Truck Driver Institute: what do users think?
Dalton B: Very fair testers, great over all experience testing.
Colin Rickard: I wouldn't recommend coming to the south bend indiana school . They have no one on the range really helping the students my Class had to help each other out and the director was cocky when you're trying to learn to drive and Darius oh my God! Don't know how he can still be their teaching when 90%he's all ways unprofessional and rude/cocky to his students I highly recommend staying far way and go somewhere else to get the proper training you need
Travis Bays: Was ok. Kevin, Matt, and Rodney were great instructors. The range sucks. Covered in potholes. Hard to maneuver if you’re not familiar with driving. Lee doesn’t listen and will say you didn’t say/do things that you did in fact do. Then he’ll say that’s his “teaching practices” is saying you didn’t say or do something you did. But he’ll still mark you off on your finals for it. Not that it really matters. They teach you to pass a test. That’s about it. You won’t learn coupling trailers nor 90 degree backing. Which will be 99% of your day to day job. Overall had fun, and the complaints I have were out of the instructors control. They can’t purchase better equipment nor can they make the lot any better. The owner or whoever tries to “grade” the lot but doesn’t know what he’s doing. So he just makes deeper and taller holes. The cones and ropes are all messed up and misaligned. They’re short staffed. So; if you have experience plan to do some teaching. My biggest complaint is the truck you test in as a manual driver you can’t drive til the last 2 days. Which is really annoying but, whatever I guess. I recommend going to Ivy Tech or other schools with nicer lots to drive in.Kristina, Joe, and Seles (not sure how to spell) went out of their way and bent over backwards when I needed it. They are great people and will do whatever you need to help you on your journey. As I said before, the complaints I have were out of these individuals control.
Kavita Patel: I wish I could give this place 0 reviews. This place is so, corrupted starting from the recruiter's, office staff, the owner, to the instructors. I wish I could also mention names. I have not seeing such a corrupted school like this. Discrimination is at its best. I had so many problems with this company, that, I had to get a lawyer to open up all the issues. And, so many students complain throughout the school. Their truck condition are also not up-to-date. One of the trucks has a lawn chair on the passenger side.
James Liggins: School is poorly operated and you only get mediocre training. Staff is rude with a smile! Training vehicles and range are extremely poor and out dated. The recruiters are pupets and full of lies. Definitely better schools with a higher quality training!Stay away!
aaron thompsomn: Dave the tester at tdi was very awesome and understanding and will work with you I highly recommend this place and he will show you what you done wrong and how to fix the situation
Richard: It’s a good school and they wanna see you succeed ,but they definitely need more instructors on the range there’re severely understaffed, so your best bet is to listen to the instructors when you get the one on one time and don’t expect to be babied here It’s a very Straightforward program,if you pay attention and stay motivated you’ll pass your CDL test
King Deft: Just graduated with a high score! I want to thank the staff and students that helped me along this journey. A special shout out to Darius and John for the extra care they showed me when I needed it. The school definitely gave me valuable information. Priceless. I hope everyone who attends this institution has the same experience I did. Thank you again.Cordially RichieGraduate 12/30/21
John Schmidt: I’m a recent graduate of TDI South Bend Indiana, and I’ll say I had a great experience there.I’ve already been hired by a reputable national carrier and I couldn’t be happier.I’d like to personally thank the classroom and driving instructors John, Dan, Darius, Mike and Pete. They gave me the knowledge and tools to pass the state pre trip and driving test no problem.Recruiter Mike, and all the front office staff were 💯 %Great as well. So, in closing, I highly recommend this school, and I’m grateful to everyone there.John Schmidt.
John Quill Jr: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI’m in week three of school it’s been amazing great instructors met allot of cool people among the last 2 weeks definitely recommend
David Shore: Took my CDL skills test and road test. Yhe examiner, Dave, was upfront about what was expected
Us and Them: The instructors at TDI are amazing. They all know what they are doing and are amazing teachers. Curt makes backing really simple and easy for anyone to understand. They not only teach you things you need to know for the DOT test, but they also teach you skills that you’ll use out on the road. I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to get their CDL
Gayle VanDeventer: I only went for the CDL driving test. That building is separate from the main training building. My rating is only for the testing building, it needs some lipstick! :-)
OnTheRiseWith CandyceEvette: Great school just wasn't the trade for me.
Ray MacLean: The instructors are all so knowledgeable and always ready to help. They set you up for success every step of the way.
Jeff Mvalo: I recently graduated from TDI (09/14/2020) Chris and his staff of trainers -- Curt, Ryan, Ron, and Dan are the best in the industry. These guys genuinely want you to pass your exams and want you to go out there and start making your money. I was happy to leave and sad at the same time as I had become close to the staffThank you for all the training and knowledge guys.-Jeff
jTwitch mvalo: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Gwendolyn Williams: Great business meeting!
Jamie Wesseler: Chris and his staff of trainers -- Curt, Ryan, Ron, and Dan -- have to be the best in the industry: professional, patient, caring, dedicated, and fun-loving. I am so fortunate to have had their guidance/leadership to help me acquire my CDL. You will not find a better CDL school. To the prospective student: Listen to the instructors at every instruction; do not waiver from their directions. You will be wasting your time to "do as you feel it should be done." Do as they say and you WILL acquire your CDL. Everything is on campus -- the DOT physical, trucks, driver qualification testing. It is the complete, incredible package deal... beginning with, in my experience, Celeste and Cristina in the front office and recruiting. A better option for CDL training does not exist. Thanks to all of you at TDI South Bend for your work and dedication to me... and, most importantly, your friendship.
Alida P: The best thing I ever did was get my CDL at TDI, all of the instructors are kind and awesome at their job and make you feel comfortable, They understand that your new to this and walk you through it step by step it was a great experience. Im thankful for TDI and All of the instructors.
Monzella Smith: TDI was the best choice I could have made for getting the training I needed for my CDL class A license. I trained with a trucking company many years ago, and the training was good. But with TDI, they were not only thorough; they were patient, understanding, did whatever it took to get us trained, and they were caring and fun to train with! I highly recommend training with TDI South Bend, IN. I also love the fact that after training, you're a free agent and go anywhere you like! You're not stuck in a contract with any one trucking company. It was worth every dime.

Ivy Tech Community College South Bend-Elkhart: what do users think?
Gerald Huntington: My nephew goes to school here and he tells me he loves it.
Heather Smyrh: I would give no stars if I could. I had to withdraw due to a diagnosis medically that required me to relocate. I was about a week late from the withdrawal period and I was told to do a late withdrawal request. I completed this and they stated that I didn’t withdraw in the time period that I had even though I wasn’t diagnosed until after the drop period. What is the point of having late withdrawal requests when it wasn’t approved. I got good grades, but I attended this college and did not have any other issues so there was no reason that I can see that they would’ve declined this as this was for a medical only reason. This college states that they are student focused and for the students, but they are not, nor do they represent the community in a positive way. In my instance house again, I medically needed a drop. Clearly all they want is to collect their money as I have to continue to pay for the class that I dropped. They are not person, centered or student focused, and the administration should feel shameful. Do not go to this college.
Kevin Couvillion: Great looking campus with everything in one main structure. Lots of nice areas to study and just hang. Looking forward to the journey.
Janis Wilgus: My son travels a house to get to this school. The teachers in the automotive department don’t do a good job of teaching and sometimes the classes are canceled because of a low turnout of students. One teacher, according to my son, talks about his life and she’s no actual teaching. It’s a waste of time for my son to attend this school. Plus, you can’t get ahold of anyone or even the so called advisor. What a joke if a campus.
DaDon Nito: I had the Best tour of my life, although brief it was an amazing experience 🙌 ✨️
Howard Whetstone: Had a great time doing some community service work today at Ivy Tech.
Olethea Ramsey: 5 star customer service at bursers office!
Not Blank: Don’t take classes with Cole Keller. He will waste your time and money. He will lie and try to get you to schedule more classes because he gets paid by how many attend his class. I will never recommend anyone to take classes with him.
Better Merchants: There is no better place for small businesses to find everything they need to effectively market their companies.
Kara Tucker: I went to tour the school for potential interest in enrollment and a security guard there was insanely invasive and rude and offputting as if I were walking around a restricted place that wasn't allowed to the public he asked a million questions and even made a demand of how long i needed to be finished before he would assert authority mind you I was only here five minutes and had walked straight to the ladies room hadn't even began to make my way to admissions or reception. However after that embarrassing and demeaning encounter I went to the office and spoke with the ladies there who were very helpful and friendly and apologetic for the rude security officers behavior. If it wasnt for the ladies I wouldn't even feel comfortable going back for a tour at all let alone considering enrollment here!!!
Danielle Bures: The worst higher education institution I have ever seen in my life and I worked in higher education for several years.
brainbleach error404: All of the good I might have had here, is overshadowed by all of uncaring unprofessional faculty that didn’t even help/teach most of the time or took up to 6 months to respond to just one of my emails sent to them . Also the Elkhart campus was so empty, so void of life that it was actually unsettling at some points. All of this wasn’t worth going in debt for…thank you, ivy Tech. for giving community colleges a bad name.
Mario Rosa: Very poor communication process. Almost impossible to speak to a real person. Once you find someone they tell you they cannot help and refer you back to the website which is not very user friendly. No wonder institutions are losing students. You have decided to embrace the electronic age when students and parents are making one of the most important decisions of their lives and they are relegated to countless numbers of electronic mail boxes. Poor, Poor, Poor customer service!!!
Whitney Kyles: My friend has had nothing but problems since she’s been enrolled. Flat out zeros for turned in work and I’ve turned in similar work and got credit. No help from the professor, advisor, or anyone else. Have to email repeatedly to even get a response. Give your money to a school who deserves it! This one isn’t it.
Dee R: My son attended his first semester here. The turn over rate has been really hard on a new college student such as my son who has not had reliable guidance or even 1 stable person to go to for help or resources. I'd love to change this review, there are some really nice people who work here but there is NO support for new students and it has been the most discouraging thing to set any student up for success.
ariana Huggins: Love the people and the shop teachers
da mdo: Dental Clinic at South Bend Campus is a great place to have a thorough cleaning performed by students under strict supervision. This is a great program and the services provided are superior than any Dentist, I am confident of that statement.Never has my Dentist spent the time, diligence or explanations the hygienist spent on my visit. And her work was supervised every step of the way.....who's supervising your Dentist? They had a Dentist, Radiologist and Doctor at the clinic...bam, bam, danmI am a fan of this program and paying $20.00 is a bonus!!!
Google User: This school itself isn’t bad but the welding instructor Cole Keller makes this school look bad. I would recommend finding a different instructor. They have some great ones that actually get in the booth with you and show you what your doing right/wrong. Cole just cuts you down when you have a question, he doesn’t teach. I had a great instructor in Elkhart but in south bend not so much.
A: Waste of time and money
Davis Obiax: Learning experience was not bad. But the amount of misinformation on financial support is ridiculous. I spent months to try to get the balance cleared and still not done.Guess I’ll just have to pay the balance I had no idea of so the collector will stop calling me.I don’t think I’m even gonna bother to return.
Jose Calderon: Great staff Great class
