Leslie's: what do users think?
Tim Diersing: Always friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of items stocked.
Deborah Tilford: I’ve been extremely disappointed. We’ve been to 3 different Leslie’s Pool Store Locations and all 3 Leslie’s pool stores tell us something completely different. Each employee tells us that the other employee from Leslie’s Pool Store was wrong and that they should not have sold us whatever chemicals we had previously purchased… We have bought so many chemicals and have followed their instructions and we never once got our pool water cleared. One Leslie’s Pool store employee told us that one of the chemicals we had been told to buy repeatedly was not even the same chemical the test advised to get. We have spent so much money on pool chemicals to try to get the problem fixed that we could have saved money buy just purchasing new pool water.. I gave 1star because we really do like the free water testing, it’s just the bad advice we get from the employees seems to be the problem.. 😔 We have given up on trying to fix the water because we have spent too much money. We are now just keeping chlorine in it to avoid mosquitoes..
H. Yee: Have been to this location a few times, but almost always the place is so busy it's a slower process to get in/out. At one point, I called in to order ahead but the foot traffic still impacted. Have bought bottle chlorine and some pool chemicals but rarely parts because of the time it would take to get someone's attention and lookup parts.
J P: Very knowledgeable and friendly. Even helped carry stuff to the car.
Jess - T: The guy was so rude with me . he was just straight mean and unproffesional. I ask about chlorine tablets and he told me i would have to buy a 250.00 bucket of them. I asked him if he was having a bad day. He rolled his eyes. I will NEVER go back to this location. Tall guy working rite before closing time on a friday
Felicia Wilson: The General Manager who is always there is very Knowledgeable and Helpful everytime I go there. He is a big asset to the business and is always there.
Tommy Cravens: They pretty much have all your pool needs
Carl LaFollette: Good Service 👍
Mike Martin: I GREATLY appreciate the advice and product availability. Now my official pool store now.
L R: Great local pool shop. Usually quite busy. Today there is one dude working and he is straight handling business.
Christina Moss: Very helpful.. Josh is an outstanding manager and very knowledgeable about pool questions and product services. The other employees as well are nice and answers questions but regardless it’s summer. Everyone is in need of products, chemicals and tests. Regardless the wait, have respect and patience or hire your own pool service boy and don’t take it out on employees 😉
WHYT3: Welcoming, knowledgeable, professional and great prices good variety products
Evan Eldridge: They did a full test on my water sample for free and gave me helpful information without trying to sell me anything. Outstanding service!!!
Ricky Raugh: Friendly staff and a good selection of pool supplies.
Rick McMasters: The manager was really helpful and knowledgeable.
Shannon StJohn: Staff has changed therefore everything about the place has also changed & not for the good. Been going there 6+ yrs the same girl was always there but shes gone now..someone needs to go beg her to come back. Ask about a new pump/filter system the girl working had no clue so we bought a new one from a different place. They are out of chemicals..never happened before but the answer is "THEY DIDNT SEND ME ANY". 2 days ago I went to get my water tested..2 customers ahead of me so i filled out the paper dropped water in #1 cup..came back an hour later..water had not been touched! but your sample is only good for hour.. I left
Jessica Pulley: The manager Josh, has been my go to guy recently . He’s absolutely wonderful and very knowledgeable of his pool stuff. Every time I’m at the shop he’s bouncing around juggling everything in the store. He handles it all so well! Josh is so friendly to all the costumers and helps the other employees when ever they need something or have a question. Thank you Josh for all your help...you need a raise! (:
James Baca: Did not have what I needed but customer service was great. I will come back when I need new equipment or oarts.
Fred Huffman: Quite busy on water testing but very good service
Jennifer Parrott: Knowledgeable staff
Dana Wyatt: The sales staff really helpful.

Pate's Pool Service & Supply: what do users think?
steve sutherland: Definitely go elsewhere for your pool needs. I was told by Dave, maybe the owner or manager, to take my business elsewhere after they came to open the pool, and all of a sudden the handle to my water tank is broken, and I watched them open it and tear the webbing between the cover and cloth. I merely brought the handle in to ask his perspective, and he told me they have plenty of business and to take mine elsewhere. Not interest in servicing the equipment or even repairing it. If things go smooth I’m sure they are great, if anything at all happens, good luck
Bobby Smock: They did a terrible job didn't get my hot tub clean, and now I have a leak somewhere. I called and was call a liar said they passed on all types of information which they did not, they made several assumptions, which were not true. When asked to speak to a manager the woman told me well what do you want me to do about it
Chris Bowen: I try really hard to support local businesses but when they don't adhere to their posted hours on the door, what am I supposed to do? I can't take a chance of going out of my way just to leave empty-handed.I was just in a major car accident and could really use some time in the hot tub so I guess I'll have to figure out another place to get the chemicals I need and my own testing equipment. Tried to catch you a couple times the last two weeks but both times close early.
John Johnston: Very happy with Pate's. They are always responsive and have great communication.
Derrick Kelly: Don’t go to them, horrible company ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️Talk to the manager and his wife both are very rude highly recommend do not go to this place every body needs to read this review and look at the other reviews horrible company do not do not spend your money with them strongly advise‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
J C: I will definitely stay away from this company from now on. Charged an arm and a leg and my pool still looked gross
Tammy Vermillion: These people are wonderful. The talented gentleman were polite and kind. They worked very hard in the hot and sticky weather. Because they worked so hard, our pool was finished early! We get to enjoy it for the holiday! This is a top notch business that does high quality work. I highly recommend them! 5 stars!!!
Harlon Wilson: Won me over from Leslie's. Left the high-price - horrible service company to find awesome service and support at Pates. Thanks Sue for all your help and training on chemicals. See yah soon.
Kris Deutsch: Not as much stuff. Strictly pool-related
Carrie Keeley: We lived in Indy for a couple years in a wonderful home that came with a beautiful pool and spa- having never been pool owners, we needed a company that would teach us and help service our pool. The co we had the first summer did not, so we switched to Pate's and they have been great! Lori is very quick to respond to emails and explain what is going on. Russell who handled the major parts issues (the pool was 10+ yrs old and so things started to wear out, as they will on anything) always found options for us, and responded quickly. A couple times we had issues with chemicals being 'off' in the pool, the staff were always ready to help out and make the situation better. Much of Covid we were stuck in MA, and they had no issue continuing to help us out while we were away. We have sold the house and moved permanently to MA, but have highly recommended Pate's to the new family for future service. Thanks, Lori, Russell and all for all you did for us!!!
Mr. Keele: I have used Pate’s pool service to open, close, and maintain my pool for years. They are fantastic. They fix problems quickly and keep us up and running. Thanks to the entire team!
Richard Gibson: Had a hot tub that died, and searched Greater Indy for someone willing and able to fix it. Only Pate's was willing to take a look at it. Russell found the problem after quite an extensive search; it was a huge effort just to move the thing into a position from which he could open the access plate. And the contortions he had to put himself into, to reach, remove and replace the bad heater element! Oy.He did it all with easy confidence and a "no big deal" attitude. It's been fine ever since.Pate's services our hot tub and our pool. They're punctual and professional. I've not had a problem since. And all of the service staff, especially Lori, are the nicest people you could deal withI'm a big fan of Pate's
Rick Peltz: I used Pates Pool service for almost 2 years. It started off great and then slowly deteriorated. The company was sold after my first year and things changed. First change was they would no longer would store my winter cover. OK, I figured out a place to store it. Not a huge deal. They opened the pool in April and I pre-purchased all the chemicals. I had weekly service. Every time they serviced, I had to hunt for my receipt. Sometimes in the back door, side door, front door, on my storage box, and sometimes it vanished. I emailed Lori about this. She said she would add notes to my profile. Nothing changed. My pump was making a louder than normal noise since opening. Nobody could figure out why this was happening after a few service calls. I was concerned it would fail. Finally, they said change it out for $800 or so because they could not figure it out. I decided not to as it did work, just made loud noises. They came to service on 8/12 and Lori emailed me that afternoon saying my pump housing had failed and they were unable to service that day and would come back 8/13 to repair which I replied 'thank you'. Jason, their service tech did come back the next day to make the repair. Interesting note when this was fixed, the loud noise that I have been hearing all summer stopped. Hmmmm..... Anyway, we do not use our pool during the week so Saturday morning, I opened the pool to find the water level below the tile line, the water cloudy, and the bottom filthy. I emailed Lori, no response. I called Jason. No response. I texted Jason. No response. As the morning progressed, it got worse and then the pump lost its prime. I began to panic a bit as we were having a party that evening. Called and texted Jason again. No response. I then decided to call their shop hoping to get some emergency number but they answered. The lady, I forgot her name, was great. I explained the situation and she said she would call me back. When she did, she said she talked to Jason. (Why he wouldnt talk to me I dont understand) she said when he left, it was working fine. I understand Jason may have been off that weekend but all I was looking for is his suggestions to fix the issue. He chose to ignore my calls for help. The receipt he left me said nothing about low water. Had he left a note or called me the day of service asking me to add water, there would have been no issue. Anyway, I filled the pool back up, I was able to reprime the pump, and all was good other than my filthy pool floor. I again emailed Lori and I asked her to call me Monday to discuss the situation. No call. I emailed again. No call Tuesday. I emailed again asking if they still wanted me as a client because nobody was calling me back. I received an email from David saying they no longer would work with me and would not come back to clean my pool they were supposed to clean the week before. I guess nobody likes to hear complaints. I, also being in the service industry, love to hear complaints as that is the only way I can fix things. I can guarantee that when my clients call my techs, they answer and help them over the phone. Pates obviously does not. I was disappointed in the communication. I was a good client who paid their bills each week without question yet when things went bad one weekend, they couldn't handle it. Not sure if this would have happened with the previous owner or not.
Kelly Applegate: Pates charged us a $100 fee even though they did not provide any service. They were very dishonest and we are really disappointed. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for a company to assist with your pool. Again, instead of calling to confirm the appointment, they sent an email the day before, which showed up in my wife’s junk email Inbox. We would have been happy to pay these fees if we would have confirmed the appointment.
Ian Thompson: Outstanding CS good price on parts and service
Taniece Woodson: Fast & knowledgeable service.
Rob Scubelek: Full of rich, unemployed white women with nothing better to do than spend a half hour asking questions to buy something they still don't understand, so that they can feel a tiny spark of a sense of accomplishment, occasionally glancing back at the line stretching out the door and smiling to themselves at how important they are.If you're not looking for pool chemicals or $2k robot pool vacs, you will be out of luck.
Laura Harbert: Pates pool service came to vacuum my pool in the pouring rain. The note that they left stated that due to the rain the weren’t sure how good of a job they did. Needless to say it was done correctly there was still lots of debris on the bottom. Of course I was still charged $160.00. I complained and asked that my money be refunded or they could come vacuum my pool correctly. Fortunately I was refunded my money, but was left a ugly voicemail stating the would not treat my pool ever again. I had this company close my pool last year and spent over $800.00, I was not negative towards them in the least. So lesson learned with this company, if you don’t mind subpar work they will keep you as a customer, otherwise your history. Customer service doesn’t exist anymore!
H. Yee: 2021 pool water test great.Older: Pate's automated pool chemistry analyzer generated in printout along with you tube videos posted by Family Fitness (formerly Watson's). But what I have learned to start the pool for water chemistry is to address #1) alkalinity then #2) ph then other factors (such as sanitizer, stabilizer and last hardness/minerals) from my perspective. For years I had it wrong and ignored alkalinity but that is a prerequisite for ph which is a prerequisite for sanitizer, etc.By the way, we have a fiberglass pool and well water which is severely susceptible to wall staining that no one (!) could tell me the correct combination and sequence of remedies that I had to figure out on my own over a several year period. I would use Pate's again moreso for their computerized pool water analysis but keep in mind the correct pool water chemistry sequence to address and not concurrently.Bottom line is Pate's did not miraculously provide the full solution to my wall staining, brown/green (not algae but copper issues), algaecide, cloudiness, chlorine guzzling pool but by far they helped enough that I could figure out the rest after other research. Also, muriatic acid (for remedying high alkalinity) was miraculous for me (after aboiut 3 gallons in a 14k gallon pool) before addressing ph and sanitizer. But be careful it is heavily corrosive and should NOT be stored in non-ventllated building nor near metals. To address the high CU content, those CUlinators did not work well and sequestering/flocculants a little better but expensive. So we found draining the fiberglass pool partially and refilling with well water is ok BUT NOT TO USE ALGAECIDE WITH HIGH CU/METAL CONTENT. Virtually ALL of the algaecides have metal / cu to combat algaecide but there is one (more expensive) algaecide we now use that is SILVER-based that does not stain walls we have and will be using that helps loads than yellowish CU. The Silver algaecide liquid is dark brown but properly applied doesn't stain (fiberglass) pool walls. We also partially drain our pool water during winter prep and allow rain/snow water to refill (rather than expensive pool water tanker replacement). This seems to be the only relatively sure-fire way to remove high mineral/CU content without spending tons of $ on chemicals. Be sure to use silver not cu-based algaecide too.Original post: I'm in the process of clearing up a serious longstanding multi-year recurring pool water high Cu, phosphate, ph, alkaline, algae and fiberglass pool wall mineral staining issues,. I've contacted umpteen pool and chemical companies about these issues and so far Chris of Pates has been very helpful and informative with recommendations and specific steps/timing of procedures for applying chemicals to rectify and answering questions with alternative, future solutions. Pates is the only retail store that I've encountered that has a specialized water chemistry testing eqiupment that prints out a detailed water analysis (including the acceptable ranges) for the typical results (ph, alkalinity, stabilitzer, etc.) but also the only one i've seen with phosphorous, iron and copper. This test equipment I was told by one of the retail store persons is from the makers of pool chemicals, Natural Chemistry (I believe) which I had never heard of this equipment before.I hope to update this post as the pool water treatment progresses because the issue may result in complete swapping out of our pool water if these recommendations don't resolve our pool water problems complicated by we use well water. This pool water replacement has been recommended by multiple companies, but we have yet to spend a lump sum of $ for that task, as well as the complexity of doing so for a fiberglass tub pool.I'm withholding the fifth star rating (or otherwise) based on pending results of the pool chemistry recommendations now in process, and for continuing customer service quality. If you use Pates, I recommend Chris specifically at that store for detailed questions. Hope to update this post soon.
Fred Poland: Like most retailers everything seems to be difficult. Pate's in the past have provided exellent service.
Matt Amos: Great service, good prices, knowledgeable staff.

Superior Pool Products LLC: what do users think?
Stayfocused87: I wouldn't ever work for this place. Management is horrible and nepotism is highly involved when it comes to their hiring process. They'll hire a rotten tooth older guy with no experience over someone who's young and ambitious. The company keeps a dusty warehouse, and I know for a fact that I wouldn't spend my money with this business. Out of all the pool companies in the city, this will be the last place I'll come to. Spend your money with a better pool product company.
raju singh: It’s was a nice experience. Nice staff , clean restroom inside . Unloaded in 30 minutes . Kind of tight parking but you will get it , Get there help to watch for cars . I took Washington exit then right on lynhurst dr but I had to back whole traffic coz very tight right turn . Better take some other route or street
David Robinson: Very friendly and courteous!
Riz Forrester: Very nice store !!!
Curtis Parker: Heather and Rob are amazing!
Kevin Fletcher: Superior always has exactly what we need.

Angie's Pool & Spa: what do users think?
Anthony Coulson: Detail oriented, work preformed better than expected, and the staff was very friendly.
Emily Pringle: Quoted a price but ended up paying double, they said I signed for all the upgrades but I thought I was signing just for my credit card. I asked just for closing, which I thought would include putting on the cover but that was 85$ extra. Never heard of closing a pool without putting on a cover. I totally understand that prices have gone up but in 29 years of having our pool closed with the cover on it has never been over 400$. Angie’s Pools have been around for years and they did a good job but they should have, that’s why people hire them but beware if all the upgrade prices!!!! Very disappointed!!!!
Sharon Hunt: They are always helpful and greet you when you come in. They were out of what we needed, but, so was everyone else. There are 3 other pool suppliers closer to us, but we trust Angie's for the past umpteen years!
Don Stone: The staff is always so friendly and helpful.
Jeff Meece: Great people too do business with save money shop Angie pools
Tony Little: If they're too busy to answer the phone at Tuesday at 1 o'clock in the afternoon how to make me wonder what kind of service you're gonna get.
Nate C: Awesome experience, super friendly. Clean and well maintained store. They offer spas, pool design and service, as well as Primo charcoal grills. They have gas and pellet grills too.
Kyle Myers: UPDATED-Thank you for the letter and discount for the experience. You noted to hopefully earn our business in the future, however I will service my pool personally. Thanks again, you reaching out added another star!Original post-My dad offered to pay to have my above-ground pool closed for the season, and he mistakenly chose to have Angie's Pools do the job.I have closed, opened and maintained my pool for over 9 years based on the manufacturer and installation recommendation, so when I say services understood to be performed were not done satisfactorily- I know what I'm talking about. When questing the agreement the person (Ally, Alley, Alli, Ali- whatever) that finalized the billing had the audacity to say to me something to the effect of, if you know how to do it, why didn't you do it yourself.. like really!?! You're questioning why we sought your companies services?!?I had nothing but good faith the job would be done, that an amicable solution could be reached when they weren't done as expected, then chastised as to why we were paying for your services??Would you pay over $425 for this?? (See Photos)
Adam Nelis: Nice place an chill atmosphere. On a better note Angie's is closest place that carries liquid chlorine cause 3"tabs are obsolete since someone burns plant down and everyone needs tabs. Anyhow Angie's always has more than what you need ...of not they'll order it! Always a pretty smile to make your transaction complete!! Thank you!!
Rachel Chambers: Very overpriced and sub par customer service. Much better options out there.
Nick Harris: Very helpful pricey but helpful
Brian Capps: Zane is very helpful this young man knows quite a bit only thing is is their prices are a little high with their selection but overall advantageous
Joshua Johnson: Love this place very helpful and always has what I need I would recommend this place over and over again love the people very polite and always help you carry the heavy weight product to your car
Kimirly Black: They installed our pool and pump 3 years ago. Went in today to get a replacement o-ring for the pump. Had the worst experience. They have no idea about replacing parts. 1 employee is working while 6 others are standing around gabbing to each other and not helping at all. They do not know how to cross reference gaskets for pumps they were carrying recently, and in general suck. I highly suggest do what I am now doing, AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Millard Harris: Great service and very knowledgeable about pools and spas. Quick reads on water samples too
Jennifer Burn: Just happened by and wanted to see what they had in stock for kids toys. Extremely friendly staff.
PoHillBilly RedNeckery: They make it easy to maintain my pool, great customer service
Joey: They opened and closed my pool for a reasonable price. They also have a good price in liquid chlorine. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Rebekah Jones: If I could leave 0 stars I would. I have been an Angie's customer for years and there service has declined to the point that you cannot trust employees integrity. I will never use them again. I was billed for an incomplete job, green pool,, and called to speak with Allie the manager and was told my pool was "open". They keep your bank information. They refused to honor a gift card they sold an elderly family member a week prior, dumped leaves into my pool and claimed I had a leak that would cost me hundreds of dollars just for a new team to come out and tell me what was wrong. Today I had a different company come out for "leak" and found they loosened my equipment. Run don't walk. I hope Angie reads this and reexamine her employees. She lost a loyal customer.
Neal Jones: Great company if you want to get overcharged and not know it until you see your credit card statement for what they choose to over charge. Everytime you turn your back Shane is trying to skimp past details needed to keep your pool equipment in good condition. They break your pool and act like they did nothing to cause it. Then just charge you for new parts. Everything they do is overpriced and in a complete rush, just to get to the next house to get that service charge.... want to buy a gift certificate to help someone with pool costs... they'll sell it to you, but then won't let it be used.... absolute trash company. Shane shows up at your house. Don't take your eyes off him. Don't even give these people a chance, it's a waste of your time and money.
Bobby T: Best place to get a pool or spa friendly hard working folks

Kayak Pools Midwest: what do users think?
Kim McDonald: We had a pool installed in 2020. Immediately the pool started leaking. I made multiple calls and emailed. I never received a response. In the past 2 weeks I have left 5 messages regarding our liner is floating. No one has returned my call. Adrian and Diamond were the people that I have left messages. What else is a person to do? Reading these reviews has made me think the BBB is our next step
Bryan Martin: UPDATE:As you can see below, 2 months ago they replied to this review. ZERO follow up. ZERO attempt to contact me. Again, bait and switch, smoke and mirrors - whatever you want to name it. Dishonest company. The sales process was actually fun and informative! However, BEWARE of the bait & switch! They “verbally” said that we could simply pay a REFUNDABLE deposit, with anticipation of an install the following spring. We changed our minds a couple months later. And guess what? The refund is non-refundable 😱 When I asked their accounting department, I was told they were going to process it, then a couple weeks later - denied. We read and saw in the contract they sent us about deposits, but made an assumption based on our verbal conversations (many times) that our deposit was fully refundable. Disappointed in their lack of concern and extreme lack of honoring the several conversations we had.
Amy: We have been trying for 5 months to get someone to come out for a pool estimate, and the kicker is we already paid for it! We were told it had to be paid for prior to the estimate. So we paid for it. We were told someone would be out last October, no one ever came. My husband and I called multiple times since then and not even so much as a return call. We were told several times “ be patient with us “. I’m not sure how much more patience we have. Do not recommend!
Jessica Farley: 2021, the first summer we can actually use our pool from the start of the season (we had another company fix the issues in July of 2020) .... we signed contract with kayak in 2018. . What a miserable process. I would never recommend Kayak pools. . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Update 7/8/2020: We hired another company to come fix our issues with the pool. I would never recommend Kayak Pools Midwest to anyone. . . . .Update as of 7/6/2020: Our service call to fix our issue with the pool has been cancelled due to me making a bad review. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .UPDATE AS OF 7/2/2020: Still no call or email with a date on fixing the issue we let them know about in April. This will mark week 3 since Lesley assured us we would hear from an installer by end of day Friday..Original post:I believe the worst decision we ever made was choosing Kayak Pools Midwest...For us, this whole experience and what was supposed to be an exciting thing, has been nothing short of a nightmare in our opinion, this has really been so disappointing. In response to the owners response: The review is unfair? The review is most accurate with our experience. We notified Kayak of the new issue with the pool in mid-April, when the installer stated that it was his mistake and he would be out to fix it. After numerous emails were sent by my husband on getting a date to have the issue fixed, we received an email from Lesley assuring us we would hear from an installer by end of day on Friday (approx. two weeks ago), we have yet to hear from anyone on a set date. No one from Kayak has been on our property. So to say that you have done so much over the last few weeks to help the situation is a complete lie. In fact, after we made the initial review we received an email from Lesley saying that her manager requested her to cancel the service call until the review is removed. There is a disconnect between installers and the office employees, I would highly suggest that gets fixed instead of blaming the consumer for every issue, as I‘ve noticed Kayak does in most reviews.
Brian Ballard: We put a Kayak pool in in 2020. Everything was great at first, even with delays that we expected during Covid. We talked to Kayak in the spring and didn't really hear much until our pool went in in November. About a month after the pool went in the back wall buckled and started sloping down (common thing with Kayak pools). We reached out to Kayak about the issue and delayed our contractor until the spring to do the patio pavers around the pool. Kayak never reached out so we went ahead with the contractor work because he had other projects coming up. We left the 2 ft surround hollow underneath so we could do repairs at some point. Our contractor tried to hide the "curve and slope" the best he could (see picture). The pool holds water and operates fine but the 2 ft surround is bouncy and of course the back wall is curved and slopes down. Can't even put a small basketball hoop there because it wants to slide into the water.Have reached out to Kayak multiple times since then only to be left hanging. Phone messages and emails no longer get returned. I was told somebody would contact me to come out to my house in two weeks in April of 2022 but that never happened. We are just looking for the "fix" for the pool. We spent 80K plus in the backyard with the pool, landscaping, pavers, new fence (not in picture), pergola etc and everything looks awesome except the crooked pool. It's actually kind of embarrassing. The back wall bowed well within the warranty and it should be fixed. Our contractor hated the work they did putting in the pool.We are just looking for the fix and move forward. I am sure there are good people that work at Kayak but this has been disappointing.
Sarah Gonzalez: I am not reviewing the pool or product, but the company itself. They have been very difficult to work with as they do not have clear communication on their services and their turnover is horrible. Anytime we thought we would get someone helpful to work with, they were all of a sudden gone from the company. Most of the positive reviews are fake and bought and done by their employees (per en ex employee). If it’s one thing you do before you buy from this horrendous company is go to the Facebook group: KAYAK POOL OWNERS. Search and read all the post and comments of all the unhappy customers. We signed a contract for an inground pool, but learned it’s not a true inground pool. Not only that, our salesman made false promises and used typical corporate jargon to get us to sign. After being fed up with the process and lies, we communicated we want out of the contract and a refund of our down payment. Our salesman contacted us and requested we send them documentation from our village so he could recommend to the owner the contract be dissolved and it’s been crickets. We tried to resolve amicably, but are now contacting attorney general in our state and theirs, BBB & working with an attorney. BUYER BEWARE!
Danielle Talbot: It has not been a great experience with Kayak Pools Midwest. We were oversold and over promised on installation and once installation was completed the real nightmare began. We have called and emailed several times and our concerns have not been addressed, nor have we even received a call back/email response. We do not have the correct stairs in our pool. The ones we have float around and have caused injury to a user. We do not have the safety hand rail installed on our pool. We do not have the ladder installed in the deep end. We have called multiple times trying to get Kayak to come out and fix these problems. Another big problem we have is they installed the wrong size water heater for our pool, so the water heater is useless and can't keep up. If we do have it on it runs 24/7 (which increased our bills significantly) or we leave it off (what a waste of money having it installed) and have freezing cold water to swim in. We had our pool installed July 2022 and as of now still have not had any of our problems addressed or rectified. We would appreciate a call from upper management or the owner to help resolve and fix our pool to make it safe to use as well as have the products we paid for. We are process of filing a complaint with the BBB to either have our issues resolved or follow up in court to get money back and will follow through with the complaint unless we receive a call and all issues are addressed. The money "saved" by using Kayak is not worth it and I would not recommend them for pool installation.
Jeff Siebert: Kayak Midwest was great! They let me know up front that my install would be in about 6 months, but it got installed in 4. The were very nice and kept me informed the whole time. The installation crew was amazing!!!. Everyone I talked to or emailed was so nice. Mario the salesman was the best!! Thanks for a great experience!!
AcTiVe HEALTH: I regret to have a contract with them , they never answered our calls and they promise to install our pool in one year but the real we count the days to be almost 2 years now they are unprofessional always twisting the words they let us sign many contract regard that start with Jammie and Jose and diamonds really I m not happy . And final they sent us email with the delivery date for the pool without date for the installation this is bad and asking for the amount due , but. Now they don’t want to answer our calls I m not recommended this company to anyone
james romine: We are over 18 months into this process and we still don't have a completed pool. The most recent development is that our backfill was done incorrectly so now our hard cover can't be installed. The backfill was also done while we were out of the country because no one ever bothered to contact us and let us know when they were coming. The communication with Kayak has been abysmal. Repeated requests to speak to a supervisor or manager have gone unanswered. Definitely would not recommend at this point.
Janice Whitbeck: We have used Kayak Pools Midwest twice now to install a Kayak pool. We have been very satisfied with the pool and service. The contractors were here as scheduled and worked all day until the pool was complete. The yard was a bit torn up from the machine they used ( Mostly hidden behind the pool) but other than that we were happy.
Shay Olsen: UPDATE:September 22, 2022We had a fantastic experience with Kayak pools Midwest from start to finish. We signed and paid late May 2022, with the expectation of install by mid to late summer. The pool was installed September 19-20, keeping everything on target for when we agreed in our contract. The staff kept consistent communication with us during the whole process, and the pool was installed perfectly. We are very happy with our purchase and the entire process, and I would gladly refer anyone to kayak pools midwest! We have just recently signed a contract with Kayak Midwest to get our very first pool. We were referred to Kayak Pools by my cousins who have had their Kayak above ground pool for 15 years and it looks good as new. It was the exact pool we were wanting because of all the features and us not knowing a thing about a pool, this “virtually maintenance free” pool has been verified by my cousins and is exactly what we need!I can’t attest to much since we have just begun the process, but what I can attest to is the customer service we have received so far. Jamie Collins has gone above and beyond and she has been a pleasure to work with. Our original contract was a 12x24 above ground, but after some thought and measuring we decided that a 16x24 would work better for us. I requested a change order before the pool was ordered and Jamie was on top of it. Processed the change order in a couple days and we are moving forward with the next steps.I also had questions about the permits for my county while at the inspectors office. I left a message, assuming I wouldn’t hear back for a few days but that was not the case. Jamie called back and gave me what I needed to finish the application and we were permitted the next day.A lot can go wrong with any big project, and I am not naive to that. However, I feel strongly that Kayak Midwest cares about their customers and when communicated with respectfully, they will do whatever it takes to ensure your investment in one of their pools is not only successful, but as stress free as possible.I can’t wait to update this review with a picture of our dream backyard!
Kim Wiederholt: Horrible installation experience and worse service. Took 3-years to get warranty work done. Pool leaked, when calling in to follow up on the issue follow up I had to explain the issue all over again.
Christine Mcnamee: It’s been a couple of weeks since my last review and believe it or not my pool still sits with no liner. Emails have went out to Jose and Shawn with absolutely no response. The installers did contact me on Thursday at 8:24 am when I was already at work and on my way 1 hour away. I informed them that I was not able to do last minute scheduling . I emailed Jose and Shawn again today- Again- No response. This has been the worst experience that we’ve had with ANY company. Communication is very poor, no one returns calls or even emails. They are completely ignoring us and we have paid more everything up front except 1000.00. I feel as if I need to contact someone to assist us.
Christine Ball: We had the Best experience with Kayak. Starting with John Michael Marty to John Tyle. And all the ladies in between. You guys are awesome and I want everyone to know. We love our new pool. And liked everything about our experience.
John Pell: I recently posted a negative review due to some issues we were having with our install. I admit that I'm not a patient person. Since that review I can tell you that the customer service has been excellent and the team has worked diligently to resolve our issues and I am happy to say that we have a beautiful pool just in time for the holiday weekend. A special thank you to Adrian who followed up with me daily to ensure we were aware of everything that was going on. When it comes to customer service she is a rock star!! Thank you to everyone who made our pool install happen.
Crystol Smith: We love our Kayak pool! We decided a couple summers ago that we were done setting up and taking down our Coleman. Our sales rep Mario took us though all our options and made sure we got the best set up for our family and within our budget. There was or course log delays with the delivery and install like so many things these days, but Kayak updated us weekly on the status of our pool. Rudy, the installer, was great. When the weather finally cleared, his friendly team had our pool up in a day. The maintenance is super simple, and we have already made so many memories is just the first season and are looking forward to so many more.
Christy King-Mcnamee: I wish i could say that I've had fabulous service. We've had ongoing issues since May of this year. We only ordered a liner install with other components to be replaced as they were old. Still functional yes but in need of replacement. Once our supplies arrived the first time, the installers came out and worked all day doing the prep work. The installers were a good group of people. At the end when it was time to finally put in the liner. The darn thing was to big. It said the correct size on the box but the liner was clearly a different size. The installer called Kayak (Shawn) or Shawna I believe. At first, the talk about was next day air or having the new one shipped out to the house immediately, where they would also pick up the incorrect liner. After a few weeks of NO COMMUNICATION I contacted Jose and the installers. Jose told me he would look into it, but he never called me back. The installers however did but they asked me if it was shipped out yet? I told the installers that I had not heard one thing from Kayak. I was worried as my inner walls of my pool had already been exposed for weeks. I had back surgery in May so I'm not able to do a lot of things at the moment until November. When the installers left their original day they did ask me if i wished for it to be covered back up but we were thinking it would be replaced soon and they would be back out -so my answer was "no".August 18th comes, the day the installers informed us that they were Picking up the new liner and heading my way sometime later in the day. Great! Fabulous! I was at home all day and not working that day AGAIN to allow them to come and finish the job. At 5:30pm the installers call and state they weren't able to get the liner from the warehouse. All they could do was apologize. I called JOSE who then told me that they've had problems with the warehouses not allowing people to enter. They rent warehouse space and clearance wasn't given for them to enter etc etc. He stated it happens a lot to them. I told Jose I wanted to speak with someone higher up and he stated he would get the manager. I was on hold for 18 minutes. I hung up and called back three times in which Jose finally picked up and apologized again "that he was speaking to his boss about the situation" Jose stated that they are working on and to allow them to work something out and they would give me a call back.I don't typically like to complain, I've been pretty understanding about the whole situation. However, there comes a time when people need to accept responsibility and right the wrong in a timely manner. We have had no access and my pool has been laying bare and open with numerous storms that have passed. Still with no LINER. All the prep work that was completed by the installers has dang near fallen down (the tape work, padding) and I wonder how much damage or water log has happened to my interior walls. I actually feel bad for the installers as they will have to come back out and redo all their original prep work before they can even place the correct liner. We are paying a substantial amount of money for the supplies and the labor for what we thought was going to be the best experience since our pool is in fact a Kayak Pool. You would exceptional customer service when dealing with any department of a corporation that has been around for as long as Kayak has been around. I don't want anything free, I just really want my pool repaired and to be functional again.I would really appreciate a call from the owner or someone higher up. Communication has been lacking and I just want this rectified with assurance that our interior walls are still okay. The pictures below are pictures taken today. This is how it has sat for over a month.
Keith Kalinke: I needed a liner replaced and received great customer service. All of the parts were ordered by just looking at my account and I was emailed an estimate . So simple and stress free.
Tanner Hughes: We are very happy to be owners of a Kayak Pool! We have the 16x24 end deck above ground pool. We have enjoyed this pool as well as the low maintenance filtration system. We have also been quite pleased with the solar cover maintaining a comfortable water temp this season. We feel our family and pets are safe too with the nice deck, fence and gate system. We recommend this company and product to help you create your backyard oasis.
IKEAbeds: I contacted kayak pools in regards to holes in my solar cover. I purchased my pool last year. The solar cover is not covered under warranty however kayak pools kindly offered to send me a new one free of charge. Excellent service, very appreciated!

Sun-Fun Pools: what do users think?
M. Fawad Bilal: Didn't appreciate the experience at all. Poor communication. The guy came without a notice for pool opening. I called a week prior for pool services and I was told someone will be calling to get scheduled for Monday. No one called and the guy showed up. It was a courtesy of my dad who let him in. He barely stayed for 15 min and asked my dad to bring the water level to certain mark and left after some chemical treatment and checking the equipment to make sure it is working. No one ever returned to turn the pool on and we were told that everything is working ok. It probably is but I am unable to do so on my own and thats why we sought professional help. We paid the monry they charged us and now when I called them to help me with it, the lady whom spoke to told me that she will charge another 125$ to have someone come and take a look? Seriously? How fair is that? I expected better service and it's a total rip off. Stay away. Very rude customer service.
Inigo Montoya: Anthony came by to give a quote and haven't heard from them again? Called and left messages and no response.
Tyler Wilt: Sun-Fun Pools replaced our pool liner after small leaks in the old liner became prevalent. The replacement was fast, efficient, and looks wonderful. Thank you!
Chris Collins: Small town feel with all the hospitality!
Valerie Robinson: The staff at Sun-Fun is so knowledgeable and helpful!
Sarah Archer: We had a great experience with Sun Fun from start to finish. Anthony was kind, knowledgable, and professional to work with. He was always available to answer any questions we had and we would definitely recommend him.
KaBoom ZeroDeaths: Would not recommend. Bad communication and unhelpful.
Robbie Richmond: Last year in 2020 we found out that we had ground squirrels under our pool liner, Anthony came out and told us since it was the end of the year we should wait until spring to have it fixed. He quoted us a price of $100 to come out and pull the liner back and fill in the holes and$400 to replace the pool water. He told us that we would have to drain the pool ourselves, which we had no problem with. When calling the store in April 2021 Anthony Now states that he never quoted us that price of $100 and wanted to charge us more. We would not make up such a thing and think that his way of doing business is very unprofessional. So always get things in writing from him because he will go back on his word
Doug Fithen: The owner came out for pool school with us. Didn’t try to sell us anything just went through what I knew and added recommendations. He made some suggestions of how to make things easier and more effective. I will be spending my money with them for sure!
Emily Keane: We had the best experience from Sun-Fun Pools! We had a pool installed in October and couldn’t be happier with it! Anthony is very easy to work with and was always available for all our questions throughout the process. The crew installing it was great. They were perfectionists and checked in with us every time they were here to make sure we were happy at each step. The concrete team was fantastic. This part was just as important to us as the pool. Joe has been doing this a long time and it shows in his work. He was extremely patient with us and it turned out great! I can’t say enough good things about Sun-Fun Pools, Anthony, and the entire crew!
Loni Riley: If you are looking for installation of a new pool, this company is the way to go. We had an in-ground pool installed this summer. Anthony (owner) is by far the reason we chose to build with them. For one I love that it's a small local business. We got exactly what we wanted and and they go above and beyond during the whole process to keep you informed. Anthony was always involved and made us feel like a priority. The whole process went very smoothly and all of the people working on the pool were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I asked tons of questions, and all of them gave me the time I needed.I highly recommend using them for your pool installation, service and pool products.
Emaun Niknafs: This is the only pool company I will ever work with or recommend, especially if you are considering having an in ground pool built. If you are reading this and considering a pool for your back yard do yourself a favor and call. You won't need to call anyone else.
David Sudhop: Very personalized assistance with my pool needs.
Kenneth T: Sun Fun Pools installed my new liner this week. I have always recommended Sun Fun Pools for closings as they do a great job, but the installation of my liner was even more professional. What impresses me the most is the installation was handled by the owners - they didn't "farm it out" to a team, but handled the installation personally. In having it done by the owners you expect the work to be detailed and professional and Sun Fun Pools did not disappoint. I highly recommend Anthony and Dominic at Sun Fun Pools not just for liner installations, but for all of your pool needs - You'll be in good hands!
Angela Gregory: We now have a beautiful pool again thanks to Sun Fun Pools!!! They installed a new liner in our pool with new skimmer plates & jet plates and reshaped the drop off angle where our pool goes from shallow to deep. We also bought a new filter for our pool at the same time. We couldn’t be more pleased & impressed with the honesty, quality, affordability, and professionalism. The owner and all of the staff are awesome!!! We won’t go anywhere else for service or chemicals. Highly recommend!!!
Tom Shaw: We had them install a new liner for us. They were very professional and reasonably priced. We will be using them for all our pool needs in the future.
Sean McHugh: Anthony and team do a tremendous job of not only installing the pool, but also the different teams that do concrete, cover installation, etc. The speed of their work is incredible, but quality is not sacrificed. To build an in-ground pool is a big decision and can be a major disruption, but Sun-Fun Pools makes it seem easy and are very attentive to customer needs. I would highly recommend them to anyone thinking about building a pool.
Amanda Montgomery: Sun Fun Pools is amazing! Their staff, from owner to reception, are knowledgeable, helpful, and all go above and beyond for their customers. We have used other pool companies in the past and will only use Sun Fun now! I highly recommend them for any of your needs!
Cindy Javit: Bree is so helpful!!!
Jerrill Herring: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would always recommend.
Jennifer Hendershot: Sun Fun Pools has excellent service and excellent pricing. The staff are top notch and very responsive and prompt. We used to utilize pools of fun but now it’s Sun Fun Pools. Fair, Honest and reliable! Other pool companies try to up charge you on chemicals and pool equipment you don’t really need.
