Natalia H: The employees here are helpful and nice, but the company has been terrible for the last 10ish years I’ve ever bought something from them. “Exchanges” typically means you get a different size or color of the same object for the SAME price, but here, they will charge you the full price for an exchange (if you get the item on sale, you should be able to exchange it for the same price you bought it, like any other store.) Anything technical or involving money has been awful here. REI doesn’t seem to understand what “member rewards” means. In any other store, you actually save money. REI rarely has sales, and when they do, they cover just barely more than tax. Plus, you would think discounted items still get you some cash back, but nope, REI doesn’t understand coupons. Go to Dick’s Sporting Goods or literally any other sports store for your gear (including the manufacturing sites.) [ I’ve been an outdoor enthusiast for about 15 years (novice to intermediate backpacking, rock climbing, skiing, running, swimming, etc.) ]

After realizing the kia dealership never gave me the keys to my Yakima factory cross bars, when I bought my car BRAND NEW, I struggled to get any clear answers from multiple kia dealership (4 to be exact) as well as getting mixed responses from representatives from the Yakima manufacturer website. All for Crysta at REI to go above and beyond to help me figure out which SKS key went with the cores inside my crossbars (which includes trying every single copy of key one at a time). She was so patient and tried to help me find the best and cheapest solution to avoid having to spend $100+ on a lock smith and a new SKS replacement kit. On top of all that this was my very first ever experience with REI and what an incredible first impression!!!!

Today I got a package from REI which surprised me, I had not placed another order. I open it up to find a nice letter from Calla in customer returns. I had accidentally included in the box with my return, one of MY bralettes. A bright green bralette no less. REI returns department was kind enough to ship it back to me at their expense. They could have just as easily tossed it away. I am incredibly impressed. Now off to do some REI shopping! Nice job!

Most of what we wear, probably comes from this establishment. After gifting several items to each member of the family from this store for Christmas, one item needed to be exchanged. My daughter tried, but didn’t have a receipt as it was a gift. They said they would refund .48 cents, because it was the lowest amount it would be sold for. It was five days after Christmas. So I went in. The employee told me that it looks sketchy to return something without a receipt. Thank you, young girl for the scolding. Could you be more rude? Never mind the fact that a scan of the tag would immediately pull up any information you need. (Yes, in retail that’s actually a thing) but that’s not the point. So I gave her my receipt, and she reluctantly refunded it so I could then regift it in a card. Thank you for the tedious, disrespectful experience. The literal thousands of dollars annually will be spent in a different store from now on. Customer Service? What might that look like?

When I got home the air pressure was so low I couldnt ride my bike. Did you put the lowest air pressure possible as a favor to me? When he brings my bike out while explaining to me exactly why i dont know anything it would be nice if my bike wasnt just haphazardly leaned on a display rack. Which brings up the questions, Why isnt there a bike rack on the sales floor of the bike shop? Why do people bringing bikes in just get looked at with a perplexed stare by the guy at the counter leaving them to be the ones to say " hey can i put this some where... or..... whats up??? This is only the most basic stuff i could go on an on about the dismal customer service but i digress. Im embarrassed for you and feel sorry for you. Adam Stanford: Came in to trade a set of clubs in on a different set of used clubs. Called ahead to let the store know my intentions and to confirm the clubs of interest were still available. Drove 30 mins and was at the store by 7:45pm. They close at 8:00. I was told all trade ins stop an hour before closing. Would have been nice to know that when I called at 7:15pm and driving 30 mins. So I contacted the store owner and was told come back and we will give a premium on your clubs trade value. I’m told to allow an hour for the consideration and appraisal of my clubs. It took 15 mins, ironically the same amount of time I would have had to do that the night before. Ok whatever.So the two younger employees had no idea about the previous day experience or all the emails that were exchanged and nobody I had been emailing was there to speak with. Even though they knew I was coming to move along with this process by 3:30pm.We moved forward with my clubs and selling for credit towards another used set, which have a multiple day guarantee. I tried them out and found a couple of them with similar issues. I purposed taking my old clubs back and they can have what they sold me. I contact the store by email again and I’m told the issue is not performance related but I can return them if I wish, but my old clubs already sold and there is a restocking fee because they paid a premium on the clubs I sold them.Every retailer has the right to do business how they want. I’m just letting the public know to avoid getting taken advantage of here like I did. These folks are not interested in keeping a long business relationship with anyone. If they were, I would expect better treatment for the experiences I was given!

Josh Box: Got a new freewheel put on my bike here. Service was ok but the guys seemed over it and uninterested. Also, came to pick up my bike and the air in my rear tire was low even though I dropped off the bike full up in both tires. Usually you get your bike back ready to ride away.
Jeff Larsen: I had a very unpleasant experience with The Bike Line and will not be giving them any more of my business. I brought my bike in to address an issue with the rear hydraulic brake and what should have been taken care of in a single visit took multiple trips because the service manager, Keegan, failed to properly determine the root cause of the issue (a leaking brake caliper) and then contaminated the new brake pads on the replacement caliper as well as a new rotor because of improper technique. When I questioned him over the phone why he deviated from the planned work which would have avoided this contamination he got very defensive and impatient with me. When I asked to speak to a manager he very rudely informed me that “I AM the service manager and THIS IS THE END OF THE LINE.” Eventually I was able to speak to an owner who was not at all understanding and instead came off as very evasive and passive-aggressive. I strongly recommend going to Grey Goat or BGI for bike service by competent professionals.

B Benson: Worst service customer service. I’ve witnessed multiple times when a passerby on a bike just needs to have something adjusted/tightened (seat post clamp, brake lever, etc.) and they just flat out say no. I was buying a small part in a pinch and had to help a customer with the tools I had in my car instead of the shop gaining a potential customer - they said they’d never buy anything from there. I’m in the area and I go out of my way to go elsewhere.

After a quick assessment I was not only told that they did not need anywhere near what I thought they did, but because it was a simple adjustment, they took care of it right there on the spot and I had my bikes back on my Jeep and headed home. When I insisted on giving them something for their time and honesty all they said was “we just want you to come back.“I wish there was a way to give more than five stars. I will send everyone I know to The Bike Line.

Richard Nussle: Stopped in recently to look at bikes. Bill ended up helping us. We were looking at bikes for me, wife and kid. He let us try out different bikes, talked about differences and helped us make decisions. He even offered to delivered the bikes for free the next day.While the bikes can be expensive, Bill was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I’d definitely go back if I needed to get another bike one day or other items needed for bike.

There isn't another shop in town that can compete with how much inventory of top brands they have on hand. No waiting till 2023 to get your dream bike. John Fritz: This is a nice bike shop. Exactly what you would expect, but the biggest difference is the employees. Ben help us out finding a pull behind for my bike. I wanted to be able to safely take my daughter on ride. Ben was very knowledge able and helpful. He eased my worries about the trailer and helped us find and fit helmets for my daughter and wife. He did not try to up sell me on overpriced substitutes that were inferior or the same quality as what I bought. My plan was to check around and shop at other places but I was so please with the service I bought everything that day and have been more than happy with the entire transaction. Big shout out to Ben.

Nina Mutone: I took my bike in to BGI North for a problem with the rear derailleur on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 1:45pm. I expected to leave it there with a service ticket and pick it up at a later date. Instead, the young gentleman at the service desk took a look at it, mounted it on the stand and within minutes had correctly identified and fixed the problem. He returned it to me immediately with no charge. What a delightful surprise, not expected but deeply appreciated. The knowledge of this service staff is impeccable and their customer service is a class act. I look forward to working with them many more times in the future.
Cameron: This place is awesome! I got my Trek Marlin 5 here a year ago. They encouraged me to test out a few bikes to see which I liked more. Very professional people. I was able to come here and get a 1 time free service tune-up (I believe valued at $75). They tuned my bike a lot better than I was able to on my own. I also got hydraulic break service done here. Very reasonably priced. I only give out 5 stars if Im blown away by a place. So great job everyone who works here.

BA Bernier: Did some shopping today found a couple winter coats and a sweater for my wife and myself. The selection is excellent along with quality products. The prices for brand names were competitive. Both my wife and I were very pleased. Service was good and checkout person was helpful. The one thing we noticed was the store was a little cluttered and needed some attention. We were there early. I think the staffing issues every where are the problems. With that said it was a great visit and we will return.

I laughed when I saw other employees go to “other” patrons and ask “if they were finding everything ok?” I could not even get eye contact.Perhaps a culturally inclusive training at your facility could help. I doubt it. I shouldn’t have to make mention that I am a doctor to gain respect. It was my off day, I don’t have to show up in doctor attire and even if I did, I doubt it would make a difference. Absolute waste of time and a joke of a store.Also their shoe scanner is broken so you have to battle other customers for a chance to have one of only two employees scan a shoe for you.Wouldn't be surprised if I was lied to about there being no 13.5 shoes just to cut down on the number of people in the department. Either way, the place is still a total joke.

I was told to have a good day on my way out the door. I know at least 3 of the employees saw me as they all walked past me. The women did at least twice and one of the managers did twice as well.
