Misha Conley: Horrible customer service, we had a defective sensor and tried getting ADT to come out to replace sensor was almost impossible. Had to speak with 15 different people and spend 8 hours of the day, being on hold, being transferred to many different people with no help. I would suggest another security company because anytime we call in it’s the same thing every time.
lauren corwin: We signed up with ADT with them knowing full well we were flipping a house and moving. We were told that wouldn’t be an issue and the people who purchased the home could then take over the contract and installments as they would be using the service. We don’t have the equipment or access to it. I called to make sure everything was taken out of our name. Spent 3 hours on the phone and got transferred no less than 8 times and hung up on twice with overseas representatives whom none of which gave the same answer, or didn’t have any answers at all. Was told we had to sign up to continue services through ADT Blue or would be charged over $2000 + $1200 equipment fees for early cancellation. We agreed to sign up for Blue to continue our services since that was the only option we were given and then were also billed over $4000 in charges. I tried to use the chat feature today and the representative was trying to pass the buck again stating she couldn’t access my account since we were using Blue ADT now. When I called her out she looked up my account easily and told me I was told I was being charged that amount - false! Once contracts are signed you can’t even re-pull them back up to review. Horrible customer service, sleazy if not also illegal business practices, and too much out sourcing. If you’re looking to work with an honest business this isn’t the one!
Justin Messer: Good service if you don’t mind paying the bill and pretending your building is secure. I’ve had this system for 14 months now and after several 45 minute trips to the location with and without a technician the lastest being yesterday it was operating less than 24 hours and is now down again. This is getting really old.
Troy Perkins: These guys are a bunch of desperate crooks. We cancelled our service over the phone and were told that it would stop immediately, as it should have. Later, we found that they continued to bill us for a whole other month. We refused to pay it, because the service was not active and we were not even living in the house any more. They eventually sent us to collections, so we ended up paying it just to not have to deal with it any more. I wouldn't use ADT in the future if my life depended on it. They are clearly getting their butts handed to them by more modern competitors like SimpliSafe and Ring, so they will put the screws to their customers and milk every penny that they can out of them to make a dollar on their way to bankruptcy.
PD Dance: We tried cancelling our service via the online account. It said we had to call to cancel by speaking with a representative. We called starting in September and each time we went through the prompts to cancel we were placed on hold with no option for a call back. Each time we were on hold for more than 30 minutes or longer until our schedules would not allow us to hold any longer. We called to talk to customer service to cancel our service, they said they were sorry but we had to go through the "right channel" to cancel our service, but we could try to use the chat on the app, and they offered to put us through to the proper department. This was the first time we received a call back offer after 90 minutes. In the mean time we tried the application chat. Even worse the chat asked want we wanted to do, we answered cancel our service. It asked for a reason, we answered, and it told us we could call to cancel the service and posted the hours. It asked if we needed anything else, we answered yes and it placed us in a line of 39 customer before it would help us again. We received a call back after 45 minutes, a person asked what we wanted to do, we said cancel our service, and they put us on hold again for approximately another 45 minutes. Another person came on and asked what we wanted to do, again they put us on hold for another 45 minutes. Finally a third person came on and we cancelled the service. Very frustrating, and because we could not conveniently cancel our service back in September we have to pay a prorated bill for an extra 2 months that we did not want.
Cory Lanning: Horrible experience, stay far far away from their contracts and faulty equipment. If there is any device issues good luck nothing is user friendly and plan on having hours of your time tied up on the phone to get it fixed. Terrible customer service. Fed up with it and I've lost enough money having to take days off for them to repeatedly fix the same issue. Canceled their services and got charged a 1300 some dollar cancelation fee, best money I've spend with them. They do have fantastic response times on events tho. Go with a system you have more control over without a pricey install and contract.
Jacob Ansell: Do not ever use this company!! My wife and I recently bought a home with an existing home security system. We were looking into setting up an account with them but after many phone calls and emails discovered there were many hidden fees that made it all feel like a scam. After we told them we did not wish for their service they sent out two salesmen to my house while my wife was home alone at 6:30 at night. I had asked them to leave and they did. Fast forward to this morning I go to leave my house for work and discover that the home security system which was said to be out of service, had re armed itself. We were unable to disarm it in any way until I had cut all the power cords. Calling ADT they told me, sometimes the equipment does that. So on top of the scams and unsolicited visits they are really going to try and say their systems have a known history of being able to disarm and arm themselves at random will? No, if i wasn't convinced before, I am now. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
Catherine Clements: Continued charging after service was discontinued. It was disappointing but I’m editing my review because after I posted this, I contacted the company using the email provided in their reply and they addressed my issue completely, sending me a full refund for the extra charges. They were very responsive and I appreciate it.
Tanyia Cornelis: This company took money out of our bank account without our approval for $562.97 after we canceled there service within the 3 day period in I have the proof now we are fighting with this company to get our money back plus the first mont of monitoring of $68.08. When we called them to cancel in the 3 day window they told us they couldn’t put the $68.08 back on our debit card because they took it off file well days later they took $562.97 out on that exact card they said they no longer had on file in they would have to mail us a check, then they tell us the check was mailed. So a manager called yesterday in said it was going back on the card we paid with well they all lie we still have not received our money back. So I filed a complaint with the BBB trying to get our money back in I have also filed a complaint with our bank in sent them our cancellation paperwork from ADT. SO WITH ALL THIS BEEM SAID DON’T TRUST ERIC IN SOUTJ BEN INDIANA HE IS A SALESMAN FOR ADT IN HE KEOT CALLING ME SWEETY IN I FAULT VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH HIM IN MY HOUSE.

Abraxas Smith: Do not do business with these people! We are moving into a retirement community and called to cancel our service and were told that we are under contract and if we cancel we owe over 600.00!! We never agreed to any contract after the initial one at the time of installation. They said it was a verbal agreement made over the phone which neither my wife or I EVER did. Now we are forced to get an attorney. These people are desperate money grubbers who don't mind ripping off seniors. BEWARE!UPDATE 10/17/20...I received an Email from ADT saying that our account had been cancelled. Thinking the matter was closed I returned to this forum and took down the negative review. Then, TODAY, we received a bill from ADT for 736.47!! A hundred more than the original representative said we owed!! This is reprehensible! I can not encourage you enough, if you are looking for a security system DO NOT CHOOSE ADT!!!
Arlene Bostic: I CALLED THE TOLL FREE NUMBER FOR ADT TO INQUIRE ABOUT AN ALARM SYSTEM. THE TECHNICIAN CAME TO MY HOME IN TWO DAYS - SET UP WAS COMPLETED. THE TECHNICIAN (JODIE) WAS EXCELLENT SO FAR WITH INSTALLATION AND EXPLAINING HOW IT WORKS AND VERY NICE IN HIS DEMEANOR. WE HAD ADT IN THE PAST AND CHANGED TO VIVINT WHICH NAME CHANGED TO NORTHSTAR AND HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND THEY CHARGED DOUBLE OF WHAT ADT CHARGES AND IN FINE PRINT WE LATER LEARNED WE WERE LOCKED IN FOR 4 YEARS.......... BEWARE!
Anne Kaufman: My install was complicated. I moved across country and given the pandemic had difficulty completing my relocation. I received good customer service when calling to reschedule or explain my situation. My install went smoothly and I appreciate my system!
Ariah Downey: So I was scheduled for an appointment weeks in advance, everybody I spoke to was super sweet and nice. But the installing tech got here and it just went horrible. He was sweet but he came in his own car. Not an ADT company car, then we find out the proper steps we not followed so he spent awhile on the phone. Then looked into installing and got everything set up, just for him to tell us he didn’t have a ladder. It wasted 2 hours of our time for nothing.. the guy was super nice... but the point is. It was an appointment I made in advance to get my system hooked up and he was not prepared at all for installing anything... debating on canceling and finding somewhere else before the next instal is supposed to happen
Just “P”: Horrible Experience! Tried to call in to talk to our installer for a question. Went and looped through several rounds of IVRs to come to the person still was not able to.
Jeffrey Petermann: What an absolutely horrific experience I just had. Calling to get pricing, and all Damarius, their customer service professional, did was tell me how horrible all of the competitors were, talked down to me because I would even consider simplisafe, Then when I told him I wasn’t going to do anything with him and give him my Social Security number until he gave me pricing, he demanded to know how many windows and doors I would be protecting and got progressively more belligerent as the call went on. If that is just the quoting process, I shutter to think what service after the sale looks like!
