When I called to address this issue the person answering the phone got very defensive and stated “ I’m sorry you feel this way , we can’t please everyone “ , I will not be back and I highly recommend no one subject themselves to this place .

Cindy Scott: Dr. Schwalbe has to be one of the best doctors around and I don't know what has happened, but I am praying for him and his family. I hope he will be practicing in the area again.
Vladimir Lange: Our family loved Dr. Justin until he vanished. No explanation. We were just told by South Bend clinic he is no longer here. Ok? Geat! We’ve been going to him for 6+ years but now we have to establish care again for a family of six. Very disappointing!! Dr. Justin, if you read this please know we would like to continue using you if you are still practicing somewhere in South Bend area.
Tricia underly: Dr. Schwalbe was great. Would love to know where he went if it is local. He and I are BIG Disney fans and would always start out my appointment talking about our most recent trip to the parks. I will miss that immensely. Never had a doctors appointment that I looked forward to until him.

But then to be told it would be another month and a half to two months before we can be seen. No thank you.

We have had a wonderful experience with him caring for our daughter. Super friendly, thorough and a good sense of humor. Paul Szabo: Simply needed a chest x-ray! My Dr emailed me the script and I was having trouble downloading all of it. I stopped by Radiology to see if what I had with me was enough to get the x-ray. The lady behind the dest for Radiology check in was absolutely no help. I tried explaining my reason for being there and needed help with my scrip. All she kept telling me was "what do you want me to do". I guess helping was out of the question!!! Never going back to this place.
George Garner: While individual doctors and staff are surely not worthy of this rating, the difficulty of making appointments and navigating archaic systems is incredibly frustrating. I'm finding myself waiting days upon days for a callback, only to be bounced to another department, only to have to wait more days. As I write this, I've spent well over a week just trying to make an appointment to deal with a pain issue. This is far, far too long, and far more frustrating than it should be.I would highly recommend avoiding them until they're able to get new systems in place that are more user-focused and friendly.

Bryttni Verhaeghe: Was told to be 20 mins early for an 8am appt as I was a brand new patient, stood in an empty waiting room until 8am when a man finally came to the desk to start checking people in. After my appt, I needed to do some lab work and decided to just use their lab as I had already been fasting and it was right there. The lab staff was not rude but did not try real hard to be overly friendly and really just rushed to shuffle everyone through. Called today with a question for the lab, the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude, treating me as though I was a complete inconvenience for a 30 second phone call. She answered snarkily and then answered my question with "it doesnt matter" and when I said said thank you she quickly said "yea." and hung up. While I was pleased with the Dr I saw and plan to return to see her, I wont be using their lab services again.
Jeanne Brownell Mullet: "Just work on crutches" is what they said after coming in for a severely sprained ankle. Lady, have you ever used crutches before? How am I supposed to CARRY STUFF?!? Like, most people NEED to do for work. Backpacks/bags aren't allowed into my workplace due to security, and I still can't walk at all 2 weeks later. I literally can't do my job without carrying stuff. All I got was a doctor's note for like 3 days off and a a request for me to be able to sit at work. My work accepted it for a short time, and let me do limited duties, but urgent care won't fill out a form from HR so I can continue sitting and not carrying stuff, which I absolutely have no hands to do on crutches. They want to reexamine me so I can be charged a second office visit to tell me my ankle is still sprained. Like that's gonna change somehow. Greedy money hogs.This is what happens when you employee uneducated, untrained medical scribes to take patient histories (I was one lol, zero school and zero training required). I finally followed up at my primary doctor, 9 weeks after I sprained my ankle, it's still messed up. My doctor read that the scribe at urgent care wrote down I tripped over "a block" (like a children's toy) and "rolled" my ankle. No wonder why they scoffed me out of the office when I went back to have work accommodation forms filled out. No I tripped over a PARKING BLOCK not a toy, and I landed on the TOP of my FOOT.
Becky Banks: Brought my son in who was breaking out in boils. Has a history of MRSA.Doctor Binkle/Bunkle came in and was absolutely the worst,coldest, most selfish doctor I have ever encountered.Didn't even physically touch my son, no temperature was taken to see if he had a fever with the infection. Was more concerned my 2 year old TOOK MY KEYS TO KEEP BUSY AND TOLD ME NOT TO LET HIM DO THAT BECAUSE HE COULDNT HAVE HIM SCRATCH THE FURNITURE. My son then was crying and he didn't even raise his voice so I could hear what the plan was to treat this infection. Just talked over him. Sent a prescription to a pharmacy already closed and told me to re evaluate him in a week if it wasn't gone. Absolutely atrocious care and I will not be returning to this location and will be calling his boss and complaining that was as well.
Cayla Rivera: Toni at the front desk was great, very sweet and polite. She bumped it up a whole star herself. Everyone else acted very uncaring and like I was wasting their time. Wouldn't recommend unless you have very obvious cold symptoms and need antibiotics or something. Especially dont recommend if you don't have insurance. If I had to pay $100 to be told what i already know, like today, i would have been livid.

Anna Magdalena Christianson: Went this morning for treatment for 2nd degree burn. I am accompanied by a service dog. I was told the doctor was "terrified of dogs." The nurse asked if she could take the dog so the doctor could see me. My husband was in the waiting room so I had him sit with my service dog. This sounds like no big deal, but being separated from my service dog was extremely distressing for me. Not only that, but the request to remove my dog was illegal. I knew this but feared that I would be denied service if I did not do so. A service dog can be asked to be removed if it is not housebroken or is not under the handler's control. According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, fear of dogs or allergies are not legitimate reasons to ask for removal of a service dog. I let the doctor know I was upset. He responded that if I did not want him to take care of me I could go somewhere else. While I do see several doctors at South Bend Clinic, I will never use their Immediate Care service again. Some people have had wonderful experiences. For people with disabilities, particularly when accompanied by a service dog, I would recommend going elsewhere. The nursing and office staff, however were nice. The doctor I saw was a Male named Sohair Aleem.

Dominique Edwards: I received 3 calls back to back from Beacon regarding rescheduling an appointment for Dr. Kinney for my stepson's appointment that I missed in the span of 30 minutes. The receptionist that I was finally connected with was absolutely terrible and rude. When I told her that I was returning the office's call, she stated very rudely, "you requested a call back. What is it that I can do for you?" Now, I'm not sure if this receptionist was drunk, stoned, or just didn't want to be at work but the way she spoke to me from start to finish was absolutely awful. According to the Beacon website, Dr. Kinney had a number of available appointments, when I called back, Dr. Kinney doesn't have any appointments, isn't accepting new patients, and I was recommended to set an appointment with the Nurse Practitioner. After working to find my stepson resources, I finally found Dr. Kinney and was happy and excited to hopefully be a new patient, but after dealing with reception, and receiving the customer service, I have 0 desire even seeking care from Beacon on Ireland Road. When I asked the receptionist if they would be updating the website, she said rudely again, "We don't even have control over that and I don't know." Ma'am, if you don't know, that's fine, but tone of voice and attitude can go a long way when it comes to putting someone's mind at ease that has a potentially sick child. I can't even imagine panicked parents, with sick children trying to seek care through the Ireland Road branch and can't even get basic questions answered from reception. I would give 0 out of 5 stars if possible.

Even had them on line with my insurance company while I waited could get correct code waiting on a call back but not much faith on that. They have said that several times before and here we are.

Well, I just learned that nothing was done and now I have a court order to pay for it.Liars, liars and liars.And, needless to say, it now shows up on my background check and credit report!

James Kauzlarich: Gertrude Mumba-Kaunda is a horrible Nurse Practitioner. Rude. Asks questions, then keeps talking. Does not listen. Orders tests etc. without talking to you about it, or even telling you.
Judy Spitler: I would not trade my medical care here for anything! My condition can be challenging, and it's being successfully treated here. They are doing with me what Beacon and St. Joseph failed to do. Dr. Mumba is patient, thoughtful, caring and thorough, as well as kind. The staff is always friendly, professional and welcoming. I'm so glad I tried this place!

Susan Kay: Local, outpatient multi-specialty health clinic, onsite Lab, no X-Ray. Centrally located, great parking, 8 - 5 hours.I've had stellar, caring service from GP's, NP's, and treatment staff. Front office is friendly, helpful and efficient, waiting time is minimal, the facility cleanliness is terrific. Everyone I've met here is professional and caring. Would highly recommend to family and friends. Wish they had extended or weekend hours!

I now have to call over and over til they feel like picking up & ask for a referral to be sent again bt they'll probably will need him to come in again for an appointment so wait another month in order to do that & this whole thing has just set back my son from starting school & being diagnose & further back on a wait list by months!

Anjanette Noe: Everyone was super nice & caring! Got us right in & I was seen very quickly! This is the only urgent care I go to! Great job everyone!

Kayla Drach: Physicians Immediate Care was so great! They were one of the only urgent care centers in the area open on Easter Sunday and they were very efficient with all patients. Tracy Mitchel was very nice to work with, knowledgeable and helpful. The front desk staff were also so pleasant and worked very hard to reduce wait time and get patients in and out the door.

Amy M: I have taken my son here for 2 broken arms (one year apart) and my mom for a broken ankle- all spanning over the last 8 years. But yesterday was for me.When I arrived I was in pain. My Advil must have been wearing off and suddenly I was in a terrible state and really couldn't function. As I was sitting in the exam room waiting to be seen, I suddenly had stabbing ear pain. I was there for a strep test. I had been exposed several times at my work with small children (strep running rampant) and I had all the signs. I had a fever, aches, my skin hurt to touch, throat so sore and red, it hurt to swallow, glands swollen to where you couldn't see jaw bone, etc. Now, I was also nauseous. Long story short, after my exam the doctor or Nurse Practioner offered me a choice to have an injection of antibiotics and a syringe of oral steroids if I wanted. I said absolutely! They also gave me some meltaways to put under my tongue for nausea. I could barely drive home but I did. I went straight to bed in full sweatshirt and pants and my fever was 102. I slept for 3 hours and woke up sweating like crazy. I had broken the fever. I awoke and felt 50% human again, just 3 hours later.I am so grateful to the doctor/Nurse Practioner for going above and beyond. While I can't remember being this sick for a very long time, I have never been offered more than the standard oral antibiotic for 5 or 10 days. I should mention that I am also continuing with an oral antibiotic as well, prescribed as part of my treatment. BUT, I feel the extra interventions that were given to me in the office yesteday were pivotal for me feeling better and boosting the healing process. It turned out that I had strep throat and a double ear infection. I am not 100 % and it's only 24 hours later, but I'm probably 65% better and no pain. I'm so grateful! Also, you can make your appointment online. I waited only 10 minutes in the waiting room. My wait was because they couldn't find my check-in (which I did from home) on their computer. Turns out I made my appointment for the following day but they took me anyway! Thank you so much! I HIGHLY recommend.And on a side note- regarding the previous families broken bones. All 3 times we had to follow up with an orthopedic doctor and all 3 times they were always very happy with the way the bones were set or in the ankle case, not set and rather a very supportive boot prescribed by Physicians Urgent Care.

Megan Therrien: I almost missed my appointment! Got there in the nic of time! I was able to walk in and go straight to the exam room. The lady that took my vitals was personable and thorough. And the provider, she was awesome! Kind compassionate, knowledgeable all around pleasant soul. I had been having a rough day on top of running late and being sick. Unexpectedly, This Dr. Visit definitely lifted my spirits!I was in and out so quickly, got meds to take care of my sick at home (hopefully, looking good so far) instead of acquiring an ER bill! She even understood what I was asking for when I couldn't get the words out! I've got anxiety and she's got great people skills.If I could have Erin Brick (I think that's right) as my Primary I would never dread Dr.'s visit again.Keep up the good work! You guys are so very very appreciated!Overall 10/10 will recommendWill definitely drive the 25 mins if needed, to be treated with the respect understanding and care that I was.Thank you Urgent Care Team!!!

Michael Mason: Can't get medications renewed. Have to call 4-5 times. I have no idea what is going on for me to have to get my scripts renewed. Ended up switching doctors
Anonymous Informant: I just called for the fourth time this week requesting a medication refill. The second time I called, they stated it would be rushed & completed that day, which it obviously wasn't. Not a single apology has been given by the staff for their error.I was also supposed to have a follow-up appointment 6 weeks after my last visit. When I went to schedule, the front desk said they were in the middle of a system update & would need to call me later to schedule. Of course, they never called & now they can't fit me in for several more months.Fingers crossed that Dr. Sharp (who is excellent) finds her way to another practice soon so we can all leave behind the mess that is South Bend Clinic.
Tim Lamborn: Sad, very sad, that you have to wait 45 minutes on the phone to try and schedule an appointment to see a doctor. I eventually hung up and now looking for another primary care physician.
Michelle Pont: My elderly father was having a severe problem with itching over the weekend. On Sunday called the office and spoke to someone, very helpful, who gave a message to the on-call Dr, who was Dr Kaufhold. He was AMAZINGLY EXCELLENT. Was concerned, compassionate and in no rush. Called in a prescription for my dad. HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR KAUFHOLD. The clinic itself is an extremely busy one, and it takes too long in my opinion to hear back on a general basis. No bad experiences with staff though, other than their call center. After answering what seems like 25 questions every time you call, you can carry on with the reason you called in the first place.
Amy Radke: Had an appointment with Dr Weston today. Went to the desk and told the receptionist I had an appointment so supposedly she checked me in. I went and sat down and watched everyone come and go. Next thing you know a hour had passed by and I’m still sitting there! And they are getting ready to close. So I went to a different receptionist and ask her why was it taking so long. She checked her computer and it said I was never checked in at all! Wasn’t very happy!And forgot calling them and talking to anybody! Disappointing!Although I have to say I have been going to Dr Weston for a long time and I absolutely love her!
Chase Trzaskowski: Absolutely deplorable service. Was seen same day by a dr and told I was going to be getting a prescription. 40 min after the appointment I went to the pharmacy to pick it up and they hadn’t even gotten. Ok well I’ll wait a little while longer. Tried again 2 hours after that and they still had no knowledge of it. Called here to talk to my dr about it and some rude nurse told me she would send a note back and call me once it had been filled. Well it’s now been 7 hours since my visit. No meds to take because guess what they still haven’t put my prescription in and it is now after hours. Called the after hours line and got sent to voicemail. So if you want to have terrible service and still be sick even after going to the drs. This is the place for youUpdate: After calling the office again and getting patched through to the after hours lady she was very helpful and assuring that she would do everything she could to get it filled. I’m not sure if this lady was a nurse or just someone who answered phones but she did more for me over the phone in 20 min than I was helped all day. So thank you to the phone lady and the dr. On call for finally getting me taken care. Still jumped through way too many hoops to get a prescription that should have been sent in after my visit

Shikha Sinha: This clinic just tries to force Doctors on you and not let you have a say in your own healthcare choices.I just moved from out of state and upon asking a few neighbors, zeroed in on Dr. Elizabeth Weston as my PCP. I looked up my insurance provider directory and she is in network with us and is accepting new patients. Called her number to establish myself as a new patient and was told that she is not accepting new patients- just relatives of already established patients. I was referred to Dr. Sharp or Dr. Justin Reed who are accepting new patients.I was not ok with them because I am looking for a MD who is a female for self. Upon requesting, the gentleman was nice enough to understand that I have just moved here, don't have any relatives in the area, and put in a request to accept me as a new patient. I was told that someone will call me to confirm that I was accepted in the next hour or so. This was Dec 2nd. Today is Dec 13th. Since I didn't hear back, I called back again today.I was told that Dr. Weston has referred me to Dr. Sharp- who is a DO. They kept switching between Dr. Sharp and Dr. Reed. None of them will work for me because I need a MD who is a female.I can't believe how broken our medical system is because of whimsical decisions like these. She definitely has the bandwidth to accept new patients- but they have to be relatives of her established patients. She will not consider an out of state patient that is trying to get settled in a new place.I do not have any underlying issues, so it is not that I would show up in the clinic every single day, but speaks volumes about the decisions people make when they are in a situation of authority.
Claude Butnaru: Absolutely horrible experience. I had an appointment with Dr. Sharpe. Her nurse was incredibly rude and arrogant. First visit this Doctor which was supposed to be my family Doctor from now on. I just came out of the hospital with pancreatitis and a bad liver they prescribed a limited amount of painkillers. The Doctor made me feel like I was begging for painkillers or something, she refused to prescribe any medications of any kind. She said I should go to pain management, I said what about till then because I'll probably end up in the hospital again, her reaction was oh well.. screw you. Useless! I will never go there again ever!!

Jen H: Wow. Never have I seen such rude nurses. First nurse used a nickname to call a patient back and then was rude to him because he didn’t know she meant him. My nurse was rude about literally everything. And then a nurse came out to get another patient sitting across from me in the waiting room and asked if I was his mom. Dude was a full grown adult. And maybe some of us can’t have children and find that to be super insensitive and rude. Sensitivity training could be used here. Just go to another location. No need for staff to make you feel worse when you already don’t feel well.
Bennett Blazo: Been going there for the last 8 years and have always been satisfied with my experience. Great Staff and doctors.Update: Impossible to talk to someone, while my doctor is amazing. How am I supposed to follow up with a voicemail if I can never talk to someone? Why is it that I leave a message for my doctor VIA their option and never hear back? I'm not sure what has happened, but I'm leaving once my doctor retires.
Brittany File: If you need a prescription: MAKE SURE THEY SEND YOUR SCRIPT OVER BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE OFFICE.Repeat: DO NOT leave the office until you have verbal confirmation that it was sent to your pharmacy of choice.Being on hold for over an hour to just speak to someone is one thing, but wasting an hour at Costco with a crying baby is another while waiting for a script to be sent over while no one at the office can even be reached is another.

However my grandson has been a patient for nearly four decades and after what they've done to him and in turn us, I recommend finding a Dr. elsewhere for your own sake and for the sake of your children! You should be ashamed of yourselves! His Dr. should no longer be allowed to practice and should be in prison! Absolutely despicable Dr. Brian Carter and South Bend Clinic! They've even somehow deleted his 100% accurate review on here! Maybe the news would be a better venue? Everyone should know exactly what's gone on here, for how long its been going on and that at this point there appears to be no end in sight!

Jared Olson: I called to make an appointment with my doctor and was told that I was no longer a patient because I hadn’t been to see my doctor in a few years. The clinic never called me to make me aware of this or to schedule an appointment before dropping me as a patient. All this happened during the middle of a pandemic too. I’m never using South Bend Clinic for anything again.
E Leigh: Sadly I did not have a great experience at this facility. Maybe it was just my doctor, but I've never felt so unwanted in a doctor's office. I'm there to seek treatment for issues I'm having, but felt my doctor had no time for me nor wanted to deal with treating me for anything. I had more bedside manners from the front desk staff than the doctor or her nurse. Thankfully I was able to get back in with my old doctor at Elkhart Clinic who actually cares about her patients.
Jamie Porter: The doctors are fine but good luck getting ahold of anyone at that office. If you enjoy being on hold for 45-60 minutes, you’ve come to the right place! Love playing phone tag with your doctor? You’ll love it there. (How busy can a doctor be, really. My dentist calls as he’s walking to his car at the end of the day. Now that’s a good doctor.) Want a nurse to call you back? Nope, sorry. Want answers of any kind? Look elsewhere. Ridiculous. Hire more people or something. One should not be on hold for 45-60 minutes and then never get a call back!
Yumba Luvarro: I had the WORST experience with a nurse named Lindsey she was absolutely disgusting to work with. I explained how I suffered a miscarriage recently and was ready to start my regular medication regiment and how I just was nlit in the mood for the back and forth the clinic was putting me through. She said “ok well when we stop playing the blame game maybe we can move forward“ I stated how rude she was being for no reason and how I’d just like to make my appointment and move forward and she stated that I needed to calm down before I could be helped! Excuse once again how rude and I said no I’d like to just get this over with and she said that is no longer an option and hung up! How absolutely Repulsive NEVER GO HERE If you care about your health or remote good empathic care.
