Elizabeth Yunck: I just came from Michiana Tops. First of all, I had to call to find the place because the sign outside is for a warehouse, and there is no sign that says, "Michiana Tops." We are thinking about replacing our countertops in our kitchen, and I am just doing some initial research on pricing. I had measurements and pictures, but I had not actually drawn it out, which I was immediately scolded for. The man I met there was extremely condescending, correcting everything from my terminology to the fact that "laminate countertops are not measured by the square foot." I was just looking for some help...if I knew everything and could do it myself, I wouldn't have been there in the first place. My husband and I like to get the best price we can on things, but I would not return to such a rude and condescending man if you paid me to.

Unfortunately, the stone we picked was cracked and we needed to choose others. The staff was not very helpful and we were told again that we had to change another piece. Picking a stone is brain cracking exercise to us because this is our first remodeling project. When it was installed, the size was too big for my tiny bathroom. I asked the guy who came to measure if it was too big and what size look nice in this bathroom. He said his standard 1” overhanging.So we were disappointed. The staff referred the case to Zack and he listened to my case and allowed us to pick a new stone and install it for us without extra costs. He said happy customers is the priority for his business. We very much appreciate his action. It’s hard to find a shop who will put customer satisfaction first than profits. The tips when looking for stone at Zstone are (1) bring a tissue or cloth so that you can rub off the dust on the stone and see it clearly; (2) also check the leftover pieces at the parking area. They have way more different options than their displays; (3) talk to Zack if he is around at the shop. He is an artist and very knowledgeable about stone.
