Alexis Howard: I cannot recommend Chelsea enough! If I could give 6/5 stars, I would. She was flexible when we had to do a COVID-19 postponement, and was incredibly accommodating when it came to scheduling my trial session, and even helped to coordinate my hair trial as well. On the day of the wedding, she was able to accommodate a last minute request from my grandmother and helped calm me down when I got emotional as she was applying my makeup. (Her patience was unmatched! She must have reapplied my eye makeup 3-4 times because I kept crying!) Chelsea is an astonishing person and incredibly talented makeup artist, and I cannot recommend her enough! I was nervous about wearing heavy makeup, but the makeup did not look or feel heavy. I've never felt so beautiful!

Whitney Sharpe: Brides: do your trial before you enter into contract with her.When I asked her to redo my eyeliner because it started in the center of my eye with the left wing going straight out and the right going up, she said it was crooked because I had two different shaped eyes 👀 that comment shifted everything as she refused to take accountability for applying uneven eyeliner and put me down to justify it. I knew this wasn’t the kind of person to be around in my wedding day.I’ve put a photo of me w/o make up so you can see it was the makeup. MUA should work with you, not put you down. This has been a nightmare and I’ve lost $775 because she wouldn’t let me pay for the trial and walk away OR allow me to still pay her to do the other girls and I’d bring my own artist in.

From the moment I met her at my trial, I felt extremely comfortable and trusted that she was not only going to make me look amazing, but was also meticulous about hygienic practices which was something I was concerned about(I've never had my make up done). All of my bridesmaids loved their looks. Most importantly, my mom was happy and it is near IMPOSSIBLE to impress her. I’ll take it the receptionist was having a bad day or just not friendly in general. I was given an appointment date but honestly the snarkiness was too much and just not worth it to me throughout the phone call. I told her she was coming across very rude and unfriendly and to forget it! I’m sure Jessica is great but to go through a gorilla receptionist is not needed!

EmilyOlson19: I got a hair cut by Jessica about a month ago and she did a great job, no complaints there. I loved the vibe of the salon, and had been wanting a split dye for a few months so I asked her if she thought it was possible in two sessions or less. I thought I was pretty clear in stating that I did not want platinum and black, I wanted medium/dark brown and light/medium blonde. It seemed like she understood so I came in and she got to work. The dark side is okay, it’s darker than I originally wanted but it’s fine. She started in the bleach, and that’s when I should have spoken up. I know my roots process faster and I was quite uncomfortable with her technique. The front of my hair was processing for far longer than the back. Her next client came in and I could tell she was trying to rush through the rinse and tone. She put me under the dryer and I took a quick look before I left, thinking everything was fine. When I got home, I realized everything was not fine. I had two completely different colors on the blonde side. I had previously communicated that I understood that my blonde may not be perfectly one tone, but this was taking it a little too far. I called the salon. The person that answered told me I would need to contact Jessica. Later that day, Jessica called me. I told her I was unhappy and looking for a fix. She spent a solid 5 minutes telling me that I liked that hair and that it looked good, despite me repeatedly saying I did not like it. She stated that I should have known my hair was going to look like that and she did exactly what I had asked. She told me that any fix wasn’t going to be what I wanted and she didn’t know why she would even do that wouldn’t damage my hair. Luckily, I was able to fix it myself, but I do not recommend getting your hair lightened by Jessica. I was stunned at the way she attempted to convince me my hair was fine when I could clearly see, as could all my friends, that it was not fine. I will not be returning, and am deeply disappointed in the manner in which I was treated.Service:Hair coloring

AE J: Curly cut gone bad. Nice experience. Great product recommendations. Bad, bad cut! Unlike my previous Deva Cuts elsewhere, my ends are blunt and one side is visibly shorter. The shape is the dreaded curl triangle. The layers don’t add shape or volume but escape every up do. The ends of interior curls aren’t clean not having been cut in the “c” of the curl but rather many curls bluntly cut together yielding straggly ends when the curls regroup. Maybe it’s just my varied curl type but it’s so bad I’ll have to go somewhere else to fix it.

They didn’t offer to stay open late that night to fit in cancelled appointments or even a discount on services. Just overall a bad experience, especially when you have to call months in advance for an appointment.

Darkest Desires: Just got my brows done today and I am impressed, very happy with how they turned out so far. Very nice, clean atmosphere, lady who did my brows was friendly and precise. Also can't forget, the dog there was super cute and friendly, had a chance to pet him while I waited for paperwork in the beginning. Can't wait for my second session. :)

Lacey Kirby: This was my second time here because I don’t like to go off of first impressions, but I will not be coming back. I scheduled an eyebrow tint and waxing, but when I got there I stressed how sensitive my skin is because I use glycolic acid and Differin for my acne. I told her I was fine with just tweezing because I didn’t want my skin to rip, and the last time I had come they were concerned with my reaction to the strip wax since I only ever do sugaring or hard wax, which are much better for sensitive skin. She tweezed the top and mentioned that my skin was flaking, but proceeded to use the wax on the bottom anyway and completely destroyed the skin. I have bleeding and scabbing and a lot of redness. They are also uneven and too thin, on top of the fact that she dyed them a medium brown which is way too dark for me since I’m a strawberry blonde. They really hurt and I have to keep Vaseline on them because it feels like a burn on my face. I have a conference that I have to go to in a few days, so I’m hoping the redness and swelling go down soon because it currently looks like I got into a fight...

Rachel Kocher: I was just in a wedding and the entire bridal party got their makeup done by Bethza. Her team was professional, very nice and easy to work with! Our makeup was flawless and we all got many compliments. Our makeup also lasted throughout the night of dancing and Midwest humidity. Would HIGHLY recommend them for your makeup needs!

Gabriella Martinez: Awful experience with eyelash extensions here! My eyes kept watering and the women doing my extensions was very rude and inconsiderate! I believe it was owners mom but she continued to make rude remarks when I asked if it was normal for my eye balls to feel on fire! She then stated if my eyes keep watering she will rip each extension off and cancel the appointment. At the end of my appointment she said if you would have stopped crying I would have added more but you won’t stop crying! Overall horrible experience because now I am traumatized to ever even try eyelash extensions else where!

Trina Clark: It pays to buy your makeup from a company that has a tried and true reputation. Merle Norman has been around for a very long time. And every MN I've lived near knows me! Lucky for me they keep a "card" of your products and colors. Fortunately for me! I came to Mishawaka (after moving away) to attend a Christmas party and forgot my makeup! I frantically thought about running to local Meijer to purchase cheap products and remembered my MN store here ! So I rushed there w limited time to spare - no worries! She found my card and we did an impromptu make over on the spot! I'm telling you nothing beats the service of a small reputable business! I so appreciate the service, knowledge, and the attention to details (my card) and it saved the day! Not to mention money saved that I would have spent on cheap makeup that probably would not have been a good match anyway.The service to me made me feel valued and the convenience of her being able to pull up a card with ALL my products saved me SO much time and money!
