Holcomb Gardens: what do users think?
Mely Cooks: This park is one of my favorite places. The Philosopher's Corner is a limestone Octagon of Truth & Freedom with carved quotes by great thinkers like Plato, Rousseau, Aristotle and Jesus who said, "The Truth shall set you free." The gardens offer seemingly hundreds of giant mature lilac bushes that smell like heaven in May. My only complaint is that there is often litter in the wooded areas which is true of all public spaces in democrat controlled cities and universities. It's a respect issue that degrades the park. I have personally gone to that park and done the cleanup and trummed back the neglected overgrowth in the philosophers corner. A student group renovated Persephone's Fountsin and painted it a garish bright swimming pool blue color, so It's now hideous.
Allison VonIns: I'm an Indianapolis wedding + engagement photographer & absolutely love to recommend Holcomb Gardens to my clients. It is such a hidden jem in the Indy area and has such beautiful grounds to take photos on. I'm frequently shooting here because it is so gorgeous!
T'Jay Jefferson: Early morning walks & bird/squirrel watching is the best here!
Nancy Smith: Lovely days of fall, Holcomb Garden.
Tracy Morris: Took some Family pictures there. Very nice.
Jose Avila: Either we miss the place or we have no idea why people like it so much.
Kim: Lovely place we did family pictures and pictures of my niece and her date for her homecoming
Fany Euceda: Relajante
Audrey Post-Bruce: Beautiful grounds on a summer day for some photos with our new puppy ☀️
Marti Ryan: The gardens are always beautiful clean and well manicured.
kelsi wagner: I love walking around Holcomb gardens. The bell tower rings every hour. There is a nice koi pond as well.Playground: No Public restrooms: No Off-leash dog area: No Picnic tables: No Barbecue grills: No …More
James Drake: Pretty place. Nice stop on a casual bike ride.
Phil Criswell: Holcomb gardens has been a favorite haunt of mine since attending Butler in the early 90s. I was really saddened and disappointed that all of the perennial beds have been removed except for the trees and long rows of clipped hedges. Butler can afford extensive remodels teardowns and new buildings, but can't afford to keep a staff to attend the once beautiful perennial beds?
Camille Graves: I've been coming here since I was a small child, and with a few recent exceptions, it really hasn't changed much since then. It's a small but idyllic little space in the heart of Indy, perfect for a picnic or resting/reading in the grass. The campanile and pond are added treasures. It also is an easy access to the Canal Towpath, with Newfields about a mile's walk to the south and Broad Ripple a few miles north. My only wish is that it were bigger and had more trees (but that can't really be helped).
Alex Alexides: Always a home away from home, and always in my heart.
Tom Havill: I've enjoyed this lovely garden, managed by Butler University, for 40 years. Unfortunately they eliminated the perennial beds this past fall, and sowed grass over them. This much reduces the appeal of the gardens. Other solutions should have been sought.
Cynthia Tillman: The scenery was so beautiful my boyfriend took me because I like places like this and I was so amazed it's like a Hidden Gem in our city loved it
Barry Blum: I've been going there for over half a Century. My dad's a graduate. My dog loves being there for his walks more so than anywhere else we've been to.Very peaceful. Has great trails to follow for those with strong legs.It has helped me very much to get my leg back in shape after my full hip replacement and the three years I struggled with my hip and knee prior to the replacement. Still need more surgeries with my knee and spine. But Holcomb Gardens is great to help recuperate.
Bryan Walters: Gorgeous place. Pro tip bring food for the HUGE koy fish
Nina Campbell: Lovely to visit.
Lavon Simpson: Beautiful place for pictures and keeping the kids explore!

Dammann's Garden Company: what do users think?
Nick Gill: Very nice nursery that has been here as long as I can remember. They have a variety of plants, trees both indoor and outdoors. I buy mulch here in bulk. Also, nice selection of bird nests and watering holes. Staff here is always very helpful and friendly.
tony randall: Everything is coming alive .thanks spring.
paintertony tony: Very nice place and very helpful staff
Cathy Haynes: My first time here. I was in awe at all the things they have. Many beautiful plants and so much more
Maggie Danner: Amazing!! First time here, and I was very delighted to see the variety of plants. My mama, niece, and grand babies go there all the time, so I had to check out the hype of it. I can't wait to go back when they have more of their spring things in.
Dale Gwin: Dammann's is moderate to expensive in pricing. Under the saying, "you get what you pay for" the items I consider expensive are definitely worth it. If you're looking for unusual or uncommon plants Dammann's may have it that is definitely high quality and worth it to get a specific cultivar you may want for your Garden. This location is open year round now. Lots of houseplants, beautiful pottery, seeds, bird food supplies, and nearly everything needed for yards and gardens whether you knew it or not. Small house plants through large trees for the yard available. Perennials, trees, shrubs, annuals, garden plants, hanging baskets. Located about a block south of Thompson Road on the east side of Emerson. It can be easy to miss since the center actually sits off the road quite a bit but the entrance and sign are between two other businesses on either side. Definitely a quality business with high quality product.
Teri Martin: Beautiful and healthy plants. Everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Ryan Johnston Sr: They helped my wife with reviving a sentimental plant. They really went above and beyond. I also bought some plants there another time.It doesn't look very big driving by on Emerson. But once you stop, you can see that it is much larger than it looks.
Erica Brewster: My favorite place for plants and pottery! I recently got these plants and pots and I am absolutely obsessed with how this looks!
Alyson Hattabaugh: Love this place!
Sumaiyah Abdul-Hafiz: This was my first time going and the entire staff was very helpful, friendly, and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back. 😃
Madchameleon404: Bought three succulents and a pot and they put everything together for us under $25. Very friendly very helpful just ask questions cheaper than a lot of other places.
Home, sweet Home: I went to the speedway to gets some gas before my date and my car battery died on the spot, fortunate there was a kind stranger who jump my car but in the process I drop my phone in a unreachable spot in my engine. I went to the speedway, no help, I grab tree branches, too week to grab the my phone. I walk over to Dammanns and the worker were so kind and help me pick out some garden equipment that I can borrow. I was able to get my phone back and head to my date on time thanks to them!!!! Shoutout to the workers and their love towards anyone who they come across with!!!
Ariana Modi: This is the best nursery I've ever been to. They had a very large selection even in the winter. Kyle was amazing! Super kind and friendly. He is great with customers and clearly passionate about plants. He was very patient and informative without pushing sales. This was a great experience. I will definitely be coming back.
Christina Becker: Very helpful young man showed me right to the species of pine I was looking for. And assisted me with picking out another evergreen that would go nicely beside it.They also have a ton of Japanese maples (I have never seen so many in 1 place before).
Lonnie Perry: Very nice and well stocked garden center. The service and support always exceeds my expectations.
Tracy Vatne: Great selection and prices.
JT Stachler: My wife and I were looking for a desk plant for my birthday. Kyle was a fount of knowledge. He helped us pick the perfect plant and pot, then got our plant potted and sent us home with care instructions that gave this relative neophyte the confidence to give my new palm a happy home. We've always been impressed with the service and selection at Dammann's.
katmanning: Bought new air plants and cactus. Soil and stakes for my tomatoes. Love seeing all the plants and products they offer. Oh can't forget the bulk bird and squirrel food.
Kathryn Woodward: Excellent service and knowledgable staff. Cyle helped me choose six plants, offering his expert opinion and help as needed, pots for each. He was extremely pleasant and so very helpful. He even potted each of the plants in colorful pots that he helped me select; and went one more step by shining the leafs.
