Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu South Bend: what do users think?
LM SUPER: Definitely the most Premier Academy in the South Bend area. Gary has a rich history with his lineage and is very well respected across the country. He provides a very traditional approach to jiu-jitsu no watering down of the sport or funny business. He does not have contracts or charge for belt ranking. Like most other academies in the area. It is simple you put in the work you show up you get another belt tied around your waist when it is time and never before.
Nick Weiler: Amazing people, fun atmosphere, and high quality Jiu-Jitsu.
Sean Murphy: All instructors are great. Laid back atmosphere for the beginners with those ambitious and skilled enough for competition. Membership comes with gym access too!
Cory Metcalfe: Cousin was in town from Vegas and he practices regularly. He wanted to hit the mat this morning and found this place to drop in. I'm a complete noob, haven't been to a class in about 10 years. Jack and the crew were absolutely welcoming, can't wait to go back!
Devante F: Positive:QualityI thought the little exp I had wrestling was enough . Came here and realized It's way more to grappling. Gary's a really in depth instructor and the people here are tough.
Robert Kitch: Great gym so far. No commitment like most other gyms just have to give him enough notice to cancel payment. Other places want you to commit for a year at least. Two BJJ black belts that I have seen so far. They have 2 classes everyday but Sunday so it fits moat schedule. Classes arent too big so there is enough one on one time with the instructor.Omly complaint is that the membership seems a bit high but there really isnt any place as good as this so its worth it for me.
Paul Beltran: An amazing place, Gary's experience and advanced teaching is of high quality. It is much more than an academy, its family and nothing is bought , everything is earned , by blood, sweat and tears. Nothing but respect for this academy, Gary Briscoe and the Ribeiro Jiu Jitsu organization! If you are looking for a place to train and learn at a high level then this is the place you need to be!
Larry Remkus: Great place!!!! Fun, friendly people...
Melanie Fischer: Don not trust these people with your bank account!! Not only did they lie they continued to take money out of an account after the membership was canceled. They refuse to provide requested information and blatantly ignored emails.
Brooke Williams: Was told I can cancel ANYTIME before my month was up. Tried to cancel a week before, was told I did not give enough notice and will be charged for a month that I will not be able to use due to a change in my work schedule. This is a bad way to do business. I really liked everything else about this place when I was there.
Chris Weinrebe: Great group. I was in town for the night on business and they allowed me to drop in and gets some rolling in. Great lesson, very gracious and Professor Gary went out of his way to help me out. I can’t recommend this gym enough.
Nemo 4life: Loved this place! Safe environment that promotes more comrodery than competition. If learning Jiu Jitsu with a sustainable lifelong pace is your thing, this is your place!
caughtuslippin12: This place is great for adults and kids. Everyone there seems very close like family! I would recommend anyone starting or looking for a new place to train should get in and check it out!
Jacob Rosenbaum: This place rocks! The teachers are amazing. They are very kind, very patient and very skilled. The students are super cool and welcoming (also tough!). It’s really everything you could want in an academy.
Alexandra Chirakos: Great teachers, great friends, great workout! Everyone is super welcoming and helpful to newcomers, its like a family :)
Trisha Carrico: Great place to train. My daughter loves her kid classes. It is definitely our second family.
marcus major: Great teachers and great friends. No better place to train in the area!
Jordan Cockfield: If you're looking for training ground filled with highly skilled instructors and fighters who desire for you to succeed on and off the mat, Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu South Bend is the place. I joined January 2018 with only a little experience in cardio kickboxing, but that didn't matter. Gary and Jack work tremendously well with you regardless of your experience or skill level. Along with their knowledge and passion for this beautiful art form, the physical journey you experience is all the more captivating. Since I've been training, I've went from 230 lbs to 189 lbs to date (and still dropping!), and not only have I grown in understanding my body more, but also in controlling myself and keeping composure when engaging another fighter. Likewise, the mental and emotional journey that this place has offered me is astounding. In the words of Grandmaster Helio Gracie, "Jiu-Jitsu represents the triumph of human intelligence over brute strength." This is a challenging concept to fully embrace, but over time, you'll find yourself attempting to let go of being the strongest and see the triumph in being the smartest. Above all else, what really ties everything together in this place is the genuine care that the people have for one another from top down. From day one, I felt well looked after, welcomed, and encouraged. This place is my home and family. We train together, laugh together, and do life together. If you're looking to be a part of that, get in touch with Gary. He's a little OCD, but that's what keep the gym clean :D He also is a great man with a huge heart. Come check us out. The first class is FREE!#Osss
James Hentig: Clean facility, welcoming atmosphere, and really great instructing. Classes are easily broken down into "crawl, walk, run" style of learning, and each class is finished off with some full sparing. I've been there nearly a year and have dropped 70lbs!
Derek Gokee: Clean place with great instructors. Overall atmosphere is very friendly and positive. Don't be afraid to stop in!
Thi Hatakin: Excellent Teachers with a very friendly atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place to anyone curious about bjj or looking for a new place to train. Students and teachers alike are very knowledgeable and eager to help you grow.

Gracie Jiu Jitsu South Bend: what do users think?
Tim Hutchinson: I only wish I had found this gym, these owners, and these coaches sooner. Truly a great place for beginners to learn. It is great for kids and adults and I cannot say enough great things about this place. If you are looking for a place to train and learn or are on the fence, try the 10 day trial and see for yourself.
K W: My kids have been a part of the Academy for a couple of years. It is a great family oriented place to be a part of and teaches skills that will help a child navigate problems they may encounter. Also if your an adult wanting to try it out or somebody who is looking for some serious BJJ training you can find that on their mats too.Good Luck!
Jason Craft: These guys are amazing. The whole crew is so kind and welcoming. I've had all 3 of my kids there for years and have been taking lessons and attending classes myself. Definitely worth the time and money as a family investment.Update: gym culture is important and it's fantastic here. Full of respect and generosity for everyone, regardless where they're at on their journey, size, gender, or beliefs. Everyone is welcome. Not just from the twins and family, but from other students too.
Jeremy Smithes: I couldn't recommend this place more. The culture is very welcoming and the instructors are absolutely brilliant.
Nelson Salgado: The Entire McGuin family and staff are high quality people. They make you feel like family and their passion for the art of JiuJitsu is evident. Not only is their instruction awesome, but the community they have built alone.... is worth it. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND! (I drove regularly from Saginaw MI to attend this school, luckily for me - they opened a new location just 2.5 hours away from my house!)
John Fuller: I had the pleasure of doing a drop in class with the McGuin brothers and absolutely loved it. The brothers' are extremely knowledgeable and use easy to understand instructions in class. They, as well as their students, made me feel like part of their family the moment I walked into the school. I would absolutely recommend training here.
David Raynoha: Very professional and friendly a great place to learn and grow
Virginia Olson: Jiu jitsu has been a challenge for me, but the instructors at McGuin have been extremely supportive. They are so good at breaking down complex moves into a series of step-by-step actions. Also there is a great community of students who are always willing to help.
Samuel McGraw: I live and train in Denver but was in South Bend for the month visiting family and couldn't have asked for a better school to keep my skills sharp. John and Thomas do an amazing job fostering a mutually respectful, positive and constructive environment to learn self defense through bjj. They are very friendly and I felt immediately welcomed. I get the sense that they try to make every one who comes there feel that way and try to build people up to give them confidence, not only in they're ability to defend themselves, but confidence in themselves as a person. Everyone that I trained with there seems to carry the same positive attitude when it comes to training and are trying to make you better as well as themselves.Techniques are taught simply and effectively with plenty of drilling and oversight from instructors and higher belts to ensure confidence in your understanding of the techniques. To be honest, I kind of wish my regular academy had a similar style. I was mostly there to get some good sparring so I wasn't a normal student but as far as I could tell they keep have a foundational curriculum that tracks techniques taught to students and tests on these, giving regulars a tangible idea of they're progress, which I really like.I don't know when I will be back in South Bend, but I think it's safe to say that the next time I am, I will be getting my rolls at McGuin!
Blake Rodgers: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value
Benito Medina: The best decision I made was signing up at McGuin Jiu Jitsu! If you are looking to join a Jiu Jitsu academy, this is the place!!!
Gabriel Buss: Awesome people! The coaches really care about their students. My girls love it.
antonio thiele: Great atmosphere, awesome coaches, clean facility. All around great experience.
Bob Backus: The best place for adults and kids to study the art of jiu-jitsu in the purest form.
natalia peña: Excelente, grandioso lugar!! Volveré sin pensarlo dos veces! 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
brandon adolf: Amazing academy with an even better culture! John and Thomas are amazing instructors that teach Gracie Jiu jitsu geared towards self defense. Great group of guys and gals in the adult class, Everyone is very welcoming and eager to give you any tips and tricks. Whether you are brand new to Jiu jitsu, ex wrestler looking for no Gi or higher belt. This academy offers it all. Cant say enough about how great the culture and instruction is! If you are curious about trying out jiu jitsu for yourself or getting a child involved then come check out McGuin’s I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
Ian Operator: I can't say that I've trained there before, but I saw the viral video of them outting a BJJ fraud claiming to be a purple belt, and instead of taking an aggressive approach with it, they were kind to him after owning him a few times on the mat and actually offered him to actually train there and earn a real belt instead of going around being a punk fraud all his life. Most gyms and dojos I've been in would beat him up pretty good and scolded him pretty hard before even thinking about offering him to train and learn the real thing. That shows a lot of character.
A&M Home Services: Have 7 kids doing private classes . Kids Love the instructors John and Hannah!
Travis Bess: Positive:Professionalism1 class was all it took to get me hooked. welcoming and knowledgeable people!

Fuson's Eclectic Martial Arts & Jeet Kune Do Academy: what do users think?
Mark Herriman: I have trained here for several years. I started as an adult and wanted something reality based. I feel like I am learning realistic approaches that change the way you move and think of a combat scenario. This place is not a "belt factory" but instead teaches real world arts like kenpo/kalsadapo, filipino martial arts, and jeet kune do. You don't rank up if you can't do the technique without prompting and in a realistic situation- and I really like that. You can get a black belt with a weekend seminar elsewhere- but it will take several years here. The class is full of nice folks who are not just full of testosterone and ego.
Chris Sautter: I have trained in both Kali and Jeet Kune Do with Sifu Fuson and his school is great.

Reliance Jiu-Jitsu: what do users think?
Adam Rector: I had a great time training at Reliance Jiu-Jitsu while visiting South Bend last week. The gym was neat and clean, the atmosphere was very positive, the students were super nice, and the instruction was fantastic!Professor Micky Sage has a great approach to developing well rounded martial artists, drilling take downs as part of bjj class and dedicating one night a week to striking fundamentals.I'd recommend them to anyone in the area looking for some martial arts training!
Adam Norris: Visited this dojo for the first time today and was very happy with the experience. Mick(master) is a really knowledgeable and hands on guy. I will be coming back! Highly recommended
Nicola DeCicco: Absolutely awesome place, clean, open, convenient. Micky is a great coach, he has a great structure to his class and is able to help each student without delaying the lessons. Welcoming environment for beginners, I never felt judged for being new, or not knowing how to tie my belt. All around great atmosphere, I would highly recommend.
Andy Breden: First time checking out Reliance BJJ and it was great! Great group of students and Micky was a great instructor! Facilities are beautiful with plenty of space. Definitely recommend!
David Fenton: I went in today for my first every Jiu-Jitsu experience. Mick did an amazing job of teaching me a few different techniques. Very clean and great environment !!

Kroyler Gracie Jiu-Jitsu: what do users think?
Megan Lulley: Having no prior martial arts experience, I was quite intimidated to start training... until I showed up on Day 1 (knowing nothing) and met Kroyler Gracie and his team. They immediately welcomed me in and have made me feel comfortable every step of the way while also challenging me in a productive and effective manner. The learning curve is steep, but everyone in the gym is incredibly willing to help, regardless of experience level - no doubt a testament to the culture that Kroyler has created.Kroyler and his instructional staff are excellent across the board: knowledgeable, personable, kind, respectful, and generous with their time and expertise. They make it easy to keep returning every week. I couldn't be more grateful for my experience at Kroyler Gracie Jiu Jitsu thus far and would recommend it to anyone/everyone!
Cassandra Cassidy: I’ve only been going here a week, but I’m already very happy with my decision. I am a complete novice and everyone is so helpful and patient with me, which really makes the nerve wracking experience of starting something completely new not so bad at all. I really enjoy coming here and highly recommend it to anyone curious about starting BJJ.
CHRIS NITISS: 5 out of 5! If there were more stars I’d give it 10. I tried a fundamental class and it was great!! Started with Cardio to warm up and got straight to work! If you have any urges to try jiu jitsu, this is the place! Even as a beginner, you’ll feel like you’ve been part of the school for years.
Anna Snodderly: AMAZING TRAINING FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!! Having kids can make finding time to train difficult, but the family-friendly environment KGJJ has here makes all the difference! They have a great seating area and encourage you to bring the kids… they even have a basket of toys for kids to enjoy! And they were super encouraging when I brought a pack-and-play. My girls are now both training as well, and we love it!
Eric Farver: World class instruction right here in Elkhart, IN with classes for all skill levels, ages, and schedules. I cannot recommend Kroyler Gracie BJJ enough. Since starting here, this place has really felt like home from the moment I stepped through the door. If you’re on the fence with starting your own Jiu Jitsu journey, now is the time and this is the place!!
Jordan Ide: Top notch instruction, immaculate facility, and teammates that feel like family. Everything from a great kids program to advanced adults class, there is something for everyone. I would absolutely recommend Kroyler Gracie Jiu Jitsu to anyone looking to get started, continue their Jiu Jitsu journey or just drop in. Come join the team!
Sara Ermeti: Walking into a Jiu-Jitsu academy can be intimidating for anyone, especially for a woman, but not here! From the moment you enter everyone is welcoming and treats you like you are part of their family.Kroyler Gracie Jiu-Jitsu has a variety of instructors who are all knowledgeable, patient and detailed in their teaching with the ability to break down even the most complicated technique so that it becomes easy to learn. Here your age, gender, or level of physical ability doesn’t matter, it’s a special place where everyone, regardless of belt color, helps each other to learn, challenges you in a good way, and offers support. You not only learn techniques, but you immediately put them to practice in a safe and supportive environment which helps you to develop and grow. They have a wide range of class offerings at a variety of times that can fit even the busiest of schedules, for kids to adults, including Jiu-Jitsu, self-defense, Judo, and yoga! Whether you are a beginner or advanced seeking fundamentals to competition with Gi or No-Gi there is something here for you. Plus, it’s super clean!Kroyler’s philosophy in teaching and how you treat people has trickled down to each of the instructors who you can tell truly care about teaching and their students.Everyone has a personal reason for starting, but they stay here because the academy is truly special.
Its_the _rick: When I started here at Kroyler Gracie jiu-jitsu, I was nervous, then a few classes in it was amazing. The instructors here are awesome, they will work with you and help you perfect the technique. I know I definitely made the right choice!!! I love training with everyone and it's like a family here. So if your asking yourself "should I join" or "idk if can do that", let me tell you yes!!! Join and you can do it 💪🏾. So come in and be apart of this great family where everyone helps each other out and aslo have a great time rolling... 100% a positive place to be at 🤘🏽
Gavin McGuire: I genuinely can't say enough good things about Kroyler Gracie, his team of expert coaches, and the students from all walks of life at this excellent gym in Elkhart, IN. I've been a student of Kroyler's (one of the most unassuming, humble, yet infinitely knowledgeable educators you'll ever meet) for almost 2 years, and my two children joined me on the mats roughly six months ago. Jiu-jitsu has been a fun way for the three of us to challenge and encourage each other in a non-traditional manner. As someone with zero previous martial arts (or combat) experience, it's been a steep learning curve, but I've been encouraged and supported by Kroyler and his team every step along the way. They're always available by text or email and hold me accountable for my goals, which I greatly appreciate. The facilities are clean, the culture is welcoming and friendly, and Kroyler Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is a safe space for all races, creeds, and beliefs. Whether you're a hobbyist or looking to compete at the highest levels, Kroyler Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is the place for you.
Daniel Rousseau: For me, I can’t think of a better escape. I have come in stressed from work, college, my personal life, etc. but once you put the phone down, focus on what the instructors are teaching, and figuring out how to roll, you gain this sense of accomplishment from every class. Not to mention, the confidence you’re able to build from learning Jiu Jitsu is worth every penny in itself. Come in and say hi :)
Nick Lievore: Great school due to awesome instructors, great curriculum, multiple classes to choose from daily. Your going to find fitness, technique for self defense and competition, helpful teammates from blue belts to black. It’s fun, it’s effective and it’s good for you! To top it all off we have a Gracie right here in Elkhart of all places! Come meet a great group of people, learn important defense skills all while building self confidence and improving your health.
Lucas Wickey: You won’t find class availability like this anywhere else. Great instructors and learning environment
Sean Conahan: The exact type of camaraderie I’ve been looking for since being out of the military. Hospitality and friendliness from the entire gym.
johnathan trahan: I'm taylor swifts new husband Johnathan Ray Trahan I'm in need of a wing. God bless yall.

Everyone was extremely welcoming, and helped catch me up to the technique coach Kroyler was teaching.Kroyler has a systematic approach to jiu jitsu that is principles first, in a way that bleeds down to all of his students. It was one of the best lessons I’ve had in a while!Kroyler made sure to take the time to train with me and give me much needed feedback. Can’t recommend this gym enough to anyone in the area looking for a place to get started or drop in.
Angelina Davis: Ive had an awesome and fun experience within the couple weeks I’ve been going here and I already feel like I’ve learned so much! They are friendly, make you feel welcome and are always bringing your confidence up and helping you improve! I love it here, Highly recommend!
Kyle Amaral: Walking into the gym for the first time can be extremely intimidating. The entire staff is nothing but helpful and welcoming. Truly a humbling experience at this gym and this team of instructors is top notch. If you’ve always wanted to try but we’re afraid… Make the leap. Thanks for the hospitality.
Claude Doucette: Amazing group of guys! Would definitely recommend for anyone in the area!
James Littlejohn: Update - I was able to drop by again from out of town a few years later for an open mat. Unfortunately my schedule filled up so I couldn't make a class. The facility is even bigger. Lots of clean mat space. The folks were very welcoming and friendly. They were very good as well. I even had the pleasure of rolling with Professor Kroyler Gracie. He gave me great honest feedback which I really appreciated. Thank you very much for your time and I look forward to stopping back in again some time.
James McMahon: Took my daughter here while on vacation, instructors were amazing with the kids. We had a great time at this gym and will definitely come back when we're up in the area again
