It was so hard finding a left-handed guitar for our little lefty that we were afraid finding an instructor would be another challenge. Thank goodness we found you! The director of the academy was so excited to have a 9 year old lefty! Our daughter's guitar instructor, Nolan has been great, too! We have already told people that they should come here for all their "learning an instrument" needs!

Ramona Taubert: I would highly recommend Daniel Patterson for piano lessons. Daniel is so enthusiastic that my son never had questions and was excited to go to lessons and play piano. We got through one lesson book in under 2 months! Life can be hectic sometimes, but Daniel is very flexible with make up lessons! Mr. Patterson makes piano easy and fun for kids with interactive games and lessons at his studio, so much more fun from when I was a kid.
Amy Nichols: My daughter started with Daniel Patterson at age 6 and has progressed quickly and proficiently in just 7 short months. She loves lessons and is excited to go each week. I was initially skeptical of the group lessons, but it has proven to be so much better than my own childhood experience of traditional lessons. I'm also looking forward to her younger brother joining her within the next year. With group lessons, they can both go at the same time, even if they're on different levels!
Brad McQueen: My son William has experienced great improvement in his level of playing since starting lessons with Mr. Patterson. William had taken piano lessons for several years, but his playing ability has improved dramatically over the last four months. Mr. Patterson does a nice job keeping our son moving along on the pieces, and I think the variety of music and the pace at which the class moves has kept William more engaged in playing piano.

Mr. Daniel is an excellent teacher and he has a good rapport with all his students. He is very involved with each student and also encourages the parents to take an active part in their child's lessons. The students also get to learn fun songs and do fun things along with learning the piano.I would highly recommend this studio to everybody.
Aimee Reisert: My 6 year old son started piano lessons with Daniel at the end of January. He started lessons with just a mild interest in learning piano. He is now always excited and LOVES going to his lessons! Daniel's lessons are challenging and also really fun. Recently he was having so much fun practicing at home he asked if he could skip school the next day he could play the piano and continue his "learning."At the beginning of the year my first grader's school measures his baseline of knowledge in 25 different areas with a goal of 3.0 in each area by the end of the school year. One month into the school year, he was evaluated in music class for singing melodic pattern, reading notes and playing notes scoring a 2.5, 3.0 and 2.0, respectively. One month into the school year and he has just about mastered his first grade music class! This can be fully accredited to what he has learned in his piano lessons.

Viola Grace takes lessons from him and her appreciation of music has grown (and I can actually relax while I listen to her play).If you get a chance, check him out and see some of the "Extra" things he does that make the difference.

jana hennessy: I’ve been going to Doug for about 3 months now and I’ve been improving a ton! I’m confident he would be able to adapt to a bunch of different learning styles. He lets you choose whatever music you want to learn and studies it even when you’re no there to make sure he knows what he is talking about. Going into my first lesson I was nervous as I had barely played guitar and had never gone to a music lesson, but looking back I had no reason to be worried! Doug has been extremely kind and patient with me as I’ve been improving. I highly recommend!

Now, I can play first two positions of the C major scale & Am pentatonic scale. I can play 6 riffs & can play 7 songs (3 totally & 4 without solo).Doug understands the student's needs, and is able to adapt the lessons to support your goals. I always have fun at my lessons.
Heather Witsman: After I decided to take up playing the drums as middle aged female (inspired by Neil Peart of Rush fame ) my first thought was is this even something someone my age could do (i.e am I too old to start or learn music?) As someone who was totally new to music Doug has been a music teacher that explains complexMusic Concepts in an understandable way. While how fast you learn is really dependent on how often you practice Doug helps keep you accountable to your self and moves the lessons along at your pace. He’s patient with Beginners (kids and us Over the hill folks too) and knowledge enough toMove a beginner to an expert on multiple instruments as well as voice, song writing and music theory. Doug is flexible and accommodating and works with your schedule as much as possible he even does virtual lessons now thanks to Covid 🙂. Isaac Capshaw: Father son duo for guitar lessons. Overall great experience. I appreciate the great communication via phone, text, and in person. Lessons are performed in a basement studio that is well set up. Instructor is prepared each week. The only constructive criticism I would mention is that due to it being a basement studio there is no waiting area for parents at the moment. From personal experience and observations if you are not the student you're either waiting in your vehicle or you leave and come back. That would be the one advantage to a store front based studio. However with that said I would not let that sway my decision from attending music lessons here.
Matt Solenberg: I’ve been doing lessons with Doug for the past several months.He has a recommended lesson plan but will change the lessons based on your interests and learning style. I spent a few months learning guitar, then switched to Piano. I’d like to do vocal lessons at some point as well. It’s nice that I can learn whatever I like with one teacher.Prices are very fair and Doug is great about working with your schedule. I’m learning a lot and definitely getting my money’s worth.

I'm in my late 50s beginner guitar so it's never to late to start. You can do lessons online or at his place. During the covid-19 he did everything online to keep everyone safe. Now that things are kinda getting back to normal he has masks and cleans and disinfect the lesson room after every student.

She has gained a lot of confidence and her stage presence has dramatically improved! This has been a great investment and wonderful experience for my daughter. I only wish we would have done it sooner. Even during the Covid pandemic and online lessons my daughter looks forward to her lesson each and every week.
