Roberts BBQ: Staff is extremely rude. I went in to search for a few vacation things for my husband, I was never greeted, never asked if I needed help. I then asked one gentleman if he could point me in the direction of Tommy Bahama clothing and he just pointed and continued talking to his co-worker. I walked out at this point and won’t be back. Try harder guys!! A simple “Hello” when someone walks in goes a long way!!

Freedom Bardsley: (I used to work at this Plato’s closet so things are taking me back into shock) Took some really nice items to this Plato and I was beyond surprised on the items they didn’t take off my hands. I was more surprised on the fact that I had a brand new Akira brand dress that was covered in sparkles and pearls. I asked for an explanation on why, and they claimed it was “too casual” and “some wear & tear”. This dress was from Akira which none of their clothing line is casual. If anything it looked more prom dress like. And there’s no wear and tear. They told me to take it to style encore which I did, and they ended up explaining to me it was more the pearls is why they denied it…which is understandable, just wish they would’ve given me a legit explanation instead of making up nonsense. Style encore encouraged me to take it to Washington st Plato since they seem to have a better reputation apparently.

Kcdmgirl: I have decided to delete my old review in favor of redoing it in order to recognize some of the work that has been done here.Firstly, a big issue I mentioned in my old review was the abundance of LuLaRoe within the store taking up inventory. Thankfully that is no longer the case, and after shopping here regularly I can safely say I haven't seen any MLM products on the racks or shelves. I hope they will continue to not accept the product, as it allows for a greater variety of clothes within the store.Last time I went into the store, the organization had improved significantly, and it did not feel cramped or caustraphobic as it had sometimes before. They have expanded specialized sections significantly - sportswear and mens being key examples, which contributes to the range of clothes offered. Ultimately it means that if I can't find anything in the womens section, normally I wander over to the sports section before I leave to see if there is anything I want there. I hope Plato's continues with this store layout and organization, as its very welcoming and nice to see the store looking so clean.I haven't seen too many employees at the store that were there the last time I did my review. I'm not sure if they hired new people or gave the older ones pay raises to boost morale but it most certainly makes the place more inviting. The employees also dress for specific trends too, I'm not sure if some sort of dress code was implimented since last time but it is nice to see the employees looking good and matching what's on display at the store. The new system they have for selling makes things a lot easier too.Unfortunately fast fashion like SHEIN does seem to permeate the store, however I realize that is more of a consequence of fast fashion itself than anything the store is doing. I just hope it doesn't become another LuLaRoe situation where it overuns the store. I still am able to find good quality items here though from reputable brands, though as always, I don't find something every time as is the way of thrift and consignment stores in general.Overall though the store has vastly improved since my last review, hence why I deleted it and made this one. There are some things that have room for improvement still, but overall I hope this place continues to improve and I now shop here semi-regularly.

Megan Crawford: Today, I brought all new clothing that were in style and currently being sold in stores. Popular name brand stores. Also for the upcoming season(Fall). 3 pairs of brand new high hills in a popular size 7. Some clothes still had their original tags on them. Their reason for not buying anything is because they were "worn". BTW never worn. Everything was cuter than what they already carry for sure. Another location offered over $50 but that was way lower than what I was looking for, for brand new, in-style clothing, shoes, accessories, and make-up. This location, the staff is all white and I'm sure they discriminated against me for being African American. I suggest this store be investigated and required to hire African American employees that will ensure that this doesn't continue to happen. If anyone else has a similar experience, please write a review to highlight this issue. They were unwelcoming/rude from the moment I walked in the store and I knew as soon as I dropped my bags off that they were going to pass on everything.

Ashlie Murray: They have very cute clothes and I love shopping there. But they prices have gone up and for used clothing they charge way to much. I attempted to sell some clothes too. They usually buy quite a few of my things however this time they only wanted to buy 3 items I had(which were all brand new with tags still,worth a little over $100) and they wanted to give me $9.00 for all 3 things. Needless to say i didn't sell them.

Shawn Hicks: I am a woman who used to be employed there unfortunately only because I got an interview with no vehicle. It was the only option. The so called manager Michelle is very passive aggressive and two faced (what woman isn't really?) also childish to where it's embarrassing!!! She caters to the staff obnoxiously, acts like a chicken with it's head cut off, says very inappropriate things, shares too much, and doesn't stick to her word. Need I go on? Yet she wants to buy the place?! I don't see how? This place had SUCH an odd energy and I was highly uncomfortable. All I wanted to do was scream seriously. The floors don't get vaccumed and the staff don't try to go above and beyond like they want to believe. Pretty rude really. Lastly, the shirts will have stains and be charged over $10. That is not right at all! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE FOLKS!!!

As they were BOTH still standing at the front counter “looking busy” we were checking out all the purses. Mid you we both had a purse in our hands ready to buy (1 coach, and 1 Kate spade) we continued to walk throughout the store, up and down all the aisles. Both women went down an aisle to hang up clothes and STILL no contact. Therefore we walked up to the counter Neither women were up there and sat the purses on the counter. The young women (nice) asked if we were ready to check out and I politely said we were but we were ignored and not greeted by the other 2. And we left the building, as we were leaving the mid twenties women had a smart A comment. Needless to say I won’t be returning or giving money to a store like that. Very disappointing as I had a coach purse that I loved.

1st Rocky: This store is great! I had no idea it was there after an unsuccessful shopping trip for a special occasion, my daughter then told me about this place. Its now definitely going to be my go to place for any upcoming shopping trips 🛍 ☺️ I got just what I was looking for, the staff were great and the prices were shockingly low! I've been in here quite a few times - two of those times she has been there and I have sold quite a bit and she is super friendly and helpful....the other times she hasn't been there I've gotten attitude from employees/employees being rude or they just don't even actually look through my stuff (and it's painfully obvious) after having it for a long period of time. I actually voiced some of these concerns to Michelle yesterday and she actually listened to what I had to say and made me feel like my concerns mattered! The new employee working with her seemed promising as well!****SIDE NOTE FOR THOSE WHO DID NOT KNOW THIS INFO (I WAS INFORMED OF IT YESTERDAY): This company amd other affiliated ones are supposed to be like "stair steps". Meaning it starts off with kids stuff at Once Upon a Child, then clothes for teens to around the age of 24 is Plato's. Clothing geared for 25+ is Style Encore. Style Encore also has a ton of inventory in different storage which is making the people in charge tell them be more selective about what they'll buy from us. It's not the employees just being picky just because (at least not all the time).

I, along with tons of other people, have the same issue though with this location that I have with the Greenwood & Westside locations as well - they expect all clothes to come into them clean/folded/neat but EVERY SINGLE TIME you get your containers back they are wadded up/wrinkled/messy.
