I've lost multiple loved ones (including one that had surgery at this location) from addiction after surgery. Not all programs educate you on the risk of death due to alcohol post op, ~30% of patients experience transfer addiction and ~7% die from addiction.

BUT I can honestly say I have NEVER had a bad experience with the Bariatric Center- from first consultation, surgery, after care, and my follow up care 7.5 years after I have exceptional service from every staff member. I feel like they really care about me, my health and my weight loss success. I will say that they do prescreen patients and set you up for success, so there may be requirements that you need to meet for both the center and your insurance before approval for weight loss surgery- BUT I have known people who have used programs with less pre-work and they have gained all the weight back and then some. I have maintained a loss of over 150 pounds and I have referred many to the program that have had the same long term success. This is wonderful care and I really am thankful to the entire team for their support and in giving me a life that I enjoy living

She asked what surgery I wanted—I told her—and then she told me the other option was better and she’s “performed 12,000 of them so I should know”. She also told me that my insurance probably wouldn’t cover this procedure because I didn’t have enough weight I needed to lose. She was in the parking lot before I even got to my car, so I think she just wanted to leave at the end of the day. The check out lady was the only person who I had a positive encounter with,, so thank you, Christian.In short, I would not go here.

My mother and I were sent here from our doctors because we had a lot of trouble losing weight and had some medical issues that the doctor said could be corrected maybe with weight loss surgery.We did the first appointment with the doctor and then got sent to see their therapist.The day before our appointment with the dietitian the lady at the front desk called informing us that we were being kicked out of the program because we needed 1 year of hard core mental therapy.I was told point blank with the phone on speaker the reason I needed to do this therapy was because I had issues with my biological father.I then asked couldn't I just do counseling while in the program and was told no that that's not how it works.Also the ladies that work at the front are so rude and disrespectful. They have no respect for anyone and shouldnt even be aloud to work there.They never even called my doctor back when he called asking for the reason my mother and I was kicked out of the program.Such and unprofessional place.Wouldnt recommend this place to anyone ever.

Sariah Shepherd: I had the worst experience here! Somewhere between 2017 and 2018 my chart notes were missing. I don’t know how they could loose my appointments, but they did, including the very first class I had attended. I don’t know her name, but it was either the account coordinator or manager, but this woman did not believe me. She did not believe me when I told her that I had an appointment with Dr Jones and everything was moving forward. Why would I lie about that? I asked her to check (twice) and I never got a return phone call. She was defensive, rude and told me to go somewhere else. I was not rude with her, but I was shocked that my chart notes were lost (which she obviously thought I was lying about). For this reason, I would never recommend this place to anyone!!! No patient should ever be treated with disrespect.

I was able to lose 65 pounds on the Medical Weight Loss program with their support, especially Amy and Michelle. Without them I would not have been successful. They celebrate wins, help me work through issues and give great tips and ideas. They stress that this is MY program and I need to commit to do what it takes to lose this weight. I highly recommend this group if you have a little or a lot of weight to lose. It's not easy, but it works.

Jennifer Bennett: Everyone was very helpful and through this process. My dietician was amazing and was always available very quickly when I had questions. She was through with teaching us what we need to know.Dr. Jan is the most kind and caring surgeon I've ever met. He called during my journey to surgery and he himself explain things. He explains everything about what your surgery involves. He makes sure your comfortable. I was shaking in the operating room ((I'm the anxiety queen((while they were about to give me anesthesia. Dr Jan came to where my arm was restrained down and held it. He actually cares about his patients!Surgery was yesterday, but I'll update soon as I can!

So Basic: They are super nice to you when you first show interest. Then, if you have any sort of doubts or serious questions about the surgery- asking about their patient success rate, what should I really expect, how much time do I really need to take off work, etc- they turn on you and bully and shame you. I had visits with both of the Nurse Practitioners and I felt horrible about myself because of their bullying/shaming after the appointments. It’s hard enough to be overweight and asking for help is a huge step, but when people who have never struggled with their weight belittle you for eating potatoes or a breaded veggie patty it’s just too much. I’m not going to spend my insurance copay + any other fees you incur to be bullied by two skinny people who are just looking for my insurance $$$. That made me realize they didn’t care & it was just the getting the patients in and getting their money. Shame on them. The only reason I gave them 1 star was because the dietician was great. She helped me a lot. I have lost 20 pounds with her support.

I'd strongly recommend doing your research and looking out-of-state if possible.I started my WLS journey at a different program that provided several training sessions and required workshops to get approved - what I experienced at St Francis was a 4 hour class that surprised and confused most of the attendees. I was shocked at the difference. How are you supposed to succeed with a life changing surgery if you're not adequately prepared for the life afterwards? One seminar just isn't enough.I succeeded with my surgery despite that and largely due to the education I received at my first program. This weekend I will run my 3rd marathon since my Roux-en-Y. I lost all of my excess weight and gave up on my follow-up visits with St. Francis because there's very little they can actually do to assist you. They want to push you into WLS, collect the money, and leave you to fend for youself. They were a waste of time and money. They will run blood work and if it comes back normal, they will tell you that your struggle is all on your head and send you to your PCP (who is usually equally ill-equiped to help with specialized issues specific to bariatric surgery btw).After years of maintaining my weight loss, I panicked when I noticed the scale keep up 10 pounds. I visited them for help and they were worse than useless. The NP (Aaron) told me that eating flaxseeds and avacado with my toast in the morning was the reason I was gaining weight...despite running 30-40 miles per week. Ridiculous. And insulting! They truly do not care once they have completed your surgery.There are much better programs out there, do your homework and avoid this place.

Chris Tackett: My accurate review.I had my surgery on 08/07/2019.I arrived to the hospital for the surgery and it was like walking into a wonderful hotel. Everyone was friendly and extremely knowledgeable.I was out for the surgery but I didn't die so that's a plus.I was taken to a room to recover and was there for a couple hours because they had to wait for a room to be available. This is typical and the people were nice.I was taken to a room and the nurse was never notified. A nurse aid or something walked pass the room and yelled back to someone that there was a person in the room. Then two people came to the room and introduced themselves.They had no clue I was a weight loss patient.I had to teach them what foods I was allowed to have and basically kept my weight loss guide with me because they were trying to give me food I was not permitted to have and removed devices from me that I later learned were supposed to be left on me. There are boots you wear to stop blood clotting and they removed mine when they came in because they weren't working properly and a person came in to fix them and they never put them on.It wasn't until the day after I got an RN that actually knew I was a weight loss patient and sadly I was living shortly after, but she got everything straight for me.The saddest part was my first two weeks were great. I felt great, then all of a sudden I was extremely dehydrated. I called the Weight Loss Center and had a lot of issues getting replies. I finally spoke with an RN and they said I was fine and this is common and I tried to explain that I was having issues keeping water down and I didn't eat for days. They kept dismissing my statements. (I have the documentation showing this)I was at the point where I could not stand because I was so weak and I was light headed that the RN told me they would suggest I go to the Emergency room.I visited the emergency room and found out that I was dangerously dehydrated. They gave me several IV's and contacted the surgeon and said the surgeon was dismissive to them and was concerned I was not being properly treated.They told me that I had to come back a couple days later as my liver numbers were getting extremely high.I went back a few days later for testing and due to the IV's given by the Emergency room my counts were still extremely high but were under control.The following week I had my appointment with the Surgeon. This guy is arrogant and impersonal. He does not care about his patients at all. You are nothing more then a processing point for him.In meeting this surgeon I explained the issues I was having and everything you tell him he turns on you and blames you for having issues. It's crazy.I had a change in personality, as stated by the Psychiatrist, who stated that sometimes there are personality changes etc. She goes through this entire process of telling you this may happen. The Surgeon states that it's basically a lie and if you do have any changes like this it's your fault and you need to find your primary doctor to fix it. He contradicts the Psychiatrist in the weight loss program.I then explained to him my experience in the hospital and he stated that it's my responsibility to educate the nursing staff on what they should be doing. While I'm okay with stating that I need to pay attention to ensure I'm eating the proper foods, it's negligible on the surgeon and hospitals side that their staff cannot properly take care of a patient in their care.He was a complete JERK when telling me it was my job to educate the staff.When they LIE to you and say that this nursing staff is hand picked by the surgeon.. I doubt it, unless the surgeon is totally incompetent.You are asked to not tell anyone you have complications as they do not risk affecting their numbers. That's when you should seek out another weight loss center.I'm 6 weeks out and every day I feel sick. you can tell their staff until your blue in the face, if you have complications they push you aside as they do not want you to affect their numbers.

Dori Oneil Logan: I have found the staff of the weightloss center to be very professional at all times.They have been very encouraging when I have had any delays for surgery due to my own health issues needing to be cleared.There has not been a time when I haven't had a prompt response to any questions I've had.My surgeon was excellent.I am 66 yrs old and had the RNY surgery in January of this year.I have been doing very well...very happy to have put my trust in their care!The nurse for my surgeon has been there for me 100% whenever I've needed her.I would recommend their services to anyone who is looking into getting bariatric surgery.

cece newton: I did PRP for my hair.. due to Covid I had lost a lot of my hair. I’d highly recommend the service. I will let you know that the first session you may see more shedding (so don’t be scared) because it’s killing all the dead follicles I guess. But by the time you go on your second and third session you should see a huge difference as long as you follow the recommendations. I highly recommend PRP I think it’s great..Currently I am doing their cellulite noninvasive removal for my inner thighs. I’ve had two sessions and I’ve definitely seen improvement. Again you have to make sure that you listen to the recommendations. Keep yourself hydrated I drinking before and after the process. MD is very fair priced for their services when you compare them to other med spas !

Ashley Hibbard: At the first visit, a lady takes you to a consult room and asks your goal weight, what you are eating, etc. She then hands you a piece of paper stating the first visit will be $383 and around $110 per month for follow up visits. Also offering B12 shots for an additional $52 per month. Nothing can be billed out to insurance, no prescriptions, and food/shakes/bars must be purchased at their facility but you can use your HSA. Doctor does do blood work and goes over it with you. After established, you return once a month for follow up visits and Rx.

I was expecting this place to be a little more comprehensive and actually help you--not just sell you shakes and bars and meals. How can you ask me 3 questions and then tell me what my plan for weight loss is going to be? Nothing consultative, nothing caring, they just want your money for the shakes and bars and then move on to the next "client." Very disappointed.

If you have tried other diets such as weight watchers, Slimfast, or any other low calorie diet without success, you probably will not have success with this one either. I did not find that this experience was any different -- I was expecting more support, and more options, so I was very disappointed with Fast Clinical Weight Loss. I will continue looking for something that works. Keep in mind there really is not a one-size-fits-all diet. Your body may be different and may respond to this program where mine did not.
