I had called ahead so Basil was expecting me, but I'm not sure he expected so much to look at. He was very friendly and was not at all shocked at how much I had brought. I was there about three hours, but it did not seem like three hours. He, his wife, his friend Nappy and I visited and shared stories. It was not like a business transaction. It was more like meeting friends. I knew nothing about the coins I had and Basil took the time to explain a lot to me about what to keep, what to auction, etc. I thought he was very fair on prices. In fact, I plan to take some more of my own items up there to see what he might be interested in as I downsize more of my possessions. Thanks Basil and crew for a fun morning

nate bragg: Please do your research if you have coins to sell. I had some $20 gold coins. Was offered $1215.00 when gold was right around 1570.00. From this dealer.Called and spoke with Michael at Caspers and was offered $1500.00 for the same coin. Guess who I sold to..Take the time. Make the phone calls, get a quote over the phone. I honestly was a bit speechless when the offer of 1215.00 was presented to me. Yikes!

Aaron Bullock: I have been a currency collector for well over 20 years. My grandfather passed his collection onto me leaving me with a healthy collection of ww2 and Cold War currency. I took a small collection of foreign currency and modestly priced non circulated American coins along with a imitation 5 shilling bill gifted to me by my stepfather to this location. They caught the imitation then offered me silver weight price for a 1986 silver dollar and weight price on the rest. The staff here are predatory and upon asking for grading service through pmg they suggested it was not within my budget which I highly doubt the grading company would approve of. Be prepared to negotiate strongly at this location.

Baptized 1985: I really don't know why there's negative reviews. I've been doing business with this shop over a year now, mostly as a purchaser. The premiums can be a touch high but I own two businesses myself and there's a cost to doing business or there wouldn't be one. You won't find premiums less anywhere else when you add in the fees, it's just being picky on $20 on a $2,000 purchase. I sold scrap gold and their offer was exactly spot per karet and I overpaid $100 before which the owner caught and honestly handed back. I would have missed it. For me it's a good shop and I prefer to support good business. I don't have to worry about any of my purchases as everything is legitimate and the only thing you have to decide is if what you're buying is worth what you're paying but that goes for anything. Don't expect to buy silver anywhere at spot as it costs way more for the supplier, retailer, and customer on delivery.
