Tina Marie: I highly recommend this wonderful place! I had to put my mom in a facility so 8 months ago we put her in an assisted living facility. Worse decision ever. I had nothing to compare it to until I moved her in home by the dome. I no longer worry & cry and literally feel guilty because my mom is so happy here & she tells me! I had no idea that basic human care needs weren't being met until she got here! My only regret is that she had to live 8 months in that horrible place. Thank you Kay for the love and care you provide for my mom.I could write a book!

Dolores Patanelli: Kay and Ramone, and all the caregivers are exceptional! The food is delicious and the portions are very filling. Anything you want you will receive - just ring the bell and Anna, Cling, Kay, Ramone and Jisoo are right there. It is so nice because I am in a “home”. I was able to bring my own furniture for my room and my lift chair to put in the TV room. I exercise daily, do yoga, decorate cookies and do word games. My family is also so very happy to have a very safe, caring and comfortable home for me to be in. I like all of the residents and I like that it is small and not like a nursing home. Thank you so much for all you do for me!! ♥️

Mike Bridger: ‘Home’ is the right name for this wonderful small facility. Our sister has a terminal illness and is under hospice care here. She is mostly immobile and requires assistance to move about. The staff here are attentive, careful, and cheerful. Our sister’s needs are met in a timely manner. The small number of residents makes this possible. The home-cooked food is prepared in the Home’s open kitchen. She loves the meals. She is seen twice weekly by the nurse and others from hospice. It is my belief that the care our sister receives and the home-like ambience have extended her life significantly. Her comment after moving here from a large assisted living building: “So much less stress…” That is true for me and her other siblings as well.

Julie Stebbins: They are taking great care of my Grandpa who is 96 years old. He was unable to get the care he needed at assisted living. this transition to a group home could not have gone better thanks to Group home by the Dome care and dedication.

Ma Liza Aquino: Upon entering this beautiful brick home , and seeing the vast spaces outside .. for families to visit with their loved ones; one can see the physical appearance of a comfortable living environment and a very homey atmosphere the residents are enjoying...You can tell the residents are very well taken care of as they are all neatly dressed and groomed, enjoying some games or some peer activities with the joyful and very attentive staff.They have an ideal ratio of 2 :5 that is why you can be assured that your loved one is safe, secure, very well taken care of , enjoying the comfort of home cooking everyday ,.. will definitely give you a very good feeling of content and peace of mind which is priceless!!This is the place to be.. for your precious mom or dad who needs more assistance and supervision which an assisted living or a nursing home could not provide effectively..

Owner Kay will work with you with hours that you need. this place is very clean and homey. They serve excellent, nutritious food and assist and encourage each resident if they needed help eating. They treat each resident like they're family. Residents are treated with dignity, respect, and enjoy purposeful living. I highly recommed this place!

Marilee McCormack: The Home by the Dome, is by far one of the finest homes for our elderly and ailing family members! We felt so lucky to have found them and placed my father there! He was very happy, loved all of the girls, and received excellent care from them. They went above and beyond any of our expectations! The food is beautifully prepared and tasty, and artfully presented!!A gorgeous backyard and comfortable seating for all.While my father was with them, as he had been with Hospice, they arranged for Hospice to continue their care. Hospice was always available if needed!Definitely a place anyone will be happy and well cared for ❤️

Cynthia Reed: The Caring Cottage provides the highest level of care I've ever observed in a facility. Every domain--physical, emotional, social, cognitive and spiritual--is addressed with the utmost care and professionalism. The staff were attentive and responsive to my father's needs and he was happy there. The home is very clean and located in a nice area. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, you will not find one better than The Caring Cottage.

Lisa Deputy: I placed my Mother in the Caring Cottage in Jan 2021. Unfortunately, it was the end of life for her & she was only there 4 months before she passed away. I truly wish I had known about this home several years ago! She was in a large facility for almost 4 years & I moved her to another group home in Dec. & had a horrible experience . Thankfully , Glenda had an opening & was able to relocate her to the Caring Cottage as soon as I realized I had to move her. Glenda is so caring, compassionate, & knowledgeable about the senior population & her staff is the same. The small number of residents in the house is such an advantage when your loved one needs a lot of care or attention. The meals are home cooked & delicious. I would recommend this home over any facility in the Mishiana area.

Sharon Marquez: As a nurse in Long Term Care buildings, Rehabilitation facilities and Assisted Livings walking into a place like The Caring Cottage is an amazing thing. Through the years I have often thought of different ways to improve quality of life for our geriatric population when they need placement options. Improvements have been made in Senior Living options but the best option by far is a small group setting. Group Homes offer an option for anyone who wants to keep their loved ones in a home like setting. Glenda and Mike have worked hard and tried to think of every detail when they opened the Caring Cottage and its obvious in the way the residents who live there are cared for. They are cared for like I would care for my Mom or Dad if they were no longer able to live in their home. They are treated with love, respect and compassion. Their needs are met timely (not when it’s convenient for the staff). The smiles on the faces of the people who reside there as well as the staff who work there say it all. This feels happy, this feels like HOME! Thank you Glenda and Mike for providing the South Bend/Mishawaka area such a wonderful option in Geriatric living.

Team Happy: I had the wonderful opportunity to interface with Glenda recently regarding one of the patients under her care. Glenda went above and beyond to timely and expeditiously facilitate my requests and also facilitated all the necessary professional connections that were necessary. She obviously cares about her patients and the families that entrust their loved ones to her care. The word that best encapsulated my interaction with Glenda: INTEGRITY.

Kathy Stark: Finding The Caring Cottage for our Mom was a blessing! Glenda and Mike have made a huge difference in her quality of life. She went from withering away in her former retirement home to being more active and involved. She now puts her makeup again, is much more active and enjoys her cocktail hour!

Dad’ health quickly deteriorated as he went from independent living to rehab and nursing home in a matter of weeks. As many families are dealing with separation due to the Pandemic we knew we had to get Dad moved from the rehab facility. Glenda accepted Dad.We are so thankful God placed the Caring Cottage in our path.After months not being with Dad when he needed us most while his health deteriorated Glenda allowed us to see Dad as he was at end of life.Dad loved the staff and told us he finally felt safe. When staff interacted with Dad he always had a smile and kind words to say of them.We were so blessed to have been able to be with Dad and know when we left he was being so welled care for. I never had the chance to meet them in person, as I live out-of-town, but they were easy to work with and were a blessing to our family just knowing Mom was being pampered by them while we couldn't visit her.

Glenda does everything to make sure her residents are well taken care of, trained, and treated like family.Glenda being a physical therapist is such a gift. She knows her residents well and truly cares about their well being. My mom is peaceful and calm now and actually interacts with staff. Glenda makes sure to keep in contact with family and update them on their parent of loved one. I would highly recommend The Caring Cottage to anyone whose loved one can no longer be in assisted living and doesn't want to send their parent to a nursing home at that point in their life.

Andrea Mather-Stow: The Caring Cottage has been a true blessing for our family. The care they take for each of the residents is equal to the best that family could provide...and probably even better as the caretakers are all skilled in the special needs of elders---physically and mentally. This is a real "home"....only 5 residents and those that are able are welcome to help in the kitchen or other activities---just enough stimulation to keep minds active and reinforce that each individual is valued. The Caring Cottage is a loving family. Can't recommend them enough for anyone looking for a safe & nurturing haven for loved ones!!

Everyone is well cared for, well fed and the staff is very accommodating when families visit. The residents especially enjoy the tea parties. Everyone wears a fancy hat and jewelry. Tea and finger foods are served. Everyone has a good time.

Julie Smith: This Group Home has been a lifesaver for my Mother. For nearly 3 years now our Mother has been living at The Caring Cottage where we moved her after the death of our father who had been her full time care giver. She is in the advanced stage of Alzheimers. I can't say enough good about the attention and care she has gotten at The Caring Cottage. She has good days and bad days and even happy days. We (as a family) really couldn't be happier. It's good to know that my Mother is in a place where she has the love and attention that she wouldn't have in a nursing home.

Our Home: sadly we are not getting success with this company. No communication even though you repeatedly call in. May be nice people, but I would look elsewhere for services at this point.

But that's OK cause I would rather not have one.corvilla is as bad as Logan.I was at Martin's to meet a job coach who never showed up. I know of this job coach from a former client who worked with her at the job. I refuse to work with corvilla since they cannot provide a professional job coach who can do there job. Please stop my services at your company

Ginger Scott: Lew, Ryan and staff have been caring for mom for the past five months. She moved from a memory care unit from a local facility. She is receiving such wonderful care! The ratio between resident to staff used to be 20:1, now at Golden Heart the ratio is 3:2. My family has such peace of mind knowing all her needs are well tended. She was a fall risk and since her move she not only hasn’t fallen, but the staff has been working with her and her strength had greatly improved. I can’t say enough good things about Golden Heart and Home, I highly recommend this place for your loved ones!
