Sacred Roots Birth and Wellness Center: what do users think?
Loidymaris “Speaks Life” Velazquez: En Diciembre 13 di a luz a mi primogénito aquí en Sacred Roots.
Hannah Marley: I just gave birth to my first at Sacred Roots in early March. Our entire experience there was so positive, and I hope to return if we decide to have a second. I chose this birthing center because I wanted to be the decision-maker when it came to my birthing experience, and the entire staff was so respectful of that. The billing personnel were able to work out a fifteen-month payment plan for us since our finances are tight. I met with each one of the midwives on staff prior to the birth, in order to be comfortable with whoever was on call when I went into labor. Their team approach allowed our family to gain insight from many different people, and we were able to ask questions to different midwives based on their area of expertise. They were also careful to get consent routinely throughout my prenatal care and make sure I was comfortable. As first-time parents, we took their birthing classes (offered both online and in-person), and they made sure both my fiancé and I were well equipped with all the pain management techniques and knowledge needed for a positive natural birth. When the time came for us to head to the birthing center on the day my son was born, the on-call midwife, Grace, arranged to meet us at the birthing center and was ready to go. I had spent most of the day in early labor at home, and when she checked my dilation, she asked whether I wanted to hear a number or not before she told me (5-8cm) so I wouldn’t be distracted. The birthing suite was homey and comfortable. We created the environment I wanted for my birth: dim overhead lights, electric tea lights around the birthing pool, snacks and water when needed, and lots of pillows and support. I was pretty far along at that point, so once we entered the suite it was game on and I slipped into focus. Since my eyes were closed during almost the entire labor, I couldn’t quite tell what was going on at the time, but my doula later told me that there were hands ready to help whenever I asked for it, supporting my limbs, bringing cool cloths for my forehead, suggesting a new position or location whenever I needed it, etc. I was able to move from the tub to the shower to the tub again and finally to the bed, and when I was too tired to climb out of the pool myself, the team helped me up and dried me off quickly en route to the bed.My son was born 3 hours and 15 minutes after we arrived at the birthing center. He was a fair 8lbs 1oz and only caused first degree tearing that didn’t require any stitches. He was never removed from my sight during the aftercare. The staff kindly brought in another midwife who was able to notarize our paperwork since we hadn’t decided on a name before the birth and needed paternity papers. We left the center three hours after the birth, after they made sure I was comfortable walking, cleaned up and able to pee, breastfeeding properly, and had a full meal. The nurse Rachel taught us how to buckle our son into his car seat safely and carried all of our pillows and bags back out to the car. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better birthing experience, and my mom laughed at me when I said, “that actually wasn’t that bad!” moments after pushing him out (and yelling quite loudly). I definitely recommend Sacred Roots to anyone who wants a smooth natural birth!
Tionna Aura: SACRED ROOTS IS MONEY HUNGRY AND I ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND INVITING YOURSELF OR YOUR BABY INTO THIS SITUATION. They may come off one way, but when I spoke with a woman on the phone about my situation ALL SHE DID WAS TALK ABOUT ALL THE MONEY THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE. DO NOT RECOMMEND
Emily Brown: I had an amazing experience at Sacred Roots. They were so helpful in educating me and allowing me to make a decision for myself and my baby. I never felt pressured into a decision. They were amazing too with caring for me during my labor and delivery process. They let me lead and we’re there to support me as I progressed.
Sarah Alvarez: I gave birth to my son at Sacred Roots in May 2022. The care we received was so personal and professional. My whole family has been impressed with the birth center. My grandmother (who is in her late 80s) said, “I’ll have my next baby they way you did!” 😂
Kate D'Imperio: I wanted a very specific labor experience and chose Sacred Roots because they aligned with my vision and the care was phenomenal. I wanted to make sure I felt safe and heard, I wanted my birth philosophy to be respected as much as possible, I wanted to bring my baby into the world in a peaceful environment, I wanted the people around me to be patient and kind.I knew choosing Sacred Roots meant that I was giving up the option for an epidural but I wasn’t scared. Of all the time I spend over-thinking, I could not have been more confident about giving birth with the midwives and nurses at SR. Plus, everyone else who labors there does the same so I had to assume I could too!I am so grateful for the people who were in the room with me during labor. The midwives and nurses at Sacred Roots were so respectful during my labor it meant a lot to me. All of our previously agreed upon labor preferences were addressed, the staff whispered in the dark so I could labor peacefully without interruption or distraction. They did not pressure me to do anything their way or rush me in any way. They gently offered suggestions, always asked permission before doing anything even heart rate monitoring, all of it was so perfect. My after care was also especially important to me. I loved that I felt like I could contact the birthing center with all of my (many!) questions and concerns.Thank you so much!
Cassidy Tyler: The care at Sacred Roots is truly exceptional from start to finish. They value the health of the mother so well and know that the health of baby will follow. Concerns are truly listened to and addressed in a way that will give you confidence heading into labor and knowledge about your body. Also, they are always quick to educate or provide resources to enhance your physical and emotional health as you step into motherhood for the first, 2nd, 3rd....time! I love being a part of the practice there.
Chloe Tillman: I cannot recommend Sacred Roots highly enough! They provided appropriate monitoring throughout pregnancy while still helping me trust the body’s capability. They educated and helped prep for labor, and they respected my choices. When I was a week overdue, they helped me keep perspective (even when I was the grumpiest!). My labor was fairly quick (5 hours from first contraction to baby) and they still got the tub ready in time and coached me as I labored. I could not have asked for better support or a better labor. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Rebekah Myers: Wonderful birth experience. Highly recommend for those looking for the benefits of a home birth, mixed with the safety of having a team of respectful and skilled midwives and nurses.
Diana Hiser: After a completely fine hospital birth experience, I learned I didn't need all the bells and whistles offered at a hospital. For my next two births I went to Sacred Roots. The care and support is unparalleled from what you'll find anywhere else: a small team of midwives who you get to know throughout your pregnancy; education on what to expect and how to prepare for labor and postpartum; research based approaches to "problems" in pregnancy (things that are natural, common occurrences, like babies in breech position); a peaceful, spacious birth center where you're encouraged to labor and deliver as you prefer; being released to return home hours after birth; postpartum visits at your house or at the office where they gawk over your precious newborn. Sacred Roots considered so many facets that just make sense when caring for new moms. I am grateful for a good hospital experience with my first, but my amazing experiences at Sacred Roots have set a new precedent for the level of care I wish every mom could experience.
Casey Schaefer: I can not say enough about how wonderful our experience has been at Sacred Roots with the birth of our son! This was my first all natural water birth experience and the amazing nurses and midwives made us feel prepared, truly cared for, and safe before, during, and after the birth ❤ I would recommend a million times over!
Marissa Nielsen: I can’t say enough how much I appreciate the team at Sacred Roots. I have had reproductive care with two other local practices and this is the first time I felt heard and seen. Angela and her team cared for my baby and I as individuals, walking with us through each step (even when I thought I may have to transfer due to placenta placement.)After a long labor, with adjustments from the team at Sacred Spines next door, I delivered a beautiful and healthy baby girl. We were both treated with care in the hours and days afterward. I plan to have my annual visits and any future children here as well!
Liz Farrington: My birth experience was amazing and a big portion is because of sacred roots. I was able to deliver in their bathtub in the position I wanted. During my labor I was able to move from the shower to the bed and the bathtub. I would not change a thing. If we decide to have more kids we will be using sacred roots again.
Aubrey Keim: The midwifery care I receive here is an unparalleled experience to what I was receiving at my OBGYN office. I am very excited to give birth here for my first child!
Heidi Dinkledine: I've had a fantastic experience with Sacred Roots. They kept me and my baby out of the hospital so that we could be together and go home soon after the birth. They have checked up on us at home and are always ready to help with questions and concerns even in the middle of the night. I would recommend to any low-risk mothers!
Tom: I witnessed mutilation of a healthy baby boy. I would not recommend these people because they are unethical. They are coordinators of human rights violations mutilating baby boys.
Erica Gayle: I am excited to recommend Sacred Roots Midwifery to other moms-to-be looking for a more personal and fulfilling birth experience. Prenatal visits were relaxed and education focused. Midwives and nurses thoroughly explained procedures and supported the choices we made along the way. I was able to have a natural birth, healthy baby and a successful start to our breastfeeding journey. The staff at Sacred Roots help you make the most of those golden hours after birth by allowing instant skin to skin and minimal intervention. Angela, Amy and Megan were all fantastic. I will be happy to return one day for my second pregnancy. I am grateful for such a positive experience and memories that will last a lifetime.-Erica
Alyssa Hile: I have nothing but positive things to say about Sacred Roots. I felt supported, confident, and empowered in making decisions throughout my pregnancy and birth. I truly can’t imagine giving birth anywhere else. The whole team is amazing and makes you feel so comfortable. This was my first pregnancy so I did not know what to expect but everyone walked us through the entire pregnancy and felt prepared for an amazing, stress free birth! 100% recommend and will be back for baby #2!
William Bolton: My wife had our second little one a few days ago here. It was a completely different experience then our first who was born in a hospital. Sacred Roots felt 100% more personal. In the hospital I felt like an inconvenience, here I felt like part of the process. I can't say enough how much better of an outcome this was. Ladies consider this place, your pregnancy won't be treated like a illness.
Ashley Slager: I have absolutely nothing negative to say about my experience (before, during, and after birth) at Sacred Roots! My birth was fantastic--my husband and I felt so comfortable throughout the entire experience. The appointments leading up to my birth eased any anxiety I had about giving birth there. I was very comfortable with all the midwives by the time I gave birth and I felt I was prepared as I could be for this birth. Once my son was born, we were supported and truly felt like we were deeply cared about. I would highly recommend Sacred Roots to anyone looking for an experience that truly prioritizes a mother's comfort and needs!
Josslyn Kennedy: For those looking for a safe, welcoming, and empowering prenatal and birthing experience, Sacred Roots is the clear solution! I can’t express enough how wonderful my entire pregnancy care and delivery was at the birthing center. The staff is well-informed and provides ample decision making power for women to create their optimal, and personal, experience. The midwives do an incredible job supporting safe and healthy pregnancies. Sacred Roots is a tremendous resource for all pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum questions and they stay on top of the latest research and information. Unlike a hospital or “traditional” prenatal care options, the facilities at Sacred Roots are not sterile and impersonal. You truly feel cared for and develop strong relationships with the staff. I reflect on my delivery often and am still astounded by the unique and beautiful experience. I don’t often leave reviews for many services, but I can’t stress enough how great Sacred Roots is for those looking for fantastic care!

Circle City Doula: what do users think?
Ashley Dixon: I purchased the placenta keepsake package from Tamrha, and I couldn’t be more happy with her service. She was very kind and informative from the beginning to the end. The turn around period was also very quick and I really love all of the beautiful pieces she provided me! I love having these items now to remember these special moments with my little one for years to come.
Aaylah Conway: Circle City Doulas is the way to go. I wanted my placenta encapsulated and they offer so many other options as well and are fast with their responses. Ms. Tamrha responded to my inquiry quickly and worked with me financially. Ms. Tamrha came and picked up my placenta from the hospital when the original plan of birth changed and I received the results on the evening of my discharge day. I am very happy with the results. Being a first time mom I haven’t been able to take pictures, but everything down to the instructions are clear and cut and easy for use!
Angela Stoffregen: Tamrha expertly provided invaluable guidance through the most transformative experience our family has ever had. She is incredibly knowledgeable and professional, and from our first meeting, her confidence and passion for her work made me feel assured about something I was bringing a tad too much fear into…childbirth. I *know* she is the best doula in the area. Even our labor nurse commented how impressed she was with Tamrha’s care and engagement in our baby’s birth. It’s not enough to speak only of Tamrha from professional standpoint - I have to add that she is simply a good, kind and caring human. We feel so lucky to have gotten to know and work with her. I hope if you’re reading this that you’ll get to have Tamrha at your baby’s birth too!
Kelsi west: Tamrha made getting my placenta encapsulated soooo easy and stress free after giving birth to my beautiful baby girl!! The turn around was so fast and I was able to get started on my product quickly after birth! Highly highly recommend using CCD! 🙌🏼
Brittany Hale: We had such a wonderful experience with Tamrha. Her support from start to finish was invaluable. The package offered by CCD was everything I needed in addition to things I didn’t even realize that I wanted as part of a birth package. Our family felt so well taken care of by Tamrha.
Elise Swinford: Tamrha at CCD was a lifesaver for my delivery. When my baby came 5 wks early, Tamrha coached me through all the techniques I hadn't learned yet, making me feel safe and confident through medical complications. She is knowledgeable and, even better, an empathetic and skilled communicator.
Ashley Wiley: I can't thank Tamrha Richardson with Circle City Doula enough for her placenta encapsulation services. As a first time mom I wanted to explore this as an option. I wasn't sure exactly what I was doing, it's benefits, etc. However, after researching and talking with Tamrha, I felt completely at ease and excited about the benefits of not only these services but also all the extra that came with these services. From the beginning, Tamrha's communication positive, empowering, encouraging and speedy. She was extremely responsive and her services were not only amazing but they were also quick. Directly after the birth of my daughter, she came directly to the hospital after I called to pick up and then within two days had everything back to me. The quality and care that went into the work she does really shows. Thank you Tamrha and Circle City Doula for your services. I most definitely will be recommending your services to everyone and am looking forward to booking you as my Doula for my next child! :)
Millicent Parsons: We can't praise Circle City Doulas enough! We are first time parents, and I wanted someone with professional birthing experience to support us through an unmedicated birth. My husband was skeptical that we needed anyone besides our midwives. After my long labor with our beautiful daughter, he admitted he had been wrong and was so glad we had hired doulas!I also wanted a doula with experience working with pregnancy after loss parents. Other doulas I talked to didn't fit this criteria, but Tamhra of Circle City Doulas did.Ayla was our primary doula, with Tamhra in the mentor role. During my pregnancy, Ayla always had valuable information and resources to share with me, and Tamhra always had some personal experience to share. That saved me a lot of research time.Ayla was great at anticipating my needs and doing things to help me be more comfortable during labor and delivery. It was easier for my husband to support me with her example to follow. Tamrha had lots of suggestions for better positions to get my stubborn baby moving. They were both incredibly encouraging. In the end, I had the positive birth experience I wanted. I never felt scared or out of control. I felt truly empowered and supported with these ladies there. My husband says we are definitely calling them again for our next birth!
Sylvia Smith: Where to start? I guess I'll start with, "Tamrha at CCD was amazing!". I brought a lot of emotional baggage into this pregnancy and and still had a lot of healing to do from my first birth which was a traumatic, emergency C-section 2yrs ago. Tamrha was incredibly supportive, open and suggested some great resources to help my healing process emotionally. This birth with Tamrha also took place in June 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic. This was hard in so so many ways; but her virtual meetings and support were so helpful, mind-easing and were about as close to an in-person meeting as you could get. She was always available to go over my fears, questions and concerns.Another challenge for me was that I was aiming for a VBAC. Statistically speaking, that shouldn't be a big deal; but I had to seek out a new provider halfway through the pregnancy that was actually supportive of my VBAC, argue with insurance over who were covered providers, worry about which hospitals would have which policies bc of the pandemic etc, and Tamrha supported us through it all. She helped me find VBAC resources, possible providers I might want to interview, stayed up to date on hospital policies and most importantly for me, talked though all of my frustrations and concerns after my many calls with providers and insurance. I don't know that I would have been as comfortable with my providers if Tamrha wasn't there every step of the way.And when it came to the labor and delivery...well she was fabulous. I had surges on and off for weeks before things got really going, and she really helped keep me focused and not let myself feel defeated. And then we had nearly four days of surges that were timable and getting stronger. We waited for them to pick up at any minute which was emotionally and physically exhausting. But having her just a text away to talk to about how I was feeling and what my body was doing and why, was such peace of mind...and when things finally did pick up, she was just a text and call away for both myself and my husband. She helped us gauge where I was at, helped me listen to my body to decide when to leave for the hospital, and when she met us there I was at 8cm, 90% effaced and starting to feel the urge to push. Her support and advocacy in triage was amazing. She helped to amplify my voice and the voice of my husband to help get my needs met. Her words and touch seemed to always be just what I needed to hear or feel just at the right time.I got my unmedicated VBAC, and it was everything I needed and hoped it would be. Tamrha was such a huge part of that accomplishment for me. My husband and I have completed our family so we don't plan to have any more children, but I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a doula in our area!
A F (AF): Director and mentee doulas both breached their duties as expressed in the written contract. Tahmra (director) was EXTREMELY rude to my husband and I while I was in labor at the hospital and almost 4cm dilated. She continued to talk over he and I as we were trying to have a reasonable conversation with her. Trust me, I was in so much pain I didn’t have the energy to even raise my voice in response to her flat out ignorance. She was extremely aggressive, dismissive, did not listen to our concerns and quite honestly was outright unreasonable to speak to as far as having a mature/adult like conversation. Mentee doula (Dita) and Tahmra both refused to answer our phone calls after several requests from us to have them come in and assist with our labor and post labor experience (as required by the legal contract that we signed).Be prepared for this staff to be very difficult if you happen to be induced towards the end of your pregnancy AND if your induction happens to move VERY quickly. Tahmra seemed to be a know it all stating that in her 12 years experience she’s never seen inductions take place quickly. Well, mine did and the staff and I were all pleasantly surprised that my labor did not last long at all. Our labor nurse actually told us she was confused as to why our doula was not present from the very beginning of us arriving at the hospital for my induced labor, she said that seemed to be the protocol for other doula services she had witnessed. I tried to explained to Tahmra several times that my induction was progressing quickly but she continued to speak over me. It even got so bad that I told her she could speak with my nurse to confirm the information I was telling her and to basically support the fact that I was progressing through my labor induction very quickly. But Tahmra declined. Tahmra also downplayed the fact that I was having contractions while on the phone with her. When in reality her clownish tendencies were actually distracting me from the uncomfortableness of my contractions that I was experiencing back to back to back due to the medication I had received for my labor to kickstart (thanks by the way it was quite entertaining!). Tahmra continued to tell me that I was not in active labor which is why the doulas were not going to come to the hospital to assist me.On the other hand, I can say that we had a WONDERFUL birthing experience thanks to our solid birthing team and my amazing doctor. I birthed our BEAUTIFUL baby girl just 6 hours later thanks to God, my husband, our family, our awesome OB and the hospital staff. I’m glad that my husband and I were able to enjoy our beautiful labor and delivery experience regardless of the background drama. These issues will not go unaddressed, but for now we will enjoy our holiday season with our new beautiful and growing family! I would proceed with these services with more than 1 million percent caution especially if there is a possibility of being induced in your pregnancy. By the way, I did not know that I would be induced until 4 days before my induction date and I informed the doula of this right away. There’s no reason we should have had the terrible experience that we had. But, all things work together for good, we believe, and we know that for whatever reason this experience allowed us shift footing very quickly in order to preserve the special moment of birthing our beautiful baby girl!IN RESPONSE TO BELOW: Why would we pay $650 to not have our doula present at our birth? We did not provide any written statements that would have amended the contract we signed. We have several texts and phone calls requesting our doula’s presence since 4 days before our induction date.
Jessica Kuester: We had a wonderful experience with Tamrha, including an induction that dragged on for days and then suddenly moved very quickly. Tamrha was responsive when we texted while waiting for labor to get established, and then she came to the hospital as soon as I asked her to come. She was calm and confident during my labor and delivery. I would highly recommend Tamrha!
Chandice Tyson: I don’t know where to even begin when it comes to expressing my deepest gratitude for Tamhra. To say that she helped me to accomplish ALL of my birth preferences is truly an understatement. Tamhra has a heart of gold. Her level of professionalism, knowledge, and experience coupled with the genuine care, compassion, and love that she showed towards my family and I is literally bar none. She went over, above, and beyond to make sure I had not only had a pleasant experience with her services, but also a pregnancy full of peace and joy. Every single time I had a question or concern, she gladly answered with a prompt response. When it came time for my delivery, I had an induced labor which progressed extremely quickly. My husband gave Tamhra a call, and she was at the hospital in what seemed like minutes. Let me tell you, had it not been for Tamhra, I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that I would not have been able to achieve my goal of a natural delivery. While there were a lot of moving parts during my delivery, she set an atmosphere for me that was so peaceful and relaxing. She knew exactly what to do in order to help get my baby in the best position for delivery. When I got to the 9cm stretch, I remember being so exhausted and in pain that I wanted to give up. I looked at her and in the weakest voice possible told her that I couldn’t do it anymore. Her exact words to me were, “You’re doing it.” Those three words were SO powerful to me in that moment, because it was then that I realized I really was doing it. Not even 5 minutes later and with only two pushes, I birthed my beautiful healthy baby boy. If you are looking for a Doula service who is not only passionate about what they do, but one who also really, truly, and genuinely cares about you and your baby, look no further. I promise you that selecting Circle City Doulas will be one of the best decisions of your entire life!!!!
Jessica Zajac, MHA: I highly recommend Circle City Doulas! I had a very long and difficult labor with my son and our doula Tamrha was by my side supporting me through all of it. I labored naturally and she helped keep me focused on my guided meditations, kept me moving through new positions, and helped me speak up when there was an issue with some overly chatty staff during shift change in my room. Our birth wasn't exactly what I had envisioned due some slight complications, but Tamrha helped us talk through the options that were being for our situation. We had a healthy baby and a happy momma at the end of it. I felt so empowered in all of the decisions we had to make. Tamhra's support was incredible and I would recommend the support of Circle City Doulas to any expecting or postpartum family.
Christopher Gatti: What better way to welcome a baby Earthside then with the love and care you recieved from CCD. Labor can be a crazy and confusing time. With CCD you'll feel safe and secure knowing these wonderful doulas are at your side.
Jarrah H.: Circle City Doulas, LLC has assisted in both of my daughter's birth. This is a top notch company and the full range of services they offer is second to none. As a dad, I was able to be with both my daughters in the NICU, while Tamrha tended to my wife. If you're seeking doula services, that care about dads mental and emotional health, hire Circle City Doulas, LLC. If you're seeking a doulas services, that truly cares about mother and baby's health, hire Circle City Doulas, LLC. Most importantly, if you wish to just have someone there to support you through your pregnancy, look no further than Circle city Doulas, LLC.~One Happy Papa
Mandy Mechenbaker: We are actual clients of this agency and Tamrha specifically. Tamrha was our doula when we had our first child a couple years ago. We have nothing but LOVE for her and this agency. She was a phenomenal support and is extremely knowledgeable which is what you want in a doula. Both my husband and I are so thankful for her and all she has done for us. She is the best!!!On a side note, It saddens me greatly to read some of these negative reviews of people that aren't even clients and are just trying to destroy the reputation of this agency. You may disagree with this agency's stance or belief and are free to choose a different doula and move on. This is a free country. However, I do not think it's ok to tarnish someone's reputation like this. Business reviews should be actual reviews of a business and their services, not a place to merely voice your disagreement. It's unprofessional at best and it's hateful at worst.
Debbie Holman: The wonderful people that work here are there for ALL women at all times in their pregnancy journeys whatever it entails. They don’t judge..... they empower, support, comfort, advise, advocate and most of all love. They truly care about women and the pregnancy journey, whatever that looks like.
Danielle Shaw: A Doula experience is one that mothers should take into consideration because of the spiritual journey you take with the birthing of a child. Tamrha and the ladies of circle city do just that. They exemplify great service, honesty in the path you take, and supportive of your birthing plan. It takes someone so special and so loving to make a difference in a pregnant woman's life. As a health care profession who has seen and lived the experience I can for one say having someone like these beautiful and caring individuals by your side is worth every moment. Thank you for your loving spirit and for spreading that love amongst the community!!
Michelle Bess: Tasteless.
Ministry To The Magistrate: From their Facebook page on 5-28-19 They provide services for aborting moms."Abortion doulas work to normalize the termination process from start to finish. ...An abortion doula is a compassionate and empathetic bystander whose presence and involvement is determined solely by their client and their needs."
Andrea Dawn: Tamrha is an amazing person that truly cares for her clients and humans alike. She is knowledgeable in her practice and if I could have another baby I'd be honored to have her by my side through it!

Indiana Birth & Parenting: what do users think?
Katie Nelson: As first-time parents, we were concerned about who could help take care of our 6-week-old newborn during our wedding, which was a full day event. We didn't feel comfortable with a regular babysitter, so we spoke with Amy and Jordan about our needs and they hooked us up with doula Tiffany. Wow! Tiffany made us feel so comfortable on our big day and took care of every detail with our daughter so we wouldn't worry (as new parents typically do). Would highly recommend!
Indira Bhavsar: As a family of busy professionals (with a too short maternity leave), we were actively looking for help with our baby. As a new mom and first-time parent, I was scared to let someone into our home to help me do things I felt I should be managing on my own. I quickly cast aside my insecurities when I met Amy. She was a great sounding board for my mama questions - how do I wrap a swaddle? what do I do for her gassiness? is she ready to go up another ounce?. She also treated our baby like family, which reinforced our decision to hire IBP. I am grateful to Amy, who quickly transitioned from doula to friend to family, and recommend IBP without reservation to any and every one.
Tee Kay: My husband and I were very pleased with the Sibling Doula services that they provided. They were very professional and flexible with their schedule. Above all they took great care of our 2 yr old for the whole duration of our hospital stay.
Kurt Luidhardt: My wife and I are first time parents. Additionally, we own our own business. So we were desperately in need of support both during birth and after. Jordan hung with us throughout a long 3-day birth. Then both Jordan and Amy were with us for baby Ellie's first four months. We already miss them.
Denise Boo: Amy and Jordan are just the best! When I really needed help postpartum, they responded to my inquiry immediately and was able to come out and help me within days. Jordan showed my baby and kids so much love and till today still gives me advice and support. Could not recommend them enough!
Courtney Summitt: It’s difficult for me to not get emotional when I think about how much Amy and Jordan have helped and supported me in the time I’ve known them - they mean THAT much to me. Amy attended the births of both my sons. My first son is an angel who was born still at 22+ weeks gestation, and my second son is here earthside, now 2 months old! While I hope anyone reading this never ever needs bereavement support, the care these ladies gave me.. support in the hospital and preparing me for the things to come, recommendations for grief counseling, other various resources, and attending Walk to Remember with me.. truly impacted the course of my life. I would not be where I am today without receiving this care.As far as pregnancy, birth prep, and postpartum support, these ladies do it ALL. And they go above and beyond! They’re attentive, truly listen, and empower you in a gentle, beautiful way. When I got really desperate struggling with breastfeeding, they had an IBLC see me within 24 hours. When I was struggling with some sleep concerns/nighttime routine, Jordan came to stay over just two nights later. They are constantly working to share the best info, blogs, social media posts, referrals, etc to make their community as best it can be. They are such a blessing, and I feel so lucky to have received their care. Thank you, Amy and Jordan ♥️
Brielle Pollak: Three weeks ago my husband and I had our first baby. Our journey to parents would not have been the same without Amy and Jordan. I had just entered my third trimester when I started looking to hire a doula. I came across Indiana Birth & Parenting after doing what seemed like hours of research online and instantly fell in love with Amy and Jordan. Their approach to doula care was exactly what we were looking for - honest, empathetic, loving, and direct. Being this was my first pregnancy, I had a ton of questions about it all, as did my husband. Each one was wholeheartedly welcomed and answered with patience and a wealth of knowledge. Taking away the unknown was extremely helpful for us and we have Amy and Jordan to thank for that. Amy was with me during labor and, just as the two of them had done with everything leading up to that day, she made my experience what it was. Despite a few small scary moments during my labor, Amy made me feel safe the entire time. My husband was able to really be present during the process because of Amy’s reassurance and advise. I had a great relationship with my doctor and the hospital was amazing but Amy shined and was a true advocate for us all. The expertise, experience and love didn’t end at the hospital. Since welcoming our son, Amy has also done several postpartum shifts and has continued to be extremely helpful. We recently moved to a new city but despite the distance, I am still in contact with her almost daily with new questions. I may even make up questions when I run out of them just so we stay in contact! Amy and Jordan are my baby fairy godmothers and they will forever be part of our family.

Maternity Care and Birthing at Ascension St. Vincent Women's Indianapolis: what do users think?
Ashley Sosbe: Awful place to deliver. Sincere lack of consideration for the patient.
Ben Randall: Nurses lied to me about the care of my infant. other nurses proceeded to treat it as if it were a joke that I was upset with the lack of quality care. The nurses are also all on different pages with quality. when my wife was transported from one side to the other she was nearly bumped into a wall corner several times. The nurses also spent a lot of time joking about their lack of attention to detail and quality. Just an overall awful experience. If you care about the quality of treatment your spouse and child will receive you are better off avoiding Saint Vincent's.
Tonya Brown: I was transferred to this hospital due to complications during labor. I could not ask for a better hospital to have my son at. The doctors and nurses were all absolutely amazing... Such caring and amazing people in this birthing center.. Not gonna lie i had very high expectations when it came time for delivery. Then when margrat mary hospital sent me to this hospital i was nervous that they wasnt gonna be good with my son after he made his arrival. But let me tell you they went above and beyond my expectations... And made you feel as comfortable as they possibly could while i was in labor and when it came time for delivery.. The cafeteria is open 24/7 as well so that was a bonus too...lol... My personal experience with this hospital is defintely a 5 🌟.... Such wonderful caring nurses and doctors here!!!

Women’s Care Center: what do users think?
Syd: AmazingCouldn’t have hired better people
dave baise: I don’t know where to begin w this place, 5 stars absolutely fantastic place. A true gem for the community! The fact they offer free ultrasounds and pregnancy tests is already a HUGE deal but on top of that they have parenting classes and every class attended(in person and virtual)you get 1 coupon (2 if both parents attend) coupons that can be spent in their baby store and they have LOTS of stuff that doesn’t cost unrealistic coupons. (I seen Packages of diapers for 1 coupon) they can help on SO MANY different aspects so definitely give them a look over and keep them in mind.
Mackenzie Brown: The only place that I was able to come into when I first found out I was pregnant! I didn’t have insurance, no money, and they took great care of me. Set me up with EVERY resource you can think of. Put me in contact with all the right people. And the sweet lady who helped me during my visit even went out of her way one evening to message my personal number just to make sure I was doing okay! This is one of those places that you’ll always remember. Truly a blessing & they deserve ALL the recognition! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 10/10
Zaira Araiza: very caring staff! they are so supportive! I love their in person classes, you get to meet new moms
Mackenzie Burnett: I absolutely loved going to the women’s care center. Everybody that works there is so warm and welcoming. They listen to your concerns and help provide resources for your problems. My favorite thing is the educational classes that they offer. The classes are very informative and you are able to gain coupons from them and use in the baby shop. I’d recommend this place a million times!
Brittany Jones: We have been here on serval occasions and every single time the staff has been AMAZING! Rachel did our ultrasound and was so sweet! Erica is who helped us last showing us around and helped us with our crib store coupons! They help you make sure you have all the resources and support you need with their parenting classes, coupon store, as well as free donations to take.Thank you so much for being such a wonderful resource for our family.
Rachel Ragland: What an amazing place.Highly recommend.
Angelica Dunbar: I would recommend this center over and over again! My partner and I felt so welcome and the center is so cozy! Every person I came into contact with was genuinely so nice and showed they cared! Just the difference in this care center compared to some doctor offices is mind blowing! They are super helpful and give you opportunities for free items like high chairs, diapers, plenty of clothes, cribs, car seats and anything else you could think of! On top of the free services they provide! If you can get there, you won’t regret it! I live an hour away and would rather go here than any building/OB closer to home! I knew based off the phone call to schedule my appointment that this place would be amazing and they did not let me down!
Addyson “MarineGirl8” Rance: The staff here is very kind, welcoming, judge free, and helpful. The environment is warm and comfortable, safe feeling.

CITYOGA School of Yoga and Health: what do users think?
Jessica Thomas: Unfortunately I had to stop going to City Yoga due to their terrible cancelation policy. Note, if you book a class and need to cancel for any reason - even days before the class - they will not credit you that class. All sales since February 20th are final and considered a donation to the studio if you cannot attend.
Kimberly Hart: This is one of my favorite places in Indianapolis to practice yoga. I experienced excellent teachers and a beautiful sense of community. I highly recommend it.
Steve E: With so many great options for yoga in Indianapolis, I would suggest you are far more likely to have a positive experience elsewhere.
kathy zoppi: Thank you for a great class today, Kiana.I truly appreciated your teaching and gentle guidance!!Cityoga is wonderful, clean space, thoughtful teachers, accessible and fun.
Elizabeth Birmingham: Critical:Communication,Professionalism
kathy myers: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityJoined a class while in town visiting, staff was very kind in scheduling, Erica was patient and encouraging to my beginner practice
Laura Riggan Feltner: Normally, I would give this place a better rating and used to consider it my favorite studio. However, the communication is not good. I paid for a workshop that included a book. I was unable to attend, as Covid came to my home. I contacted the studio on three separate attempts with leaving voice messages and sending email to ask if I could enroll in another workshop, or at the least, receive the book I paid for. I have yet to receive a response from any of my attempts, and my $70 is in the wind. While I don't expect a refund, the consideration of a response and any other options or opportunity to pick up my book would have been appreciated for my $70. I am now hesitant to sign up for anything else, as I had to save for the one I already paid for and cannot afford to pay for nothing. I hope this prompts the studio to do better by those of us who were loyal supporters.
Marlaina Killey: Fantastic yoga studio!!!
Diana Ingemanson: This place consistently offers a wide range of yoga. My first restore yoga class last night with Andrea, was just what my mind and body needed. I found space within my body that I didn't know had tightened up. Breathing into spaces
A Hodges: So glad to be back!
Shaun Blair: CitYoga has the BEST vibes, the best classes, community, instructors, schedule and variety I've found anywhere in Indy! Both locations are in convenient yet low traffic areas and they have classes to suit all tastes. There are several classes each day that fit my schedule so I can choose based on how I'm feeling. Some days I go to a hot class and sweat it out and other days I choose more slow, restorative options. Sometimes I'll do a class that's the perfect combination of the two. They also have a great monthly unlimited rate so some days I do both! Regardless of the level of the class, there's always space to breathe deeply, zero judgment and a welcoming feel. The rooms and staff are accommodating and parking is free and abundant. Two of my favorite after work wind-downs are Tara's Restorative Flow on Tuesdays at 5:30 and Randi's Stress Relief on Wednesdays at 6:00. Both are at the 64th & Hoover location which is a beautiful sanctuary ideal for nurturing yourself. The Central Ave location reminds me of my first yoga home in California with its clean, spacious rooms and community feel. I love that the teachers are diverse, their classes offer variety and they encourage me to take care of my individual needs!! Finally, I have found a local studio where I can really bReAThE in my practice and make my flow my own while being supported, guided and inspired. The owner, Dave, teaches classes and teacher trainings and he truly practices what he teaches. I feel very fortunate to have found this studio.
Keri Brantley: EDITED: I'm happy to report that a lovely employee (Erica) of City Yoga called me shortly after I posted this review. She could tell I was frustrated and was not going to let me hang up before making the situation right. (Originally, I was told I would have to make a three month commitment if I were to purchase a New Student Unlimited Month pass). She asked me to let her call the owner, who informed her they had just changed their policy and that I could indeed purchase the pass. Last evening, not only was I able to purchase my pass, I was able to attend a Stress Relief yoga class (my mat, right next to Erica) taught by Lisa Daughtery, which was fantastic! I'm anxious to try out more classes at this studio!_________________I would love to tell you about my experience here… However, I’ve been calling for the last three days and have left two voicemail messages and no one has called me back. I have a gift certificate to redeem that I received for my 50th birthday. Sadly, they must be busy enough they don’t need my patronage.
Amy Courtney: I think this is the best studio in the city!! They clearly care deeply about the practice of yoga (many class types, classes/workshops, also meditation). They have fantastic teachers and class offerings. I especially recommend the Friday night hot yoga class! Lisa D is fabulous!!
Laurie Sutter: I’ve taken the Sunday morning Kundalini Yoga classes and highly recommend it to those who are beginners or experienced. Such a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere to raise your vibration! 💗
Amy Ward: My beloved CITYOGA! I have been learning and growing in my practice here for over two years. Throughout my time here, I have tried several other local yoga studios and I keep coming back. There is just something here- great community, sound teaching and technique, convenient class times and good seasonal deals on class passes. My favorite instructors are Adrienne and Lisa D, but there are so many great teachers with diverse class offerings. I've read some reviews about their experience not being beginner friendly or what they hoped for. I'd encourage any new yogi to call and ask for good classes to try. And definitely let your instructor know your newish. I have always found them to be accommodating. If you try a class that you don't like, pick another one. They have the best new member rate around so you can try them all!
Roger Moore: This afternoon, I had the great fortune of taking a three (3) hour yoga, meditation, and wellness workshop at City Yoga. It workshop was led by Dave, who also happens to be the studio's owner. It was my first time at the studio as well as learning techniques for mediation. It was amazing! Dave was very knowledgable and personable. He made the three hours go by so fast. I enjoyed the guided practice, the positive energy of participants, and the studio space. I feel great and definitely plan to return. If you are looking for a great experience, make sure you check out City Yoga!
Audra McClelland: Spacious studio with multiple class rooms and a nice lobby. The Sunday morning kundalini class is my favorite!
Christine Hudson: Cityoga is my favorite place in Indy to practice! The classes and teachers are diverse enough to encompass different styles of yoga, different tastes and preferences and varying fitness levels. If I'm in the mood for a traditional, quiet, contemplative practice, I can do that. If I'm in the mood for a loud, intense and sweaty workout, I can do that too! The monthly and holiday themed pricing specials are great and the $10 community classes on Sundays make it accessible to everyone!
Matt Gindhart: Great place to do yoga
Janet Nabring-Stager: Visited this studio while in Indy for work and was very pleased with the class I attended. I think the instructor was the studio owner.Very welcoming vibe, clean facility, and very nice students in the class to boot! Highly recommend.
Emma Hudelson: I've been coming to Cityoga 5-6 days a week for about eight months now, and it has been deeply rewarding on a spiritual and physical level. I wound up settling on Ashtanga for my daily practice, but they offer a wide variety of classes, including hot yoga and Kundalini, and they bring in internationally-recognized names for workshops and events. It is refreshing that there is a local studio that offers traditional classes taught the same way they would be in India. They offer competitive package pricing, a welcoming environment, and a vibrant community of friendly yogis. As a bonus, I have gotten nonstop compliments on my "Michelle Obama arms" since I started classes there...so much for yoga erasing the ego!
