The Orchard School: what do users think?
Alicia LaMagdeleine: I teach and work in a high school, so when my wife and I were first expecting our daughter, I spent a lot of time thinking of who she might become when she became a high school student. I thought of all the students I was teaching, or had taught in the past, and tried to envision which of them I would want her to be like. Who were the most intellectually confident? The most comfortable? The most curious and kind? Many of the students I thought of most were Orchard graduates. From then on, Orchard would be our school. Now, what makes Orchard 'worth it' to me is joy of learning it brings to my daughter. It is the moment when she asks a question about something she's learned in school because she's seen something in the real world that relates to it. So when we walk by budding plants in the spring and she is able to compare those sprouts to the observations she's making about a mystery plant in the greenhouse, that's when I know she's developing the skills of a life-long learner and steward of the world that will serve her well in the future.
Dawn K. Batson: Wonderful school and community.
Kelly Fehsenfeld: We recently joined the Orchard School this winter from Florida. Everyone at Orchard has made us feel as though we joined a family. My twins, age 5, wake up everyday thrilled to go to school. Orchard is giving them the platform to enjoy learning, grow from their mistakes, discover their passions, and develop confidence in their abilities. It is truly a wonderful school. We love Orchard!
Jennifer Shin: The Orchard School is a very special place led by an extraordinary group of teachers, faculty, staff and parent community who all understand and embody the importance of child-centered academic excellence in everything they do. We feel grateful to be a part of such a warm and loving place for our children to learn and thrive and become confident, kind, global-minded citizens. We love it and encourage anyone who has high expectations for their children's education to take a tour.
Brandon Sorge: As someone who does education research, I am not only happy with the growth of my child in the STEM subjects but as an inquisitive and engaged learner.
Cathy Rooney: All three of our children attended The Orchard School. We are very pleased with the education they received and so are they. I've often tried to sift through all our years and determine what they most learned/received at Orchard and if I had to pick one attribute (and there are many), I'd pick confidence. They are all confident public speakers. For example, when my daughter was a junior in high school, she won an award that required her to speak at a dinner with over 400 people present. I tried several times to get her to practice and review her speech in advance, knowing that the previous recipient had a professional speech writer. In frustration, one evening she said, "Mom, I went to Orchard. Don't worry." She delivered a flawless speech without notes. They are all confident about their ability to learn. Orchard likes to say they help create life long learners and they do. Each of our children knows how to learn and they like to learn. They are all confident expressing themselves to anyone. In high school, their teachers observed that unlike many shy teens they were not afraid to ask questions and advocate for themselves or for others. And, this has continued throughout their college and post-graduate years. Orchard invites and teaches children how to respectfully approach adults. At Orchard education is not just about science, English, history, etc. While these are important, it's also about helping develop good people and preparing them for the future.
RayMond “Rayray” Jonesey: My muah booboo justb loved it
Grant Kirsh: EXCELLENT school!!!
rana berry: The Orchard School has been an amazing experience for our family. I have 2 children here--tried it out one year for our oldest child and after that year, was so impressed, enrolled my younger child as well. Their progressive approach to education taps into every aspect of what a well rounded child needs: math, science, technology, literature and current events in addition to foreign language, physical and outdoor education, travel, and character. The teachers and administrators truly get to care for each child and are free to do what they love. The staff excels at their work and the students respond with excellence. Every morning my kids look forward to school and often want to stay longer! What a magnificent place--every child should have the opportunity for such a well rounded and excellent education.
A Weisenbach: Awful school. They don't teach anything of value and do not prepare the majority of students for high school. Outdoor education should not be part of Orchard's core curriculum.
Kristy Garcia: Orchard has been a wonderful experience for our daughter and our family. We feel Orchard has and will continue to allow our daughter to develop her skills and talents to the best of her ability. She loves going to school everyday and at a very young age is learning how to advocate for herself and problem solve with her peers. Her teachers are wonderful and work very purposefully to focus on hands-on learning in their classroom. We love our school!

Fortune Academy: what do users think?
jimiwheels: This school has changed our daughter’s life!
Sarah Alley: The Fortune Academy is a wonderful school located in Lawrence, IN, on Lawton Loop Drive. It is a small school that is focused on teaching about 80-100 students who have dyslexia. This learning difference affects 1 in 5 people, so having a school like this is very important to start overcoming the challenges as early as possible.I am a substitute teacher here and have been since about 2011. Fortune Academy is housed in an old church building in Ft. Harrison in Lawrence, which gives it a certain homey feel. The atmosphere is very inviting and friendly and you can tell as soon as you walk in the doors that you are in a good place. Teachers and students alike are friendly and you are treated as an equal no matter who you are. The building is very clean and well kept and everyone really takes pride in keeping it that way. When you enter the front door you are in the main office and will be greeted by a friendly receptionist or maybe a teacher or student helper. The main difference between Fortune Academy and other schools is that, because they only teach students who have dyslexia, they teach using the Orton-Gillingham approach, which involves hands on learning as well as repetition and other visual and auditory styles. The classrooms are small, which lends to small class sizes--no more than about 5 in the lower school and no more than 9-10 in the high school. This allows teachers to be able to focus more attention on helping students in specific areas and give one-on-one attention where needed. The students learn all of the usual subjects--math, science, social studies, art, music, etc., but they also have daily lessons in Orton-Gillingham (OG), where they focus on learning and practicing letter sounds/blends, spelling, reading and how words are formed (morphology of words). This gives them a good foundation to be able to form thoughts and sharpen skills in writing and reading. I highly recommend this school for any student who struggles with language/word recognition and speech.

Indianapolis Spanish Place: what do users think?
Monica Henkel: I have been taking classes here for over a year, and I love it! The teachers are very fun and knowledgeable. I love that the learning is focused on being able to communicate and feel comfortable with reading, listening to, and speaking Spanish, not on perfection. Instructors are patient and have a variety of teaching techniques to make learning fun.
esinath kwenda: Their classes are not geared for somebody who doesn't know any Spanish it is a waste of money. I did a class and I was so intimidated that we were reading sentences on the first day for a beginner. If you don't know any Spanish please don't waste your money, word of advise.
Pauline Cappel: Positive:Communication,Quality,ValueI am currently taking my 4th session at ISP. I have had 2 different teachers and both were amazing! I love the small class sizes and it’s a really good price for the individual attention you receive! I appreciate that they are following COVID guidelines and making sure each student is comfortable with the changes in place.
Nathan Alvey: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI've been going to Indianpolis Spanish Place for almost a year and completely enjoy the classes. The teacher is extremely patient and very good. I would highly recommend this place for anyone interested in learning Spanish. They have several class options for different skill levels so you can learn ar your own pace.
Mary Russell: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueClasses were great! ❤️
Ryan Davis: Doesn’t even deserve one star!Very disappointed. Signed up for an in person immersion class. When signed up the protocol called for a small in person class that will encourage mask wearing. Was a little upset when there was a required question about whether or not we were vaccinated.Low and behold an email came later that they are planning on splitting the classes to online and in person, vaccinated people. There wasn’t enough room for the online class, so then they just said the immersion in person class can’t be taken without a vaccine because they want to be maskless. No other options were explored, or even mentioned. So sad that there is this discrimination in the world still.
Courtney Buratto: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Value
Justin B.: The teacher there is amazing, she has all the patience in the world and more importantly she makes the classes fun.

Sylvan Learning of South Indianapolis: what do users think?
Bernadette Ayers: Sylvan Learning Center of South Indianapolis is a great place for children to learn. Sylvan takes time to figure out what level each child is at and works consistently to fill in the educational gaps. The staff is awesome and gives unconditional encouragement to all the students. The staff has created a welcoming and positive learning environment. They have gone above to find motivators to help my son to be successful. The students get rewarded for their hard work by earning tokens to buy items from the store. In a short few months my son went up four reading levels at school. Sylvan is a great program where children can learn in a positive environment.

Deblina Sharma: I am extremely happy with the school. The teachers are great, really like the curriculum and my daughter just loves it. She will be going to Grade 3 this year and I am happy with the foundation the school offers. While our job demands us to relocate, we still took a decision to stay in the city because of the school and travel instead.

Heritage Christian School: what do users think?
Roz Rankin: My daughter and I been apart of the Heritage Christian family for about a month now. We came from another private school (3 years) and public school (3 weeks), and all I have to say, I was the best decision yet. I drive 40 minutes to a hour each way and do regret one minute of it. At Heritage, my daughter has learned to be a disciplined, independent person, to love God, learning is fun, and not have to fear being bullied by other students or by her teachers. Every person in the Heritage community is very genuine. Not only do they take interest in the child, but the whole family.
Michael Johnson: Heritage is a place where the Administration, the Teachers, and the Staff are consumedwith taking a student where he is Academically, Spiritually, and Socially, and taking him farther than the student ever thought they could go.Students are loved not only while they are attending but also YEARS after they have graduated. My Soccer/Basketball Coach from 48 YEARS ago is STILL interested in what I am doing, how the Lord is working in my life, etc.. Being a "retired" Eagle has been a highlight of my life. I find myself thinking back to the MANY principles that HE taught.
April W: Our family loves this school! Our son was being bullied at public school so we gave Heritage a try and are extremely pleased. The teachers legitimately care about their students and the school has bent over backwards to accommodate our sons special needs. Academically Heritage's scores consistently surpass most of the other schools in the area, so we know he is getting quality education as well!
Scott Simpson: We are extremely pleased with HCS. Our 4 graduates of HCS were well prepared for college and excelled both academically and spiritually.
John Armes: I graduated from Heritage Christian School in 1974... The Bible verses I learned, the personal attention I was given by attentive and caring teachers, the Godly inspiration I received as a student helped form my Christian world view I have now... Thru my life's struggle between right and wrong even to today, what I learned at Heritage has been a benefit to me because God has been ground into my thoughts, actions, and my world view... Bible verses that I learned at Heritage seem to come back to me at times when I need them throughout my life... At times I was very rebellious, but the values I learned at Heritage help pull me back into submission to Christ... Why am I saying all this... You just can't say enough about a Christian education in a world of school shootings, immorality, and rebellious students... At a school like Heritage there is a lot less of it there... If you want your kids to grow up with Christian values and a Christian worldview than look no further than Heritage... My biggest review to Heritage is perhaps my life. A school like Heritage doesn't just teach kids about math, english, and science. It teaches kids how to think logically, morally, and Godly... It's schools like Heritage that teaches kids how to survive in a increasingly rebellious and permissive society, and that changes lives for the better... You learn things in Christian school that you won't learn in public school... I'll stake my life on it.....
Chris Sarver: We have several children at Heritage, and they love it there. Not only are they developing academically and intellectually, but they are also growing in their depth of character and love for Christ. As parents, we love HCS. The teachers deeply care about the students and are excellent educators as well!
Gary Roebbelen: My family is blessed to be part of Heritage. One son graduated from Heritage this year and went off to college, where he was fully prepared for everything that came his way. My other son (a junior) is thriving with great friends, challenging extracurriculars (robotics and orchestra), small classroom sizes, and caring faculty and staff.
Kenton Brittny: Wonderful school!
Tami Crabtree - HS Guidance Counselor: HCS teachers really care and go the extra mile for students!
Abbey Cole: We are new to HCS this year but have been amazed at how quickly the HCS community welcomed our family and made us feel right at home!
John Rihani: Our oldest has been at Heritage for the past three years (in her fourth) and we've had an overwhelmingly positive experience. Caring teachers who are invested in the lives of their students, rigorous academics, and an environment in which God is at the center - these are all the reasons we continue to invest in HCS. Our youngest will start her journey next fall!
Erin Byrne: I went to Heritage for 12 years and absolutely loved it. Receiving a Christian education was one of the biggest gifts my parents gave me. The teachers there are like none I have ever heard of from other schools. They genuinely care about you, your grades, and personal life. It isn't just a job to them. Now I am a sophomore in college and I can tell you the English department at Heritage specifically prepared me in a HUGE way for college and professional-level expectations. I am so glad I went to Heritage and would not have wanted to go anywhere else. Heritage offers academic, spiritual, social, and athletic opportunities like no other school. With the recent articles saying that Heritage is the best college-prep school in Central Indy, I'm not surprised at all. I would highly recommend considering this school for your child if you are trying to choose.
HCS Class of 2007: Go eagles!
Jan Eyster: I taught at Heritage in various roles for 18 yrs. There is a sense of family among the staff and a love for their students. Subjects are taught with a Biblical Worldview. They have various options available for educational support as well: Learning Differences, Gifted-Talented, Assisted Study Hall and Search and Teach, to name a few.My son graduated from HCS in 2015, and my daughter just graduated in May (2017). Heritage will always hold a special place in my heart.-Jan (Pickrell) Eyster
Karla Katterhenry: I love Heritage Christian School with its emphasis on a Christian education as well as its academic excellence. HCs teachers exhibit Christ's love in their daily lives, thus setting examples for their students to follow! My two sons attended Heritage Christian School, and now six of my grandchildren attend there. What a blessing they are receiving in all aspects of their lives. While they are learning about God's plan for their lives, our whole family is growing in our love for the Lord! Heritage's loving caring teachers offer guidance for all students regardless of their learning abilities. I highly recommend Heritage Christian School for any and all students!!
Garrien Sharp: Don't like that school
Toni Wohl (Toni W.): My granddaughter has gone to this school since K. I am so grateful that they are able to keep her intellectually challenged - almost making a custom program. She loves the school and I love it for her! I highly recommend this school for anyone seeking to have a challenging, Christ-centered curriculum that will help their child/grandchild grow into someone of which to be proud.
Grant Timms: Awesome school teachers are the best and are always looking out for you. The Best
Roni Ely: My son went there in 5th grade. Precious boy that was so kind and gifted. The bullying that went on was horrible. Years later it has still played a role in his confidence, his teacher was on adder all and many of the kids in that classroom were on some type of medication. To say the least it was a grieving situation. I would never suggest it as a Christian role model.
Ethan Zeronik: I go here and it has school spirit and the best range of stellar classes out there

Worthmore Academy: what do users think?
Summer Kisses: Went to this school when I was younger, all the teachers are rude and unprofessional. Especially to the disabled students they yell at them and treat them anyway they want. Please don’t bring your kids here, you’ll have better luck dropping your kids off at a local petting zoo then here.
Karl Buetow: Worthmore Academy is an amazing group of teachers! Caring and supportive staff that are dedicated to providing the best educational program for children with learning disabilities. The best!
B E: I will never go to this place again. The staff there is rude and petty. Also, don't park between the lines in their empty parking lot and fly a drone for 20 minutes or an employee will pull up to you and chase you off. Anyway, here's a free picture of your place since I'm a nice guy.
April Lynn Moore: Really cares about children. I highly recommend. The director really has kids best interest at ❤!
Diana garino: Worthmore is an amazing group of extraordinary teachers! Each child receives specific instruction that supports their learning needs in a loving, caring, respectful environment. Ms J......beyond the best!!!
Bart Waclawik: Worthmore Academy consists of extremely dedicated and hardworking teachers who ALWAYS have the children' best interest in mind. Ms. J, the principal, is one of these quiet heroes, who has dedicated her life to helping the kids achieve their full potential. My son has been attending the Worthmore Academy for several years and I can honestly tell you that every child is made felt like he or she is worth more!

Varsity Tutors - Indianapolis: what do users think?
Victoria Runyon: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueWe have an awesome tutor named Brian. He is absolutely amazing working with our 6th grader. Highly recommend Varsity Tutors for all your tutoring needs!
Kaci Hendricks: This is such a great company to work with. The tutor we have is so patient and really cares about our child. She works great with him and really trys to help him. I can see a difference in our son. Also anytime we call them, customer service has been awesome and so helpful. I higly recommend varsity tutors.
Tiffinie Edwards: Varsity Tutors is the bomb! My 13 year old son truly looks forward to his weekly sessions with Mr. Thaddeus Hunt who is helping him to prepare for an upcoming SSAT. Mr. Thad is kind, organized, patient, thorough and most importantly not condescending. He is exactly the type of teacher you want working with your child. My son also occasionally uses instant tutoring to help with Algebra 2 homework. He has worked with approximately 10 different tutors and every single one has been fantastic. They get right to the point, never wasting time on unnecessary chitchat, which is very appreciated. It gives me tremendous peace of mind knowing that a smart and kind tutor is always just a click away.
Sally Perkins: Our son had an extremely positive experience with his tutor. He was kind, helpful, easy to relate to, flexible, and instructive. While we didn't get exactly the results we'd hoped for with the SAT, improvements were made and we were grateful for how positive the tutoring experience was.
Corey Stein: Varsity Tutors is a fantastic organization of not only caring "office" staff, but incredible tutors. VT assistance came to us at a critical time and surpassed our expectations.
Alex Rigsbee: I am very satisfied with my experience with Varsity Tutors. The tutor I got was really helpful and patient and really knew what he was doing. In the end my math score on the GRE was raised because he explained how to solve problems that I didn't understand.
Ebony Calloway: Great job, flexible and you get to interact with interesting people
Piya Nandy: Varsity Tutors has been such a relief for me. With my schedule, it was getting difficult for me to coach my daughter, and she as well had time constraints with all her activities. Varsity Tutors got us a very high quality online tutor. Now my daughter has her tutoring in the comfort of her own room and her schedule. Her tutor is amazing. She knows the subject, friendly and very flexible. I really wish someone had recommended Varsity Tutors to us in her freshman year.
Cynthia Deno: We started out with SAT prep but as our needs changed we were able to find tutors for specific subjects that my kids needed help with. Varsity Tutors has worked hard to pair us with the correct tutor. My son plays two varsity sports in high school and his schedule is crazy to say the least. All of our tutors have been more than willing to work with us on scheduling tutoring sessions that work with our free time. My son seems to walk away from his sessions feeling positive about the time he spent with his tutor. Varsity Tutors has been a positive experience for my son.
Rachel Bruhn: I have been contracted as a tutor with Varsity Tutors since about May 2016. This has been my first experience with an online tutoring company and I am glad that I chose VT. In addition to the numerous resources they have available online, including their own tutoring platform, they also provide in-person tutoring services. They have helped me reach a lot of local clients, as well as a plethora of online opportunities. Recently, instant online tutoring sessions have been growing in demand, which means students can get connected to a tutor instantly, as needed. The staff has been very friendly and knowledgeable each time I have had to reach out to them with questions or concerns. If you're looking for high quality tutoring services, I strongly recommend Varsity Tutors. They are hands-down one of the best online tutoring companies around.
Chase McCloskey: Excellent overall experience! I have worked for Varsity Tutors for several months, and I have only the best things to say about the support staff who work there. They have all been kind, punctual, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful with any technical issues I encountered as one of their tutors so far. Highly recommended!
Larry Lemmon: The on-line tutoring platform easily connects student and tutor. It allows screen sharing and provides shared access to a common whiteboard area and documentation editor.
Jacob Roesler: I have been working with them for over 6 months, and it is awesome. I highly recommend them if you want to start tutoring.
Curran Mahowald: I have enjoyed my 3 or so months of tutoring with Varsity Tutors so far. The interview process was pretty simple and organized. The employees have always been professional and responsive to questions and issues. I always get paid accurately and on time. The Varsity Tutors platform itself isn't great for foreign language, so I use Google Docs to supplement the tutoring experience. Sometimes I get opportunities that don't match with my profile, like someone in a different state who wants in-person tutoring or someone who wants tutoring for some medical exam whereas I am a French tutor.
Thomas Stephens: It's my second month tutoring with Varsity Tutors and it has been great so far. It's a very easy, though thorough onboarding process, and quick access to clients once you have been hired. The thing I love about Varsity Tutors as an employer is how much independence you have with your students. They match you with students, and apart from occasionally following up to check how you feel progress is going everything is hands-off. I've had a great time tutoring my students using the online platform, and look forward to doing more. I only tutor part-time, but Varsity Tutors never "forces" me to take students if my schedule is busy. I highly recommend tutoring for this company.
Lawrence Vanore: I have been working with Varsity tutors for about a month now and can honestly say my experience has been wholly positive. I have also worked with other tutoring companies but no one matches the ondividualized service provided to tutors by VT. I don't think I have ever waited more than two hours for a response to a question or request, and usually the response comes a lot quicker than that. The on line tutoring platform works well and is easy to use. I had a few queastions at first about using the calendar but the tech team was very helpful and that did not cause any difficulties. I also feel the directors work very hard to match clients with the tutor's skills and preferences. All this allows me to focus entirely on my teaching. I recommend VT without reservation.
