Westminster Neighborhood Services provides education support, access to basic needs, and community connections to empower neighbors and strengthen youth and families on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis.

Westminster's holistic approach to serve the entire family is important to the thousands of neighbors that come through the doors annually. The relationship built with the families is so important; at times we might be the only ones cheering on these families and helping them navigate hard situations they face daily. 42% of the neighborhood living below the poverty level and 21% live with an annual income less than $10,000. That comes with barriers that they need help over coming, and Westminster’s services are essential to help families break down those barriers and break free from the obstacles holding them back in life.

Our focus is to help level the playing field for all children and give them a solid foundation for the future. We offer child care, preschool, before & after school care, school breaks & summer day camp, youth basketball and more!


Our focus is to help individuals and families to become financially stable. We offer employment services, financial education, basic needs support, tax preparation and connection to high school equivalency (HSE) programs, tutoring and English classes!


Community Engagement focuses on aligning the needs of the community with external and internal resources. Community Engagement programs work to improve the quality of life of residents of the Near West by focusing on health, safety, housing, economic development, civic engagement and education. This work is bolstered by the Near West Quality of Life and Great Places plans.


Hawthorne is a neighborhood nonprofit located in a community just west of the Indianapolis Zoo. We provide early childhood and school age programs for children and youth, social activities for seniors and opportunities for adults to build financial stability.


We have both paid professionals and volunteers and we provide programs aimed at the changing needs of the community.
