Shane McGee: Hired him to install a drywall ceiling in the basement where I had a drop ceiling. He said he couldn't remove the drop ceiling, so I did that. Wanted $1800 for the job but made NO MENTION at all that I would have to buy materials. I have NEVER called a contractor for a job that did not provide their own materials (and include that cost in the bid) i take vacation, drop my ceiling myself and have a half destroyed home before he shows up and then says he won't do it without charging me more for materials. If you don't provide your own materials, you need to say so up front and make sure it is clear with people that they need to buy them.
