Lisa B: Let me start by saying the two of us were meeting a family member at 6:30p. We arrived (reservation) on time and were seated in a booth as requested almost immediately. We were the second table of two in the dining room & starving since we spent the entire day flying & hitting the local mall. So we ordered an appetizer (stuffed mushrooms), water & a beer. By 7p we had out drinks & the family member was running late. The couple next to us ordered their dinner & we still didn’t have out stuffed mushrooms… another table of two sat down in the cozy dining room, they ordered their food & our water brought dinner to the other table of two, then brought dinner to the third table of two in addition too table of six that sat down while the third table was receiving their dinner. Drinks went to the table of six & still no stuffed mushrooms. Our waiter was running around, perspiring like crazy as it was 90 degrees outside and the rest of the dining rooms were filling up. There was a line going outside by 7:30p when our family member arrived and still no mushrooms… two more tables of two arrived & received their drinks & dinner) We ordered dinner at 7:40p and at 9p received our stuffed mushrooms, two chicken Marsala’s & salad. The food was great but the wait was a bit much. Not sure what happened hence the four stars.

ESTRELLA RUBI REYNA QUIROZ: The place is nice, italian thematic . On Saturday is crowded and I guess for this reason the waitress was rude with us, she was so pushy with the orders, she brought the check before we asked for. Definitely she wanted we leave as soon as possible. The food was terrible. It looked good but was tasteless. I wouldn't come back and I don't recommend this place.

Rabina Mainali: Went on a Friday night around 8pm and we were the only ones there. We got some beer and chicken wings(extremely greasy and soggy) and had to call it a night. Kim Hugunin: If I could give 0 stars I would have. We were only a party of 3. It took some time to get drinks and order our food. A table was sat right across from us and got their food, ate it, boxed it up, paid and left before our food came. Our waitress kept Telling us it was still in the oven. Finally it came out about an hour and a half after we ordered it and it was cold. The waitress and the manager could have cared less. We wound up just leaving. Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant!!

However, the homemade pasta it was made with was great. The cocktail menu goes beyond the usual offerings and includes some Italian liquors not often found , which was very nice. The service was excellent as well.Parking: The parking lot is mostly big enough, but street parking is also usually easy to get just outside the restaurant.

The veal was very chewy and the marsala sauce had very little mushroom or wine flavor. It was served on a bed of polenta that was absolutely swimming in butter. Overall, the dish tasted like breakfast grits with a bad steak on top. No flavor profile other than butter, polenta, and chewy veal.My wife had the cheese ravioli with chicken. The chicken was overcooked (very dry) and the ravioli was very undercooked. The corners were incredibly dense and difficult to chew and the cheese filling was barely cooked. The alfredo sauce flavor was OK, but it couldn't overcome the badly cooked pasta.I may try again sometime and switch to a tomato-based dish. But these two dishes were just terrible.

Felissa King: What a wonderful experience! We had an immunocompromised member in our party, so requested a socially distanced table, if possible. Most restaurants will no longer honor these requests, but Iozzo's took note of it on our reservation and placed us in the corner of the restaurant, with an empty table between us and the next party. Mama Carolla´s villa was built by the RH Shelborn Company in the 1920´s as a model home for a new style of homes to be built o the Indianapolis north side. This California Stucco design incorporates a Mediterranean style with a little touch of Spanish and Italian, and can be seen in several houses throughout the Meridian-Kessler neighborhood.
Although the house has changed hands several times (it has been a home to several families, a glass factory, and a woodworking shop), its decor is strikingly similar to the original design. All of the wrought iron, and most of the light fixtures remain. Additional lighting consists of period fixtures in order to maintain the historical charm. And on winter nights, a wood burning fires glows in the fireplace exuding the warmth and family spirit of the house.

Thomas East: We had an amazing first experience at Mama Carolla's. Andy was a great server who gave good recommendations and readily enabled our relentless quest for the "Big Full". I left with mustard stains on my shirt and fell asleep on the car ride home, and my wife still loves me. Vanessa Kenworthy: This is a hidden gem. I didn't know it was there until recently since it's not in our neighborhood. Our waitress, Ashley, was fantastic and super attentive even though she was doing the stairs the whole time. We started with the bruschetta and it was phenomenal. A couple of us had the chicken rigatoni which was fabulous with the Rizzo style. The traditional lasagna has a unique marinara that was very tasty. Mely Cooks: I've eaten here since it opened in 1997. It was always a go-to place to take guests. Mama and Papa treated guests and employees like family and I respected that greatly. After Covid, I had a couple experiences there that showed me their servers are woke and seething with hard core hatred for conservatives. I can't in good conscious eat there anymore. Unless I hid who I am, I wouldn't trust the immature woke wait staff not to spit in my food. Regarding the food? I always liked it and it was rare a dish was prepared inconsistently. However I refuse to dine with or tip people who hate me for my political views. Get woke, go broke. Sad to see this spot not hire a diverse and tolerant staff. Navdeep Singh: One good thing about this place when we went out for a birthday dinner. One of the host came up to us and told us about the meat in our food and he wasn’t even our server. He assumed we didn’t know and he was right we were vegetarians. Other than that, other parts of our food were cold, and it took almost an hour to bring out our food. Our server did not check up on us and neither brought us out bread while we saw the tables around us being brought out the bread. That was the one and last time we will be going.

Kayleigh Wheeler: To start, Server was Rodney and he was fantastic. On top of everything but not hovering, made sure we knew all the best options and super friendly. Food was top knotch, so much better than expected. I hardly eat red meat, but tried a bite of my husbands steak and was automatically mad I didn’t get it (but my chicken rigatoni was phenomenal). For how much food we got, the price was really reasonable and the atmosphere was so cute and quaint. Was our first visit but will without a doubt be back.

Sarah Gross: I reserved a table here for my sister's bachelorette party and it was absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious and I cannot speak highly enough of our waitress, Brooke, she was amazing! She was so attentive and fun and an absolute delight, she really helped make our night 3 My mom left her phone at the table and Brooke about chased her down to give it to her before we got to far. The hostess was even kind enough to take our photo. And I appreciate that they validate parking for a big discount so you can park under the hotel, since parking in the area is limited. David Lane: I have fond memories of the Old Spaghetti Factory at other locations around the country, but this experience was disappointing. My first disappointment was the bread. I remember nice soft sourdough bread, but instead encountered French bread. It was good French bread, just not what I expected. At the recommendation of the server, I ordered the dinner size portion of the Pot Pourri with 4 different sauces. My meal came out very hot but looking like a lunch portion. The server regretfully confirmed the lunch portion was half that size. I found the sauces to be delicious, but I found myself leaving the restaurant still hungry and unsatisfied.
Jayant Kurvari: When I first walked in, I was enamored by the ambiance here. Everything was elegant. I was hoping the food would also live up to the expectations, and they did. Regarding the food, I usually don’t like mushroom dishes, but my waitress recommended the Wild Mushroom Ravioli, and it far exceeded my expectations! Everything was so flavorful and the sauce complemented the ravioli perfectly. To top the experience all off, they provided complimentary ice cream and top notch service. I highly recommend this place!

Denise Rayman: Fine dining it is not, but I love the vibe in here. Eat your complementary ice cream in a fake train! No two chandeliers are the same! Everything is covered in wood paneling and the wood is actually real! I am tired of restaurants all trying to be cool and grey and modern, the old spag factory is unique and unchanged. Donald Mansmann: Loved it! We went to celebrate my wife's birthday. She said the lasagna was the best she's ever had. I had a chef's special salmon with lump crab and capers. It was fantastic. We REALLY loved the baked goat cheese appetizer. Wonderful! They even served us a complimentary tiramasu dessert. Great! The service was excellent. Great restaurant. I hope to go back often.

Michael Goad: The food was amazing. As a native New Yorker, I've had a hard time finding what I consider to be "good" Italian food since I've moved to Indy. I've tried a handful of well reviewed restaurants, and so far this one is by FAR the best. The menu was solid, it offered a handful of Italian staples as well as a couple of dishes you won't find at other restaurants. The food was incredible, and the the service was ok. The server was busy, and you can tell he was trying, but some of our requests went unfilled, and others were brought out so late it made it a moot point. The service was still "acceptable" overall and I would highly recommend this place!

Muhammad Khalifa: Calamari was a good start, pasta dishes were ok with decent, fresh individual ingredients (points for good seafood that's treated right!) but the pasta dough itself is not likely to have been made in house and the sauces/compositions are pretty standard. MC: This restaurant has an old Sicilian feel to it. From the employees to the decor it's ambiance is truly perfect. Very cozy and a spot for a very nice dinner or date night. Being new to this place we did like we normally do and tried a few appetizers. We got the INCREDIBLE meatballs which had a chef's spice to perfect the flavors. The mussels were amazing and didn't have the usual heavy broth. Both were EXCELLENT!!!! I ordered the lasagna and it was heavy with meat sauce not ricotta to my pleasant surprise. I’m sure maybe the sauces are made in house but everything else is not and even then I’m still doubtful. The bruschetta is 6” tall it’s weird and not good, this is not bruschetta. I will not be going back. The bartender was kind of douchey too, I know that’s harsh but no other way to put it. I just did not enjoy spending my money here, wish I didn’t.

The parking is a hassle, but the food is great! We ordered the shrimp fondue, bolognese, & cacio e Pepe and we couldn’t find anything wrong with the dishes! They were so flavorful! Tried getting carry out 3 separate occasions around 7pm each time and they say “the kitchen is not doing carry out for the remainder of the night.” What’s the point of offering carry out, just put a link on the website to Iaria’s down the street.
