Olivia Kepler (Liv): I have been attending weekly therapy sessions with Joel for a year and some change now, and my experience has been nothing short of exceptional. Joel welcomed me to this practice and helped me to feel comfortable talking about difficult subjects, even in our first meeting. Not only is he an amazing therapist who always has a handout ready and/or information/resources regarding a certain topic available, he gives educated “lessons” and advice, drawing various outlines on his whiteboard that puts the information into perspective and allow the patient to fully grasp specific concepts. As someone who values the science behind a concept, Joel takes the time to help me understand the psychology and reasonings behind why I do what I do. I feel heard and supported during each session with Joel.Crystal, the office manager, is so prompt, professional, caring, and just, a very great person. She always has my papers printed off for me to collect before my sessions and replies quickly to my questions on the scheduling application they use.Overall, my experience here has been phenomenal. 10/10.

It can be difficult to find a therapist you mesh well with and Joel was definitely a godsend. This office was good about booking, prompt on notification of payment receipts and appointment reminders. Maggie at reception is wonderful—she’s sweet, compassionate and does her job very well. The office is conveniently located on 135, adjacent to a quiet residential neighborhood. The lobby area is clean, aesthetically pleasing and probably has more coffee than my local Starbucks. I can’t recommend Indy Therapy and Counseling enough. If you’re on the fence about trying this out, go for it. It’s time to take care of yourself.

Maddie G: I felt very uncomfortable working with Christie Clayton in the last few sessions we had together. I sensed underlying feelings of anger coming from Clayton every time we hit a topic of conversation revolving around a traumatic even from my past. Clayton pushed me into very uncomfortable emotions as she set out to instill guilt on me with a sulky undertone when discussing this topic and added excessive pressure on me as I resisted and complained about her increasingly disdainful demeanor in her approach to those sessions. She was very stubborn to change her communication style, to take negative feedback on her practices, and to take responsibility for her role in the eventual breakdown of our clinical relationship which this predicament led to. She also insisted that my own resistance to her approach to our sessions was the only cause of this predicament, even though the mildly aggressive undertone that she used when expressing her point of view made it unreasonable for me to take anything she said as worthy of contemplation thereafter. She also said that my reactions to her damaging practices in our sessions were "narcissistic," even though her on-going disdain and denial towards my criticisms of her approach to our sessions [and it’s damaging effects on me] also reflected narcissism on her part. Clayton's on-going lack of faculty in handling this delicate matter in our sessions prompted me to file a report to the Attorney General for them to intervene. From letters I got from the agency, they took up the case and made an evaluation. I also learned that, even though they don’t have enough evidence to take legal action on this issue, they still have this case on file as they suspect that a violation of practice did take place in my distressful sessions with Clayton.In the many years I have been in outpatient therapy, I have never had a therapist make me feel as uncomfortable and distressed as I felt in the last sessions I had with Christie Clayton, nor have I ever had a therapist handle sessions with a contemptuous demeanor, a stubborn disregard for the consequences of her practices on a patient, and an overall irresponsible license. I discourage anyone seeking therapy from seeing Christie Clayton.

Peter Robbins: I went to see Dr. Deschamps for some problems with my teenager. She was very diligent in assessing the problem and equipping with life skills. She was very easy to talk to, and provided invaluable guidance and direction to both myself and my daughter during some very difficult times. She was firm as she needed to be and yet sensitive to our needs- wonderful qualities in a therapist. I highly recommend Dr. Deschamps.

Aname Bname: long story short I don't recommend this psychologist to anyone, never will.I went to Aura Deschamps to get a personality test along with an IQ test. simple stuff, school psychologist give these to students every few years. It turns out the test was going to cost over 1,000$. My insurance was going to pay for it all so it was fine.... until they didn't. We only got half way through the process, I had taken her tests, now she needed time to asses the results and get back to me, that was when my insurance decided it didn't want to shell out. Well I didn't except her to do anything for me until I payed her so I figure we would move on, I payed 25$ for each of the sessions I had with her(3 in total) so I payed her for her time.But then she started sending harassing texts claiming that because we got halfway through the process I owed her half the money, she wanted 600$ for what we had already done or in her words the "services" she had provided. Which included her sitting and filling bubbles on a multiple choice sheet as I went through the IQ test, showing me black/white pictures and asking me what I thought of the picture, asking a lot of personal questions, and sitting in a chair as I did a reaction time test on her computer on my own. That's basically a full list of the "services" she provided and she wanted 600$ for it.She eventually threatened to go to collections and I didn't feel like contesting in court so I payed her what she felt she was owed. But at the end of the day, I came to her for information, I payed 600$ plus 25$ for each session and got absolutely nothing for it. No information, no feed back, no test results, nothing!I completely regret seeking her out. As for her personality when she spoke her words were very formal but her tone and body language felt like I was being judged, while taking the test she seemed very impatient, wanting to just go through the motions and get it done. I never felt like she was interested in doing a good job for me.
