Eleven Fifty Academy - Fishers: what do users think?
Eric Hartjen: Would not recommend. No one would call me back and they kept changing the cohort start date because they couldn’t find a teacher. I went with coderfoundry and it was a much better experience.
Nathan Arnold: Took the software development course when it was free with cares act felt antiquated old school nothing to help you develop on your own take codecademy pro $40 a month and tutorial point to learn lingo you’ll learn just as much
Russ Rockwood: I had an awesome experience taking the software development course in 2021.
Coobjh: Joke Academy.
Connor Burgess: I was stoked that there was some unused government assistance related to the pandemic that could be utilized for continued education to build upon skills needed in the high necessity job markets. I went through the entire admissions process and thoroughly made sure that my profile would check out and pass all levels of the process to get the government assistance. I was absolutely assured that I did qualify and I was in the clear. I even at one point mentioned my current education (MBA) and asked if it will present any issues as I didn't want to sign up and pay the $250 application fee if it would. I was told it wasn't an issue and wouldn't present any issues.Low and behold, I was denied assistance. I reached out to my academic advisor, Kourtney, whom I needed to follow-up with in order to get a response and I was only told "Since you met all of the enrollment requirements and everything looked good for your funding, it looked like you should have received the funding. That being said the fee is non-refundable as stated on the website when you made the payment. Any refund would have to be approved by the Director of Admissions. I will reach out to him."Since that was the case, I went ahead and reached out to the Director of Admissions, Paul, myself so he had all of the communications. This posting was a 1 star and is now a 4 star. Paul ended up reaching out and was on vacation, which is where a communication gap existed. Paul apologized and gave credible backup information as to why this may have happened and said he could work with me to fix the issue. Thank you Paul.Best of luck to those that got through and those that are pursuing their dreams.
Dawn T: I was excited to start the SD program. Instructors seemed knowledgeable and willing to provide assistance. There was a lot of information thrown at you all at once and it was hard to know where to find the answers that I needed to be successful though. Unfortunately, I began to fall behind and my instructors and the administrative staff were very very slow to respond and then they told me I could not continue to the next badge. I tried to explain my situation and no one really cared. I believe they charged me the whole amount for all badges and aren't giving me a refund. So beware, if you struggle, you have no recourse and you will still owe money or forfeit money that was given by the state.
Max Griffin: I got a good job after attending.
Scott Stewart: I went through 1150 academy with an open mind and it drastically changed my life. I learned the necessary skills for a mid level developer role within one month of my graduation. Because of 1150 I am now a software engineer at the company of my dreams and I couldn’t be happier.
Eli T. Drumm: I attended the JavaScript bootcamp as a student and then was hired to part-time teach the next year. I can say these people are extremely devoted to what they're doing and truly know what they're talking about; seriously, they're exactly the type of individuals I want to be learning from and working alongside the rest of my career. I came in knowing more than most people do but I've learned so much and I credit that completely to the staff and the environment they create for the students (as well as the faculty). You can really flourish here.
Andrew Jones: I took an iOS Bootcamp in 2014 with Eleven Fifty Academy. We were using Swift, and created three apps during the course. The instructors were great, and really made sure everyone was understanding the curriculum. I felt extremely comfortable and confident after. When I returned to school, I definitely had a leg up to my peers with my coding experience. I graduated with a computer science major, but don't think I had a course at my college that compared to what I learned in this bootcamp.
Daniel Jones: ElevenFifty was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I started with almost no coding experience. I had taken one class in high school and college on coding, but I didn’t really understand coding or even like it. During my sophomore year of college, I left Indiana University and joined ElevenFifty academy. I was able to learn how to code iPhone apps and backends. Afterward, without any college degree, I was able to make $84,000 in my first software developer job in California for a Cybersecurity company that has an app with 10 million users. Then, I ended up starting my own app company. I ended up building the entire iPhone and Android app and backend for my startup. My app has been downloaded thousands of times. We were accepted into the top startup accelerator in the world (Y Combinator) that has produced startups like Airbnb, DoorDash, and Twitch. We were featured in Forbes, and we were able to raise $1.5 million in venture capital on a $12 million valuation. ElevenFifty changed my life in many ways. Coding is the new form of literacy, and I highly highly suggest that you learn. ElevenFifty does a phenomenal job of getting you from 0 to 100! It does take some hard work, but it is definitely worth it.
Benjamin J: I took a course teaching iOS app development using Swift back when Eleven Fifty was just starting (Fall 2014). I'm sure they have changed and improved a lot in the past six years, but I will speak a bit about my experience. The philosophy is very much about immersive coding. The days were long hours of learning and working on code projects, but at the end of the week, I felt my aptitude was at another level. It's been six years since I've taken that class. I haven't done much with mobile development, but I was able to apply the learning philosophy to learn Python and C++ effectively and efficiently in the same way that Eleven Fifty taught with swift. To speak to the power of this learning approach, I start at one of the "Big Four" tech companies next week! I am very grateful for the opportunities that have opened up with programming, and attribute much of that success to Eleven Fifty and their immersion philosophy.
Scott Jones: I founded the Academy, putting together a world class teaching staff and team that caused me to take the initial classes myself, as a student. The courses and team have continued to get better and better, which is demonstrated through our even better outcomes. With our immersion training programs that take merely 12 weeks, we offer rapid transformation to careers paying double or triple the compensation earned prior. We have graduates making from $55k starting to six digits after a couple of years of experience, at employers such as Salesforce, SallieMae, Sunrise Movement, Developer Town, GEICO, Deloitte, Infosys, Amazon, Google, and others. We’ve placed dozens of grads even during two months of the pandemic lockdown, in the context of massive national unemployment. I’m extremely proud of our amazing team at Eleven Fifty Academy!
Chris Hutchinson: I currently work at Eleven Fifty and have worked for other coding academies in the past. The passion the instructors have for student success is beyond impressive. Every day I hear about a new student success story. I have also attended Eleven Fifty's free Intro to Coding course and was amazed at how much I was able to learn in only 3 hours. I can't recommend Eleven Fifty enough for those that are seeking a new high-paying career. Eleven Fifty offers classes online and in-person, full-time, and part-time.
Cody Hunt: Eleven Fifty Academy helped change my life and career path! I went into their 12 week JavaScript cohort where in the short time I learned everything I needed to change my career from Sales to a Web Developer. Shortly after completing the course I found a job that was paying me double what I was making at my previous job. If you're thinking about making a change into a career that is more stimulating and will last into the future I highly recommend going here
Carissa Pierce: The staff are so helpful and kind! They really want you to succeed! Definitely a wonderful school!
Willie Travis: PROS- Seamless enrollment process- Incredibly helpful instructors and support team- Coursework offered a good balance of lecture time and heads down coding time.CONS- Course content had a decent flow, but during our final project we had to design with Angular which had never been covered in class.- Friday workshops were hit and miss; some guest speakers were dynamic and engaging, others not so much.I was a student in March 2019 in the full-time .NET cohort. Before enrolling, I attended the free intro to coding course offered at EFA. I felt no pressure to enroll and was encouraged that they acknowledged that coding wasn't for everyone and effectively screened their potential students. We were given pre-work to complete prior to our cohort starting which really let you hit the ground running when the class started. The class moved at a quick pace and throughout the twelve weeks, our class size went from 18 to 12 students. The important piece of Eleven Fifty Academy is the career services team, as a large majority of students are there to prepare them for a job in tech. One important thing to note is that EFA does not have a direct pipeline to any employers, so you're not guaranteed a job after graduating. Expect to hustle, network and keep working to hone your skills post graduation to land your first job. Their career services team will be there to support you every step of the way with resume building tools and tips, advice on networking on LinkedIn and sending you job opportunities as they become available.Overall, I had a great experience at EFA. I met some great people and fell in love with the EFA's supportive culture. Coding isn't for everybody and don't expect it to be easy but if you're willing to put in the work in the classroom and be diligent with self-study it can help you make the jump into technology.
Lydia Moody: I was able to successfully career change in less than a year by attending Eleven Fifty Academy. I began their Javascript program Dec 2018 and had an offer at a top tech company in Indianapolis in August of 2019. EFA can be a stepping stone for someone like me who had no prior experience in development or it can be a place to expand your knowledge for those who already have learned a language but need to improve their skills or add a new language to their knowledge base. And I can't finish this without including that you get amazing lunches every day included in your tuition!
Nicholas Perry: I decided on EFA after comparing them to Hack Reactor and App Academy because I thought they had the most caring people, and thankfully I was right. The instructors were extremely helpful because although they help up a standard, they were flexible as long as you were trying your hardest. I put in as many hours as I could put in and in return I succeeded and got a job 4 weeks before graduating. Career services will tell you exactly what to do and and how to do it in order to get a job. If you are able to do it and follow a plan, I don't think there's a way to mess it up. Also, the curriculum is good(4/5) but for learning .NET they definitely are the top place to be. Many schools only focus on javascript or a language specific to their area, but I liked how they had a well rounded full stack curriculum using a technology from one of the biggest companies on earth. Overall, I thought EFA is a school that is innovative in their teaching methods and that coupled with caring and useful instructors they provide one of the best pathways to success as a software developer.
Daniel Beaver: I came to Eleven Fifty looking to change careers, 12 weeks later I started my job as a software Developer. I had heard a lot of mixed reviews about bootcamps in general from other people, however my experience at Eleven Fifty challenged me in ways I never expected. The course work goes beyond techinical skills to cover things like resume development and interview skills. The class is demanding, but if you stick with it you can be successful. The web development class focuses on React, which is one of the most in demand, and highest paying, skills right now.Of my class of almost 20, two of us graduated with job offers right away
Joshua Gillen: I was in the second cohort for the cybersecurity course. With that being said it was very well put together and presented. The Staff are true subject matter experts. They not only know the material that they teach, they have real world experience doing it. The course is far from easy, and it will challenge you. If you're looking to make a change in your life and get into cybersecurity, I would highly recommend this course.

Sandler Training Trustpointe: what do users think?
Robert Evans: Great content, even better people! Our sales team continues to benefit from both the Foundations and Mastery programs. Online podcasts allow the opportunity to take full advantage of the investment. A must for those that want to make a difference!
Douglas Price: Exceeded my expectations by far. The Foundations course provide a great diagnostic of my sales acumen-or lack there of!- and gave me a road map forward to success not only in business but personally, emotionally, socially, etc. I went away after the class thinking that I will be back to Sandler Training at Trustpointe to delve even deeper. Thanks to Tim and Chris and Amanda for being stellar trainers!
Dillon Dittemore: Completely changed my entire out look on my personal, professional and spiritual life. 10/10 would highly recommend. Benefits are endless.
Charlotte Smith: Tim & his team are amazing! I started training class with them a few years ago and never looked back. Great program that I've been able to apply not only to work, but my personal life too. Trust the process. It will work for you.
Roger Penn: This team is worth your investment! Amy and the team challenge you to dig deep and get real about your customer relationships. You and your company will grow.
D L: Trustpointe (Tim and crew) challenged my beliefs about sales, people, and process. I went from "winging it" to following a process that isn't stifling or scripted; and that's perfect for me. Sales are up, selling is absolutely fun, pressure is gone, and I'm more skilled at finding the truth. Best money I've spent and I paid for this myself.
Michael Crossley: Tim Roberts is amazing! I recommend this course to everyone. Life changing experience.
Joe Zic: Phenomenal sales training. I can’t speak for the other Sandler programs, but working with Tim and his team is a life changing experience! Definitely recommend for any professional - rookie or veteran - who wants to better himself/herself and live an overall happier life!
Rammy Et-tawil: Will engage you emotionally and make you think about where you want to be in life which will impact your career.
mike k: Great training Tim and his staff are the best
Jeremy Vathy: Easily the best training I’ve gotten during or after school. Really gave me a process and taught me how mediocre I was and how to be better. Definitely worth every penny
Lexie Swan: This program has been life changing. It’s not just sales training it’s also life training. The Sandler way will help you accomplish anything in life that you put your mind to. I highly consider the investment and I know you won’t regret it at the end of the program.
Todd Smith: The whole team at Trustpointe will change your life for the better!
Lee Indy: Trustpointe has adaptable training that they can customize to your business needs. Would certainly recommend for anyone looking for high quality sales training!
EE Evereffect: There's a reason Trustpointe has collected SEVERAL national awards as well as recognition from industry leaders: the staff is DYNAMIC! Geniuses in the area of sales management and consulting. Trustpointe is a true business partner. Kudos to Tim Roberts and his staff!
Brady Gilreath: Tim Roberts is the BEST. PERIOD. You don't know how mediocre your sales team is until you see what Tim's team can do to prepare them for high level sales and sales management performance. You must call him to have him asses your situation.

Eleven Fifty Academy: what do users think?
Hamza Bey: I passed the cyber security course with all of the certifications I set out to get and it was a great learning experience, but “career services” is no help at all with getting a job in the field I studied for. They keep pushing low paying basic IT jobs rather than in cyber security.
Sarah Wright: I was really excited to get started with the web development course in 2021 and heard amazing things from many friends that went through the program. Unfortunately, it was disorganized from the start. I got a text the day before the class was set to start saying that it wouldn't start for 2 more weeks. I really enjoyed the first few introductory weeks of the course. Then, a few weeks into after the initial tuition agreement had been signed, we were informed there would be no web development course and we had to do software development or cybersecurity or drop out. We later found out that most of the staff had been laid off, including my admissions advisor. We also found out that career services, that was a huge selling point for me and other students, did not exist anymore.I decided to stick with the software development course. Many of us were expecting to get a lot of JavaScript experience, but we were then told it would be all C#.The Canvas course was not setup at all when we started, and I felt that we paid thousands for no instruction and tasks to figure out on our own. I understand that independent problem-solving is very important in this field, but we wasted so much time trying to figure out the basics on our own and were given busy-work tasks to fill up our time. When I voiced my concerns to student success, they were all dismissed. I felt like I had been scammed, having put my previous career on hold, and ended up dropping the course.Overall, I had a very unpleasant experience here. The instructors were kind and helpful, but this company is predatory.
Martin Flaherty: Great instructors, friendly staff, and a good mission statement.
Jason Line: I came to EFA with absolutely no tech experience whatsoever and now I'm in a Software Engineering role (loving my job and making great money doing it); all because of what I learned at the school. It works and the curriculum is based around the skills employers actually need.I had never even thought about going into tech (I thought it was mostly for super smart young people), but a co-worker of mine recommended EFA to me. I attended a free course and absolutely fell in love with coding. And thus, I was on my path to a new career. The instructors were great! You can tell they really have a passion for teaching, because, well...with their skills they could certainly make more money somewhere else. So it's nice to know that they really do have your back and best interest at heart.Career Services - I think the negative reviews about CS are mostly due to mismanaged expectations. The biggest benefits of CS is resume writing (they helped me greatly) and getting your resume in front of employers, if the opportunity arises. They also do interview prep, but I never used that service. And I think that is about it. Don't expect to get placed in a job via CS. They can help, but ultimately it's your career, it's up to you to do the work. Having said that, if you've never worked in Tech, you will probably submit a lot of resumes, get a ton of rejection emails, have interviews and then get ghosted, it's just how it is. Breaking into tech is not easy, but if you put in the work and stay the course, you will eventually get there. Network! Network! Network! All in all, I loved my time at Eleven Fifty and I am forever grateful for the skills and training they provided me. I felt like there were some unfair negative reviews; which prompted me to write this...not for them, but for potential future students. Their programs work and I can attest to that, but you still have to have the fortitude and determination to make it work. At the end of the day, it's your career, you get out what you put in it.I hope this helps someone.Only 4 stars, because never give a perfect score. "One bite. Everyone knows the rules" :)
Miguel C: The learning experience was great. That’s all. I unfortunately did not get to pass the course, but that’s not my issue. My issue is that the academy COMPLETELY ghosted me after the classes were over. I’ve been trying for weeks to talk to someone to get a letter stating I was enrolled, but no one ever picks up their phone, returns calls, and not even a slight hint of direction or assistance is given.DO NOT ENROLL HERE. They will take your money, set you up with a cool instructor, and your experience will slowly go downhill from there. My instructor for the first half of the course was luckily pretty awesome; but after him…yeah, no. No thanks. Please, if you (the reader) take reviews seriously: go elsewhere.
Aaron Van Curen: I am writing this review as an EFA Alumni and prior EFA Learning Assistant. Personally, I had a decent experience with the course itself. I had a wonderful Instructor and a great Instructor Trainee. The content offered a good base knowledge. I will say the LAs in my course hardly helped me out but not to say the did not help others. After graduation, the career services was only slightly helpful. I had decent communication at first and my advisor did help create a great resume. However, career services seems to degrade in their communication and does not send any job opportunities after several weeks. I did eventually land a job after ten months but I cannot say EFA career services contributed in any regard to that. I did get a job with EFA as a learning assistant which was a great experience as far as helping students. I never had great communication with anyone within the company unless I was directly working with them which I understood to a point because a lot of people were part-time or had other jobs. Overall, the company, from my perspective, seemed to be unorganized when it came to scheduling and communication. That was my experience. The real issue for me did not occur until January 13th, 2022 when EFA decided restrict my access to my work email and all EFA resources without notice even though my contract was not expired until January 31st. Since then, the communication has gone to zero and they have been very difficult to work with because of the lack of communication. We were essentially ghosted.
Amanda Luedeke: RUN AWAY. The virtual bootcamp experience was a mess. Everything seemed to have been thrown together at the last minute. Now, two months out, we have received ZERO career support. The career person assigned to my husband completely ghosted him. What a joke. This company takes your money (or government money, if you qualify) and leaves you in the dust.
Coobjh: Joke Academy. The staff has poor communication. Instructors have entry-level experience. You better taking an online course instead of registering with them and get stuck with their grading and attending rules.
Ross Fisher: There seems to be massive communication issues between the staff and students. Need to get ahold of your instructor, your advisor, the director or student success for a critical issue affecting your ability to attend class?Good luck. It took a few days to get in touch with anyone even after leaving voicemails and sending several emails. Once they get you enrolled and get their pay, it’s very unlikely you will be able to get ahold of anyone if anything comes up, and then they’ll just remove you from Slack with no explanation. If you miss a day or two of the full time program, you might as well drop out as you are never going to catch up.Save your time and sanity, check out a self led coding platform for $10-20 a month.I also feel as if they should start students out in Python, JavaScript instead of C# to get the fundamentals down, instead of a language that is a dumpster fire with platform dependencies, builds and “Visual Studio”. .NET is 🤮Source: Self taught high school dropout working as a software engineer at six figures for a Fortune 50 company. I encouraged a friend of mine to attend and regret my decision.I’m going to get them setup on teamtreehouse and start them out with Git fundamentals, then onto Python before we go full stack JavaScript.
Paul Fesenmeier: The Eleven Fifty program succeeded in taking me where I was at the time (two online CS courses*, a working understanding of a few programming languages, and enjoying the work) and getting me to a place where I could confidently apply for jobs. The team project experience came up a lot in interviews. Three months after the program I landed a developer position at a great company, where I’m still using many of the skills I picked up here.*CS50 and MIT’s Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python, both available for free on Edx.org
Jordan Shea: I recently attended a CSS/HTML bootcamp hosted by Eleven Fifty! To say I was impressed is an understatement. I was so excited by how it went, I scheduled a meeting with admissions almost immediately. The flexibility they're offering (esp given the pandemic) is perfect for those looking to expand their skill sets.
Aaron Floyd: I graduated from this program in December 2019. I would recommend attending EFA for many reasons! It doesn't matter if you do not how to code, THEY WILL TEACH YOU and bonus- everyone I encountered was very friendly, knowledgeable and eager to share!
