Fiddler's Hearth: what do users think?
Mary Meyer: Absolutely *phenomenal* food here. The Irish poutine is a meal! I'd go back just for this dish, very similar to Canadian poutine but the crispy sausages bring it to another level. Eat one with the melty cheese well coated in gravy- mercy. The potato and ham soup is quite literally the best I've ever had, anywhere. I'm a foodie, love to explore flavors, and have traveled all over the US. I don't know what the secret it, but the flavor is absolutely incredible. The texture is thick and rich, as a meal paired with a chunk of crusty bread, *chefs kiss*Can you order it by the gallon to freeze? Inquiring taste buds need to know.....You can't go wrong with the Corned Beed and cabbage, Steak and Guinness pie, Reuben, or Shepherds pie. Authentic, flavorful, delicious. But the DESSERT. Oh. My. Gosh. The Irish sundae is delicious but if you can only get one- the truffle cake is something there aren't words for. First of all, it's a lie. Cake it is NOT. This absolute delight is a hockey puck sized TRUFFLE. Rich, creamy, delicious dark chocolate and you're thinking.....who could eat this?! But the puree it's drizzled in is a masterpiece of tartly acidic magic that cuts the richness of the truffle. Finished with fresh berries that pop in your mouth, eat bite is a new explosion and exploration of flavor. Blueberry, blackberry, strawberry mixed with rich chocolate, this is the best dessert I've ever had.Dear chef, add a mint leaf and swap the chocolate syrup plate decoration with dots of mint pesto and this would rival anything with a Michelin star 💖In addition, the atmosphere is fun and playful inside with live music on weekends, while outdoor seating offers a pretty view of downtown. Our waiter was top notch and attentive. To think we weren't even planning to eat here, we smelled it driving by!I want to go back to South Bend just for Fiddlers. 10 stars.

Jimmy Lee: As someone who travels all over this country and frequents so called Irish pubs, this one gets the biggest wow factor and a huge boost above ALL others.First the atmosphere...: the decor, the way it's set up, the the bar, and the tables is like no others I have been toService.....always friendly, fast, and very welcoming.Food.... I have had about 1/2 the menu and to be honest I've never had traditional Irish meals as detailed and delicious as here.I will conclude with the best part. I've been here several times when staying in South Bend but only for lunch.I was able to this time catch the night life and have some drinks. The music is as close to that in Ireland that I've found in the states and the people here were so friendly with welcoming conversation. I even found out they do sessions here on some nights.Last note: they have an excellent selection of Irish whiskey. Some of which I heard about but never seen.

Todd Scott: The burger is far from south bends top 10 as trip advisory claims. The service from our waitress was bad.My wife and I ordered a simple cheese burger and fries from no menu as none was offered. We sat and drank water even after asking for pop as the waitress just came back with the milk bottle of water and walked away.About 30 min a young lady brings us our food, wife again asks for pop and I see no cheese so I just ask for a slice to put on it no need to send it back.Wife bites into hers and spits out an avocado slice then proceeded to find 3 more. She eats the burger as it was pointless to wait for our waitress as we did not see her until we was ready to leave, and yes still no pop.We spent more there for a burger and fries that was just as bad as a McDonald's quarter pounder than we would if we just ate McDonald's and we would have had something to drink.
TeJae Jackson: The atmosphere was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious. It is so cozy here. My 8 year old kept saying she loved it here and "This feels like MY place. This feels like home." I don't really understand all the "whys" bur I was feeling the exact same way. I'm so glad we came and I would absolutely come again. A phenomenal experience from beginning to end.

Corby's Irish Pub: what do users think?
David Howell: There hours say till 3am showed uo at two they are closed people inside they waved us off
Alex Hickman: Couldn’t even walk in this place because, “the owner wouldn’t like me”. I’m the furthest thing from a threat. Until you don’t let me into your establishment. What’s going on in there?
Rosa A.: Amazing DJ Dr Data!
Jacob Fleming: Great staff and lots to do throughout the week!
jamie dailey: Wish i could give it ZERO stars! We were profiled at the door for being a part of the LGBTQ+ community. My wife and I were told it was student id night only. Our friends who arrived before us also in their 30s were let in no questions aksed. Not to mention there were multiple patrons who were easily older then us inside. We also witnessed the bouncers denying enrty to 3 young black males who looked collage age but didn't have student id's. Those young men were filming the entire thing and were clearly being racially profiled and I hope they post it everywhere.Upon further investigation of the pub, the bouncers think its ok to assult women/men, especially woman who were man handled and punched in the face.. Thats super excessive, and unnecessary, just like your discrimination against anyone who isn't a "white bro"..Since you all are such b*gots at the door might as well save you the hassle and just post signs up on the front saying"Straight Whites Only!"But really i think they get a sick thrill/power trip out of doing it face to face...
Zoe Emory: The dj ( dr data) needs to play better music, more house music - better transitions??? Can’t justify paying 5$ cover for this - also bring earplugs you will lose your hearing :(
Rylee drummond: The bouncers here use excessive force when dealing with patrons. The bouncer, Alex, has not only assaulted me but many other customers as well at this bar! I was punched, choked, & left with many bruises by him this summer. I can’t believe this is still happening & the owner could care less.
Jen Jen: Our first night out with the girls and they decide to punch a women on her face and her shoulder
mayra macias: They prey on women and beat them up. Their tall big African bouncer hits women for no reason at the door. Watch out ladies!!! There’s multiple reviews of women getting hit for no reason!!!
veronica garcia: I will never come here again I witnessed a security officer put his hands on a women and grabbed her by the neck. Seeing that made me feel unsafe and not want to ever come back. No women should be treated that way
IllegalXcircle Filmz: This place is disgusting the security white wanna be biker with glasses. Has been racially profiling people. And feels entitled to say what he wants to you and will kick you out soon as you say something back. I will never come here again the security is a big joke. They will put there hands on you accessibly for saying the wrong thing to them.
Norberto Garcia: Corby’s Pub use to be a very awesome bar. Recently I went to the bar with my sister, my fiancé and her friends. I was wearing a gold chain, black jeans that were not sagging and a t-shirt. Which was a very similar dress code to what every one that was already in the bar was wearing. The best part is we got forcefully pushed out the bar which is fine and we were calm. however, the bouncers shoved, swung and hit my sister on her shoulder very hard, she bruised. A lot of people waiting in line saw what happen and were very upset making things escalate. Again my sister and I told everyone we weren’t with to step outside so we could talk to the bouncers. The bouncers were still very abusive threatening to pepper spray us for no reason other than them wanting to use excessive force. We were fine and even though that crowd started shouting racial slurs along with the bouncer following we still remained calm but the bouncer continued to use excessive force. I understand they are doing their job but it’s ridiculous to see a guy three times the size of a woman push, swing and punch someone. There are many reviews with similar situations occurring at this bar. I do NOT understand how the City of South Bend is not aware of the discrimination they have against women and use of excessive force they use at this bar. RIDICULOUS!
Rebel Jacob: Last night I saw a security guy hit a young lady three times. As a women, it is not okay to touch a women like that and shoved her out and punched her. I came here months ago and the same thing happened to my girlfriend with the SAME bouncer. This the guy who hits women in this Bar
Jeff Michaels: Would give zero stars if I could. Worst place in the world, basically if you are mexican or black you’re probably not getting in, bouncer is a racist d-bag. I hate this place so much that i could sit here and make multiple accounts just to leave awful reviews.
MariLuz: Worst, hurtful experience ever! Their board outside the door has a list of reasons one cant get in. I get that, a lot of places have a dress code. excessively sagging pants is one of them… but instead of applying the rules, its used as a form of discrimination.I drove 3 hours into town to visit family and have a good time with my boyfriend and cousin. As soon as we were about to approach the door I had my ID out with my cousin and boyfriend behind me. The Security points to my boyfriend (a darker hispanic) and says he is sagging and can not come in. The sign says excessively sagging. plus his pants were pulled up above his waist. He tried pulling them up even more , even though there was no reason for him too. Then the security said no they’re sagging and closed the doors in my face when i was politely telling him that makes no sense why we couldnt get in if hes not even sagging and we followed the dress code.Shortly after i waited a little ways off from the door to see if the same rules applied to others…. A black man and two hispanic men were sent away … then came some white men.. some sagging and some with their pants to their waist as my boyfriends , yet they were let in.Its sad to say we are in 2023 and yet business owners and their workers hold racism as a way to run their business, and discriminate against those that are not the same color as them.Would not go here. So much for a “landmark pub for students, alumni, Notre Dame fans, locals and tourists.”Your business should add into that line - “only if you are white.” RIDICULOUS
Joe Kopacz: My visit to Corby's Irish Pub was brief and intended as a quick nostalgia check. I'd been told the location was relocated from its previous location in the 1970s. This was indeed confirmed to be true.Upon entering, we noted all the bar space and tables were largely occupied, yet there was still plenty of space in the general areas and around the pool table. The noise level was not excessive, as we could hear individual conversations from people and the TVs playing. All areas were generally clean and there were no odd smells present. If I lived or worked in South Bend, I could definitely envision stopping by here for a drink and a hang out on occasion. Alas, I do not live in South Bend and was indeed just visiting for the weekend to take in some hockey. Corby's is indubitably a local institution, though, and under different circumstances would definitely consider visiting on a future return trip to the area.
Doug Hill: Fun, neighborhood / Notre Dame bar. Usually a younger crowd but lots of great energy and a great outside area to enjoy during the summer.
CLOWNLOVE BRETT: So there is black guy in the park lot harassing people for IDs before I enter the building great service
Kenneth Walden: Great environment, great service, excellent prices, amazing staff
Brian Fruchey: A hole with non-fancy drinks and food with lots of locals that support the Irish. Couldn't ask more of a bar.
Dave Woodson: After a long day of real estate networking it was a chill place to relax with some beer and pizza among friends but come game day look out

O'Rourke's Public House: what do users think?
M “Splinter” Lyons: Great bartenders who were friendly and had a great sense of humor. Typically pub grub, the fish and chips were good. Great draught Guiniess on tap that is served with the perfect amount of head.
Verna O'Connor: Went here for St.Patricks day 23* This place is the best!!! The bartenders we're great, the waitress we had was absolutely friendly and and amazing as she definitely had her hands full. The food was fantastic, I honestly can't say I ever had better loaded fries...the Sheppard pie was slightly dry but still everything all around was 4.9 🌟 out of 5. Absolutely can't wait to return and it's a hr drive.
T S: Good food, drink was a bit light. Fun atmosphere.
Jim O'Connor: It was a really great place to be for St Paddy's Day. This was my 1st time here and I found my new favorite place and I will be back as regular!
Amy Griffin: Just ate there this past Friday. The burgers are fantastic and the reuben fritters! Food was so good we went back and ate there on Saturday too.
Will M: The Jameson wings might be the best wings I've ever had. Ask for Trevor (bartender). Great people and a great location!
Jake Rekucki: Our server Abby was fantastic. Very fast service, friendly, we will definitely be coming back to o’rourkes to visit our friend abby!
dean gallam: Good food, large beer selection, and relaxed atmosphere...
Philly Philly: While the wings were great the service was terrible. I know it’s a sports bar on a college campus but there may have been 20 total people in the entire place. Would have loved to have had more than 1 drink but the guy only came around twice?
Joel Gould: Great atmosphere. Very close to campus.
Roberto Parisi: Service was OK. Food not so good
Jacob Fleming: Great staff and Irish atmosphere, especially during football season!
Alexander Reinhardt: We went on a busy Friday night of a hockey game and waited about 15 min for a table. Fantastic atmosphere. Our waitress was nice and quick, however the food took about 30 min to come out. We got burgers and they were nothing spectacular, sides were a bit small for the price. Great selection of beers on tap. Not sure how quickly we’d go back but it was good to experience as ND fans.
Patrick Ndombi: My daughter and I were just looking for a place to have an afternoon snack. We happened upon O'Rourke's, which is in the shadow of the Notre Dame Campus. When we went in, we were promptly seated. The waiter, Joel, quickly served our beverages. He recommended their pretzel bites for a snack. We ordered them and were very pleased with the doughy pretzel served with a beer cheese. Next time we are in the area we will definitely stop in again and try a meal from their large menu.
Beth Scarbrough: Great food and atmosphere
Lisa Christy: Had a small room all to ourselves for our group of 6. Our server was fantastic. Burgers were amazing.
Joyson Jacob: Sheperds pie is good and wings were yum. Service was good
Justin K: If we compare to Brothers down a block down the road then it's horrible. Prices are higher and service is generally worse. The atmosphere is slightly different and generally quieter because it's not as popular. If they weren't located next to Notre Dame they would be out of business.
James Stolte: Food was ok. They need more servers.
Andrew Notarfrancesco: Great food and drinks.
Anthony Beatty: After Xmas party dinner, very polite and receptive of the large crowd.

CJ's Pub: what do users think?
Ryan Cradick: Grab a beer and head down the street to the Whiskey bar.
Christina McMurtrie: I was surprised to find that there is a 4% upcharge to pay with a card. If you plan on visiting this venue, plan on paying in cash.I also thought their pitchers of beer were pricy for a pub restaurant. $21.50 for a pitcher of Oberon. The service was ok. The one saving grace was the food, my Burger was delicious!!!
Quinton Stith: This was my first time there and it was absolutely horrible of an experience. For starters the draft beer was flat and tasteless. Second there was a 1hr 15min wait for food, it was freezing cold inside and the person who helped us said he didn't have a way to turn the heat up. And after an 1hr of waiting for food we asked about it and they said our tickets fell behind the grease trap and our food wasnt even started even though people were eating after we came in. All the mentions and great food they advertise seems to be back when they opened because they cant even keep track of tickets. 10/10 do not recommend!
Scott Shelhart: Tried this place a few times. Old and tired...needs a good deep clean and an upgrade.
Bryon Burnett: Good food and atmosphere. Service was good as well
Chris Caulfield: bartenders were very upbeat and helpful.good energy ate last time i was there and it was excellent
Ashley Wright: Not a bad place. More staff than patrons. One if the bartenders was super drunk and he couldn't really speak. Definitely a dive bar. Place appeals to college kids more than anyone else
James Hardy: Found this place on Google. Ordered a half sandwich and soup for lunch. White Cheddar Cauliflower was very tasty. A Half BLT and chips was plenty of food and was good. A crisp sourdough bread loaded with a good amount of bacon did me in.There's plenty of room here.Barb was my server. Great sense of humor and very helpful.I'd stop in.
T.A.T T.A.T: This place had absolute AMAZING FOOD. We had a large group and everyone loved their food. The burgers were huge and delish & I had a grilled chicken sandwich which was amazing as well! If you haven't tried this place it's for sure worth trying!
Mary Loriot: Great place, good food Nice atmosphere good
robert zakowski: Incredible burger, great drinks and service
Kerry O'Hara: Great food and good service.
Eugene Korn: Always a good low key dinner at CJs.Easily one of the best burgers in town.
Jane Smith: A place you can get your burgers cooked to order. And great staff
tara major: Great staff, atmosphere, and food. Highly recommend! Also, the CJ's Pub sauce is excellent!
WhiteFangofDAWN: Good place great drinks and good food. Have been to many events here always a great time.
Mario Cavurro: Best burger in South Bend
Taylor Alexander: Everyone is very friendly theor Burgers are THE BEST! Good music, they have hoops there! Open concept. It needs a little updating but it's definitely fun & no issues ever 👍
Robert Thallas: Great service and excellent chicken sandwiches!
Eli Cantu: This is a cool college hangout at its best.
Genevieve M: I'm from Pittsburgh and I have to say, we don't have burgers this good out here. We stopped in and it was awesome. Cool bar atmosphere, everyone is so nice. Food is awesome. Huge burger and it hit the spot!!
