Sycamore Reserve Senior Living: what do users think?
Sean Yule: Sycamore Reserve is a wonderful community. The leadership team is incredibly involved and caring and the staff strives to make it feel like home. It is a vibrant community with fantastic amenities!
Charlene Lakin: I have lived here only since October 2022. Long enough to know what Alan tells you on the video is true.Very friendly residents, food is good, a real variety of apartments and friendly helpful staff.Having free transportation to appointments is a blessing. If you have a vehicle there is plenty of parking space.Laundry facilities are also included in your rent or you can have your own.Come visit us and you just might be my neighbor.
Greg Coley: Sycamore Reserve is excellent all of the way around. It is owned and operated by a family and they treat their residents and guests like family. I doubt you can find somewhere with a more personal feel. There is a community feel to relationships here. Residents sit in the common areas to play games, talk, and even have a sing-along. It is remarkable compared to other places that I am familiar with. Rooms are comfortable. All areas are clean. The dining room food is delicious and has good variety. I highly recommend it for your senior family member.
Cathy Sitterding: 04/06/21 - This facility is home and yet you feel as if you are on vacation 52 weeks a year. The Owner is directly involved and is very concerned with our intellectual, emotional/spiritual and physical health. This is reflected through activities that stimulate our minds; a sacred space for meditating and personal quiet time; yoga and exercise programs; and, last but not least, exceptional and nutritious food selections. The entire staff is friendly and caring and will always go over and above to create a comfortable family atmosphere. I have never been happier. (Oh, the pool isn’t too shabby either.) I don’t know what else to say except: If you are active, like to have fun and are young at heart, look no further for retirement living. Sycamore should be your next home!
Randy Rhea: My mom has lived at Sycamore for over a year. She and my family have been very pleased with the accommodations and the staff has been wonderful. My mother is so proud living at Sycamore. She invites us over for meals whenever possible. I feel like the Sycamore staff has become family to her.
Nope Goss: Don't have an experience to share but a question to ask. Does this beautiful place accept people of color?
Kyle Williams: Visited my grandpa and was pleasantly surprised bout the high level of care and love the owners and staff have show with rides and with 3 meals that you can go into the little restaurant that's provide for tents and family it was deliciousness. And the waiter was amazing.. shout out to grandpa Mr Tim or I call him O.C.G. old cane guy love ya
Jim Morgan: Sycamore Reserve is a beautiful community with great amenities and conveniently located. It is a wonderful option for those looking for this pampered lifestyle as well as a very nice option for those who want to take advantage of this hot housing market to sell their long-time home. It can give them time on a month to month short-term lease while they look for a downsized home or waiting for one to be built as well. We at Life's Copilot, a Senior resource service, are proud to have Sycamore Reserve as one of our members.
Josie: I had lunch at Sycamore this past Monday and was so impressed with the food I was served,. The beautiful lobby and dining area was filled with residents laughing and sharing friendship and fellowship. I sat down with strangers and was welcomed . What an engaging group of seniors enjoying living life to its fullest.
Debbie Footman Williams: The menu is very savvy, guest feedback is wonderful.
Helen Coley: I found Sycamore Reserve on the Internet. Moved in sight unseen and it’s been a great find. Love everything about it. Good food, great staff, lots of activities. Couldn’t ask for more!
paula rison: Sycamore Reserve is a beautiful facility! The staff are so friendly and very welcoming.
Christina Bruno: Absolutely beautiful senior living center! The people are so nice and welcoming, and the facility is gorgeous! The director of activities was extremely helpful and energetic - a great place to live!
Heather jones: Shawn Gann and the team here are amazing ! Such a warm and welcoming environment.
Denny Smith: Sycamore Reserve is an incredible facility for quality senior living. They make it possible to be engaged, healthy, happy, and energized and the staff seems to be 100% focused on providing a quality standard of living for those lucky enough to live there. Food is available, on order, from 7 in the morning to 7 at night, and that food is just wonderful. Floor plans from a small studio to a large 2-bedroom and living room. Truly there is something for everybody at Sycamore Reserve Senior Living! I can't remember being greeted and welcomed so graciously as when I visited them.
Thomas Gismondi: Lovely staff, welcoming environment and lots of fun to have at sycamore reserve! Made us feel at home even as a guest. Great facility and greater people!
Brooke Boudreaux: I love this facility! The staff are truly like family they make it such a welcoming environment. Great food and always fun activities. The residence are thriving here and when you walk in the atmosphere has such a positive vibe!
Gary Chandler: Sycamore ReserveMy name is Gary Chandler. I became a resident of Sycamore Reserve since February 1, 2021. I wanted to express my thoughts and feelings I have experienced since I became a resident at this beautiful community. To begin, I should share my life experience in the three months prior to my making Sycamore Reserve my home. My dear wife, Cindy and I had been married 40 years. We both had been experiencing serious health problems and had been in the hospital together for about two weeks. My wife's health took a turn for the worse and she died on November 3, 2020. My health took a turn for the better even though I was diagnosed with cancer and early stages of dementia. I was released from the hospital and returned home. Due to depression from my wife's death and a poor diet, I thought seriously about selling my home. My dear friend, Richard Mack, who has always had my best interest at heart, encouraged me, with nothing to gain for selling my home and moving to Sycamore Reserve. On February 1, 2021, I moved into Sycamore Reserve. I found, in a very short time that this was far more than a place to live but, a home. The staff has been truly genuine in the kindness and care they have shown to me as well as the other residents interest in my happiness. I have never found change to come easy in my life, but, this move that I made to Sycamore Reserve has been a positive one. I have had my spirit lifted and I once again found joy and happiness returning to my life.Let me give you some of the positives of this change. Sycamore Reserve is a brand new community which opened in January of 2020. Due to Covid -19 the community remained lockdown for much of 2020.Upon my arrival in February 2021, I came to a new apartment of 875 sq. ft. with a very large bedroom, living room, kitchen, den, a beautiful bath with a marble floor and a huge walk-in closet. There are only 25 residents at this time, many having experienced independent living in other communities . Everyone here says, Sycamore Reserve Senior Living is the very best! The staff makes sure that ever residents are expertly taken care and they experience their every need and desire. We have on staffed chefs who provide a wonderful menu selection. For example the lobster bisque soup is as good as any 5 star restaurant, I have ever experienced. The entire selection never has disappointed me.I can plan my day with a choice of many games, exercise, field trips, even planned excursions to international destinations or we may prefer the peace and quiet of being in your suite with a good book or by the heated salt water pool. If, you desire or in need of Independent Living, I recommend you visit Sycamore Reserve. I cannot speak highly enough of the amenities offered. When you visit, I would be happy to talk to you and give you the opportunity to see my apartment.Gary Chandler
Chad Collyer: Michelle was kind enough to give me a tour today of Sycamore Reserve. All of the rooms she showed me were amazing. It is a beautiful community for the residents to enjoy. I perform a magic and mind reading for senior communities nationwide, and I can already tell this is going to be one of my very favorites.
Lisa Vander Meer: I provide rehab services at Sycamore Reserve and can attest to commitment to the residents here. When you pull up to this little gem in Castleton, its in a lovely park-like setting and once you walk through the front doors-WOW! Professionally decorated and while the finishes are high end, it also feels very warm and inviting. The staff are very active with the residents and there are constantly stimulating and age-appropriate activities at all hours of the day. You would want your parents to be in this place! The residents that I have interacted with speak very highly of the staff, food, other residents and generally have great pride in where they live.
Craig Howard: My Client moved into Sycamore Reserve a couple weeks ago.. Im so happy we found this hidden gem.The staff is very attentive and display genuine compassion for each member of this newly found family community setting, Its just a priceless experience every time I visit... I had the honor to dine in there beautiful dinning room. I’m a Professional Chef so I was extremely excited to taste and critique the cuisine served this particular evening . I must say I was amazed at the service given to the residents and how the severs called the residents by name and explained the specials and was able to make recommendationsThe menu has a great variety to choose from although the icing on the cake was every bite of my meal was delicious .. I ate very slowly because it was just that Yummerish a wordI use as a Chef meaningI score my meal 10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I look forward to being invited for Lunch or Dinner again. I highly recommend Sycamore Reserve Senior Living you will love it as much as I do... My Client has settled in with anticipation everyday to mingle and enjoy activities and socials on the premises.. I’m so thankful for this amazing concept.. Treat yourself and stop in!!!!!

JCC Indianapolis: what do users think?
Russ Chandler: My family and I have been members of the JCC for 5 years now. We primarily started going for their childcare/daycare and then Pre-School and Pre-K for our son. He’s gone on some level since he was 5-6 months old and has thrived very well in their environment. Additionally, we gradually started going to the facility more often the longer we were members where now we go to the outside pool and park multiple times a week in the summer and although less in the winter, utilize the facility year around. The childcare is as good as it gets on pretty much every level you can grade or measure childcare and/or educational establishment for ages 0-5. Throughout the entire COVID timeline they were only significantly disrupted for 2 of what were the worst weeks earlier on in this area. Otherwise the most things were operating differently was in having a mask policy and slightly different hours due to an increase in nightly janitorial work. If it was possible to find a happy median of the wide spectrum of perspectives on how cautious or strict to be or not to be during Covid, they found it. Very friendly staff and teachers/leaders of each childcare room. Many who have worked there and been members the majority of their lives. By every manner that I can tell you’re experience would be equally positive whether you’re Jewish or not, so you can definitely feel comfortable no matter your religion/race or any other group you either are or are not a part of in life. I would obviously highly recommend anyone looking for childcare, rec/community center, or summer camp/class of some kind that you strongly consider the JCC.
Diane Eberle: I have only just started going but everything has been great so far. They have a wide variety of machines and weights and lots of classes to choose from. Nice locker rooms and shower areas and indoor and outdoor pools.
Edward Short: Great service with best facilities
Renee Miller: No pain no gain I guess. I enjoy this gym very much
Jeffrey Pedersen: Best gym around. Hours of operation suck though... this review is edited because I went to work out today and a huge portion or the weight area was completely overrun by underaged (without adult supervision) kids that were literally running around the weight area and chasing eachother, not racking their weights, occupying machines and benches for 15 to 20 minutes at a time and barely using them but leaving their belongings on them to claim said benches/machines. Absolutely no employees confronted them or enforced the facility rules (yes, I did confirm that the majority were under 16). I was most definitely NOT the only one bothered and upset by the whole situation and was not happy to hear from another adult member that this happens quite often, especially on the weekends!
Caitlin McElwain: I have been so disappointed in the jcc this year. I understand covid and I understand unemployment is high. What I don't get is charging so much and closing the outdoor water park early, changing hours constantly without notice, putting the hours on Facebook after it has been in effect. You can't even give us an hour notice? This summer has been awful. One disappointment after another and a complete waste of money with no offer of reimbursement. No way to do business. Very upset.
Naomi Cohen: First of all, the front desk staff is extremely rude and they are always in a bad mood. The lifeguards are just rude teenagers that yell at everyone for no reason. The café takes an hour for the food to come to you. I come here almost everyday and go through the same things .
Nick Perkins: Best workout facility in the area I’ve been to! Staff is helpful and inviting, equipment and weights are plentiful and good quality. Not too crowded and just overall a beautiful, well maintained facility that really cares about its community
John Smith: My favorite gym
Annette Byers: Great place for families
Joshua Abrams: Easily the greatest multi-purpose facility in Indianapolis! They have so much to offer (childcare, rec sports, assisting the elderly, personal trainers to just name a few)! Most importantly, it's a COMMUNITY that welcomes EVERYONE!
Kimberly Kurtz: My granddaughter loves it she always wants to swim there
Expert Reviewer: Very nice facility. Had workout with Eric Gordon there along with their training director and did a great job. I would HIGHLY recommend this place.
Maegilthalion “Estelthoniel” Estel: Staff are very friendly and helpful, facility is clean.I recommend the Taekwondo if you're looking for a good, safe, positive environment that just seems to be right for all ages and physical abilities. This facility just has good energy throughout, as well as excellent diversity. What can I say beyond that?Visit, see for youryourself.
Asa Swift: It's one of the best facilities in the city.
Linda Erickson: What a great place! Gym, fitness classes, education, daycare, community, and the list goes on... everything is top notch and The staff are super friendly and helpful. If you happen to see any for sale, make sure to buy some challah at the JCC. We aren’t Jewish, but it’s so delicious!
Erin O: Seriously such great staff. Comfortable environment. Lots of equipment, lots of things to do, lots of classes. All around great community center!Thank you JCC Indy!
Brian Wade: Great work out facility and walking / running track. Staff is very helpful.
Linda Fonner: Great place. Glad I'm a member.
JR R: I have been a member for over 20 years. I love the place and see that over the years, the membership and attendance has doubled. I love the more open atmosphere for Staff Person who have cubicles and doors that are opened and inviting. A few years back it use to be the long hallways with closed doors. Thanks for your wonderful service to our Community.
Armando P: Nice facility for school events and the like.

NeighborCare of Chapel Hill: what do users think?
Deni Harris: If I could give zero starts I would. This place is horrible, apartments full of bedbugs roaches and rude people. Staff is treated poorly by supervisors. Residents treated like a number. DO NOT LIVE HERE unless u want bedbugs and roaches.
Nedra Thompson: lots of apartment options that are reasonably priced. common areas are clean and staff is prompt and friendly.
Sarah Malia: NeighborCare is a great option for folks 50 & over. It's clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, and there are many "extras" included such as fun events, transportation, and fitness classes. It is also the most affordable option in the area.
Lisa Horn: Great things happening at Neighborcare!New staff has made great improvements. This is a great place for seniors in Indianapolis at an affordable price. Lots of activities and there’s transportation.
Gina Hayes: NeighborCare is a great place to work, it’s a pleasure to move folks into clean safe affordable housing. We care about your well being not just provide housing. We have a food pantry and assist neighbors in getting CICOA boxes of food, when there is too much month and not enough food. Isolation can be a problem as you age, so we provide all types of actives for our folks to meet their neighbors and find a friend. Like our book club, chair yoga and visits to the local casinos. In the summer we have a concert series and bring out noted a musicians like Gregg Bacon. I enjoy getting to dance with our residents which we call "Neighbors" on the job, what a fun place to work.
Lisa Hansbrough: My apartment was clean and beautiful, staff was friendly, they have convenient washing machines located on the 2nd floor. I love it here. Trash pickup conveniently at your front door. It's soooo lovely here.
VICKI “vic stewart” STEWART: THIS PLACE IS INFESTED WITH BED BUGS!!!!! HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND UNCARING STAFF....IS THIS THE WAY THAT SENIOR CITIZENS SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE????
Joyce Watson: I moved here last spring. I really enjoy the fact that is is 55 or older community. I also, enjoy that there are several things all over the campus that I can do. I go and play games with the people in building 1 even though I live in 6. It doesn't matter which building you live in if you might like the activity you can go an see if you can join.
Debby Sego: Great senior community to live and work in! Lots of activities, events and a cafè!
Eric Arnold: I'll be honest, the only reason that I'm giving three stars is because of the new management team. The Property Manager (Misty) was given a herculean task when she was assigned to this property and told to "Fix" it. She is fighting fires on every front every day and is doing better than those managers that came before her. If Neighbor Care can give her a maintenance staff that is somewhat competent and continue to support her in her daily battles she'll turn this place around in no time. This property has a well deserved reputation as the final stop on a managers career path, but hopefully that will change. We the residents need to remember that this property didn't implode overnight and it can't and won't be repaired overnight. This is a process that will take time and during that process there will be bumps in the road and new problems will surface, that's unavoidable. You can't eat an elephant in one bite, and right now management has a very large elephant to eat. It's a one bite at a time process and I think that Misty is hungry and craving elephant.
Chris Daniels (Indianapolis Kings): Neighborcare of Chapel Hill is a fairly large Senior Community campus near Ben Davis HS on the Westside of Indy. Katherine White, RSC of building 2, operates & manages her one hundred plus residents with great care & concern. Katherine understands transitioning to a new community can be a delicate situation for new residents & their families alike. She prides herself in having the versatility to effectively communicate & work with families of all backgrounds (no circumstance is unique to her) There is certainly a communal experience in her building and she is dedicated to providing a welcoming atmosphere for all of her residents !
Misty M: It is such a pleasure to care for the men and women who choose to call NeighborCare their home. We are excited about 2023! Check out our beautiful and affordable apartments! Call for a tour today!
Melisa: I have lived in this community for a year now. It is an enjoyable place. They have things in every building at different times you can do, cards, bingo, and other games. You don't have far to walk to get a hot meal there is a café on sight. There are also a clinic, physical therapist, hair salon, and a couple of exercise rooms. The people are friendly and try to help when needed.
Samantha Hyten: NeighborCare is a great community for seniors who are looking for socialization, meals, bus transportation, exercise classes and more. The apartments are spacious, clean, and very affordable.
terrasina bowman: Wonderful place to work and live. I live in building 6 since April of this year. No problems with my neighbors. So if you’re 55 years or older please come out take a look around and enjoy different activities
Paula Moore: The coordinator are rude and don’t answer phone barely get a call back. People snitching on you and telling on ea other to get ppl kick out of their apartment. Horrible place to live.
Mike R.: I think this place is just fine. Being the size of a small town, there will always be issues like staffing, but they do their very best. Been here 1.5 years. Sure the shuttles "were" down for a bit due to thieves stealing the converters, but running on sched. now. I have a service dog who is always welcomed. My building Mgr. Melissa is tops and maintenance team is always on the ball. I recently asked for a new filter for my air conditioner and the next day I received a brand new unit with filters you can clean yourself in the sink. Never had to wait for a response on any issue. To top it off, my neighbors are wonderful! Activities galore as well.
Leslie: This place is worse than a dump and even worse than hell! I had put in a request for some work to be done on my apartment. But never heard anything about it from anyone until I made a video and posted it on line. None of these apartments have a fire extinguisher in them at all. The web site for this place says that it has a Neighbor bus and that is an out right lie! I used to clean the filters for the air/heat unit in my apartment but not anymore! So if it quits because the filters aren't cleaned then tfb-too freakin bad! I can't wait to leave this cess pool asap! I could only give this place one⭐ star unfortunatelyy. But if it were possible then I would definitely give it a negative infinity ⭐ stars.
Marietta Herod: Editing my review … Misty took care of the issue and was very helpful in resolving it. She’s getting things done here that weren’t getting done before she took over. Thanks Misty.
Trudy Burnett: This place is a dump!! I've spoken with the Directer, Business Office and everyone in else in between. The hallway carpets are disgusting. The Bay area where the residents play cards, watch movies, eat, or inhabitable. They advertise Bus Service, well that's non-existent because this service has been down for 6 months!!Something needs to change for $900 a month. I need to speak to corporate asap!!!
John Avis: Was ok when It was Crestwood but its NeighborCare now and everything has gotten bad. Many health, safety and security violations. It’s not safe or healthy to live here. Rent was jacked up and services cut. Constant staff turn over. Maintenance is a joke and on a rare occasion they do turn up, they are clueless. Management won’t replace anything so at best you get a temporary band aid. Cleaning staff was replaced to save money, the new group seldom shows up and if they do, they do a poor job. it’s a dump now. Will be moving.
