Em Horvath: Found this place searching for a lunch spot as we were stopping from out of town to see a show. My mom and I have been vegetarian for years, and we both loved being able to consider an entire menu rather than picking through for the stuff without meat (although it made it harder for us to choose!). An amazing assortment of meals with so many veggies and lots of non-meat protein. I got the sautéed tofu and veggies and loved it, huge portions and came out quick. A great little hole in the wall place. I feel like my food was a little on the unsalted side, and they only serve brown rice but those are the only things I would keep in mind about coming here, and are certainly not an issue. Definitely check this place if you are vegetarian/vegan, and try it even if you’re not!

Marcie Shields: One star is generous! I spent $48 on my first (and only!) take-out order from Pinellia and, after a few bites, ended up throwing everything--except for the spring rolls and vegetable dumplings--in the trash. Disgusting! The Moo Shu Vegetable was watery, soggy and filled with disintegrating, overcooked cabbage. The sesame noodles had no flavor. We tried adding soy sauce, sriracha, sesame oil, but nothing helped. While waiting for our order, I took a glance around. The place looked like a cyclone had hit it and it was not clean.

Heather Helms: Buffets are a dying breed post Covid. We were passing through town on a road trip and happened to find this place on yelp. Great value Chinese food!! The flounder was really good! I was excited to see gizzards on the buffet as well. If you’re more into traditional Asian cuisine there’s plenty of options. I’m not expecting the world from a buffet that costs less than $10 including drink. This place really hit the spot though. Would def eat here again!!

Jeffery Merrill: This will always rate near the top of my favorite Chinese buffets. Good fresh food, great ingredients, even if they do cater to the American preference for sweetness. Staff is friendly and quick, attentive to needs. Even better, drinks are included in the buffet price!!!! What they call pot stickers are actually steamed dumplings that use the same kind of filling as pot stickers. I only have a couple of issues with New China, and pretty much every Chinese buffet. The Hot and Sour soup, while good, has some of the sourness but none of the spice needed in a proper Hot and Sour. They use a standardized soup mix that I consider far below par. Also, very few dishes that claim to be spicy actually have any heat whatsoever to them. I like spice so when I eat Schezuan Chicken I want it to kick me a bit. American palates are weak and pathetic to the point I just don't condone how Chinese cooking has been so severely sweetened to appeal to the American appetite. When I prefer to diine at a Chinese restaurant, whether it is a sit and order or a buffet, I want authentic Chinese food. New China gets as close as it can for a buffet.

Elaine Shafer: If you haven't treated yourself to Bantam, don't miss the chance to go--the chef is a true culinary artist! In both taste and appearance of each dish, there is so much attention to detail. We went 8/6/22 and Robert (? name) was an excellent server who made the experience even better. Our cocktails were delicious! We have tried many dishes at Bantam, and have never been disappointed. Last night I had the Barramundi, which is a fish I had never tried before. The fish was cooked perfectly and the glaze, rice, and vegetables blended beautifully with it. My husband and daughter loved their Fried Chicken Dinner (big portions, he even took a leg home!) and Rieff sandwich. We also tried the Sticky Califlower and potato empanadas, which were great. And then there was the dessert--you have to try whatever they are offering because, again, the details...an absolute treat!My first review:We went here for the first time for my birthday and all 6 in our party were very happy with our food and drinks! My favorite was the coconut shrimp, but we had a wide variety of items from the menu and they were all delicious. Make sure to try the empanadas! Our server was friendly and helpful, as well. We will definitely be back!

Jake Livingston: This place is great!The service was excellent, the beer selection was awesome, and the food was super yummy.If I had one gripe, it would be that I ordered the xxx-hot chicken sandwich and wasn’t even remotely hot. Like wouldn’t even hit the mild level at most hot chicken places. I suspect that was a fluke and I’m excited to try again to see if I can get one that’s actually hot. Regardless, my surprisingly mild chicken sandwich was delicious and I would absolutely get it again.If you’re looking for a properly Hot chicken sandwich, maybe look the server in the eye and say “tell them to make me regret this decision” or something along those lines haha.
Mariana Schnell: The food at this place is top notch! Chicken and biscuits are fantastic. I had the fish as I did not want carbs and it was delicious. We finished our meal with their strawberry ice cream. We will be back.

Robert Conner: This place is amazing and I absolutely love each and every visit. Bantam thinks outside box, and has the best fried chicken which pairs exceptionally well with the crab hushuppies which covered in a lemon herb sauce. The staff here is amazing they help to accommodate a variety of dietary needs including gluten free. Servers are quite friendly even though overworked seem to go above and beyond make everything perfect. Drinks are well made and tasty especially for the price, tonight I had a peanut butter smores martini where the bartender actually came out and lit my marshmallows on fire, tasted just like I was sitting at a campfire which was perfect for after dinner desert. This place is a must visit, get out the norm and try something exquisite. I will definitely be returning again and again.
Davids Hands: I have to say the service was poor. More than once we literally left our table to look for a server.The menu options we certainly not "common". "Odd" might be a better description.I won't say "never again" but I can't think of a reason to return.
Molly Abraham: Donte (cook/owner) is a FOOD GENIUS. I have never been disappointed and everything I have ever ordered is well worth the value and is a healthy portion. The food is absolutely incredible. The entrees are unique and change frequently. The cocktails are fantastic and are high quality. The mixology is very impressive and the liquors are good quality.I have seen some reviews that say they are “overpriced” or have “small portions”. Some people don’t understand there’s a price for quality. Everything is INCREDIBLY reasonable for what it is and if prices went up I would still be willing to eat here. For the quality, the prices are incredible. Those of you who think it is undersized or overpriced, I invite you to McDonalds for a couple Big Macs. Large portions and cheap prices, you’re welcome.

Briana smith: Wanted to try Thai food for the first time after trying a co workers food. He told me about this spot so i called in a meal he told me about, once i got there i found out that i had ordered the wrong thing, the young lady at the front counter went to ask her manager what she should do since i had ordered the wrong meal and wanted to order something different. Well the young lady came back and said that her manager said that their policy is that if i order something i have to pay for it even if it’s the wrong thing. Well i walked out and went to the jerk chicken place around the corner for dinner and i will not be back here. Great job with loosing a potential customer and wasting a meal and receiving $0 for it. Ian Owen: I lived in South Bend for five years until recently, and I went to Cinco as much as I could. Never had a bad meal. The Thai food, the Mexican food, the margaritas are all delicious, and the service is typically excellent; I’m honored to say a few of them now feel like friends! Friends who bring me great Pad Thai! What more can you ask? You would have to be some kind of fool who tries to change their order super late and then leaves in a huff to not enjoy this place.

H.W. Logic: I'd like to provide a review but this place is never open. I've called a few times and got met with serious attitude by the proprietor. Just the tone she took with me when I was trying to figure out how to spend money with her is enough for me to say nope. That's not customer service....if you run a restaurant, run a restaurant..if you have a hobby, have a hobby...but don't pretend your hobby is a real and legitimate business.

Camesha Hervey: In the hopes of getting a wonderful cuisine my Friend and I ventured out with optimism! She told me about all the new restaurants that have opened downtown! Ok cool let's break bread! Yoooo we sat for way too long and waited on our meals only to hear the DING of a microwave and our Styrofoam plates and plastic forks appeared before our eyes with something that looked inedible placed upon it! Check it..I ordered, well we both ordered the Salmon Alfredo $20 but they informed us that there was only one piece of salmon left. My pal opted to have the shrimp cause I was not interested in that at all!. I thought surely when I saw that there was bacon on these entries, it was going to be some beautifully smoked Applewood upon my salmon NAAAHHH! BACON BITS! My friend and I have dined at some fine establishments stateside and overseas, this salty, three to four frozen broccoli, box pasta dish was not what we expected! I am a firm believer in second chances. I am going to have to decline if I am offended a meal here! You go for yourself but don't say I didn't warn you! Me...I am a FOODIE if it was good I would tell you if its bad I will tell you in the hopes that they will get better! Carry On. Peep the pics below. Kathleen O'Brien: I tried this place out for the first time, and it was amazing!! I needed a good crab-fix in South Bend and Red Lobster just wasn’t cutting it. Customer service is great, Tera is a bubbly and wonderful person! The food was also everything I hoped for and more! The sauce is something incredible and is much better than just the classic melted butter. I got the crab boil and I added some shrimp (balling out for graduation celebration dinner) and let me tell you it was the right decision!! Highly recommend - two thumbs up!

I also got a Small boil w. a extra corn but the corn was really hard and dried out. Shrimp was salty egg was still in a shell! And I’m also not a fan of the sauce they have its more of a mayo based sauce! Sausage was salty as well.
Anesha Williams: Every time I go down town during "business hours " they are closed and sign clearly says open with hours posted. Tried to call before attempting to take the drive again and no answer but website states the establishment is open until 9 smh . One person from church who caught it open said the portions are very small

Anna Weissman: Overall, lackluster. The grounds are beautiful but the service was really sub-par. It took about 20 minutes to get our first drink after we sat down, and likely only because I was eye ballin the server by that point. Our starter, the burrata beet salad was 90% beets, and our mains took another 40 minutes.. and they weren’t worth the wait. It wasn’t busy, and there appeared to be one server? It looked like the bartender left at one point. The mosquitos were voracious and it got super dark super quick, it was hard to see my dinner partner and entree. Overall, we were looking forward to the night but it was lackluster. By the end, we couldn’t wait to get the check. I think the spot has potential, but not as is.

Dave Miller: For fine dining in South Bend Carriage House cannot be topped. The food and service was outstanding. The menu changes regularly so every visit will be a new experience. There is outdoor seating available when the weather permits. Plenty of parking.
Marcie Soper: We wish we could rate this place higher! It is an iconic tradition, our family has attended many times in the past. However, we arrived at 6:50 for a 6:45 reservation and were greeted with hesitant faces. We sat and it took 25 minutes before anyone asked us if we wanted a drink. We were, served our first two courses in 3,5 hours, left at 10:145 pm, had not been served our main course yet, wish. We could say better because the food for first 2 cources tasted amazing!

Samantha Flesh: The ambiance and the servers were great. As a vegetarian there are very limited options. We spent a good deal of time fighting the bees flying around the patio. If you're a carnivore then definitely go for a burger, the 1851 was recommended by someone else in my party. However the pizzas and dessert are not worth the price. If I were to go back I would just go for drinks and appetizers.

We had cocktails, appetizers, and pizzas made in the outdoor pizza oven, all while listening to live jazz music. Then took a relaxing stroll with a glass of rose wine through the garden. Staff was friendly and attentive. We’ll be back very soon!
Mymi Nguyen: Best thing about today's experience was our sweet server. This used to be a destination for dinning. We didn't have a great experience last time we were there a few years ago and when I saw they were opening back up I thought why not give it another shot. Reservation was 6:30pm for our anniversary. Only outside seating was open. We were there early so by the time 6:30 rolled around we already placed our orders. We said just to bring out out food as it comes, no worries. We sat there for an hour. By this time the table behind us was questioning where their did food was since they've been there for a long time. Our server came by and told us food was coming in a few minutes. 15 minutes later there was still no food. Not even a salad. When we told them we were leaving a guy behind the bar gave us attitude and told us it was their first day open and they were short staffed. That's understandable but he continued with a snappy comment of "its not fast food." We will NOT be coming back based on the attitude of the male server behind the bar. It was completely unnecessary and made an unpleasant experience into something much worse.

Included was steak fries with a nice seasoning. The tarter sauce was homemade and tasty. The dessert was a s'mores brownie with a rich chocolate flavor.
Tabatha Goins: This place is absolutely gorgeous!! We were there close to sunset and was able to the enjoy the views in the day and at night with the lights that make the garden come alive for that fairytale feeling. The food is so phenomenal, the Chefs Special shrimp was the best I’ve ever had, I’ll probably crave it for ever! Everything was wonderful and we tried a lot! The drinks were also delicious, not over powering and had the perfect end of summer taste, I highly recommend this place and if you can go an hour before sunset, do it! The beauty from day to night is seriously a sight and a mood

Chloe Barker: 10/10! My husband and I really enjoyed the food, they offer larger vegan and vegetarian options than most places we’ve been to, as well as meat options too! The food is inexpensive and everything was delicious! We split an appetizer and he got the pitza while I got the falafel roll. We couldn’t even eat everything and left feeling comfortably full. The atmosphere was quiet, even though there was a larger group near us. We had an excellent time there.I would absolutely recommend this place. Amber Whitney: The food quality here is lacking significantly. Which is a shame because I’ve eaten here before and it was really good. The roll-up we received (delivered thru dine in delivery) was a half doughy mess that fell apart almost immediately. There were 2-3 pieces of meat in the roll up. Apparently, that’s ok with Aladdin’s because dine in called on our behalf and management scoffed at remaking our food. Buyer beware also the baba ganoush only comes with one piece of bread to split 4 ways between you and other people. There was also an issue with one of our Pitzas, the dough didn’t have the right texture either. I Wouldn’t eat here again if you paid me to.

Can't say I'm disappointed.First off their menu is massive, you could probably find whatever you're craving here if you look around. Speaking of their menu they have some really neat options and mix-ups of the usual dishes.I got Harumaki, Yellowtail Sashimi, and Pepper Steak with white rice.The Harumaki were really good and the sauce that came with it made it all that much better, I also got an eggroll with my stuff which was a plus and that was good too.The Sashimi had splendid presentation and tasted great with their soy sauce.Lastly the Pepper steak was real solid, probably some of the best I've gotten out in a restaurant really. The rice was somewhat sticky and fluffy, the steak was good to perfection, and the veggies paired really well with everything else.They also have plenty of options for various diets so you can still enjoy the foods you love without worry.Overall 10/10 would recommend trying this place out.

Ryan: Don't be optimistic. Don't even think "oh why not, let's give it a go". You will be disappointed. You will receive subpar and pre-made food at best, with flat, dull, extremely basic flavor. Nothing was made fresh, it seemed like they just got it from a hot tray and fridge. I cannot speak on their sushi, but im sure martins will suffice beyond theirs. Just down the road, too. As for the lo mein, fried rice, sesame chicken, and sweet and sour chicken goes, head to the UP mall. They will take care of your needs there.

Link Winter: I've been a loyal IGD customer for several years now, and while their American Chinese and sushi menus are both good, what always keeps me coming back is the authentic Sichuanese menu! I only wish I could eat it for every meal, from the tomato and egg stir fry to the fish and tofu in chili sauce, and everything in between. There's a reason food from Sichuan is among the world's best cuisines, and Ichiban is where I get my fix!I can't say that I've ever had a bad experience with the staff, as others have claimed in their reviews, but I personally believe you get back what you put into the world, so I believe in being respectful at all times. They've never messed up my order, either, and when some ingredient is out of stock (normally the Chinese eggplant, which is difficult to come by in the first place), they always phone me to ask if I can make a substitution.Incidentally, I'm sitting in their parking lot while I write this, waiting for my takeout to be ready. Must every single item, the receipt bag and sandwich be deconstructed before an order give FIVE TIMES be given and charged correctly?
