Kristen LaEace: Big shout out to Journey and Michelle at the Ulta in Fashion Mall Commons! I went in to beg a couple sample/testers. I had left my makeup at home on the NW side of Indy this morning, worked at 49th and Keystone, and had an evening event on N Meridian where there would be a photographer. I really just wanted a little foundation and cream blush. These ladies empathized with my dilemma and hooked me up with testers of my regular Clinique products and a tiny blender sponge. A few minutes later, I walked out feeling like I was camera ready. Thanks, ladies!

The Dining Grandpa: I stopped by here today, to get a gift card for my better half. Apparently, Ulta beauty is the new rage, for make up. I can’t say that I can either agree nor disagree as I know absolutely nothing about make up. But she seems to like it, this is her favorite store. The store seemed rather large, with plenty of helpful staff members. I was helped right away, and gratefully so. The store was very neat and organized. There were many customers in the store when I arrived, with a steady stream coming and going. That’s about all I can say. If you need to give your wife or lady a nice gift. Stop by here for a gift card like I did, I think she’ll like it.

Robin Mullins: Staff (& manager) was not helpful at all. I needed shampoo & conditioner & the manager said that all brands have what I specifically wanted just go by what “smells good”. 🤯 The workers were more concerned about stocking than customer service. Finally one of the hairdressers helped me but even she wasn't very nice. When I went to registers (no one was waiting in line) the two girls behind counter were talking and acted like it was an inconvenience for them to ring up my purchase. Going forward I’ll go to a different Ulta & hope for better service. Disappointed, do better.

K N: This location was pretty busy from what I could see. They had everything I needed in stock and much more. The samples and displays they had out looked new and weren’t missing any pieces or pans. We were checked on by a couple workers making sure we found everything we needed. The line was pretty long but went by fast. I had an issue with one of my gift cards I had but the lady that helped me at the register was extremely kind and tried everything to help me as well as being very respectful. I will definitely be back!

C Cahill: This evening I had an horrific experience at this store. After working in my yard and running a quick errand to pick up an online order from an adjacent store to Ulta I decided to visit the Ulta store. As soon as I enter the store the cashier sternly asks, can I help you with something? Her tone and the way she looked at me said more. I am a woman of color with fashionable dreadlocks. I am hesitant to talk to her because I am very aware of “racial profiling “. The cashier assumed whatever she assumed maybe because of my style of dress, my husband’s work jacket, nursing scrubs and dusty yard work shoes. I reply to her question, and she signals for another employee (brown girl). The cashier immediately tells me what I came for the store does not stock. I immediately left the store (never left the front lobby of store) bc the situation was definitely uncalled for. I am an Ulta platinum member. And when I shop there it’s generally a splurge spree but now I am not uncertain about shopping Ulta.

Sarah Moreland: Ordered curbside pickup, showed up when I received an email saying it was ready and went through the steps to say I was here. After waiting about 30 mins, I checked in again and called the store. Someone came out with my order, asked for ID and said “here” and seemed very annoyed and immediately walked away. I try to be understanding of people but geez at least a “sorry for the wait”. Made me really sad

Janice Orrell: Yesterday I placed an online order to be picked up at the store. The online system checks for item availability and suggests shipment or other store. My items were said to be there. This morning I received notice that my order had been canceled and they would keep my money for 5 days. Knowing that i still drove to the store to purchase like items. I had used 2 coupons. They were not only going to hold my money, but my coupons as well. They insructed me to phone customer service where i was greated by Demarcus. Very friendly but his hands were tied and there was nothing he could do. He sent me to a supervisor where i first held for over 17 minutes. I phoned at 158 PM and my call lasted 53 minutes. Most of that time was on hold. Bianca the supervisor informed me after several long holds with Demarcus returning to inform me she was extremely busy, that the only thing she could to was refer me for a call back and it would not be for more than 2 or 3 days. It is an absolute poverty on behalf of your customer service staff, that providing customer service is not a priority.

As I walked up to the door the woman behind the register walked up and locked the door in my face. Made complete eye contact and everything. Went to the car to call and see what was going on. Turf: We ordered online like requested but not all products delivered. We have emailed, attempted to call customer service, called direct stores but nobody answering or responding. I understand a difficult time but products should either be delivered or refunded.

H. Wattage: I needed to lift my hair color by one or two levels and Dawn was absolutely amazing on her suggestions. I could tell she wasn't just trying to sell me a product because it was a higher price but because she knew what she was talking about. And she was very honest with me and toners, she said she couldn't suggest one because she didn't even know what my hair color would turn out to be after I stripped the color out. Which I completely appreciate the honesty. Will be returning 3 thank you!!

Jennifer Tilford: This Ulta was great! There was an esthetician working who was so helpful with questions about skincare. She directed me to a Lancome Renergie HCF Triple Serum that she said customers have raved about the results for dark spot correcting, but also warned that I would need to make sure I wore extra SPF when using it to protect my skin from addition damage. She recommended the Pacifica makeup setting spray, so I could reapply throughout the day, if needed for more protection. She also recommended an eye cream that has had good results for customers.

Lace: They have store hours, covid saftety restrictions (a sign that’s says 10 people inside only), AND a welcome back sign. Which indicates that they’re open. However they’re closed at 1PM in the afternoon on a Saturday and the back lights are on. It would help if they to remove the signs if they’re not open to the public during the pandemic. All of the other stores within the strip are open but them.

This is not my first visit to this store and normally I have had a good experience, however this morning the associate identify her self as an assistant manager follow me around as if I were going to steal something. I thought well maybe I was mistaken so I went to another aisle and then two more with in minutes of each aisle I moved to she was there. When I first entered the store she asked if I needed something, I replied" No, but if I do I will ask you. Thank you.". I have spent lots of money in this store particularly this location. I was assaulted and offended by her action. I am a African american consumer and I deserve to shop without being profiled particularly in this day and age. I left the items at the counter and politely told her I didn't appreciate her following me around as if I was going to steal something and that I will take my money somewhere else.

Liss Timperman: First and foremost I want to say I normally always love every experience coming here and I would normally give it a five star rating. The employees go above and beyond and are always so nice and are eager to help. You never feel like an inconvenience and they always greet you with a smile and ask how you are. Today, this evening after work I had a negative interaction at this location, though it was with the District Manager. I had previously called on my way to work this morning because one of my recently purchased products seems old, the other was way too heavy on my hair, and I gained permission with Liz to bring them in and exchange them since they were just purchased and used only twice. The liter of shampoo that seems old (which hasn’t been an issue here previously though this brand is relatively new to me and I love the oil) has small tiny texture in it that is a moisture shampoo that leaves a bad film on your hair. I used this shampoo literally only 2 days on my hair. I grabbed what I wanted to exchange my products out for knowing I would pay more and headed up toward the register. There was an employee I didn’t recognize working with another employee I’ve seen before. I started to take the products out I was going to exchange and the lady I hadn’t seem normally next to an employee That did look familiar to me picked them up and said “You can’t return these”. I told her I had called earlier and spoke to Liz and gained permission. She told me she was the District Manager and that she is over Liz and she is not going to allow me to return them there is way too much product gone. I informed her I just bought them a few days ago and tried them literally for two days. That is all and before I could tell her that one product had something wrong and the other reason she didn’t care to hear any of it and her irritation was further growing. She cut me off and said I am not allowing the return I am the District Manager. This is all she said to me and I stopped at this point and felt her unfriendliness and put all my things back into my bag and left the store. As a customer of this location and this company for 8 years now and in customer service for over 20 years this experience was highly disappointing. I have spent a lot of money with this company and every person that comes in this door every time deserves to feel loved and cherished as a person. I got nothing further spoke to me as I put my things in my bag. She did not even say I’m sorry I couldn’t help you today is there anything else I can do for you or even ask what made me want to return them? There was something wrong with the texture in the shampoo with tiny beads that left a heavy film on your hair and when I got home with it the day I purchased it recently I thought I felt light and not even full and thought maybe with Lanza products in the liters that’s just how they sell them as I’ve never purchased any liters in that line before. I didn’t like being accused of using a lot of it when that wasn’t the case at all and I only wanted to exchange it because it isn’t able to be used because it makes your hair have a film. It actually wasn’t even full when I got it to the top. It isn’t always what you say it’s how you say it. As a District Manager you should want to come across friendly to customers and kind. I would think even if you can’t resolve all of a customers needs you would want to try and want to make a customer leave smiling and feel like they had a pleasant experience. Instead she made me feel like I did something wrong and shamed. Today I had my first unpleasant experience at this location and it wasn’t due to any regular employees that I normally encounter here. She may be a very nice person normally but her customer service today was not a good and doesn’t represent the company well. Maybe she’s normally great at her job but I found it offensive.

We hadn't even opened the bottle, let alone filled it with TAP WATER. 🙄 She was beyond unprofessional and I just needed to return a product that I did not need. Sally’s is more expensive than the typical beauty supply stores but, have you ever been able to ask them a question such as. what is the appropriate way to remove hair color or which natural hair products work best with 4c hair? Laquisha Thornburd: The last manager who worked here was simply an excuse of a manager. No one ever given me such a bad attitude and all I wanted was help with my color! As I was talking to her she simply brushed me off and left me as another associate came and gave me “tips” which I knew were clearly wrong because now I’m walking around with burgundy instead of a vibrant red I wanted. You know who you are, I hope you get better training as a manager girl, cause never again am I coming back to a Sally’s again. And I hope who ever is reading this will think the same

Sharon Walker: Just left sallys here on a Sunday approximately 3:30pm. I walked in there was an asian family a couple other people and then me. No one acknowledge me at frist. To say hi or welcome. I then walked to the back where the beyone the zone hair sprays were. I seen so many different holding sprays. I wanted a recommendation from the heavy set girl who had reddish hair to say can i help you. She was on the office walking around. Then she came out of the office by passed me and didnt even say hi and asked the asian family do they need help with something. I was in the store a good 15min before any asked if i needed help with something. The young girl with long straight brunett hair finally help me decide on the freeze spray. Checked out the other girl who bypassed me came up to the counter and still didnt speak. But stated to the other girl who was checking me out that she wants to get her master degree before getting her cosmetology licence. The other girl who waited on me was helpful and friendly the other one appear that is was all bout her today. Wow talk about customer service at its finest. I will go 20min away to another beauty supply store to have come here

Shannon Gillen: 30+ minutes AFTER they were supposed to be open and NO ONE was there to open the store. I get that we're all short staffed, but you can't hope to keep a mall location in business if your store isn't open when it says it is.
