Korea Taekwondo Academy Northwest: what do users think?
Mike Simpson: KTA Northwest is a family friendly Taekwondo dojang (school), lead by the knowledgeable and friendly, Grand-master Cottee. Most students are kids and teens, but there are several parents and their children who come to class together. Adult students are also welcome. All fitness levels are welcome, and each student simply does their best, improving at their own pace. There is no pressure to test for the next belt, and each student tests only when both student and Grand-master Cottee agree they are ready. There are several high ranking adults that help with classes to give students more opportunities for one on one and small group instruction.
LaShon Fincher: Under the instruction of Master Cottee and his wife, my son has blossomed! He’s learned so much in the areas of confidence, balance, and self-protection. Master Cottee has been consistent in his approach to reaching his students through constant encouragement, discipline and high-expectations; he pushes them to their full potential. Within a few years, my son achieved his black belt and whole lot more! He has an increased level of leadership, respect, humility, perseverance, self-control, and honesty. I’m thankful for the village we have in KTA-NW to reinforce positive values and life lessons.
Marcus Hatcher: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy son has had lessons here for the last two years. Master Cotte and his wife are professional, loving, and very skilled. We love the confidence and skill that my son is learning. The values of leadership, discipline, and hard work that we teach at home are also taught here. I would highly suggest KTANW!
Christina Enochs: Very nice, patient knowledgeable instructors. I highly recommend. Great for kiddo's and adults.
Matthew Tandy: I cannot say enough good things about KTA Northwest. Master Cottee is an amazingly talented instructor. He not only takes the time to teach two classes almost every day, but he frequently stays after class to give individual instructions if requested. Master Cottee also practices what he teaches. He has competed in several national and international level competitions and has worked to earn his SEVENTH DEGREE BLACK BELT. His years of experience and teaching show in his level of expertise. Master Cottee's wife is also an instructor at the school. She is patient and caring. This is a great family environment. My son and I have been taking classes at KTA for years. It is a great activity for parents and kids to do together. If you are reading this review it is likely you are considering going to KTA Northwest. You should!
David Thomas: My family has been training with Master Cottee for 12+ years. My oldest daughter went off to college with a third degree black belt. She has since graduated and moved to a new city and is searching for a new taekwondo school. She is having a hard time finding a school with the same devotion to the sport and teaching the kids that she found at KTANW. My son and second daughter both trained through their second Dan before heading off to college. My youngest is still in high school and working with me on our third Dan. It's has been a lot of fun to learn and train with my kids. KTANW has been a huge part of our family and I would highly recommend them to both families and individuals looking for a positive training experience.
Sunny Reed: I'm pretty shocked to see anyone give this man a 5-star rating. I purchased his "Groupon" way back in May, called and left a voicemail for a call back because his "office hours" are pretty inconvenient for a working, busy mom. It seems he only has office hours when conducting class, which wouldn't be ideal for me to learn about the programs and have my questions answered, so I thought sure I'd receive a call back. Of course, the call never came and my daughter has since been recruited for another activity that places an additional strain on our schedule. It's been so long that I forgot about the Groupon until I received a reminder. Knowing that I couldn't fit this into our schedule and I have no desire to do business with someone who can't return a phone call, Groupon informed me the merchant is responsible for refunding at this point. This "man" became irate and belligerent in front of his class full of children! Stating that I should've called more and stopped during his business hours until I caught him there. I honestly thought businesses ran differently, where THE BUSINESS does the footwork to bring in customers...not vice-versa. I mentioned my disbelief that he's teaching children honor and discipline, but behaves as he does. He yelled at me the entire time, telling me to get out because he wouldn't want to deal with me anyhow. Quite, the contrary, I would not want my daughter to be under the instruction of a "man" who does not respect women and who is unable to resolve conflict amicably. I've filed a complaint with Groupon and am prepared to contact my attorney if necessary; merely because this "man" needs to know the manner in which he handled this is UNACCEPTABLE AND HE SET AN EXTREMELY POOR EXAMPLE FOR EVERY CHILD IN THE STUDIO TONIGHT!
Rachelle Swan: Our two kids have been coming to KTA for about three years now. I can't tell you how much they've learned about themselves through self-discipline and courage, and how much they've grown in confidence through excellent teaching coupled with loving support by Master and Mrs. Cottee. There have been times when my kids have wanted to quit, and one time my son did. But what drew him back was the special relationship between him and Master Cottee. Positive affirmation from a caring adult in a child's life is priceless. And with KTA, my kids get this with the side-benefit of working hard in a challenging sport.
Marsha R: Both of my boys started Taekwondo at this school June 2015 - they have gained more than martial arts skills. Martial arts teach you discipline, to be respectful, hard working, and more responsible individuals. Before we started going here my youngest had several issues with authority and getting in trouble at school (he struggles with ADHD) - I believe his instruction with Master Cottee has vastly improved his behavior in several areas in life.I have also taken lessons here and worked on learning the style myself. Master Cottee has always be respectful to me and pushed me in my instruction to work on improving the areas I struggle in!If you are contemplating taking up this style of Martial arts this school will teach you the things you need to know to earn your belt as well as challenge yourself to grow in perfecting your practice.I would highly recommend this instructor and this school to help your children or yourself personally learn Korean Taekwondo.

Grandmaster Lee's TaekwonDo: what do users think?
Kathryn Thompson: Masters Jung and Choi do such a wonderful job! We have been completely satisfied with how they encourage the kids to try their hardest and respect others, along with the world class TaekwonDo they are teaching. I can’t say enough about the positive experience we’ve had there!
Kevan Elliott: Great environment, my daughter likes going here. They keep it fun and you can tell they still take it serious about teaching them too - perfect combo.
Prabhakar Chintalapati: The triners are very well experienced and their first priority is kids safety. One of the best place for Taekwondo training.
Gabrielle Hendryx-Parker: Very fun classes with highly trained and patient instructors.
Vinay Krishna: Body and Mind, this is the focus at GM Lee's Takewando. Both my kids are enrolled here, this is one class which my kids look forward to participate. The Masters running this school in Carmel are very sweet with the kids. Make no mistake they are great task masters, they know how to discipline the students.GM Lee's takewando enables the students to improve focus, respect, enthusiasm, perseverance, consistency, leadership. They help a child become a better student at school, a better brother or sister, son or daughter at home and overall a better person. The course is very structured, starting with a white belt and going all the way to Black belt. The belt progression is achieved through belt exams. During this journey the kids learn self defense mechanisms using their hands/legs.The classes are grouped based on the belt one is at. GM Lee's takewando has special package for families as well.I highly recommend every parent to give a thought about enrolling their kids here. It's fun, exercise and learning all in one package.
Tammi Scozzaro: The Masters are phenomenal with little kids, school age children, teens, and adults. They have a great teaching style and are always so positive. They have the right balance of commanding respect and keeping their students motivated to learn and achieve. They have won trophies and gold medals for best taekwondo school, best demo team, and in different age categories for forms, breaking, and weapons in an out of state competition. They always encourage their students to be the best they can be. Take a free class and see for yourself! I highly recommend them!
Michael Tosh year: Such a great experience for our sons. Instructors are very kind and patient. 18 months we have been attending and have been very happy!
Bryan Harrison: They are great with the students, no matter the age.
R Y: Grandmaster Lee is an amazing martial artist and instructor. I had the privilege of taking a Poomsae seminar that he taught, along with his student, Princeton, who has won gold medals in Poomsae forms in national and international taekwondo championships. Grandmaster Lee is not only a taekwondo instructor, but a hwarangdo master. His martial arts abilities are amazing. It would be difficult to find this kind of instructor even in S. Korea. I hope he is appreciated! If I ever move to that area, I'm going to attend Grandmaster Lee's school.

Eric johnson: Super friendly and family oriented place. My grandson loves going.
Buki: A few things we wanted:1. A personalized approach to teaching the kids2. Focus on confidence building skills3. As many class options as possible4. Small class group sizes5. Affordable6. NO CONTRACT!We got it all at The Way! We'd been searching for over 3 months and this is the first place that checked all our boxes. We're exhausted from searching but SOOO excited we found them and they've saved us from the endless search!
Christian Tinsley: Love it
Carolina Becerra: My 6 year old daughter has been going here for the past 30 days and the experience has been great. The instructors are fantastic and the facility is great. A very welcoming environment that I would recommend to anyone looking to gain self defense skills and confidence while having fun!
Aaron Schweizer: My son 6 joined because he was interested in an extra curricular. He's excited for every class. The classes are great and plenty of instructors are on hand to assist.
Bill Robinson: The Way Martial Arts has excellent instructors that care about developing martial artists and more importantly, outstanding people. Everyone is welcomed and our diverse family makes us stronger!
Stacy Laminger: We’ve been searching for an extra curricular for our daughter. Going in we weren’t sure what she would think. She absolutely LOVES it. The instructors keep it fun while the kids are learning what they need to succeed in class. My husband and i have just as much fun watching her learn and grow confidence.
Adult Only: Tried to get information about my son starting and different options available. The lady that called me asked a lot of intrusive questions about my son after I told her he was disabled. I was then told I would get a call back... its been about 3 weeks. No other comments.
A Word: 3 months ago I decided to enroll my 8yr old son in karate. He really loves it and has graduated from white to yellow belt. I am so proud of him and everything that has been taught to him. Special thanks to the Martial Arts Team. Instructors are very great and professional. Excited to see what this year brings for him. I definitely recommend this school!!
Jennifer Allen: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueLove love love this school! My son is a student here, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Instructors are great, students are great, atmosphere is great. Highly recommend!
Eryn Morrow: My 4-year-old was terrified to go. It took him three times of watching before he went on the mat. The instructors’ patient, yet firm, guidance finally got him out there. I’m so glad that they did. Less than 2 months later and he says, “I love kwi kwon go even more than you” as we leave the studio. They help teach focus, agility, and confidence for our little leaders
Laura Shellhorn: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality
Dillon Crossgrove: Positive:Quality,ValueFamily atmosphere, high quality teaching.
Joesph Hoffman: Positive:Communication
Lauren Gilliam: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Shannon Fells: They're teaching everyday skills as well as the self defense aspect. This is a great facility with knowledgeable, caring staff.
Jaclyn Rich: Mr. Brown and so many of the other instructors have been an integral part of helping my children to grow and develop great character over the last 6 years. They have the abilities of a martial artist (3rd degree and 2nd degree black belts) but the character is even more important. My oldest is now employed here and she loves the leadership aspects but also to be able to give back what has been given to her. We love The Way!
Sara Klein: We have been at The Way Martial Arts for just over 6 months. Watching my son grow in his confidence, listening skills and overall maturity has been a pleasure. We love the instructors - they each have their own way of dealing with the kids and are FANTASTIC to watch. Mr. Brown has created a space where I feel comfortable letting my son explore who he wants to become as a person - Strength, Respect and Leadership!
Stina Pope: This is a great school with classes for ages 4yrs thru adult. Very family friendly environment!

Grandmaster Park's Chung Do Kwan Taekwondo: what do users think?
Bess Wuertz: My partner has attended the school for many years and has greatly enjoyed the experience. It can be difficult to find activities in adulthood that are welcoming and can provide the right level of challenge, all while respecting the unique needs of adult participants. My partner has a genetic condition that can cause pain and limit movement, yet he has felt consistently encouraged with a path of advanced suited to him. It's been a joy to see his progress. I appreciate how caring and supportive the staff has been. I'm grateful for all the opportunities he's had to grow in many aspects, as both a student and teacher.I highly recommend this school to anyone who is looking for a supportive environment to grow in.
Zach Williams: Great for teaching my kids discipline, skills, and structure. Highly recommended!
Justin Lyon: I've been at this school for over 6 years now. It's the best place in Indy to learn traditional Taekwondo. No other school teaches as many of the original forms, because not many other teachers have experience with so many of the original forms. This is a great place for a child to start in Taekwondo. I've worked with many kids. Some learn fast, and some take much longer, but the ones who stick with it always get better. I've been impressed by some of the kids who did not understand at first, but went on to become quite skilled.I personally had done Taekwondo at a few other schools before coming here. It's always tough adjusting to a new school, but I felt very welcomed, and learned a lot of Taekwondo skills I had never seen at the other schools.
A Yard: My teenager has been a student of Grandmaster Park for nearly 13 years. Through GM Park’s mentorship my son has grown stronger, more confident, and more mature socially and emotionally. Additionally, GM Park’s strict, deliberate, and considerate approach in his teaching has instilled a great sense of self esteem and respect for others, as well as an appreciation for the value of academic excellence. The pivotal moment for my teenager was when he truly earned his 1st-degree black belt and was officially invited to attend the black belt class on Saturday mornings. Ten years later, he is almost a 4th-degree black belt! If one is serious about studying the true art of taekwondo, then GM Park’s Chung Do Kwan TKD is the school that is highly recommended!
Eugene Ceppa: My family's experience with Grand Master Park has been exactly what I had hoped for in my children's and personal development. I enrolled my three children in the Fall of 2019 to teach them how to be focused and disciplined in mind and body. As I observed the progress my children made in the majesty of Tae Kwon Do, I felt these same principles offered something that I too was missing in my adult life. Thus, I joined in the Fall of 2020 and have not looked back. I have greatly appreciated the camaraderie as well as the challenge provided by Grand Master Park and Master Perry as well as the many excellent other advanced students who have graciously given their time to train both myself and my children. The education provided is both tough and fair. The loyalty that I see from day to day in this environment Grand Master Park has cultivated over many decades is awe-inspiring.
April Hensley: I have been a student at Grand Master Park's Chung Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do and although I began training as a woman a little later in life. And although I was a little anxious about how I might be able to interact and train with the differing ages and skills - GM Park and his team were able to help me learn and grow safely and carefully even though I was anxious! In the long run, all of the training I have been offered has allowed me to grow in confidence and strength as a person and as a whole has had a terrific lingering effect on my life! I am always proud that I can say with confidence that I hold a probationary Black Belt, and that some day I will hopefully be able to progress to a full-blown Black Belt!Grand Master Park and his team truly care about the students across the board, and no matter what the situation - they work diligently to be conscientious of all of the students! While GM Park and team are so careful of everyone's safety, they are also caring enough to offer alternative options when/if needed (especially for adults, since sometimes an adult's schedule can become complicated). It only makes sense - that GM Park must be conscientious of all of his students - so, when he offers support and/or advice or proposes changes to alternatives offered - as a student we must respect his decisions because he has many people to care for.I would highly recommend training with GM Park and his team, no matter what age, gender or skill level! Each person can and will have an opportunity to learn and grow with strength of mind and body!
Sedita Whited: I earned my black belt under GM Park in 2000 after being referred to him by other trusted instructors. I find GM Park to run a disciplined, fair, and safe martial arts school. I highly recommend his school to anyone looking for a well disciplined martial arts school in which to train. You will be guided, taught and nurtured. I am currently continuing my training under GM Park.
Suma Katorgi: I decided to write an honest review of this school as a brown belt female young adult who’s passionate about taekwondo and signed up to learn and make the most of taekwondo as a hobby. I made great friends and mentors in this school, which is why I didn’t leave this review at only one star. However, with time I learned that if you’re a female young adult - this is NOT the school for you. You will be judged for being friendly with your peers, and questioned of your morals. Grandmaster Park supported me dearly to an extent and helped me move up the ranks as I truly did my best to earn and deserve them. But suddenly, after being questioned for just enjoying advanced and challenging classes with some of my peers, I was uninvited to the advanced classes (that I used to attend when I was even still a green belt as per his permission), and unwelcome because he had to “protect his school”. I was given the option to only attend less advanced classes during the week to avoid the peers and mentors I made friends with and whom I learned from the most (which I didn’t mind doing until I had to take a more demanding job and unfortunately couldn’t align my schedule with). In short, as a female adult I seem to be a threat to his school. This is the untold truth about this business and you should look elsewhere if you’re like me and really wanting to learn and practice taekwondo in a fair environment with people who will challenge and respect you. Feel free to reach out to me if you would like to know more details, my Instagram username is sumakatorgi.
John Head: This school stands alone in my review of martial arts studios and instructors in Indianapolis, especially for children as they learn respect, discipline, self confidence and means to focus.I have two black belts and have been in trucker myself for a decade since over 25 years in martial arts and when traveling and visiting my friends in Indiana they asked me if I could find a class for their children I found the school and they are very pleased with the results and their children. It is taught by a Grandmaster who I highly recommend to teach as they have such a depth of knowledge it is hard to find in many schools. He teaches how to be a better person not a bully like some schools do.This is validated by the positive changes in their children that they have shared with me.
Brad Lamb: Master Park and his school is the best experience I had in my life and now have my kids in. When I was younger it taught me about discipline and self achievement. It gave me something to work towards that was all on me and that I achieved or failed based on my efforts and desire. That desire and discipline has helped me in my life as a Husband, Father, and School Teacher. My kids have been in TaeKwanDo with Master Park for over a year now and it has been amazing. My daughter has learned self-confidence and strength and it has also helped her physically. My son at 5 now has learned that the discipline is important and the skills learned in Focusing have helped him in school and at home.If you want a place that can make a difference in your life or the life of your kid, THIS is the place. I have not seen another school that is willing to teach with the grit and tough love that is needed and has been lost in our society.Thank you to Master Park and his other instructors for all they have done for my family. I am truly a better person and can see my kids becoming better people themselves even at a young age!
Tori Michel: My son has attended Grandmaster Park's school for over a year and he loves it. He advanced quickly, improved his coordination, and increased his confidence. Grandmaster and all the staff are welcoming, friendly, and caring. They encourage my son so much and he loves going to class!
Greg Shamblin: The instructors here are great with the students. Great for teenagers. It helps them with discipline and teaches the benefits of hard work.
Brian Hendrickson: Grandmaster Park is a tremendous teacher who places a focus on the development of the whole person, not just tae kwon do skill. This means placing primary importance on self-discipline, respect and attention. I love that they start each class by saying the focus is not on beating their opponent, but on the perfection of each individual student. My 9-year-old daughter has seen tremendous growth in her tae kwon do skills under Grandmaster Park, but more importantly, she has gained confidence, learned to show her opponents respect, and to show her instructors respect by being on time and paying attention during her class. Those skills will stay with her even if she eventually decides to stop tae kwon do -- which we hope will be a long time from now.
Alexander Esche: Grandmaster Park provides an excellent school. I really like how we spar every class; the instructors give clear suggestions and my improvement has been obvious over the past several months. The classes are also a great workout; I usually leave dripping in sweat!
Sachin Mehta: Our 5-year-old son has been training with Grandmaster Park for 1 year. We have seen great progress and are signing our daughter up when she is old enough. We are impressed with the comprehensive focus of their training methods. The Masters address flexibility, self-defense, form, safety, and character-building. Grandmaster Park and his staff are vested in each child's success and growth. They spend individualized time with the kids and will adjust their approach to each participant's learning style.
Suzannah Sorg: We have had two children successfully earn their black belts here, and now our third child is old enough to take Taekwondo from Grandmaster Park. His school is the real deal. Our child is learning with traditional methods -- including discipline, respect, and self-control. These attributes have come in handy, not only in Taekwondo class, but also in school and at home. In addition to getting great exercise, he is improving his coordination and focus through these classes. Not to mention self-defense. Master Park has always been very respectful towards us parents as well. He runs his school and his classes very conscientiously in the traditional Taekwondo format in order to deliver top-notch instruction to each student. Just one of the many reasons why our family highly recommends Grandmaster Park's school!
Nestor Lopez: I have 2 siblings in Grand Master Park TWD and I I'm glad to say it was the best decision we could have made. My brothers have learn how to communicate with each other and stay focus on what they need to do and most importantly discipline. My son is 2 years old and I'm waiting for him to grow up just a little more so I can start him off at a young age and who better than Grand Master Park. I'm sure my son will grow up and use the skills he learns here out into his future, just like my brothers are. I recommend this to anyone that wants something good for theirs kids.
April Bruick: My daughter has been attending this school for almost 4 months and we have seen incredible growth. She had previously attended another popular Tae Kwon Do school and has learned more at Grand Master Park's in one month than she had in four months at the previous school! Grand Master Park's Tae Kwon Do has small class sizes, full hour classes, and many qualified masters helping out each class.
john s: My boys and I have been TKD students of Grand Master Park and his Master Instructors for a few years. We love the authentic traditional teachings. This is not a belt factory. All students are required to know the forms and be able to execute the kicks and movements appropriate to one's age and skill level. All the instructors are patient and long time students of GM Park and the art of Tae Kwon Do. We will continue to practice at Chung Do Kwan TKD for as long as the school is there....
Jason Sorg: My daughter has been in TKD here for a couple of months now. She is 6 years old. We weren't sure how she would do but it has been fantastic. She loves it. She goes twice a week and cannot wait to go to her sessions- in fact, she talks all weekend about how she can't wait for Tae Kwon Do on Monday. I have already seen it boosting her self confidence and coordination. I would very highly recommend GM Park Tae Kwon Do for you and/or your children! We will no doubt be putting our other children in TKD here as soon as they are old enough.
Elizabeth C: Master Park did wonders to help discipline my children. Not only did they become well-behaved at home, but they just seemed more focused on whatever they were doing. I believe that tae kwon do even helped their grades in school to improve! I'd recommend this school to anyone.

Choi Martial Arts Academy LLC: what do users think?
Stacy B: We have been taking our kids here for 2 years. Choi Martial Arts is a fantastic place to take your kids to learn Tae Kwon Do. The program helps kids build confidence and see how hard work pays off. The instructors are professional, friendly, and so patient with the kids. They work hard to help the kids grow and improve their skills.. This program is absolutely the best you will find around Indianapolis!
Mary Jane Gordon: Very knowledgeable teacher from Korea. Our son learned a lot of good techniques on how to kick . 40mins drive to studio from where we live but it’s worth. Highly recommended.
Autumn King: Instructors are amazing and so patient. My 7 year old LOVES this place. It’s a family owned company so who you start with with be the same people your child will continue to learn with. I will be starting my youngest son as soon as he turns 4. I highly recommend 100/10
Kellie Rae: My family and I love Choi martial arts academy. They really care about the kids and take the time to teach them. My kids are always excited to go . I also love how they have really boosted my daughters confidence.
Prateek Sharma: I cannot say enough great things about Choi Master Arts Academy. My daughter and her friends have been practicing taekwondo here for several months now, and the experience has been truly amazing. The instructors go above and beyond to make sure that each student receives personalized attention and guidance. The facility itself is top-notch, with state-of-the-art equipment and plenty of space for students to practice and learn. And the atmosphere is always positive and welcoming, with a strong sense of community and camaraderie among all the students and staff.I highly recommend this martial arts academy to anyone looking for a top-notch training experience. Five stars!
Bill Amber: My son goes here and absolutely loves it. The nasters are amazing and really care about the students.
chris privett: Wonderful program, wonderful instructors ,
Scarlett Jones: Excellent people and teachers. Comfortable environment and a lot to learn!!
Kate Denesuk: I cannot say enough great things about Choi Martial Arts! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed with the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Master Choi, Master An, and Mister Choi (the instructors) are knowledgeable, patient, and dedicated to helping each student (whether child, teen, or adult) reach their full potential. They have a great balance of challenging everybody to improve while also ensuring fun and enjoyment. The facilities are clean and well-maintained with plenty of space to train. My child (now 6) started when he was 5, and I've seen so much growth and improvement in him (and he's quite timid and shy, so this was pretty amazing). They also have after school care and school break programs; my son attended the spring camp and will return for the summer camp because he had such a great time.I would highly recommend Choi Martial Arts for anyone looking to start their martial arts journey, for anyone looking to continue their martial arts journey, or for anyone who just wants to enjoy the art of tae kwon do.
Dianna Woodling: Amazing program! My son has gained so much confidence and is thrilled to come to class.
Lucia Hernandez: en esta academia mi ija a aprendido mucho y los maestros son muy buenosmaes le doy las grasias sellos mi ija se sabe defender👍👍👍
Sailor Traub: Our family loves this place. They run their business very efficiently and are great with all ages.We have a four year old who has really done well and a seven year old who really enjoys improving his skills. Master David is very kind and patient and is full of positivity that he spreads to the kids every chance he can. Master An is an amazing teacher and does great with our four year old. It’s been a great experience and we will keep coming back.Thank you!
Destiny's Symphony: My daughter has loved attending Choi martial arts. They are professional, caring and compassionate about what they teach here. And all the kids seem to have a great time learning martial arts. 100% recommend.
Brad Combs: This review and the ones before it tell the story. The Choi family are very special and our kids love them dearly. As so many others have mentioned, it is a family affair and they spend a great deal of effort to help develop the kid as well as the student.Safety is preached throughout and especially with sparring. Frankly, this is incredibly reassuring to some of the more timid kids like our daughter who needed the constant reassurance to break out of her shell. Everything is done with positive reinforcement and acknowledgement for efforts and accomplishments.Everything they do during training has an element of fun with opportunities for recognition of efforts and accomplishments for each kid. Your kid WILL get noticed and publicly complimented. By the end of training, you will swear each kid has grown an inch or two.We simply could not imagine a better place, environment or teachers for our kids to learn from.

My daughter's self-esteem has grown in a positive direction and we've made friends along the way. This has been a great adventure for our family and we are looking forward to how our journey plays out as a student with Choi Martial Arts Academy. You can guarantee the master's are attentive to their students and share a deep respect for the art. You will learn. You will work hard. You will fall but they will be there to lend a hand every step of the way.

Oriental Martial Arts College of Indiana - North: what do users think?
Addie Robinson: Very good Korean martial arts school. The best Grandmaster Choi is excellent with the students and wants them to be the best inside as well as our. He really wants the students to grow and become better than they were.
Joshua Fielder: After several weeks of taking Taekwondo lessons, I'm convinced that this school is right for my son (4) and me (30). Grand Master Choi and his assistant black belts are great at teaching self-defense and making sure you apply the principles you learn in Taekwondo to both class and everyday life. OMAC offers Kung Fu lessons as well as Taekwondo. I highly recommend this school.
Jason Duvall: The feeling you get from this place is one of love and dedication. I really appreciate what Grand Master Choi and the other instructors do as far as being patient and taking one on one time with each student. They make sure each student fully understand each technique while nurturing the love for and teaching the core values of martial arts and life.
Swirl: my son is about to turn 5 and he loves going to training. They will work with ur child even if there is a large group.

Geist Martial Arts: what do users think?
Linda West: Love Geist Karate. My granddaughter loves going. The instructors are great and student to instructor ratio is great. Have recommended them and will continue to recommend them.
Christina Marsh: Great place for kids to learn martial arts.
Donald Eldridge: We have been coming here for a few years now. Mr. Byrd and the staff are amazing with kids. He remembers each child's name very quickly which make them feel special. They have a great way of connecting with the kids and helping them build confidence. The schedule is set as you can find a day/s that work with your schedule with being a realtor my schedule is all over the place but i can still get my son in a few times a week.
Scott Lantz: Great place! Amazing experience for both kids and adults!
Robert Hixson: Our kids have gone here for over a year and they still love it. The owners (Byrds) are great with kids. The instructors are forever students showing an incredible path for you or your kids to take as well.
Terry Siegel: Affordable, no contracts, great teachers and the owners are the best! My grandson loves it!
Karen Murphy: The owners, staff, and atmosphere are excellent! Our granddaughter moved to New Castle & we still pick her up so she can make it to at least 2-3 classes a week! She LOVES it!!
William: I highly recommend Geist Martial Arts. If you are looking for a family friendly and positive environment this is the place to be. It has become an activity that our whole family is now a part of. Mr. and Mrs. Byrd bring structure and laughter to their training techniques which is an absolute joy to be a part of. Most importantly our kids have learned and are continuing to learn important life lessons that they will carry all their life.
Martha Her: Our 4yr old just loves coming to karate here. The staff is very patient and understanding with all ages. There’s activities and new words they can learn and use in everyday use. Such a great way to burn energy AND learn core manners at the same time! Our 2nd child will certainly go here once he is of age too!
Camille Cook: Both of my daughters attend Geist Martial Arts. I highly recommend. They have great instructors that are patient and creative with keeping the class fun and also educational.
Casey Fox: We recently moved to the area and our daughter expressed interest in trying Martial Arts. We read the amazing reviews for Geist Martial Arts and decided to give them a try. Our daughter has anxiety and was extremely nervous, however the amazing staff (especially Ms. Rosenthal and the Byrd’s) quickly made her laugh and put her at ease. It quickly became her favorite activity. If your child has anxiety, is shy, nervous, or just needs some self-confidence do not hesitate. They are amazing and will absolutely bring out the best in your child. We’ve witnessed it with our daughter.
Lindsay Ehrgott: Absolutely love Geist Martial Arts! We pass several other martial arts locations to bring our son here. All of the instructors do an amazing job of keeping the kids focused and make sure they are actively participating. My son has been going here for almost a year and ALWAYS looks forward to going to class and loves to practice what he learns at home. There is no contract, they're affordable, very patient with the students, and the classes are very active and fun! Highly recommend this place!
Shelby Kissick: In the 6 months that I have attended, every person I have encountered has been so kind, patient, and generous. They seem to have found the perfect balance between teaching lots of practical skills while also maintaining a slightly more relaxed atmosphere. Would highly recommend to anyone!
Crista Neeson: The best thing about this place is the owners and staff!!! My kids love taking classes here and have learned so much!
Jennifer Sheets: My son has been a student here since early 2018. We value his experience here. He has received wonderful, knowledgeable instruction in taekwondo that has translated to everyday life. If you are looking for a martial arts studio, I would highly recommend Geist Martial Arts!
Frances Evans: Let's start off with saying my kids love Mr. Byrd and all the instructors. Mr. Byrd adds a little humor into his teachings, keeping the kids engaged. He also teaches them about having self control, determination when it gets hard, and other lessons that matter in their daily lives..all while providing them with skills in self defense and confidence. Another benefit is they don't make you sign a contract, gracious with payment times when needed and they are flexible with class times (we are a very busy family and they have allowed us to attend a different class level when needed since the times worked better for us). I also love that they genuinely like to give back to the community. I wish all businesses ran the way they do. I could go on, but come find out for yourselves.
Jake M: Couldn’t be happier with what I see day in and day out at Geist Martial Arts. My 6 year old joined about two years ago and the transformation I have seen is incredible.GMA not only teaches a martial art, but teaches great life skills for the students, which are continuously reinforced each class. The staff are all friendly, patient, and helpful. Mr. Byrd is a wizard with the kids and both parents and students enjoy his unique personality and ways to lighten up the class. If you haven’t signed up yet, go for it.5/5
Lauren George: Amazing program and staff. So fortunate to have them in our children’s lives.
Brittney Sundheimer: We absolutely loved our time at Geist martial arts. The instructors are great with kids and the pricing was so affordable for our single income family.
Kirsten Robbins: My child absolutely loves this karate studio. They really make learning fun. I also appreciate that they teach my child important lessons about working hard, being kind, and being a good sport. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Tiffany Gaidoo: Absolutely amazing business, amazing instructors, and amazing atmosphere. Finding Geist Martial has been a true blessing for our family.

United Kempo Karate Schools: what do users think?
Jennifer Adams Franklin: My oldest has been in training for at least 4 years now. My youngest about 2.5 years. We choose karate to teach them discipline, respect, self confidence and self defense. We tell them “you’re only in competition with yourself.” It has been an amazing journey. The teachers are very effective, kind and highly proficient at their craft. We were spending so much time there, that after 4 years we decided to take the adult katate class. How fun is that? We really enjoy it! Same effect on adult as on children. Respect, self discipline and a serious confidence boost. My goal is a black belt of some level. 😄 My kids are in it for the long haul. I HIGHLY suggest it for all ages, but especially for children and teenagers. It’s like a 2nd home, with a family that really cares about your physical and mental well being.
Jennifer LaPrees: Excellent instructors. They teach discipline and self control along with karate skills. They care about the students enough to encourage them to do thier best.
Mark King: Grandmaster Mattocks heads up a program which is top notch on all levels.LeadershipInstructionPatienceAffordabilityAccountabilityAdjustments in specific training toward each studentThe curriculum here @ UKKS is fantastic and there are several classes for varied interests.Mr. Alex and Mr. Terry are knowledgeable and very proficient in their respective crafts and both are EXCELLENT instructors; the sense of family and comradery are also very apparent in being a student here.If you are striving toward becoming someone greater (on every level of life), enroll and surround yourself with a group who are all doing the same thing.
Rod Edwards: I'm an older man and newer student. Couldn't be happier. Grandmaster Mattocks is an excellent instructor. His staff are not only competent, but motivating. It's time and money well spent. I'm learning and having fun at the same time.
Roger Gorbett: There is no way to express my gratitude to United kempo karate schools for the help and influence they have had on my 12 and 6 year old boys. My six-year-old mother passed away unexpectedly 3 years ago and left him where he would not speak to any adults. Since they have signed up for the classes I have had three teachers pulled me to the side and could not believe how much of a turnaround he is made. They have some of the greatest instructors I've ever seen and they teach discipline and respect the same time the kids are having fun and loving being there I appreciate everything they do and I'm so grateful that there are still people in the world that care this much about children.
Mike Jr.: Great school. Been here 4 months, shedded some pounds, and learned lots of great things. A great family environment. Glad to call UKK my second home.
LB Swafford: This is a great place, Talented instructors, they are very good with children all the way to adult, from beginner to advanced and everything in between ,anything and everything you would need to know, I m glad to be apart of this school
Terry Davis: This is a great school and hidden gem. The atmosphere is that of a family and I am glad to be a part of it.
Kristopher Moeller: If you are looking for a family environment and great training, look no further than United Kempo Karate Schools. Grandmaster Mattocks and Alex Mattocks take pride in every student they have and make it a point to ensure everyone is getting the most out of their training. The variety of classes they offer can fit the need of any person that is looking to get into the Martial Arts. If you want the best in central Indiana I encourage you to stop by United Kempo Karate Schools. I promise you will not be disappointed.
Lori Burris: I love this school. My son Meliek Wright has been going since September, and its a big family. Thank you for everything you do Mr. M for my son.
Leeann Ramirez: I really enjoy being at the school with my family. It is a great place to learn and my kids are dong better at home and school. Mr. Alex and Master Mattocks care about their students and make sure they are learning correctly.

Indianapolis Martial Arts Academy: what do users think?
Andrew Hughes: IMAA has been a great place for me and my kids to study the art of Taekwondo together. Master Benjamin and the other instructors are in it for all the right reasons. Glad to have a resource like this right here in Pike Township!
D. Frank Adams: Master Benjamin and Instructors Flight, Spurlock and Rankin have worked my daughter for about 6 months. This dynamic team has taken a child that was unsure and unfocused and has began a transformation that is amazing. The great part is that ALL students are treated this way! From confidence building to establishing respect for all, this school applies these concepts into all who enter the door.
