The Hammer & Quill: what do users think?
nathan day: Great hand crafted cocktails lovely atmosphere
Marcus Newton: Great drinks and a great place to have conversations with people including staff! It was very welcoming!
Spencer T: Make sure to bring your sock hat and ironic jacket, as it does have a bit of a hipster vibe but the staff are very friendly and the place is clean and centrally located
Jerry Roberts: Great drinks.
Austin Simmons: Great drinks and amazing steak street tacos!
Pascual Lopez: This is the place to visit. Do not lose your jaw when you walk in because the amount of whiskey they have is intense. The pricing for the drinks and whiskey are fair and reasonable. It is easy to spend over $100 here regularly because every time you go, they have more rare treats. Was able to have some whiskeys I have been searching for at a retail cost and not price gouging. Hammer & Quill is the bees' knees.
Mark Schurr: Great drinks and atmosphere. Good snacks too.
AnonymousDog: Top notch aesthetic and service. Get top shelf options here. Tapas are light, tasty, premium ingredients.
Michelle Walters: Attentive and knowledgeable staff. Had an enjoyable and relaxed experience and a good quality cocktail.
Gerard Welling: They know how to mix a drink.
Jeff Hiatt: Best kept secret in South Bend!! Great vibe, great staff, and great whiskey selection, reasonably priced.
Suzanne Thomas: Fun cocktails. Friendly good service. Limited eats menu. Mainly small plates. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Barb Pietraszewski: Fantastic drinks and a great atmosphere!
Christopher Kueppers: Great little place with a great environment. They have cool plans for what they want to do with the place, they have awesome service, they're welcoming, and they're personable people. They're always trying out new recipes, so there's always something awesome and new to try. Plus, if you want to reserve the place for a whole event you can! This will become a regular place for me. I highly recommend them for a great night.Update: they have actually improved since my last review! They have more drinks, a bigger menu for food, and are constantly becoming faster, more personable, and just... better! When I thought it seemed like a place that was constantly going to scale itself in an upwards direction, I wasn't wrong. And I'm looking forward to seeing what else they're capable of in the future, including catering for events! Not even joking, they can do that!
fernando izaguirre: Had a great time with my date. I don’t usually order tacos but when I do, it’s from a Mexican restaurant or a taco truck, so decided to give them a try here and they were amazing!!! Had a great time!!
amanda havens: Mike is awesome!
Gary Hepting: Owner is awesome. Had a couple of really good local IPAs at this place. Really cool vibe
Spencer Felix: This was our second stop on a DTSB food and drink tour on Saturday night. We sat outside so we could hear the music festival coming from Howard Park. The drinks were excellent. We did not order food however it smelled amazing. The staff was very polite and attentive. However they were not well versed in their menus.I am looking forward to going back to eat and try some of there food.
John Bratcher: Best Old Fashion I've had in town.
Jered Spansell: Drinks were decent. Charcuterie board was great. Tacos were good also.
James MC: Nice place. The drinks, together with the ambiance, were stellar. Loved it.

Jerry Roberts: Drinks were great. Great environment. Mary is an excellent Bartender.
Marc Wertenberger: Great small, local owned bar with a friendly atmosphere.
Addonte Jenkins: Good people
Brian Fruchey: Will be coming back here for sure next time we're in the area. Bartender was absolutely enjoyable. Drinks were made to perfection. Dark, relaxing atmosphere.
Chris W: Fantastic Cuban sandwich. Old fashioned was on point. Jerry knows what he's doing, say hi for me
Eric Jackson: The Hideaway is a great place to have a beverage and conversation.
Paul Akkerman: Nice atmosphereGreat bartenderNice ambience
Britney Przygoda: Great bar, even better people. Bill and Jerry are always so great, and Mary is an exceptional bartender! We had our wedding at The Lasalle, and the Hideaway blew us away with the bar service. You won't regret using them for your wedding if you're holding it at The Lasalle!
andre Apocalypto: Best cocktails in town and the bartenders are all on point 👍🏽 big shout outs to Matt and Jerry! Cozy, professional with a beautiful layout, The Hideaway Speakeasy is the place to be!
Rwings73: Nice place to have a few drinks. Bartenders are very nice to chat with.
Johnny Navarro: Nice quite place...
Shane Frost: Great place for a solo, a couple, maybe three or four. Laid back. And the bartender knows the classics as well as the latest mixes.
Larry Piekarz: Great atmosphere with the best old fashions in South Bend.
Andrew Bergt: Friendly staff with good service
Adam Prine: Was visiting SB on a work trip from Chicago. This pace is awesome. Loved the feel and vibe, felt like home. And, the owner / bartender was such a lovely human being. If your in SB and your not having drinks here then you should be. Skip the hotel bars & pretenders. The Hideaway is the place.
Jacqueline Kidwell: Bartender is very knowledgeable and has awesome hair. Cool atmosphere.
Patrick Ferguson: Fun little bar in downtown. Staff is great. Have the food! Panini’s are fantastic! I go whenever I’m in town!
jessica carpenter: We will never go back to this place. Its very dark, drinks are extremely expensive (we ordered 2 - double vodka/Cranberry and they charged us $35 for the 2 drinks) that was a first for us. The drinks that were made were awful...its not hard to make a proper vadka cran... anyways, we paid and left without drinking our drinks because they were just terrible. The staff/possible owner (?) who sat at the bar drinking his own stock, wanted to argue with us about the price of our 2 drinks. ...just rude...I would never treat my customers like that 😒.
Dave Williams: Great drinks
Camelrider: Jerry is always a great host. The guests in the building are fun as well. Old Forester Manhattans served up, as cold as can be, are the best. Great atmosphere, and great drinks.

Corby's Irish Pub: what do users think?
Alex Hickman: Couldn’t even walk in this place because, “the owner wouldn’t like me”. I’m the furthest thing from a threat. Until you don’t let me into your establishment. What’s going on in there?
Rosa A.: Amazing DJ Dr Data!
Jacob Fleming: Great staff and lots to do throughout the week!
jamie dailey: Wish i could give it ZERO stars! We were profiled at the door for being a part of the LGBTQ+ community. My wife and I were told it was student id night only. Our friends who arrived before us also in their 30s were let in no questions aksed. Not to mention there were multiple patrons who were easily older then us inside. We also witnessed the bouncers denying enrty to 3 young black males who looked collage age but didn't have student id's. Those young men were filming the entire thing and were clearly being racially profiled and I hope they post it everywhere.Upon further investigation of the pub, the bouncers think its ok to assult women/men, especially woman who were man handled and punched in the face.. Thats super excessive, and unnecessary, just like your discrimination against anyone who isn't a "white bro"..Since you all are such b*gots at the door might as well save you the hassle and just post signs up on the front saying"Straight Whites Only!"But really i think they get a sick thrill/power trip out of doing it face to face...
Zoe Emory: The dj ( dr data) needs to play better music, more house music - better transitions??? Can’t justify paying 5$ cover for this - also bring earplugs you will lose your hearing :(
Rylee drummond: The bouncers here use excessive force when dealing with patrons. The bouncer, Alex, has not only assaulted me but many other customers as well at this bar! I was punched, choked, & left with many bruises by him this summer. I can’t believe this is still happening & the owner could care less.
Jen Jen: Our first night out with the girls and they decide to punch a women on her face and her shoulder
mayra macias: They prey on women and beat them up. Their tall big African bouncer hits women for no reason at the door. Watch out ladies!!! There’s multiple reviews of women getting hit for no reason!!!
veronica garcia: I will never come here again I witnessed a security officer put his hands on a women and grabbed her by the neck. Seeing that made me feel unsafe and not want to ever come back. No women should be treated that way
IllegalXcircle Filmz: This place is disgusting the security white wanna be biker with glasses. Has been racially profiling people. And feels entitled to say what he wants to you and will kick you out soon as you say something back. I will never come here again the security is a big joke. They will put there hands on you accessibly for saying the wrong thing to them.
Norberto Garcia: Corby’s Pub use to be a very awesome bar. Recently I went to the bar with my sister, my fiancé and her friends. I was wearing a gold chain, black jeans that were not sagging and a t-shirt. Which was a very similar dress code to what every one that was already in the bar was wearing. The best part is we got forcefully pushed out the bar which is fine and we were calm. however, the bouncers shoved, swung and hit my sister on her shoulder very hard, she bruised. A lot of people waiting in line saw what happen and were very upset making things escalate. Again my sister and I told everyone we weren’t with to step outside so we could talk to the bouncers. The bouncers were still very abusive threatening to pepper spray us for no reason other than them wanting to use excessive force. We were fine and even though that crowd started shouting racial slurs along with the bouncer following we still remained calm but the bouncer continued to use excessive force. I understand they are doing their job but it’s ridiculous to see a guy three times the size of a woman push, swing and punch someone. There are many reviews with similar situations occurring at this bar. I do NOT understand how the City of South Bend is not aware of the discrimination they have against women and use of excessive force they use at this bar. RIDICULOUS!
Rebel Jacob: Last night I saw a security guy hit a young lady three times. As a women, it is not okay to touch a women like that and shoved her out and punched her. I came here months ago and the same thing happened to my girlfriend with the SAME bouncer. This the guy who hits women in this Bar
Jeff Michaels: Would give zero stars if I could. Worst place in the world, basically if you are mexican or black you’re probably not getting in, bouncer is a racist d-bag. I hate this place so much that i could sit here and make multiple accounts just to leave awful reviews.
MariLuz: Worst, hurtful experience ever! Their board outside the door has a list of reasons one cant get in. I get that, a lot of places have a dress code. excessively sagging pants is one of them… but instead of applying the rules, its used as a form of discrimination.I drove 3 hours into town to visit family and have a good time with my boyfriend and cousin. As soon as we were about to approach the door I had my ID out with my cousin and boyfriend behind me. The Security points to my boyfriend (a darker hispanic) and says he is sagging and can not come in. The sign says excessively sagging. plus his pants were pulled up above his waist. He tried pulling them up even more , even though there was no reason for him too. Then the security said no they’re sagging and closed the doors in my face when i was politely telling him that makes no sense why we couldnt get in if hes not even sagging and we followed the dress code.Shortly after i waited a little ways off from the door to see if the same rules applied to others…. A black man and two hispanic men were sent away … then came some white men.. some sagging and some with their pants to their waist as my boyfriends , yet they were let in.Its sad to say we are in 2023 and yet business owners and their workers hold racism as a way to run their business, and discriminate against those that are not the same color as them.Would not go here. So much for a “landmark pub for students, alumni, Notre Dame fans, locals and tourists.”Your business should add into that line - “only if you are white.” RIDICULOUS
Joe Kopacz: My visit to Corby's Irish Pub was brief and intended as a quick nostalgia check. I'd been told the location was relocated from its previous location in the 1970s. This was indeed confirmed to be true.Upon entering, we noted all the bar space and tables were largely occupied, yet there was still plenty of space in the general areas and around the pool table. The noise level was not excessive, as we could hear individual conversations from people and the TVs playing. All areas were generally clean and there were no odd smells present. If I lived or worked in South Bend, I could definitely envision stopping by here for a drink and a hang out on occasion. Alas, I do not live in South Bend and was indeed just visiting for the weekend to take in some hockey. Corby's is indubitably a local institution, though, and under different circumstances would definitely consider visiting on a future return trip to the area.
Doug Hill: Fun, neighborhood / Notre Dame bar. Usually a younger crowd but lots of great energy and a great outside area to enjoy during the summer.
CLOWNLOVE BRETT: So there is black guy in the park lot harassing people for IDs before I enter the building great service
Kenneth Walden: Great environment, great service, excellent prices, amazing staff
Brian Fruchey: A hole with non-fancy drinks and food with lots of locals that support the Irish. Couldn't ask more of a bar.
Dave Woodson: After a long day of real estate networking it was a chill place to relax with some beer and pizza among friends but come game day look out
Dean Maravolo: Their pizza is awesome, their staff is amazing and Wednesday Karaoke is phenomenal.

The Cellar Wine Bar & Kitchen: what do users think?
Robby Rask: Very nice place for decent quality wine and food quite good. Pear salad excellent and shrimp and grits very fresh and spicy. Great place to share entrees and noise levels quite reasonable.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Pear Salad, Baked Bourbon Bacon Brie, Fresh Peach Salad, Wine Tasting, Big Poppa Flatbread …More
M: Drinks are a bit pricey, fine. We ordered the "pub board" for $15. It consisted of two reheated pretzel sticks, 8 microwaved andouille slices, and a cup of microwaved cheap cheese that split. If my wife served me this at home I would applaud her for being clever while cleaning out the fridge. Ill come back for the dog friendly patio but won't be ordering food.
Morgan OGrady: Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes CabernetMore
Lady D: Kaylee was amazing!
Tim Richards: Great atmosphere and our waitress was friendly and attentive. Food was on point and satisfying.Parking: Parking more by the park!
Toshia Hernandez: We had 5:30 reservations on a Saturday. Service was great, our waiter was very nice. The food was ehhh, my friend got served a salad with no dressing on it, then I was given a cup of pretzels because they had no side to go with my meal because they were out of their potato salad, at 5:30 on a Saturday. Was not offered a discount. I could have had pretzels and a sandwich at home. Our party of 4 was not impressed and would not return. I just felt like we were paying for the atmosphere.
Scott Moyer: Max and KK were excellent! Max made a phenomenal old fashion!!!
Dorian Yoder: What a fun little wine bar... and the max and kk was so friendly.. we will be back..
Doug Reese: Food and drinks were great…our bartender, KK, was amazing. Definitely going back…Recommended dishes Charcuterie, Baked Bourbon Bacon Brie …More
Amy Donaldson: Phenomenal atmosphere and food. Absolutely loved the menu. Music was great. A must try to anyone
Pamela Blackford: Great time and great service. KK was a great server!
Sydney Coil: Kaylee was a great server! Very knowledgeable about what was being served and had great recommendations — atmosphere was fantastic!
Rhonda Blanchard: Kaylee took excellent care of us tonight for Valentine’s Day dinner!!!! The tres leches cake was phenomenal!!! Thanks for having us!!!
Pascual Lopez: With a place called the cellar, you figured their reserved list would be better than their regular menu wine.... I think this place was meaning to be something and fell short of it. I must admit they have some good drinks here so kudos for that but have some stellar wine too if you're going to play the image of a wine bar.
Winnie Barefield: Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Tara Patterson: Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere. Cinnamon apple creme brulee for dessert was AMAZING!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Thoughts & Talks With Kia: This place is nice and has great people that work there. Jessica and KayKay was nice, funny and welcoming. The vibe was great!! Even Justin who told us about the wine (detailed) as we had a complimentary wine tasting. We can’t wait to go back.
Kate Alfrey: We wandered in after walking downtown tonight, and it was an AMAZING meal. The Italian salad was a great size to share for three people and the veggies were super fresh and delicious. We then shared three sandwiches among us, and they were all winners. Unique and classic at the same time and the flavors were absolutely on point. I think the pesto chicken was my favorite, but the steak chimichuri and turkey jam weren't far behind. My one complaint and the reason I dropped a star was because of the sandwich sides. They serve all sandwiches (the predominant menu item) with a side of pretzels. To be clear, I mean like Rold Gold twists, not anything fresh or made in house. While I love the idea of a non-fried side, and I think they would be a great offering among a couple, I have two big issues: 1) they aren't substantive, so they kinda feel like an afterthought on the plate, and 2) they don't really fit the vibe of everything else in the restaurant. Something like a fruit or a bean salad or slaw or something would make a lot more sense and make the entrees a lot more satiating. We will definitely be back to try more of the wines (there is a flight option I have my eye on for maximum sampling) and they have an extensive bruschetta menu that looks delicious.
Allison Lankowicz: The best wine bar in the area. The food is delicious and the owners are wonderful. They even have gluten free food options. Great place to hang out with friends and family!!
Cathy Scholz: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Mediterranean Board Appetizer, Charcuterie, Steak Chimichurri SandwichMore
John Grcich: Second time in a week; awesome. Split tasty shareable and creative salad; great value for two people….friendly folks, good service. GO!

The Garage Arcade Bar: what do users think?
Geneva Richards: This place is filthy and blows. Terrible service.
kaylee cunningham: My friends and I went for St. Patrick's Day it has good music, decent price on the drinks, and I really enjoyed the gaming lounge!
Rich Woodrick: Great fun on a Friday night. $5 to get in with a great 3 piece band playing. Really enjoyed playing my favorite arcade games from the 80s. No quarters required! I will be back
Tabitha Black-Scott: If the games weren't enough, awesome drinks and amazing music. 10/10.
Michael Salisbury: This place is great! They have just about every classic arcade game there and they're free to play! Definitely coming back again soon.
Jennifer Roth: 1st time there.. great atmosphere, great band ( super bike ) drinks kinda pricey but over all I will go back.
Jake Robertson: Fun atmosphere. Great drinks. Good selection of games.
Kara Reel: It was my first time being here since they've remodeled. We went because we wanted to play games and hang out. There was a $5 cover at the door, which isn't much, but we were not expecting to pay a cover. They also removed a LOT of the games, so there weren't many choices to choose from. We were overall a bit disappointed by the atmosphere change, we stayed for about 45 minutes and left.
David Rhoden: The staff was extremely rude
Sean Penny: Music! Good o'l Video Gaming! And Drinks!?!? What's not to Love!!!!?
Caleb Campbell: Fun place to play and bring out the inner 80's kid. Playing video games freely while you have a chance and cruising the place for good people and great conversations. Great staff and plenty of energy to turn your experience exciting.
Desert Eagle (50cal): Tasty drinks. Great band (Just Cause -Local). Cool environment. I'll be back!
Alejandra Aguilar: Great vibe and music. Like their drinks and beers.
Emily D: Unique place to visit! Lots to look at. There is a room off to the side to play video games/watch old movies on old TV's. Arcade games are in another corner and are fun to try! Great for a group or just a few people!
Jerry Roberts: Matt and the crew are great.
Atheon Scribe: Mortal Kombat 2 and booze! Good fun!
Troy Davidhizer: Great fun! Really cool atmosphere. Games are all free.
L Diaz: Cool little spot to have a beer and play throwback games.
Shelly Speakman: So much fun! Great time, we will be going back!
Doug Hill: What a fun bar! Free retro video games. Great beers and wines, and full bar. I believe the outdoor seating is dog friendly.
Bertrand Hochwald: Interesting place. Most arcade games are in various states of disrepair but generally playable. Beer taps are sometimes swapped, so you can't always be sure what your pour will be. Generally friendly.
