: We used Lynda to help find us a nanny for our 7th month old. She found us one in a very timely manner and was an absolute joy to work with. Very professional and always easily reachable. You can tell shes been doing this for years! We also love our nanny so far. Would definitely recommend Lynda!
Nicole Freeman: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueA Better Way Nanny is an amazing agency. I appreciate how Lynda cares. I worked for this agency for several years and she has always gone over and beyond for the caregiver and client. I would highly recommend Lynda to every household employee and for families that are seeking help.
Blue “Bluegem45” Gem: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,Value
Jennifer Chalwick: I've worked with Lynda Pitz, as a nanny, for over 7 yrs. She's wonderful! She always finds a family that is perfectly suited for each nanny, & vice versa. She looks at all the needs of the family, & the nanny, to make sure both parties are comfortable & feel very confident in their decision. She will even make sure that both parties live within a close proximity to each other. I've met many amazing families through her! Check out her website. You'll be so happy you did!
Elyse Herring: I have worked with Lynda on several occasions and she has always been outstanding to work with. She genuinely cares about what is the best fit for her nannies as well as her families, and I would definitely use her service again in the future should the need arise.
Kelsie Poe: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI started working with Lynda about a year ago and she made entering the nanny world so easy. I was paired with my perfect family, thanks to her! Now that this job is ending, she is making it just as easy to find another perfect match!
Kaylani George: I want to start of by saying I think this is a great concept to pursue a safer way to find a new nanny. I am sure Lynda puts her families minds at ease with her background checks and investigators. But, when you’re on the other side of the fence, not so great. Upon meeting her, she seemed very sophisticated and extremely relatable as far as a first impression goes. It was such a brief overview I thought there would be more to come before meeting families. If anyone has ever heard of/watched craigslist killer, you know to always meet someone in public WITH another person whether you’re dealing with online interviews/meetups/selling things/etc.Lynda steps completely out of the picture when you meet with your families. The family gets a hold of you and wants them to meet in their home. I think I may have hurt Lynda’s pride when I asked if my husband could wait outside the home in the car when I was asked to go to a city/neighborhood/home I am extremely unfamiliar with. The family understood where I was coming from and unfortunately couldn’t meet me in a public space that day. I don’t care what Lynda’s background checks/investigators say, safety is my #1 priority. So family and I had a phone call initially, and then decided to meet them by myself in the next interview. All was well, and I woke up the day of interview to a family emergency. Called the family and she understood, all was well. This is the part that baffles me. Lynda owns a nanny referral company, so she is familiar with family emergencies and what not, right? WRONG!!!Lynda sent me such an unprofessional email, stating I’m not getting off on a great start because I wanted to meet this family with my husband and that is not allowed. If that were the case; that’s something she should have told me initially. She goes on to tell me she has never heard of anyone asking to take someone with them in the interview. Which hey, maybe they can handle their own. But I will never jeopardize my safety- family couldn’t meet in public, so I asked them accordingly. Not a shocking thing to ask. (I mean, you would think you would earn brownie points for making safety your number one goal)Lynda ended the conversation with telling me since I put my family emergency first before an interview, then I need to work at a daycare. So the next time she is out of office due to an emergency, we should probably tell her to work in a daycare, correct?Lack of professionalism, and I highly doubt she’s as successful as she claims to be. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard of her doing something so astounding either, but decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. Boy I was wrong.Had I known I couldn’t have taken my husband initially, things could have been handled so much more differently. Instead I get a very hasty email instead of owner of the company fixing this problem gracefully. And as far as family emergencies, some people just aren’t empathetic in any way. Those people probably shouldn’t own such intimate family companies. ;)

College Nannies + Sitters + Tutors | Carmel: what do users think?
Shannon Bloomquist: We are so grateful to College Nannies for sending us Bri and Eve to provide childcare during a celebration of life ceremony for Hugo Heart DeBolt, an extraordinary three-year-old who lost his life in May 2022. As an organization, College Nannies is community-minded and deeply generous. Julie was a dream to work with, and once she heard about the reason for our event, she arranged to provide caregivers for us free of charge while still making sure her nannies were paid for their time. Bri and Eve were just awesome with all the kiddos present at the ceremony. As caregivers, they were adaptable and professional, understanding and empathetic. It was, at times, chaotic for them because children were in and out of their care, and they handled everything beautifully. Because of Julie‘s generosity and Bri and Eve’s skill set, the parents at Hugo’s celebration of life were able to be present during the ceremony knowing that their children were well taken care of. We’ll always be grateful to Julie and to College Nannies as an organization. ❤️
Toni Green: Excellent services miracle workers
Kierra Roberts: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueABSOLUTELY THE BEST TUTORING COMPANY ANYBODY CAN ASK FOR
Richeal Cline: Dave and the tutors at College Nannies, Sitters and Tutors were great. My son was tutored for two AP exams and the were very helpful. Additionally, they were willing to work with our schedule and did extra sessions leading up to the exams
John Diercks: This service has been a game changer for my children. So far we’ve had two of our three kids utilize their tutoring services and I anticipate our third will soon. Although our school offers tremendous resources our kids were still struggling in various classes. The tutors they provide are incredibly qualified and connected very well with my kids. They literally turned my kids grades around. I highly recommend College Nannies, Sitters, and Tutors!
Allison Yancey: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueOur kids have loved every sitter that has come to our home. This team clearly takes the applicant screening process to the highest level and is very trustworthy. This is especially important when needing last minute childcare!
Tracy Johnson: I can't say enough good things about Julie Snider's group at College Sitters Nannies and Tutors! We began using their services about a year ago when I began to do more relief work in my field. Given the non-regular schedule of my job, a full- or part-time daycare wasn't what we needed for our 3 boys, then aged 1, 4, and almost 6. CNST was a perfect fit for us! There was always a wide pool of friendly, professional, engaging young adults who wanted to spend time with our kiddos while we both worked or had appointments of various natures. Every single sitter we've had has been professional and kind. We've always been able to find a qualified sitter with a few days notice and often even the night before if we decided to go out somewhere on our own. On the few occasions where sitters were sick or had emergencies, the agency absolutely worked with us to provide another sitter to fill those hours. The owner, Julie, is friendly and approachable; she wants to genuinely help your family out! They offer a nanny service too that we've been considering as some of my hours are becoming more constant. The price is very fair as well. I highly recommend College Sitters Nannies and Tutors here and do so to my friends as well!
Caroline Anderson - Pflum: Positive:Communication,Professionalism
Hannah Williams: As a College Sitter, we see the inside of the operation--we are a part of the operation--and I have yet to work for employers and with team members who are more dedicated to creating a wonderful, memorable, experience for our client base than those at College Nannies, Sitters, and Tutors.
Suzanne Jannetta: I highly recommend the tutoring services at Carmel Nannies, Sitters & Tutors. Both of the tutors our student has worked with have not only been highly knowledgeable in subject area (as one would expect) but also very engaging, conscientious, and committed to helping our student succeed.
Jennifer Pyatt: This company, it's app, and it's sitters are 5 star. The ability to have a qualified and trustworthy sitter within 3 hours has been life changing for our family. I have been extremely impressed by each sitter. We have 3 year old twin boys - very high energy. My home is cleaner than when I left, fed, napped, potty-trained or diapers etc. The boys are excited to see the sitters too. College Nannies always steps in quickly also if anything in schedules changes. It is amazing!!!
Kent Sipe: Review sessions at College Nannies Sitters and Tutors increased our son’s SAT score 100 points!
Brielle Mathews: Good company to work for as a nanny. You are able to choose when to work based on your own availability. Mostly everything from scheduling availability to time logging is done using a clever app. I wasn't a nanny but actually was there for a short time as the Role Model Manager while Ashley was gone on maternity leave. Lisa and Ashley are fantastic workers that care about the families. My only complaint is that the families can act very entitled since they are better off than most and are prone to blow ups if anything goes wrong, which is partly why I left. If you're looking to be a nanny here then you are in good hands. - I can also assure you that the nanny referenced in the first post is gone as I was the one to let her go.
Tina Hallett: My 11 year old son needed to learn organization skills and good homework habits on top of learning academics. His tutor Michael was able to do all of the above and now my son has gained confidence and knowledge in his work. I am very happy with College Tutors and my son continues to see Michael twice a week.
Erin Thomas: College Nannies, Sitters and Tutors really came through for us. When both of our daycare options pushed our wait-list even more months out for our entry, we were at a complete loss. With maternity leave ending in a matter of weeks, we turned to Julie at CNST. She came to our home, and asked us what qualities would work well for us in a nanny for our newborn son. She was so kind and caring- we knew she would find a great nanny for us. We now have a wonderful gal that comes to our home M-F and is simply amazing with our baby boy! I could not ask for a better caregiver outside of our family. Our nanny is on time, professional, and truly takes great care of our son daily. He is learning so much with her, and we are thrilled with his progress. Thank you again CNST!!
Kelly Blake: We have had a great experience with College Nannies, Sitters, and Tutors. We recently moved to Indianapolis and didn't have a lot of contacts build within the city yet, but were in desperate need of a babysitter for several events and we ran across CNST. They have been a blessing for us. We have used several different sitters and they have all been great with our daughter. They always actively engage with her and give her lots of attention when we are gone, so she can't wait for us to leave. We have also appreciated the convenience and flexibility of scheduling our babysitters on the app. We usually have a answer pretty fast, too. Julie & her team have even gone out of their way to help me with babysitting requests when no one was available on the app. I highly recommend them for your childcare needs.
Marguerite Pferrer: I have had a wonderful experience working with College Nannies, Sitters and Tutors. I love the way you can set your own hours to work and I have always had positive feed back from Lisa and Ashley. My paycheck has always been direct deposited into my bank account on Fridays. The families and children I've cared have been very kind and give good directions for the care of the children. I would highly recommend working for Carmel College Nannies, Sitters and Tutors.
Abby Grant: I needed a last minute babysitter. I had received a perk from a local group for four free hours from College Nannies + Sitters + Tutors The manager, Lisa, bent over backwards to get us a sitter with a 2 hour notice. The sitter arrived on time and we went through what was available for dinner and our basic house rules. We asked about our children's behavior. At that time, she let us know H1 had some problems with name calling, personal space and kindness to H2. During her description of the evening, she described an incident where H1 had climbed on her head. She informed us she had corrected H1 by saying, "You are a weirdo." Although it did not sit well with me, I was able to look past that remark.I did text her shortly after she left asking for a good time to call so H1 could call and apologize for his behavior and ask for forgiveness. We scheduled it for 3pm on Sunday. The next morning we spoke in length to H1 about the evening one thing heshared that was a bit alarming was that, even though he ate dinner, H2 was not fed. I checked with Carmen about dinner and she said,"No, he did not. H1 did. But not H2. I know he was snacking on a banana and some chips but he didn't eat no pizza."I let her know that was not okay. A banana and chips is not a substantial dinner for any child. I also noticed that she didn't change H2's diaper before bed. Because if that, he woke up soaked. I am positive she didn't change his diaper since I only had 3 diapers left in that package before leaving and all 3 diapers were still there when I checked. I had talked to the sitter and wrote the company a detailed email of the evening to be sent after Carmen and I spoke at 3.I took to my local group on Facebook to share my experience and to let them know I will not be using this service again for many reasons. For $18.75 an hour, I expected my child not to be neglected. Lisa, the manager of the company, is in this local group and saw the negative post. She chose to respond on the thread. Honestly, I don't remember her exact words but she conveyed her frustration that I had posted to the local group before talking to her.We spoke for 7 minutes and 11 seconds and the majority of the conversation was about my post--not her employee's neglectful behavior. This is not addressing the real issue at hand and the whole reason I posted on Facebook in the first place. She was very angry that I took to social media, accusing me of being immature and trying to ruin her business. Her business is a premier sponsor of the local group and pays $1,500 to have her business advertised and she felt I had no right to "rant" about it. When responding to her aggressive tones and language, I tried to avoid accusatory words and tried to convey how I felt as a customer. She said I was being "immature and not business like." Lisa demanded I take down the post. It was unnecessary for Lisa to call me immature or unprofessional. In this setting, SHE is the professional while I am a concerned parent. Instead of berating me for sharing MY bad experience, she should have taken the time to reassure me that it would not happen again and she would make sure the negative behaviors of her employee was addressed. I should not be belittled for sharing with a local group of other moms who would probably like to know personal experiences before booking a babysitter through any service. Yes, I could have called her first but I did what I felt was best in the moment.
