St Joseph Circuit Court: what do users think?
Rwings73: Lost looking for traffic court, very helpful staff.
Glen Smarr: This is my second or third review for this and I keep thinking it will change for the better as it is prime time for police and judicial reform. I must admit my view became better after being in the court room of the 2nd floor December 2 2022. Both the judge and attorney were on the ball and considerate of everyone in the room of which they must have had near 80 cases to go through from traffic to drugs to everything. I could appreciate the seriousness as well as a bit of humor that would zip in and out. I ran into my friends brother who was an officer working in the court room. Both of the ladies who were working as recorder were also very nice and they received my concerns very well and quick to respond. One of the appointments was a bit loud and unruly, yet the officers handled with a firm but also respectful tenor. It was more pleasant than I had expected. The officers working the door are always nice and informative and the clerks also appeared to be above all, mindful. For not being able to perform in my cases that which is quote:" The Small Claims Courts were created so that you would have a speedy, reasonably inexpensive, uncomplicated means of determination of your claim. It is for your benefit. It is your right. Do not be afraid to use it."unquoteThat description couldn't be farther from the truth.Judges reschedule instead they tell you that you did not pay when you paid in full. Complicated, not nice, nor honest, hardly treated as a right, annoying and the reasons given has not been true nor speedy as in other cases where one would wonder, where did the partiality come from or was it there before the Plaintiff ever got to court. Considering a defamation of character claim where the defamation must have started at or quickly rose to the judicial level, it is not the correct venue. From personal experience to that witnessed in other cases, there is a clear indication where This inability to hear and perform actually puts the court out of its jurisdiction or incompetent itself. Perhaps it has crossed into fraud upon the court? The court would listen to one who implicates, who they later call incompetent. This too places the court itself in a position undesirable and should release the case to a court who can hear. Essentially, silencing the plaintiff by declaring the defense as incompetent kind of makes the court itself incompetent. The problem still abounds and rebounds with a court who listened to one implicate the other into a crime and when the implicated comes to correct the defamation and fix the errors they have assumed and retained, the conundrum begins.
OW SM: I'm certain I've left plenty review and they delete when they can't handle their own incompetence. If you plan on making mummies with cut out tongues do it as the death process do not start by lies and end with lies with SHUT UP sandwiched in the middle.16 cases and five years this judicial has done excellent work at denying due process , and hiding facts .They won't show the public the plaintiffs motions and arguments and only show the publicDENIEDDENIEDDENIEDDENIEDDENIEDWhen the very base of Justice requires a non partial tribunal and due process ...they give up jurisdiction when they can't do their job and follow througH AND KIDNAP THREE CIVIL CAS3S .1.MAKING THE ONE WHO IMPLICATES IN CRIMES AS TRUTH2.then turns that implicator as incompetent after the defamation has been sucked up by legal employees five years .3.This makes the court incompetent to do their job.4.instead of admitting the error the only word they can say isDENIEDfor 17 cases in a row and for five years.Smarr Glen will generate the three most recentWhat happened to life liberty pursuit of happiness in Indiana? Why delete reviews that promote justice? And reveal Abusive Injustice?agendas, conspiracy to deny rightss, fraud on the court
ManOMagik: Sucked that I had to be there, but it was an easy process.
Steve Rogers: Called the office regarding a legal matter not knowing May 3rd was considered a holiday and instead of having an automated message telling me that some old bat answered the phone and screamed "STOP CALLING". Glad my tax money is being used towards verbal abuse towards me.
Karen Squadroni: Sometimes the officers are nice. Sometimes rude no matter how respectful you are. Since cell phones are not allowed even in the foyer before you enter the building, and you can't go into the court with a defendant anymore they have a website where you can watch proceedings. I had no luck with that. It would nice if the instructions were posted on the outside door of lobby so officers won't feel need to get mad at people just trying to figure out how to log i in. The instructions don't work anyway
0Guiltyone0: Incompetent. Slow. And a waste of everybody's time.
JacQuilyn Lee: I was calling to inquire about information regarding the processing of documents however the ladies who answered the phone were extremely quick to say “it says the steps online” (repeatedly) and “I’m not sure” which I thought was odd and just very cold. You should definitely know your business and if you don’t, then pull the information up on the computer and put a little more effort in with trying to help. Nothing I was asking such as “which documents do I need to present” conflict with legal advice I’m simply asking what all paperwork/identification do you need prior to me making the trip? I understand you can read online but I wanted to speak to a human who works and understands the aspects of the process. I was left feeling uncertain and irritated. This institution should be about helping people and their community but their interactions say differently... I can’t imagine if I had more serious questions or issues what their response would be. clearly tired of their job Or maybe because it’s Friday..or maybe just stuck on autopilot which is very unfortunate.
JEAN SEVERNS: It was my lucky day! I live in FL & didn't know exactly who to speak with concerning personal legal documents that I need from many years ago. Fortunately for me Kim answered my call & was super pleasant from beginning to end. She was sharp & knew right out of the gate what I was talking about. She gave me the information I needed & then went above & beyond explaining step by step how to locate the dept once I was on the website. Thank you Kim!! Happy Valentines day to a real sweet heart!
Velvetena Chanell: No one ever answers the phone! I called 3 different times on 3 different days, and the phone literally rung for almost 2 minutes every time I call...I was better off driving the hour and a half away to ask the question rather than calling!
Casur Solais: Extremely racist towards blacks, I showed up to perform my civic duty and they assumed that I was there for a felon. The staff is very unprofessional and racist as well as rude.
S. Warren: The most UNHELPFUL bunch of people i have ever had the displeasure of working with! Rude, didn't give me ll the initial information i needed and send me on a wild goose chase between 3 buildings bc no one could give me a straight answer
Dustyberg: While the court part did a pretty good job of resolving some tickets they took forever to do so and several court dates. And when the lady tried to give us the number to pay online got rude and hung up on us while we looked for something to write the number on. If your in the line of work you need to be nice not rude. Even more so when half the people are going to be rude to you.
ChelseaRae Cloutier: When I went in to file my divorce, every person I talked to was friendly and helpful. They went out of their way when I was missing a form to make sure I still got everything finalized that day. Security was friendly and the judge was professional but kind.

St Joseph Small Claims Court: what do users think?
Kathi Lynn Kalinowski: The woman judge in small claims court blatantly ignored the federal law about eviction & COVID in order to go against me in an eviction that fit all the COVID criteria & the plaintiff had no problem w going along w the law. It’s women like her that contribute to making st joe county one of the worst county’s (statistically) to be a woman or a child in - in America. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.
Shelly Brew: Found out a pen I had with me was metal instead of plastic, when I went through the scanner at the door. The clerks were nice and helpful. The courtroom was nice. A few of us at a time, made it more comfortable. The proceedings moved along quickly and orderly.

Frankie Lester: I had an EXQUISITE time, and I'm not exaggerating. The food is FANTASTIC, I am not lying when I say that the food is absolutely top notch quality. The clothes are needlessly comfortable, its like you don't even have any on. Everybody is so kind and hospitable to a degree to even be able to reach a friendship with the guards and they make every second of your stay as enjoyable as possible. I was truly disappointed to see that my time was up as I knew I would miss the many hours spent playing card games and Monopoly with my fellow inmates. Would for sure definitely get arrested again. 6/5
don parcher: Only in the St. Joseph county probate court can a man be taken to jail, and forced to appear in court with out ANY grounds or evidence of wrong doing. In this court they dont have to prove youre guilty. You have to prove your innocent.
Chris Sherman: It is what it is.
