woody bailey: My custom trailer, never used and parked on concrete for 3 months, had such a heavily rusted frame (the step broke off upon delivery due to rust), that I couldn't even trade it in on something better. No warranty from Harmar Dixie Star, nor the dealer in Montana. Lost over $24,000 trying to unload this mess. Buy all aluminum or buy a better brand would be my advice. Also, watch the tongue-weight on a BPLQ trailer (they are not forthcoming on the weight)

Tom Martin: Bought a new one in 2018, many of lights did not work, some still do not, fought with it till warrremty ran out then was not their problem any more. Had to take all apart amd fix myself.

Jamie Rimes: I purchased a BRAND NEW Triple axle bighorn from them last year. I was so excited. I had traded my paid off Bloomer for this huge mack daddy $108,000 trailer with all the bells and whistles. On the way home from Dixie horse and mule in Alabama we pulled over to sleep because we had to go to our home in SW florida. This is when it all started. The touch screen electric pad wouldn't turn on any lights. We thought no big deal as we were exhausted and we will call them in the morning. The trailer had been in the repair shop at least 10 to 15 times starting from day one from little things like speaker covers falling off all the way to my trailer almost catching on fire not once not twice but 3 times due to the electrical wiring in the walls being loose and sparking. The main in the closet melted, the water tank underneath would never hold water and the trailer had to be hauled to the main factory to be replaced. The slide out cables have broken twice and had to be replaced.. We have missed countless rodeos and roping. This has affected our livelihood and cost us so much time and money. This trailer is not just so poorly made but also because AJ the customer service manager is not helpful at all. The response is always we need to have it repaired. The trailer is 100% a lemon. I have given alternate options like replacing the trailer or returning my down payment and ill give them back the trailer she refuses time and time again. I have sent countless pictures and emails. Well now ladies and gentlemen due to the poorest customer service and piss poor repairs. The shower and mangers have leaked water into the floor, cabinets and walls and there is mold everywhere and she is denying that another option be considered. I have been patient for over a year now. Its time this stops. If you want to buy a trailer and not a nightmare I would NOT recommend Lakota. I am beyond dissatisfiwith this company and the people they employto take care of their customers. BTW Gary and Melissa in Customer Service are wonderful.

Kaitlyn Grate: Had a friend who worked here was told to go out and buy a drill set, so they did. Then was told after their first week they'd bring home about 1000 a week.... into their second week was going out for break and was told to grab their things that they were done.... hadn't caused any problems was doing what was asked of them and found out they were just a filler until someone with more experience came for work.... then when they called and asked if they could pick up their check on Friday instead of it being mailed cause it takes longer that way they were told that company policy says they have to mail the checks then was hung up on. Dont get me wrong I understand the policy and don't disagree but from the multiple different stories I have heard from people I am personally close to the management here sucks. Also maybe the company should provide their own tools until they know they want to keep that person then have the person go buy their own.....

George Smith: I have tried to get a replacement wheel for my 2018 lakota bighorn for 4 days now. You would think that a business the size of lakota manufacturing would have more than one parts person or at least one that would help you out. I have called many times and have gotten nothing but the run around. They tell me that they don't have wheels,so all I'm asking for is the name of the manufacturer and a part number and I will do the foot work. I sent a picture of the wheel for a reference, and still nothing. I called again this morning and was told they would get back to me. AGAIN

Kathy King: We have a 2007 Lakota hut which we bought new. We bought it as I was going to do some weekend camping trips on a regular basis. Our trailer gets used on a regular basis for day rides and camping weekend. We did have some issues with it dating back to a bad design. I will say that Gary and AJ at Lakota Trailers in Bristol , Indiana went above and beyond to make the trailer right again so we can hit the road again. I will say they stand behind their product. I would recommend a Lakota trailer any day.

chuck McFarland: We had bought a 2017 lakota big horn 17'9" short wall living quarters horse trailer and all we have is problems wires coming apart in ceiling for the tv's and wires arching above the slideout welds are breaking on the steps and now we are dealing with axle problems. We are just nervous about whats next obviously they need to slow down and do a better quality job.

Daniel Herrin: I have a 2016 Lakota big Horn with big problems. We have had the trailer 16 months and it has been out for service 10 weeks and most of the problems remain unresolved. Now I've been told to take it to the 5th different place for repairs ranging from water leaks to propane leaks to 5 cabinet doors that have fallen off and more. The service lady at Lakota will no longer return my calls and says we should communicate via email. They had no problem talking to me on the phone before I bought the problem ridden trailer. Can't recommend Lakota unless you enjoy total frustration.

After waiting 3 extra months to get my new custom trailer, I discovered (2.5 months after the delivery person had left) that the entire frame was heavily corroded and considered too compromised (by a Featherlite dealer) to resell. Sandy Palmer: I have had the pleasure of working with the Harmar guys on two of my trailers. They have been nothing short of gracious to work with and do beautiful top of the line work. They have pointed maintenance issues out, BEFORE they became an issue. They have taught me how to keep my trailer safe and sound. Just like anything metal that spends any amount of time out in the elements, you have to keep up on maintenance. I will continue to use Harmar as long as I own horse trailers.

Douglas Darby: Todd and his guys built me a fully custom 28' bumper pull trailer in 2017 that I have put about 35,000 miles on since then. The did an excellent job of incorporating all the things we wanted and added systems that we specifically bought and had delivered to their factory. When a tire blew and took out three of the side panels they repaired it for a fraction of the cost of other RV repair services in a fraction of the time. And it looks like new. You will not go wrong buying a Vintage trailer. They have great customer service and sell and excellent product.
