Anthony: A wonderful garden center with great prices on plants. Everything looked vibrant and healthy. The staff was very helpful. Someone greeted me when I arrived, which was nice. She didn’t have all the answers to my questions so she was able to quickly radio someone for assistance and that staff member was able to answer all my questions.I came in just 15 minutes before closing, and yet, not once did they rush me even though we had gone 10 minutes past closing by the time I left the garden center. There are a lot of large trees on site. They had all the varieties I was looking to find. Suggestions were made to look at some mature trees at their tree farm just down the road. I’ll be heading over there this week. Overall, such a great experience! Thank you 😎

vora Mai: I give it a one star because on my way to make a purchase (2 Evolution Hydrangeas) a staff member walked right past me and HOCKED A BIG LOOGIE on the bushes next to the doors leading into the shop. He did not give two F's who saw him or heard him. Very disgusting, very disrespectful to the plants and customers. What if the customers brought his spit home from purchasing those plants??! This is unfortunate because my yard is undergoing a massive makeover, we have been planting all sorts of trees and shrubs from other garden shops and was so excited we found this one. I don't think I'll be coming back here.

I will be visiting more often to see what treasures I can find! I plan to use my August Bucks to buy a Gnome I am in love with. Take your time, walk slowly, enjoy the beauty. It's like a mini botanical garden!

Morgan E.: We had a wonderful experience with Mitchell and Son's Nursery Center. We first used them to draw up plans for our landscaping, which included a home visit where the landscaper listened to our preferences and then suggested plants based on that and the growing conditions of our yard. We had several rounds of questions for them, and they never tired of providing us the information we needed to make the best decisions for us. From there, we decided to use them to source the recommended plants and deliver them for a very reasonable fee. We could not be happier with how everything turned out and HIGHLY RECOMMEND this business to anyone. A great place, with lovely, friendly people working there.

Sheila Le: I was amazed by this local nursery tucked away in South Bend. They have a little greenhouse and a big outdoor area. They sell indoor and outdoors plants. They also have trees. The prices were very reasonable. I bought a ZZ plant for 20 dollars. The employees were nice and super helpful. I recommend visiting!

Laura Bowler: When looking through the tiny greenhouse I noticed a few plants had major bug problems. I figured no big deal I would just inspect my plant and quarantine to make sure no bugs popped up. Now it has mealy bugs! Their plants are priced well but not worth it for the time you’ll have to take to get rid of the bug infestation that comes with it. Way too many plants crowded into the tiny 8 ft green house and if they have such little space how can they not stay on top of bug problems? I wouldn’t go here again or recommend them to any other plant enthusiast.

Andrea Stevenson: This nursery has the most beautiful green house with tons of indoor plants including lovely Jade and spider plants, among others. All the plants are remarkably healthy! Everything is very reasonably priced, and the employees are always near by, available and willing to help you find what you're looking for. There is a large selection of organic herbicides and pesticides as well as fertilizers. There is also bird feed and some feeders as well. In the spring I was able to find some live veggies and a huge selection of seeds as well! Some vegitables I'd never even heard of! The trees are very healthy and come in a range of ages. They have a ton of perinnals including all types of hostas, lilys, and wildflowers. I just can't say enough. This is the best nursery I've ever been to! And since they've been open 70 years, you can be assured that you're helping to support a long time local business.

The rain drainage has been much improved.And with the added weed barrier, I no longer need to pull weeds between the pavers and around our pond. Matthew Hertel: Our builder contracted this company to install our yard. We were given exactly zero direction has how to care for and grow our new yard. Whether that is the fault of the builder relaying information or a lack of Information from the lndscape company, I don’t know. But what I do know is the following… After repeated attempts to get information from our builder I was told they would speak to Dan and get back to me. After some time passed I asked our builder again if they heard back from Dan and I was told Dan would be giving me a call. During my call with Dan he never once explained to me what I should be doing to care for a newly seeded yard. In the meantime I contacted a lawn care service to care for my lawn needs. Dan asked me to give him feedback on what they said. Once I gave Dan feedback he immediately called me. Upon answering the phone he was belligerent and yelling at me telling me that every issue was lack of care. I think the real problem was lack of communication between Dan and the builder or Dan and myself to provide the knowledge and insight required to get a new yard started and growing healthily from seed. Dan wants to blame me, the lawn care services we use or someone else for “overwatering” and “lack of care” as he put it, but I think this whole situation would have been resolved if we had been given some sort of direction by dan directly or through the builder. The real issue is lack communication and professionalism. I have never dealt with a company where the owner called me directly and s soon as I said “hello” on the phone I was getting yelled at and belittled. This is a poor way to do business and gain future business.

They removed overgrown shrubs and replaced with beautifuly updated landscaping. They also removed an old deck and built a great looking flagstone paver patio. This is the only company that was polite and professional and the only one that has responded with a quote. I am pleased with the proposed work and the quoted amount. The office manager was also honest about the wait time for the work to be done. I will update my review when the work is completed, but so far I am very pleased with Fuerbringer Landscaping.

After waiting 20 minutes after the appointment time, calling the company several times with no answer, I get a phone call saying the designer can’t make our appointment.After rescheduling, I received an extremely unprofessional voicemail stating they had to cancel my second scheduled appointment. Seems reasonable as a business to cancel appointments when something comes up, but to cancel not once, but twice before meeting with me? I have made my decision to go with another company. I will make sure to send any future referrals elsewhere.***There was initially no mention of anyone getting in an accident or what had caused the delay (not that they needed to) all that was said was “Jamie (the designer) got behind”.PLEASE NOTE: A 1 star review was given due to the cancelled appointments ( yes, that’s 2 appointments cancelled) and the rude unprofessional secretary. What’s appalling is that this company continues to call my cellphone, several times, and harass me. I’m not interested in doing business with you. Please stop calling and leaving verbally abusive and threatening voicemails. Thank you.

Larry: The owner doesn't show at job sites to give direction, expects the home owner to guide the workers. Ruined a very expensive tree by over trimming, refused to replace . Posted pictures below, proof is in the pudding as they say. Photo after they trimmed and before, an estimate to replace the tree by a more then 30 year skilled arborist and an estimate to repair damage caused by dan's carless crew. The man dan sent out was looking at the wrong tree and came unannounced, who does this? We were at that point in litigation yes I asked him to leave, he was trespassing!I had text dan twice that we need to chat with no response. Not to take into account that the prior year he tried to bill me twice for the same work.

Dan is certainly an expert and every person working for his company was professional and courteous. I can’t say enough good things about Dan his employees and the high quality work done for us. The workers on site were courteous and kept our residency clean during the project completion. I recommend Fuerbringer without reservation.

Stephen Bubanovich: Jamie, landscape designer, and Fuerbringer's landscape team did a good job in adding pine trees and focus plants for a backyard screen. The bed needed quite a bit of work to get the grade correct and prepared for the new plants and the crew did a good job. The design process was fast and communication was good while we worked through the options. Any questions asked of the crew while working were handled well. The quote was fair and the quality of the pines Jamie selected was excellent.

Linda Garrison: Charged over $4,000 for sub par service and didn’t come through with what we agree to. Young kid who promised to uphold the company his grandfather started. I’m new to this area of the country and was depending on him for plants, bushes, etc, that would grow up here. Never received one bush. He trimmed the bushes, replaced some cinder block, and put additional rock that didn’t match the rock already in the beds. Single woman, new to the area - he took advantage of my lack of knowledge. I paid at least three times what I should have. My neighbors are asking for his name to mow their grass this summer. I wouldn’t recommend him just to mow the grass.

Chuck Hurley: Our family used Fuerbringers to do extensive landscaping. They did a wonderful job. We took four bids on the work. Fuerbringers price was reasonable given the amount of work. Most importantly, they did exactly what we asked them to do. I was pleasantly surprised they got it all done in two days. They worked non-stop and hardly took any breaks. I would definitely recommend Fuerbringers.

Alyson H.: He built our rock wall 10 years ago (cost $5K). It is now crumbling. He came over and gave every excuse in the book on why he is not responsible for it - chipmunks tunneling, roots, the boulders were too small (this is what he recommended as the expert he is), settlement, etc. Even admitted one section was poorly built then when called on it he refuted he said it. I have a witness. He became argumentative with my maintenance guy and myself. Claimed he doesn't want money coming out of his pocket. Basically, if you want to have something built that will fall apart that will then not be warranted go ahead and contract with him.

That includes the crew that did the tear-out and installation of plants and trees. They were efficient and easy to work with during the whole process.I have had nothing but high praise for the new landscape. I highly recommend Ginger Valley for anyone's Landscaping needs.

Was excited to give my money to a small business that had fair pricing! Ordered bulk rock, several slabs of lime stone, some medicine for my tree, and was planning to get all of my plants there.Was dissapointed that I had to wait almost 3 weeks to get my rock. But I adjusted my plans, scheduled a day off work, ordered the last bit of things I needed that they didn't have at Ginger Valley and I was ready to "rock".Well, come June 11... 3 weeks after I ordered, phone rings... Ginger Valley sold the last bit of rock to "some landscaper". Never mind I fully paid for my rock along with delivery! Jist like that... Rock wasn't available. Maybe they can deliver it monday. Nevermind the fact that this customer had already bought that rock. It was MINE! So, cancelled my order. You clearly don't want my money because no one even batted an eye when I asked for a refund. Would have been cool if you at least cared...It's becoming increasingly hard to do business with places around here. No one seems to want my money. Glad there's enough free cash floating around that businesses don't need mine! 🤷🏼‍♂️good luck ginger Valley. We could have been good friends.

Purchased a magnolia and the night before I picked it up had gotten freeze damage. All the leaves dropped, and ultimately it did not survive the planting. Shared multiple pics that Summer and Fall. Dead. Got 50% store credit because I did not have them plant it. I'm pretty sure it was not the planting that killed it, but more so the fact that it had no leaves to help it recover. Should have never taken it at time of pickup. All in all, great store and people though. Found four Magnolias at another Greenhouse. Greg was helpful, but was bound to the store policy on partial store credit.
