Herron High School: what do users think?
Kalone Collins: FIRST GRADUATING CLASS RIGHT HERE!! loved going there and the education they provided
Sarah Tewes: Absolutely fantastic experience! The community is like a strange family. The teachers are very caring and always wanting you to succeed. Choosing to go to Herron is one of the best choices I've ever made. I've graduated high school with an amazing education and awesome memories.
Rolli Your lord: I'm about to go there. I took my placement tests and they're so kind! Already love it!
King Andre: only good for academic dont care much for students because of no transportation and teachers putting grades in late, also the change of rules over the year .
Valerie Meyer: Love Herron!
Graham Johnson: Follow me on ig: @grahamjphotoAlso herron is cool. Sometimes it smells bad but they like me here i think
Allison Shoemaker: Love it
Michael Renteria: Excellent!
Mollie Mac: My son loved his teachers and the school...Awesome school.
Michael Wilson: When it comes to quality and integrity this school is all about SMOKE & MIRRORS!! Herron was a complete joke in academic, extracurricular, social and moral integrity. After noticing the negative impact the school had on our son (a quiet obedient honor student) we removed him in the middle of his JUNIOR year and sent him to Pike High with absolutely NO REGRETS!!! In his own words he stated, "I could get an A in any class without trying." That from a kid who took the same classes his first semester at Pike and struggled. Yet he recovered and placed fourth in his grad class in total scholarship monies offered at exceeding $500,000. Herron's scores are inflated because students are allowed to RETAKE tests they FAIL or perform poorly on.The clubs and bands were a compete joke. Our son attended the "photography club" and never owned a camera or took a picture. He was first chair (Alto Sax) in the ADVANCED JAZZ BAND and by his own admission NEVER practiced. They have a uniform policy, but most of the kids look like they sleep, eat and wrestle in their clothes. BEWARE!!! DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT believe the HYPE or the stories of those who choose to turn a blind eye to these and other pertinent issues at this joke of a school. STAY AWAY!!!
A W: The school is a wonderful liberal arts school with a great musical and visual arts programs. Herron High School is not an art school or just artsy people, it is a college preparatory school that allows students to get ahead and become well-rounded people for college and society. This school is open to all kinds of students with no judgment. Herron even offers AP Classes and dual credit courses (college course) to freshmen students which allows students in all grades to earn college credit so they don't have to take that course in college. This fine establishment is run by the esteemed Head of School, Janet McNeal. Herron not only provides promising education for students, but fine teachers who generally love to teach and build great student-teacher relationships with students to better their education and high school experience. Herron High School is a charter school.

Hoosier Academies: what do users think?
The Freaky French Family: My daughter started here in the first nine weeks of 2017 so its been almost a complete school year! We both love it! We tried Carmel Public schools and even a private Catholic school but honestly this school has ben amazing! We work ahead of schedule and I get to spend much for time with my daughter! Plus she is in dance many hours a Week so we can schedule privates in the day time! No homework so when we are finished by 1pm we have so much free time! Mr Johnson was her teacher 2 days a Week and I cant say enough things about him! There is something about male El Ed teachers! We need more of them because everyone I have ever met is amazing wit kids! As long as you as parent take care of your responsibilities this is the best option for schooling!
C Montgomery: We love hoosier academy. Been with you for 7 years. Just wish you loved us enough to fight for us to stay open
Kimberly Estep: Taking home schooling to the next level.
Solomon Franklin: This was the worst school I have ever been to. Granted its where I met my best friend 6 years ago. But being in this school I missed out on chances to be social with my peers. When I transferred into North Central my second semester of my freshman year I was unable to socialize with my peers there. It was a grueling heart aching 2 years before I became able to be social again. This school made me an outcast in actual society. I am now a senior graduating class of 2016 and ive made more friends in 3 years of public school than i did in 4 and a half years at Hoosier Academies.
Anon Anonymous: I am an 8th grade student going into 9th grade very soon, I have gone to hoosier academy for all 8 years so I cannot (without bias) say that it is better than public schools. Although, I can say that all of the teachers are very professional and work really hard to give the best education for their students. There are many good things about Hoosier academy and very few bad things. I am a hybrid student and I love the mix of home schooling and school days. Very awesome school.
Richard Steiner: Hoosier Academies is not for everyone, but for my 10th grade daughter it is working fairly well. If your child wants to get away from the social problems of traditional brick and mortar schools, this is a good alternative. Their systems are not perfect, but if your child is a self starter and is successful learning on their own with limited interaction, this is a good program to use. You will need patients in dealing with the staff as you get adjusted to the new workflows of online learning. As a parent, be prepared for more involvement with day to day activities until your child gets into a rhythm. You will know if the system is working for them by asking them after a month, which school they would choose. My daughter would never even consider going to a brick and mortar school ever again. She is measuring college opportunities based on their ability to provide on-line classes as a result of her experience.
Greg Neighbors: After being fed the biggest "sales" pitch I have ever heard in my life, to say that I was disappointed in the program would be an epic understatement. Paperwork mishaps, lack of communication, and missing information are just the tip of the iceberg. They failed to reply to emails, tech support would drop calls on the VERY rare instance that we actually got to talk to someone. After trying since one week after thanksgiving to get headphones replaced and find out a password, I finally sent them a scathing email and within 72 hours they kicked my stepson out of school. I guess they don't deal with criticism very well. The tutor would sign out of chat as soon as a question would be asked, the teachers were either quitting or absent from "class". K-12 is a bad joke and I'm upset to know that my tax dollars are going to fund ANY portion of it.
Scott Phillips: Very nice
Andrea McCormick: Love this place!

Deblina Sharma: I am extremely happy with the school. The teachers are great, really like the curriculum and my daughter just loves it. She will be going to Grade 3 this year and I am happy with the foundation the school offers. While our job demands us to relocate, we still took a decision to stay in the city because of the school and travel instead.
David Wefler: I am currently a Teaching Assistant at Park Tudor and I absolutely love my job. If any future teachers are reading this this is a place you must apply to.

Independence Academy-Indiana: what do users think?
Jill Wenger: Two of my cousins have attended Independence Academy of Indianapolis. I have watched them flourish since they started in 2008. They both have graduated, gone to college and will be moving into their own separate apartments next year. This wouldn't have been possible had it not been for this school and their staff.I attended the end of year talent show. Upon arriving at the school I noticed that everyone was so happy. The students were greeting the staff joyfully and with excitement. The talent show was amazing. There was a wide variety of acts. All of the students supported each other. There was a person who got stage fright and started crying. She left the stage. Some of the kids went back to support her. She came back on stage and every kid was thrilled, clapping and genuinely happy for her. It was beautiful.I will never forget the feeling of love and kindness that came across from the first step into the Independence Academy of Indianapolis.
James Le Vay: I could not have gone to a better high school than The Independence Academy. Not only did I get my high school diploma, but I made many friends whom I still keep in touch with to this day. The teachers were nice and worked hard to teach the students as well as help them achieve success and go down the right path as members of the larger community. All in all, I would recommend the Independence Academy, and if I had a child of my own, I would send him or her to IA.
Sue Moore: Independence Academy opened new doors into the future for our community. The open environment is beautiful and welcoming for all that crossed and will cross the threshold. We opened our eyes into the journey forward with endless possibilities. I couldn't be more proud
Tracy Dallman: My son graduated from the Independence Academy. I cannot thank the staff enough for the kindness and patience shown to him throughout his middle and high school years. Although he graduated a year before they moved to their new facility, I have seen it and it is a wonderful place!
Kaki Garard: Independence Academy has a lovely new facility! This allows for a larger sense of community - which is what IA creates for families. A Warm Welcome for All! Highly recommend you see for yourself!
Logan: I went to this school for 4 years. When I say that I am grateful for the opportunity to avoid public school, namely North Central High School, I took it. The main reason is that North Central piles on the workload. They treat you like your good grade is just another dollar on the teachers paycheck, which, actually is how they decide their pay, I was told by my geography and history of the world (GHW) teacher when I went there. As far as I know that hasn’t changed. Besides that fact, Independence Academy was better because you aren’t swamped with as much work as a standard public school. They teach ACTUAL LIFE SKILLS! How to make a resume, how to apartment and job hunt, how to budget. I made a suggestion to have a currency to help facilitate earned privileges, and we called them IA dollars. We had those old check registers, to track our balance. They have fun Fridays and depending on what kind of fun Friday it is depends on what you would do at the end of the day. There was video game, movie, fitness(least fave), and maybe a few others. I was beyond grateful for the opportunity to go here. However… it is expensive. I understand that a parent would take a bullet for their child, and that is very admirable, but in this case it isn’t you, it’s your wallet. The number I am about to tell you is a year. Two semesters.$14,000.A year. There were some scholarships available for me to chip down that price a bit, but… if you’d do anything for your child and don’t mind handing over 14k a year, then… go for it. It’s absolutely worth it if other schools cannot accommodate your child.I graduated in January 2019. Well technically I was done with all my classes, and I went to the ceremony in may.
Cokeland Saxton Gaming: I went to this school from 2011 - 2016. The first two years were fine. The last two year were the worst ones of my life. This school was like a prison for me. It gave me anxiety and trust issues.
Nicholas D: I am a student here! And I like this school! They help us to know ourselves! They also help us understand the teacher! And it is easier! Than my old school! Talawanda school district in oxford Ohio was bad!
Anna Dougherty: When we cam here we were lost and in need of so much help and guidance. The staff and school board truly care about the students and families thst attend this wonderful school. We are thankful everyday to have a safe, caring, accountable, loving, forward thinking place for my son to call a home away from home. I would reccomend them 1000 times over and would gladly make the same huge choice to move to a new city, so my son had a REAL SCHOOL to attend.
Mary Charnley: Staff is warm and inviting. The small student body allows for more one on one interactions. The sensory rooms are wonderful. The older building is not ideal but the "contents" make up for it. The neighborhood is a great place for location and school walks.

Forest Glen Elementary School: what do users think?
ray peck: My wife and I debated sending our kids to a private school, but instead, we opted for Forest Glen. That was five years ago, and we could not be more pleased. Our kids enjoy the school, and it's been a great experience all around, and the teachers truly care about the kids. Also of great importance is that the leadership is truly top notch.Recently, one of our kids started having some issues. Despite being a smart kid, my boy was getting some bad grades, including a couple of "F's". Well, I never would have imagined the support system that they have in place, and at a public school! Everyone from the Principal on down truly seems committed to getting my boy back on track. If I didn't know better, I'd swear the school had only one kid... mine. The extra attention, the true concern for my little boy, and for that matter, all my kids, is impressive, especially for a public school ! We made an excellent decision to come here, and would highly recommend it.
Jill Jones: We have been involved with Forest Glen now for 9 years with 3 of our children having gone there or currently there. We absolutely love the school, administration and staff! This is such a hidden gem in Indianapolis, The children are provided with such a unique opportunity to be immersed in a second language. They not only learn the language but all also immersed in different Hispanic cultures. We cannot say enough about this elementary. Thanks Forest Glen for working so hard for your students!
Gillian Ising: I am the parent of two Forest Glen students, and could not be happier about their experience at this school. The administration, teachers and staff are dedicated, kind, smart, wonderful people who's main priority is the student's education. My children are given the gift of Spanish language and culture every day, and through this school and their experiences within it, their lives are being changed for the better. By learning Spanish in this intensive environment, their world is expanded and opened exponentially. I am grateful for this school every day and am thrilled that my children are in such an incredible program.
Forest Glen: School leadership uses funds that is suppose to go to the children and be used for improving the school to take lavish trips all around the world, completly funded by Forest Glen and the children. Trips that are planned by this leadership the first year include; Kentucky, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Ecuador, Galapagos Island.School leadership also uses school funds to created positions and to hire family members and friends at higher salaries then seasoned dedicated teachers currently earn.Forest Glen needs many improvements, school, playground and overall structural and cosmetic condition is very poor. We are rated below other schools in our district in overall condition. As a parents we can also see that we desperately need assistant teachers for over-populated classrooms, and additional help for our special needs children. Our opinion as a concerned group of parents is to stop the spending on trips and family and friends. If the leadership wants to take lavish trips around the world, we only ask that they pay for it themselves, and to stop the hiring and overpaying of family and freinds. Please use the funds for our children, staff and school as it was meant to be. Parents of Forest Glen
