Laurel Hall: what do users think?
Howard Graves: Nice , Elegant, I enjoyed my time There...
Sylva Zhang: Great corporate rental for retreats, special trainings, or meetups for remote workers. Just, y’know, spring for the chair cushions.
Esther Nabwire: Amazing venue with beautiful views!
amy Radwick: Our daughter got married there in October and it was such a beautiful event. Having the whole place to ourself was priceless.
Sir Caffeinated: Perfect
Ross Rainwater: Also HQ of my college fraternity. Visited as "seasoned" alumnus while departing Indy from national meeting. Stopped by on Sunday just to see exterior, was treated to informal tour which showed why this is a popular venue for weddings, etc.!
Josh Wagner: WOOHOO
BETH CAMPBELL: My husband and I went for a wedding reception there, and it was a beautiful building, the event was excellently put together. The details of the wood work and craftsmanship is stunning. The outside grounds was lovely as well. Everyone we came in contact with was very pleasant and welcoming.
Tech Minded: Beautiful building with great views all around the property. Lots of historical memorabilia inside with placards describing the features of the building.
Pushin Ink: Very beautiful
Peanut Smith: Very nice and quite area
Phil Mikos: Great place. Beautiful space that is perfect for your event/wedding large or small. The staff is amazing to work with!Update: Went back today for a photo shoot. Everything about this place is still awesome!
Hayley Moore: My favorite venue EVER, absolutely a jaw dropper!! The classiness this venue brings will alone make your wedding look like a million bucks!! I am praying I can photograph another wedding here because it took my breath away.
Jenni McKee: I am writing this review as a fellow vendor. I own The Foto Stand, a mobile photobooth company that services the Indianapolis area. We had the absolute pleasure of setting up at Laurel Hall and were blown away at the hospitality. Weddings are stressful for the venue and the vendors, everyone trying to do their very best. Vendors are often on their own, but not at Laurel Hall. They accommodated my attendants from the moment they arrived and I am so grateful. Thank you for being kind and for being attentive not only to your clients but to their vendors as well. We can't wait to set up here again!
Stan Hill: We just had our daughter's wedding at Laurel Hall and it was a wonderful experience. The venue is beautiful with many places for great photos. Loved the Christmas decor. The staff (Inga and Lyndsey) were very helpful before and during the event. Appreciated the help after the reception as well. Highly recommend if you have 150 guests or less!
No More: Liver Ever Die Never. Beautiful estate.
Joshua Minnich: A very wonderful place to do a photoshoot, I'd like to go back one day and maybe host some other cool things for it.
Evan Hendsbee: By far one of the coolest venues in Indiana. It was a lot of fun to film a wedding here.
Kris Barney: Beautiful venue for wedding or other gatherings.
Ryan Freyder: Nice place
Ropes: beautiful venue

CANAL 337: what do users think?
Erica Steward: Canal337 and the Thomas Caterers team were both absolutely wonderful the space is SO beautiful and the view of the canal is one of a kind. The team were on top of everything day of and dealt gracefully with my abundance of emails with questions in the months leading up to our wedding. I’m so sad that Canal337 is changing ownership but hopefully more people will get to get married in the beautiful space someday. PS Get the carrot soufflé!!!!
Linda Krontiris: What an absolutely perfect venue for a wedding! The charm of the historic venue, the delicious food and the exceptional staff made this the perfect choice. Special shout out to Ryan who was our concierge as we were closing down and gathering everything to leave. So many people have asked me who was the guy who helped them. He intuitively would just be there and his help was very appreciated.
Andrew French: Sad to hear it is closing a great historic space.
Mary Tirmenstein: Beautiful spot for a wedding.
Micheal Johnson: All my date go here with me because I have so many best spot
Erin Ellis: Beautiful
Chez jones: Nice
Kevin Watson: Wonderful experience
Corey Banks: Gr
JOSUE CASTRO: Muy útilEs mi mejor amigo confiable la app
Bretta Thompson: Beautiful venue! The staff is amazing and always goes above and beyond for couples. The view is beautiful of the canal and it’s located close to hotels and restaurants.Lots of options for events and weddings. Highly recommend.
Edith: The most and amazing place
Melissa Lewis: We had our wedding here in May 2022. The venue is stunning and that was what sold us on having our wedding here (booked March/April 2021). Venue itself gets a 5/5 rating, the service left something to be desired, 2.5/5 rating. The planning process was a bit rocky because we lived 2.5 hrs north. Our event designer was switched 3 months before our wedding as well. We knew things were going to be pricey but we had a hard time getting definite pricing on items which added some stress. Due to a snow storm our food tasting that was scheduled on a Wednesday was cancelled and rescheduled for that Saturday - my groom and myself are both working professionals and we arranged our schedule months in advance to attend the original tasting. Due to the new date we were not able to attend and was told to send someone in our place…. We were also given the option to select a different day to have a simplified tasting. For how much money we paid for food it would have been nice to have some input on the reschedule date or be able to taste the whole menu prior to our wedding day.Our day of coordinator, Jacinta, was amazing and I have nothing but good things to say about her. Overall our day was beautiful and all our other vendors were fantastic!Following our wedding we discovered that multiple gifts/cards were missing. The venue was not forthcoming with information and dragged their feet to get us answers. We asked for the video footage to be reviewed and we were told the results were “inconclusive”. This took about a week to get them to come to this “conclusion”. There was security present - we had to pay for it at the venues request - and we also had wedding insurance and yet thousands of dollars of gifts/cards was gone and the venue said “there was nothing they could do”. If you choose this venue make sure to secure all presents immediately after the ceremony. You never think something like this can happen until it happens to you. Let me tell you, it was not a happy way to start day 1 of our marriage and embarrassing to have to ask your guests about the gift they gave you.
Casey Peetz: Beautiful venue
Edgardo M. Vasquez, Jr (Eddie, Chaos): A wonderful place to walk or paddle the canal!
Amy Thompson-Wiseman: It was s lovely venue
Tiffany Decker: Has ducks and plenty of space and seats
Jerry Arnold: Loved the venue, staff was very attentive.
Heleine Van Dyke: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI would recommend Canal 377 to anyone who is looking for a venue. The staff for our event was patient, courteous, efficient, and professional. The food was delicious, and the wine was awesome! And finally, the space was absolutely beautiful.

The Sanctuary on Penn: what do users think?
Ryann B: I had the opportunity of photographing a wedding at The Sanctuary on Penn and I can't say enough positive things about my experience there. The staff that helped with the day were very personable and thorough. They turned the ceremony location around very quickly into the reception and it looked great! The whole vibe of the building is so beautiful and provides different spaces throughout to take portraits. I would recommend this space to any future brides!Side note: parking is a little scarce, but doable. I just paid a small fee to be conveniently next to the building. They have a small lot that can be used, it just happened to be full when I arrived.
Joshua Reyes: My husband and I cannot say enough positive things about The Sanctuary on Penn. When we were looking for an LGBT friendly venue in central Indiana, this place caught our eyes, and we could not be happier. The space is gorgeous with unique features that make it stand out among other wedding venues in Indy. The team is awesome, responsive, and very attentive to the needs and wants of the couples. The in-house contractors (DJ Don Masters, Heavenly Sweets, Sterling Expressions, and Post Road English Gardens) all hit it out of the park with their services. The full-service nature of the venue takes so much stress away from planning the wedding. Thank you Sanctuary for giving us a magical night that we will remember the rest of our lives!
Taylor Marie: Was maid of honor for a wedding here. Incredible staff, beautiful venue! Highly recommend for any weddings or special events! Jade went above and beyond to make the day everything the couple wanted! Thank you!!!
Kerry Edwards: We got married at The Sanctuary on Penn exactly a month ago from today and wish we could do it all over again! It was such a beautiful and special venue and we’ve gotten many compliments from our wedding guests on how much they loved our wedding. It feels like something straight out of Italy in the main room. We really appreciated Evan’s help all along the way with organizing meetings and answering all of our questions over emails and phone calls in between meetings. One of the best and most special parts of our wedding day The Sanctuary coordinated was the private moment after the ceremony, when they set up a table with champagne, cheese and fruit, and we got to savor the moment with just the two of us after just having gotten married in front of a whole room packed with people we love. We also really loved the grand exits they do, from the ceremony and also at the end of the night on the way out to our limo.Their decorations closet was very useful and though we brought a lot of our own decorations in, we saved a lot of money too by using their lanterns for our aisle. It was also so useful that they allowed us to pick up some items after the honeymoon, instead of some venues that rush you into collecting everything at the end of the wedding night. The whole day was so special and magical, and The Sanctuary really felt like a world of our own for the day. We highly recommend it!
Mike Sipniewski: Nice place with good food. In need of another men's room or at least expand the one downstairs.
Tuan Nguyen: The lay out is not great. Bathrooms are located bottom floor and the rounded stair case is shared with the staffs.
Tenley Orr: We got married at the Sanctuary, and the entire experience was positively lovely. The staff was very professional and accommodating. They kept the planning process and the day of easy going and fun. Evan and Jade are really wonderful to work with. We went with the in-house photographer, Mariah, and the DJ, Don. Both of these vendors were a great call. They work with the venue seamlessly. The food was fantastic. I highly recommend this venue, no matter what the event may be.
Megan Fonde: From the moment we walked into the Sanctuary, we knew we had found our wedding venue. The space is absolutely stunning, beautifully decorated, clean and well-maintained, with thoughtful touches all over and fun surprises around every corner. From there, our experience just kept getting better. We met Evan and his staff, and they immediately felt like old friends. We cannot say enough about how amazing they were during the entire process. They are so kind, creative, thoughtful, organized- they are magic. They let us handle the fun parts of planning, and they took care of everything else. All of our family and friends could not believe how stress-free and fun the planning, menu tasting, rehearsal, and wedding day all were. Evan and his staff made everything feel special. We spent the entire day at the Sanctuary the day of the wedding. It was so nice to be able to do everything in one place. No running around town, no rushing, no stress. We decorated, we got ready, we hung out, we ate, we took photos, and then we went right into getting married! And ohhhhh, the photos! There are so many beautiful, unique, charming, and romantic places in and around the building for wedding photos! We went with the house photographer Mariah, and she was fantastic! She knows the space inside and out, she’s such a nice person, she has great ideas, and her photos are beautiful. We also went with the house DJ, Don Masters, and he was awesome. This guy knows so much about all different kinds of music! He was really fun to talk to, he was super helpful with planning everything involving music, speeches, etc., and he’s a really great emcee- he knows how to read a crowd, and he kept us all on schedule post-ceremony.Let’s talk about the food!! The chef is incredible. This is not typical wedding food. This is a talented artist sharing her craft. This was really important for us. We both LOVE food- as culture, as art, and as a basic human right. We really, REALLY wanted to be able to treat all of our guests to a delicious, top-notch meal, and the staff at the Sanctuary made that happen. The passed appetizers and the main meal were absolutely amazing. They have so many great options, and they are super accommodating when it comes to special requests, dietary restrictions, kids’ meals, etc. PLUS they donate any food that gets left, so you can start the next chapter of your life by making a difference for others. They really do think of everything! The day of the wedding, Evan and Jade made sure we were happy all day, and at the end of the night, we said our goodbyes, and they reassured us we did not have to worry about cleaning up or taking all of our stuff with us- we could pick it up whenever. What a gift that was! The last thing you and your wedding party will want to do at the end of such a long day is stay late to clean up. And since Evan and Jade honestly care about their couples and want them to have the best day of their lives, they take care of all that for you! And they don’t even charge you extra for it!Which brings us to our final point. The price. It is shocking how affordable this wedding was. We looked at many other venues, and every single one was at least twice the price and less than half the value. Do yourself a favor, and have your wedding at the Sanctuary. You won’t regret it!
muckermaffick.dm .gmail.com: Beauty and history in one place, great venue
Aden Kouveras: Beautiful interior
Thomas Tucker: the sanctuary was easily one of the top best venues I've had the pleasure of working with in the two years that I've been DJing! Evan is a beast that man is truly an unsung hero, and Jade would be the Batman to Evans Superman! These two were so clutch! The Sanctuary was a beautiful, and Historic Beauty! At first I was Impressed with the architecture, Then by the use of space, then by the staff, this place easily blew away any other experience I've had at a venue
missy rust: Just trying to find out information to secure an event date has been atrocious. They won't give any info without showing up to a meeting. When you live out-of-state this is nearly impossible. Tried to set up meeting multiple times with no luck. Making a last minute trip to Indy tomorrow and called to give it one more try. Guy hung up on me. Kind of crazy to think this would be the start of a wedding experience. Apparently they have so much business they don't care to be hospitable at all.
Marissa Gagnon: If you are considering booking Sanctuary on Penn for your wedding, my advice to you is DO IT!We booked this venue back in January 2019 and our original wedding date was 10.10.2020. Of course, then the pandemic happened. We are so lucky that we chose a venue that was incredibly flexible and understanding throughout moving our date not once, but twice. They never charged us additional deposits and were so good to us.We finally got to have our big day on 11.20.2021. I cannot say enough good things about Evan and Swails. We exchanged countless emails, had several calls/meetings, had multiple requests to update our dream sheet, and each time they were professional, responsive, and flexible. During our rehearsal and wedding, Evan was attentive and helpful from beginning to end. The fact that this venue came with such an amazing GM/Day of Coordinator made all of the difference.Yes, the space is absolutely stunning but the staff are really the ones that make your day run smoothly and bring it to life.Helpful tips:-Book Don Masters through the venue as your DJ.-Book Tammy Barillas to do your makeup.-Do the room flip if you want to have your ceremony and reception here (they have it down to a science).-The dream sheet and to do list Evan provides will be your best friend.Venue Cons:-The stairs can be dangerous, especially for older folks. Make sure they know a restroom is available on the first floor ahead of time. My husband's grandmother tripped and fell near the stage during the reception (she is okay), but just be aware that this could be an issue for older guests or drunk people.
Gayle Pearl: Wonderful wedding/reception venue.
Liz Lindauer: Handicapped entrance worse than horrible
Nichelle Thomas: Beautiful place and the best staff
Clay House Photography: Positive:Professionalism,QualityLoved working at Sanctuary on Penn for one of our client's wedding recently. My favorite place for pictures was in front of the ivy wall. So pretty! The day ran smoothly and the couple was thrilled with how the day turned out.
Mika Liechti-Hawkins: As a wedding photographer, I love an older building with a gorgeous interior. The Sanctuary on Penn was exactly that! The staff was very helpful and answered any questions I had. The resident DJ was awesome and kept the guests + bridal party engaged which made for amazing photos. The basement is also super spacious and a great place to hang out before the ceremony. The two rooms for the bride and groom to get ready in was a bit tiny. If you have a big wedding party, keep that in mind. Great experience at this venue!
Lauren Reinking: Our wedding day was truly the greatest day of our lives. Evan worked his butt off to make sure everything went smoothly! He also had amazing communication between all of our vendors and the day could not have gone better! We had such an amazing time. The food was incredible, the decor was spot on, the changing of the room during cocktail hour went over without issues, and the whole day was incredible thanks to Evan, Tiffany (the chef) and the rest of the staff. I also was told by many, many of my guests that the bartenders were so fun and really great to work with! Thanks to the Sanctuary's team of people! We had the best wedding we could've ever dreamed of.
Beth Brandon: We had our wedding here in October of 2020. Early pandemic was a crazy stressful time to plan a wedding- but the team at Sanctuary on Penn took a lot of the stress off our shoulders! They were super accommodating and plans had to change and adjust. We loved the menu of options for how 'all inclusive' we wanted. We were still able to use our photographer which was very important to us. However, I loved not having to vet a DJ. We could trust their vendors thanks to the experience they have! My favorite (well one of) part- that the team set up and tore down so we didn't have to haul family out early the next day. Worth every penny! Every wedding I have been to since I can't help but think about how perfect our day was- stress free and full of fun- thanks to Sanctuary on Penn!
Mischell Johnson: Lovely wedding

The Balmoral House: what do users think?
Amy Corey: I held a THANKSIVING VIP Party at The Cottage and it was the PERFECT intimate setting. It is a "different" space with a set up that worked well. The staff was extremely helpful and I will book that space again for sure!
Alexa Spurlock: This venue was amazing. The staff was super nice and helped in every way possible to help us have an amazing wedding.
Aaron Hook: Helpful staff, could not have asked for a better wedding!
Katt Hawthorne: My husband Andy and I were married at the Balmoral House in Fishers, IN in September of 2021. We utilized a substantial amount of the event space that Balmoral has to offer--our ceremony was held out at the Pergola, we had cocktail hour down by the bar and on the back patio, dinner upstairs in Eaton Hall, and dancing out on the grand deck. The bridal party expanded into the multi-room ready space upstairs for their preparation; the groom's party gathered down in their basement space for their own suiting up. The wedding party used the Hideaway downstairs for quick breaks and make-up fixes before formal photos. We really expanded to fill the space that was available to us, and felt right at home doing so.Our venue coordinator, Sarah Salinas, as well as all of the Balmoral staff were great to work with. I was in direct contact with Sarah for a lot of the planning and was grateful to her for her endless patience answering a million different questions, many of which were thought of piecemeal and fired off in countless separate emails. She was never anything other than enthusiastic and excited for us; she was a joy to work with.We chose this venue because of the outdoor ceremony space at the pergola, and because of its amenities like ready room spaces, full bar, grand deck, and dinner space. Another venue we looked at was quite disparate in its room arrangement--everything was segmented, and there wasn't much natural flow from one area to the next, which we feared would discourage guests from mingling comfortably. The grounds at Balmoral were also great backdrops for photos. The staff even allowed us to supply the bar with some custom cocktail recipes themed around our event, and set up a canopy near the ceremony site for the bridal party to get staged in prior to the ceremony.Ultimately, what it boils down to is that Balmoral is a gorgeous, people-friendly venue space, staffed by enthusiastic people who did everything in their power to make our wedding day the perfect day that we wanted it to be. We would absolutely recommend the Balmoral House if you're looking for a space for your own big day. It was a completely positive experience from our initial walkthrough until we climbed into our getaway car at the end of the evening. We're pleased that Balmoral will always be part of our wedding day memories.
Hannah Sanders: The moment I toured The Balmoral House I knew I wanted to get married at this venue. I loved the beautiful space and grounds. Everything about this venue was perfect from day one and it was so easy getting ahold of our venue manager(s) throughout the planning process. Sarah was so helpful answering any questions and concerns I had leading up to the wedding. When both my fiancé and I tested positive for Covid two days before the wedding, Sarah and her team were incredibly flexible working with us to find a new date. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and understanding during an incredibly stressful situation. On our wedding day we worked with Jamie and she was so kind and helpful throughout the entire day. I also was so impressed by the service from the bar staff and we got many compliments about the quality of the drinks and service. We had an amazing wedding despite having to reschedule to a Sunday and are so happy with the service from The Balmoral House. I would definitely recommend The Balmoral House to anyone and would for sure use this venue again for a future event!
Kirby Kirk: This was a wonderful experience, beautiful event space, staff was great and very professional. Our guest loved the facility and were wanting the space for their next event. Overall, exceeded our expectations.
Charlotte Isley: Our retirement party was a success thanks to the staff at The Balmoral House. Sarah S. took such good care of us and met all of the expectations we needed. The venue was just perfect and we couldn't be happier!
Isaac Beasley: Beautiful venue, poor business ethic. My now wife and I signed prior to COVID but they did not work with my military restrictions as COVID developed. Their communication was intermittent and three different event specialists managed our portfolio during our time working with them. They raised their prices mid-COVID and told us we would have to pay the new prices if we pushed our event date as I was unable to travel during our initial date. Read the fine print very closely and consider they liberally interpret their Force Majure clause. I can't recommend doing business with these folks—there are plenty of other beautiful venues that are honest.
simon o: The place is beautiful. The person who worked with us was great. Overall we loved the placed and had an amazing wedding. BUT the owner Diana is a old rude elitist. That lady will scoff at you for not paying 3 dollars per water glass. They added several additional fees after we already signed a contract because the contract did not explicitly state the items. Why do tables and clothes have to be well over a thousand dollars?
Erin Grabert: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueExtremely beautiful venue with great packages and pricing. Ashtin and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to make our wedding day as special as possible! I highly recommend if you are looking for a wedding or an event venue!!
Erika Bradley: I fell in love with The Balmoral House on day one. The grounds are beautiful inside and out. Though I wished we used outside more or were prompted to use outside more since ultimately you're paying for it all. Our wedding took place as Covid was settling down so we were able to still host a larger indoor ceremony otherwise we were skeptical about the capacity limits and the price being worth it for the venue. The place is just so nice that having 50 people or less than what you imagined is not ideal if all of your loved ones cannot experience the grounds ( I was so worried about this in conjunction with their reschedule, etc policies). I worked with Reid, Ashtin, and Sarah. It was choppy moving from person to person since we had already had our first planning meeting which went great and had to have a second. Second meeting was unprofessional & we were very rushed. It was not all the way satisfactory because a lot that we had talked about in the first meeting was not carried over or even noted. So we had to try and recall details (in a rushed manner) to solidify things. Thought it would be more of a run through and it was just to some extent. Linens were going to be charged at a rate higher than that of the rental company they use until I expressed I would rent my own linens through the actual company and after saying that the price was adjusted so I did end up renting through Balmoral. At the time I just took it for what it was and made sure to go back through my notes, etc and just email with any changes. First meeting coordinator even offered to help with simple small day of tasks, we did not get that the second time around. My mother was not happy but we were in too deep and I just could not get over the grounds. I feel that the employees/owners need to realize people are shoveling loads of money into this venue and the service should always reflect that. For the money being paid some things could come complementary other than tables etc. Including "wedding" with anything, prices seem to increase just because of the word. Paying well over 10k for a wedding it only seems right to include a day of coordinator with experience imo. I used my own which did work well because I couldn't fathom dropping another 1k for a coordinator for one day. Just mentioning because this service would have been appreciated as a wedding venue. The mimosa and fruit bar was delicious at an extra cost of course but not by much. Like many have said theres fees for everything. To come in one hour earlier (since my family has a decor company and I was to be helping and wanted to help) we were told it would be an extra $400 for ONE hour, which I found crazy since no other parties were going to be in the venue anyway. Theres so many events being hosted here on average that the tac on fees unfortunately become ridiculous. One event Im sure pays the mortgage lol 🤷🏽‍♀️. The Dj was moved a few times which was not ideal because he last ended up outside in the blazing heat where the music could not be heard indoors. Understandable for space reasons at first but all was not done to move him back inside. No music was really heard during the eating part of the reception which was kinda alright because of the chatter anyways. I had 24 people in my bridal party and they were given plenty of space in Eaton Hall to stand after organizing everybody during rehearsal. Bridal suite was perfect for getting ready and was stocked with feminine products etc. Shower is like a water fountain, but does get very hot and gets the job done. Couldn't ask for better bar staff. Vendors were GREAT, I used MBP Catering and Complete Weddings + Events for videography and photobooth. The top tier of our wedding cake was forgot about but Balmoral made sure to get it to us at the end of the night. Again the grounds both inside and out are amazing. Balmoral was more my taste compared to other venues and local for us. Overall, it was beautiful, everyone enjoyed themselves, the day of was amazing and I am glad to have had my wedding at Balmoral! Pics taken just from phone, not prof.
Kaitlin Anderson: The Balmoral House was the perfect location for our special day!! They welcomed us with open arms from the beginning. Also, our guests could not stop RAVING about how unique this venue was the entire night!! Ashtin was our day of coordinator and also helped us throughout the entire planning process- she was INCREDIBLE! I would recommend this venue to anybody!
Kelly Sartino: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueExtremely responsive and accessible. Beautiful venue both indoors and outdoors! Gorgeous setting with unique views. Spacious and accommodating. I would absolutely hold future events at this location!
Sophie K.: The Balmoral House was incredible to work with! Our coordinator, Ashtin, was a life saver. We couldn’t have been more grateful for her help. She kept us sane even when wedding planning was stressful! The Balmoral is a beautiful venue with great spaces outside and inside, which was perfect since it ended up raining on our wedding day! We wouldn’t have had it any other way. It was the perfect day thanks to the Balmoral House and their incredible team. Ashtin Eskew is so great at what she does. We can’t thank her enough for her hard work and dedication to making our day perfect.
Trinity Patterson: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessHad my mother’s baby shower here! The associate (Sarah) we communicated with was accommodating and friendly. The space (inside and outside) was gorgeous! I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking to host a small/medium, chic event.
Larry Hurst: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueWe highly recommend the Balmoral House if you are looking for a beautiful our door spot. The staff was extremely helpful and responsive to our needs leading up to and during the event. We couldn't of been happier.
Abigail Sparks: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI worked with Sarah, Ashtin and Reid. They were all AMAZING. Sarah was our day of coordinator and she was incredibly helpful and such a joy to work with! The venue was clean and well kept, everything turned out so beautifully. So glad we chose Balmoral!
David Driml: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessVery happy with the staff and the facility. The kitchen/breakfast bar made serving and clean-up very easy. Very good parking and easy access. It was an overall good experience. Thanks.
Mackenzie Surber: Balmoral House did an excellent job with our wedding! The venue is absolutely gorgeous and such a unique space. The staff were very helpful as well. We worked with Reid and Lynn who both did a great job and were so helpful on our wedding day. I would highly recommend their day of coordinator package as well, it really made the day very stress free for us. Would highly recommend Balmoral House.
Nate Davis: Positive:Professionalism,QualityI was at a pergola ceremony on the 17th of October for my brother and his wife, Cody and Tia. The venue was gorgeous and the staff were very helping and cooperative and did a fantastic job at setting the event up and helping it go smoothly. Overall an awesome team and a great place to hold a wedding
Tia E: Every single person we worked with at Balmoral House was extremely helpful, patient, and kind. They truly care about every wedding they hold there, even the small ones like mine. Lynn was exceptional and did everything she could to make our day special. She is a great addition the Balmoral House team.My family has also hosted a baby shower here and they did an excellent job with that. They have something that can accommodate many types of events. To be honest, I could go on and on and make a super long review but it comes down to one thing. This venue is gorgeous, unique, and versatile and I HIGHLY recommend using Balmoral House for your wedding, or any event you may have.

Black Iris Estate: what do users think?
John Smith: First the pros: It’s a nice venue and the organizer was helpful, although professionalism during the several weeks contact was variableNext the cons:The organizer’s insistence on business protocol significantly affected individuality. The final charge was a little more than twice what was quoted. About the only thing for which we were not charged extra was the air we breathed while we were in the facility. My advice to you is : be prepared to pay significantly more than what was quoted. Aamina Siddiqui: Had my wedding here recently. Everything went smoothly. I was so grateful to have Lauren take care of my event! She had everything taken care of and organized. It was all planned in such a short time and came together so perfectly. The venue was so beautiful along with space for the groom and bride to get ready
Jeremy Robinson: Attended a wedding here recently, the venue was pretty and that’s all. Not well maintained, not very clean. Stained up old carpet upstairs in the rooms for getting ready. Missing ceiling tiles. Complete building smelled like the sewer was being dumped in the basement. The wedding planner was unprofessional and didn’t have info together. Don’t recommend.
Jim & Elysia Meyer: We love this unique venue! We've been photographing there for years and love the versatility of the indoor/outdoor options. Great venue and team!
Macy Collett: I can’t recommend Black Iris enough for a wedding! The staff was easy to work with and the food was incredible! I loved having a private venue for our special day!
Andy Beckstein: We had a wedding there A wedding reception reception and wedding rehearsal the staff is awesome the food was incredible. The atmosphere is out of this world would recommend this place to anyone they could not have done a better job for us than what they did
Aleasha Ross: Beautiful place
Cari Bowersock: We’ve had so many clients host their wedding day at Black Iris Estate. Every one of them has gone seamlessly. The venue is gorgeous, yet is neutral enough to allow each couple’s style to truly shine through in their chosen florals and decor. I love having this little gem in our local event industry!
Christine Saricos: Based on the experience my family and I had I would not recommend. Unprofessional. They did not fulfill the staffing obligations as outlined in the contract or event order. Lots of service issues during the reception. After voicing my concerns I received a very rude and argumentative call from the owner. Take your business somewhere it will be appreciated.
Stacey S: The venue itself is beautiful! The planning process could be hard at times, there always seemed to be hidden fees (ie- we had the open bar and we added a bottle of ouzo to it. They tried to charge us for extra glasses for the ouzo even though we had an open bar ?). We were told as bride and groom we would be waited on personally for drinks and apps. The personal waiter checked on us once if we wanted a drink and never came back. One of the employees told my person I put in charge day of to “kiss their ass”. The owner did not care when we discussed this and said haven’t you been frustrated before? For the amount of money paid it was unprofessional. The wedding was beautiful and fun but the coordination could have been better for how much you pay. Lots of rules they won’t budge on and don’t care/seem apologetic. They know they will have people book either way.
Sarah Hargarten: The venue is beautiful and the food excellent. We were, however, disappointed in our experience with Thomas Caterers at times throughout our reception planning process. My husband and I felt that they were not very empathetic to the Covid situation and that their ultimate goal was to get as much money out of us as possible. We would suggest to get all understandings in writing if you book this venue.
Emily Downs: A bit chilly in the older, front area.
Lucy Egede: The venue was very beautiful. They have multiple staff members passing orders. I stopped counting after I saw about 8 or 9 days. None of the event guess had to wait for a drink or food. If anything I had to ask them to stop coming to me to offer me something to eat. No one here was very friendly. The location and the staff members are well trained and appear to enjoy themselves as they're working. Your guess will be pleased if you built this event please.
George Furman: Very nice place. FANCY!
Shane Litz: Great venue for a wedding! Beautiful setting.
Craig Burton: Difficult to get equipment where needed.
Hannah Medawattage: Black Iris was an absolute dream of a wedding venue! From the moment I reached out to do a tour to the very end of the wedding, the team there was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The venue speaks for itself… it is absolutely gorgeous! I loved that we had our ceremony outside, cocktail hour outside/inside, and the reception in the main ballroom. The outside willow chapel is beautiful and was such a unique place to do the ceremony. Thomas catering did a great job with service and food quality was great! I loved the bridal suite for getting ready with my bridesmaids all day! I am so happy with how the whole wedding experience turned out and would highly recommend this place to everyone!
cheryll polley: Beautiful. My niece had her wedding and reception there. Fairytale
kevin schultz: Great place for weddings
Katie Rhinesmith: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessThe Black Iris was incredible to work with, I would absolutely recommend them. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the Willow Chapel is breathtaking. The food was INCREDIBLE, we had so many people comment on it. They made our dreams a reality and I am so grateful. Special shout out to Christina, she is absolutely incredible!!
Christopher Baker: Place is beautiful, staff was nice. There are two things that could be improved. First is there is quite a bit of road noise that can be heard during outdoor ceremonies. This could be improved if they added a sound barrier fence. The second is that food was served lukewarm at best.

Pipers at the Marott: what do users think?
Cameron Kelley: This place is wonderful if you are a young adult looking for your first job Ashley is a great manager I constantly reminisce about my time spent working there and the only reason I left is because I purchased a home 55 miles away. Chase the current owner does a great job of continuing his father's legacy and vision of the company (his father Will the original owner has been out enjoying life ) the exact same since I first walked in those doors 6 years ago when I was there they treated me like family and I will never forget the skills I learned at pipers it's truly a unique experience and if you are thinking of starting a job here you are making a great choice . As a former employee for pipers I thought the weddings they host and help plan are wonderful, beautiful ceremonies and the positive reviews you see are well earned and chef Chase is a fantastic chef whose food will leave you wanting another plate. All in all pipers is a wonderful place to work and a great place to have weddings and corporate events. I I hope my review helped someone. Whether you need a job or a great place to have a wedding with a ton of history you should go to Pipers!
God's Son: Beautiful historic event venue with wonderful staff and lovely Grecian style decor.
Paige Priami: This venue was absolutely beautiful. The staff was so helpful and accommodating! I would recommend Pipers to anyone who is looking for an affordable yet aesthetic venue to host their event.
Katie Lenz: We had a really great experience working with Ashley and the team at Pipers. We booked our rehearsal there so we could set up the day before and used the Meridian room as a big open bridal suite for the day. It was a game changer! The food was so good at the rehearsal (we did a taco bar with some extras) that everyone wanted to take leftovers. They crystal room is so beautiful you don’t need a lot of other decorations. The food was really delicious for the price point- many of our guests were talking about it the next day! Tommy and Chase were both extremely accommodating and attentive. We thought using the atrium as the dance floor might be frustrating to some of our guests who wanted to sit but it ended up getting everyone up and dancing and allowed our tear down team in the reception room a little earlier to get started so they weren’t there all night. Location is convenient to downtown and the north side, and the security team on site was really good. We would absolutely recommend to a bride on a budget!
Kimberly Bowman: Pipers at the Marott is a wonderful venue! Ashley, Tommy, Chef, and staff made sure that our daughter’s wedding day went smoothly and exactly how she hoped it would. The entire process from start to finish was a great experience. Any questions we had, or requests that were made, were always positively dealt with. We had a very short time line but never felt rushed or that it wasn’t manageable. Pricing was very reasonable, as well, with many options to fit our budget. You won’t go wrong choosing Pipers at the Marott for your wedding venue!
Thor England: Absolutely beautiful. The attention to detail in the lobby and the styling were superb. There is also a pool and full exercise room. The concierge was friendly and knowledgeable.
Zach Kleemann: My experience with Pipers at the Marott was phenomenal! Ashley is one of the most dedicated people you will ever meet and she will work from start to finish to ensure that you have the best wedding imaginable. The chef seems to have immense experience as the food is top notch. The convenience of having an amazing dinner in one of their stunning rooms and then having the reception in their beautiful atrium also cannot be beat. I HIGHLY recommend at least scheduling a tour and seeing for yourself what all the fuss is about!
Devon McVey: Absolutely loved having our wedding reception at Pipers! It's a beautiful venue, they provide excellent food options and the Pipers team was such a joy to work with (Ashley, Debra, Brandi and Chef Jeff). To add to that, it was very convenient to have the catering included with our reception venue. Huge shout out to Ashley Coughenour for always being so helpful, responsive and kind. You're the best Ashley! We would 100% recommend having your wedding or any other special event here.
Maria Thompson: As a wedding photographer I absolutely love working at Pipers at the Marott! Their venue is STUNNING and the team is so incredible to work with! Ashley with Pipers is wonderful and I always enjoy working with her and her team. They are so organized and make the day perfect for all of their couples and wedding vendors too! If you are looking for a beautiful venue close to Downtown Indianapolis then look no further! Their Crystal Room is like something straight out of a fairytale!
Leah Padget: Ashley and Brandi were the most helpful people in this whole wedding process! I am so grateful for them. From emailing back and forth to in person meetings, the process was a breeze.During the wedding, Ashley helped keep everything on track and orchestrated every tiny detail seamlessly. The staff at Pipers are not comparable, they will make you (the bride and groom) feel like a million bucks! They are so kind and helpful. I’m so thankful for them!Brandi makes the best drinks, despite me not talking to her very much, she was there 100% of the time to help where she was needed. My experience is definitely a core memory that I will never forget! I couldn’t thank Pipers enough for making my important day so special.
Danielle Weaver: Nice venue, food was good. Heads up if you get Ashley she's amazing! She's such a great manager so helpful and nice. If you end up with Tommy be prepared he's difficult and hostile. After departing the kitchen we were told was ok to go into he stormed out and yelled at us to not come back into the kitchen. When I tried to explain we had worked with Ashley before he stated "she was the opening manager. I'm the closing don't go in the kitchen". Exceptionally rude try to avoid having to work with him.We were also told after asking if there were to go containers that there were none however when we ventured into the kitchen low and behold there were styrofoam containers.
Shaylynn Wallace: Wonderful venue. The staff is superb. Ashley the coordinator goes above and behind to make the wedding of your dreams. Absolutely everyone is professional and so kind. This venue is perfect and they will exceed any expectations. Absolutely perfect place to say I do. The atrium is my favorite room; the greenery and intimacy is unmatched!
Shawn Freeman: Provided a great service and support for my son's wedding and reception!
Geralynn Nye: Beautiful wedding venue! Incredible staff. Delicious food.
Lisa VanHorton Weddings: As a wedding planner, there are inclusive venues that make wedding planning easy and seamless. Pipers is one of them. Great location, beautiful inside Atrium area and elegant ballrooms. The food was excellent, including the catered lunches for wedding party as they got ready onsite. Ashley, the manager, is amazing and was so helpful the entire way through, I would not hesitate to plan another Pipers wedding in an instant!
Clarence Fanning: I love Pipers at the Marott! Ashley Coughenour & the staff are marvelous to work with and make sure that you have everything that you need to make your night complete. Working hard from beginning to end, it’s easy to see why Pipers is booked up every weekend. The venue boasts several wide area spaced rooms to hold ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, as well as the reception. The location also makes a great place for the bridal party to take stunning photos with the downtown city as the backdrop, while guests mingle post ceremony. I’ve performed as a wedding DJ in hundreds of venues throughout the years and none of them compare to the great staff & experience of Pipers at the Marott.
Brandon Berry: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,Value
steve jones: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueGreat Staff ,,Great Company,, Awesome Venue...Plan Your Event Today!!
Jeff Henley: My daughter recently held her wedding here. They were breaking down tables in the dining area during the event, throwing away the desserts on the table 2 hours before our event was over. The late night snack was only out for 15 min before they threw that away. The service manager Ashley reeked of cigarettes and we caught her digging through suitcases in the bridal suite. Yes the venue is pretty, but not worth the headache.
Gaming Young: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI had recently attended a wedding here and it was amazing! The venue was beautiful, the staff was great and very attentive, the food was amazing, and I would recommend this venue to everyone! I’ve been to several wedding’s and this was by far the best venue and experience ever!
Brandi Moore: This was such a beautiful venue! It was a really big plus having the ceremony and reception all at the same place so our guest did not have to go from place to place! Ashley was amazing and put forth so much effort to make everything flow so smoothly! She was very attentive to all of our needs and her staff went above and beyond for everyone! The bartender was absolutely amazing her signature drinks are so good, she knew what she was doing, and always had a great drink suggestion for everyone! I would 100% recommend this venue! Not only was it a beautiful venue, had amazing staff, great food, it was also really good priced! You cannot get everything we got here for that price anywhere else! We was extremely happy with everything!
