Beacon Medical Group Behavioral Health South Bend: what do users think?
Stacey Forrest: Kind doctors, kind returned phone calls from the nurse. My doctor helps me feel empowered. I feel confident of Dr Prins expertise. My prescriptions are always sent to my pharmacy after I have an appointment. No problems at all.
Jane Stevens: worst place ever. don't leave anyone in their care. they only care about $ and not family or patient health. BEWARE.
Madeline: Dr. Prins is extremely understanding and wonderful. This was the best mental health experience so far.
Kelly Faust: Terrible service from all. Don’t expect timely refills.
Courtney Copenhaver: I love my doctor but this office is terrible. I have been trying to get my medicine refilled for 13 days, have spoke to multiple people at the desk. No one is helpful or friendly. All the do is forward my call to a voicemail for a nurse who also.. NEVER calls me back. I have called multiple times a day the last several days trying to get my medicine refilled, after already having to ration it out and take less than prescribed out of fear it won’t be refilled in time. This office does not take your needs or requests seriously. I am upset and defeated at this point. A mental health office I expected so much more from. They don’t care.
Kwajalein Dodd: As most people say, "if I could give one star I would". My son's pharmacy called them for 3 days and they never called them back so that his prescription could be filled. The pharmacy reached out to me and told me this. So I called the office and left a message telling them that he was going to be out of medicine and I took care of this in a timely manner.Someone called me back from the office and do you know she actually asked me for the number? Are you kidding me? You have/had 3 voice messages, how don't you have the number! But because of the time it took for all of this to transpire, my son is now going through withdrawal because he hasn't had 2 of his 5 meds in 3 days. Thanks for making him suffer!I have to add this little tidbit. So on Feb 2, 2021 I called to see if my son could have his appointment changed to an early date rather than waiting until March because he hasn't been doing well. I was able to get him in for Feb 4th. I got the email for the appointment because it's virtual. I just went in to get ready for the appointment and it was cancelled??!!! I called and was told there was nothing they can do because someone else has that spot.. Unbelievable. In a time where teenagers are suffering the most because they can't live life, this place can't even keep stuff straight, so now we have to wait 2 more weeks. This is a total nightmare that should've never happened.
Amy Olmstead: Don't expect to get a medication change, or refill, in a timely manner. It seems like they have a "we'll get to it when we get to it" attitude. Example, call, leave a message on the nurse line, don't receive a callback that day (no matter how early you leave the message) They call in the morning on day two, speak with you and say they'll talk to your Dr. and get back to you. They don't call back at all that day. Day three, they finally call back mid-afternoon and relay what your Dr said. God forbid that you miss a call from them, because when you return the call you have to leave a message and wait yet another day to get a call back. It's stupid.
Lynae Stienbarger: Dr Reddy, the check-in staff, the nurses, EVERYONE is so amazing! Thoughtful, punctual, kind, helpful, respectful, and they truly want to help! Dr. Reddy really listens when you talk! He's been such a huge help to my daughter and I'm so grateful our family Dr. referred us to him! This has been a wonderful experience and I highly recommend this facility and team! I can't figure out why people are leaving hateful negative reviews, but mental illness can be tough for people to cope with without being nasty to others. Please don't read the reviews and decide against this wonderful team, or you'll be missing out on amazing caring people who will truly help better your life!
J Mize: I don't even know where to begin with these people. If I could give ZERO I would. I saw Dr. TEIXEIRA for about a year and he himself was great for me. However I had a run in with the office coordinator, Susan. She is a horrible person, rude, controlling, vindictive, and just all around awful! Well ever since then she had an issue with me. Cut to a few months later. My daughter's doctor there DR. Reddy, who claims to be the expert in the area wasn't listening to me. I had begged him to change my 15yr olds meds and he refused and would only up the dose by 5 mg. After giving the meds 9 months to worker still wasn't willing to switch meds. Even my child's therapist wrote a letter asking him to change the meds. Well bc he wasn't listening I asked to see a a different doctor in the practice since my child was in crisis and had to go to epworth. Well instead of getting her in the office manager lied and said I was rude when she said we couldn't change doctors and then had both myself and my child in crisis terminated from the practice. She also informed me I could never return and to make sure I knew her problem was with me she stated as long as my child was associated with me she could not return either. This woman lied and got two people who NEED psychiatric care terminated especially when one was in crisis. The doctors should not have gone along with it but corrected the course of action of not hearing a parent begging for help! I would not recommend going here as Dr. Reddy and Susan the office coordinator/manager are both terrible people. Dr. TEIXEIRA and I never had any issues to the fact that he agreed with this based solely on someone else interaction and word is also alarming. Also it takes at least a few months to get into a new doctor and they made it very clear they would ONLY provide me and my child with 30 days of meds. These people are dangerous, unkind, and not fit to be in the medical field.
kortney malone: Enjoy the support of Dr. Reddy and his Nurse. They make the appointment and medication management worth the 45 min to 1 hour drive. Excellent Dr. and Nurse! The 2 stars are for the front desk. Office staff are often a disappointment in customer service with thier curt, rude, and impatient behavior towards patients, as well as being rather challenging to work with.
777LCJ: The nurse I saw was very kind my first visit. But, when I called the office to discuss my medication, the woman who answered the phone was very rude.
Jorja Faith: I gave the this a 2 star review because my psychiatrist, Dr.Hay is very rude and talks to me aggressively. As soon as I left her room she said my father and said "It's not working and she doesn't open up." I would highly recommend a different doctor. I open up to my new psychiatrist that is very kind and listens to me when I talk with him. Dr.Hay get's paid too much insurance money to act like this towards me.
Rebecca B: Psychiatric care is in short supply throughout the entire country. This place tries to do the best they can when this field is massively underserved. My doctor almost always is very prompt and has helped with my chronic condition. And they take insurance which many private psychiatrists and psychologists don't anymore.
Chris Whatley: Highly unhappy w/ this Dr... He doesn't seem to care bout his patients & he also doesn't do what he says or changes prescribed meds to his convenience...
Lisa Kruczek: Beacon Medical Group Behavioral Health South Bend707 N Michigan St #400, South Bend, IN 46601Medical ClinicLisa Kruczek49 pointsa month agoThe doctor at Beacon Medical Behavioral Health was super nice. He was very respectful and honest. I was very nervous about going. He had a way of speaking to me that helped me feel better about the experience.
Corii Siren: **11/29/17 -- still hate this place. They could Care less about your prescriptions or if they are called in correctly. Short staffed and extremely unorganized. I wouldn't want to work there, either! This place is awful. My psychiatrist is extremely judgmental and I dread going here. She seems nice until she tries to tell me how I feel and how I SHOULD be living my life. The only reason I was referred here was to straighten out my medication. It's been over a year, my meds are fine and I can't wait to never have to go to this place ever again.
Cathi Green: Epworth is the best facility of its type and a shining example of how mental health care should be offered in the United States. They provide all around care, tools, and constant monitoring. Their team consists of medical doctors, psychiatric doctors, art and recreational therapists, nurses, and technicians. They monitor diets, medication, intake and output, make sure clothing is clean and personal hygiene is maintained. This is all around care at the highest level. Your progress is discussed daily and many group discussions can lead to self-discovery and healing.
Elizabeth: Hi, my name is Henry. I had a total hip replacement. The Tri West Care of the V.A. sent me to Health south in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It should be called hell south. I went to the bathroom three times on myself and the floor because they were to busy to answer my buzzer. Them feeding me made my diabetes go to the upper two hundreds not giving me the proper food. they twisted my foot in the wrong direction so i had to go back to the hospital for x-rays.They did not manage my pain. They did not care about me. One of the nurses handed the x-ray results to my fiance and said, you read it. The nurse in charge told us that the kitchen help is less educated and she couldn't help it that they had workers who were not intelligent. It was so bad we checked out early. People beware of where you put your loved ones, definitely not hell south. I really do not think they even deserve one star.
Timothy Douglass: This place is horrible. If you call during business hours be prepared to hold for thirty plus minutes. If you call to have a prescription refilled be prepared to call three or four times more times to remind them because they will either forget since they are horribly unorganized or they just do not care. One last thing, your scheduled appointments will be canceled at least fifty percent of the time so don't be surprised if you have to reschedule and told you have to wait another month.
Michele Woody: After being released from Epworth for a suicide attempt, my adult daughter (21) was refereed to a female psychiatrist here. She was diagnosed with BPD/BP. I tried desperately to contact this Dr. to receive help on how to deal with this mental illness. I understand HIPA laws prevented her from discussing my daughters treatment, but she was absolutely non responsive to pleas for help with how to help my child who was living with me and still experiencing symptoms. I begged for joint appointments, separate appointments, support groups anything to "help me help her". Nothing. Nada. Most times couldn't even get a callback from nurse. Elizabeth Hays should be ashamed of herself.

Oaklawn Psychiatric Center: what do users think?
Chuck Bowen: Their peer recovery team is full of rockstars! They work around the clock meeting people where they’re at and holding them accountable in their recovery journey. They will also work quickly to get those in need into inpatient treatment. Love this team!
Mark Pedzinski: neglects endangered severely mentally ill and gets away with it! I guess I'll efile civil tort suit against them for gross negligents!
T C: Update if you care at all about your well-being this is NOT the place to go. Therapist will discriminate because you are poor. Mine did ..Her Name Sarah ... if you have her as a Therapist you better not be poor, n you better have a ride or she will drop you. Her friend boss Emily called me with no resolution. They have blood on their hands. Cause if they are doing this to me they are doing this to other people and that's not healing. This place is very much the problem. not a solutionI hope and pray whoever is reading this do not waste your energy on this forsaken place.I put my faith n energy in my healing...just to be played by my therapist n her supervisor Brenda . They don't care.. epworth staff is cold. No questions answered cold tone..no one cares . Hopefully someone on the 800 suicide hotline does...
Rwings73: Very professional. The therapists and counselors are great.
Jacqlynn Lee: My anger and anxiety keeps getting worse
Darth Banana: The Tip Advisor program at Oaklawn got me out of a very difficult situation. There was a place I was living at that was constantly having Covid lockdowns so most of the time I couldn't go outside much less get a job. However having someone from the outside vouching for me and helping me work towards getting me a new place to live was crucial for me getting the place that I live in now. If you are unable to become independent by yourself for any reason I highly recommend the Tip Advisor program at Oaklawn.
R B: I do not recommend SK
Luke Taylor: This place causes more trauma than they fix. Lol.
Jennifer Phillips: Trying to write prescriptions for medication i told them does not work and it's physically harming my body. Also trying to write prescriptions for medication that I have not taken in over 2 years because they've been recalled and discontinued. Oaklawn you have not helped me once not even with case management when they said they would be there at certification for rent and you never showed up or answered your phone. You guys did more harm than good you're supposed to help not hurt. Sad I have given you guys chance after chance to be professional with my mental health and my needs and you didn't. I now have to find a new facility.
Kristin Baker: Every single time I’ve even called this place the receptionist has been EXTREMELY rude. She has a horrible attitude and rather than try to help people who obviously need it she just makes our situations worse. I would never recommend anyone to go here because of her. People in fragile mental states don’t need attitude from someone who accidentally got a name wrong. Yes she got very very snippy because I accidentally got a doctors name mixed up. Ma’am if you see this go get a new job in a warehouse where your NOT around other people.
Free Money: Amazing amazing amazing. Oaklawn has truly saved my life more than once. They care and I promise if you open yourself up to their care they won't give up on you and your fight to recovery and health will never end! And there is hope when hope is lost. Thank you Oaklawn.A special personal thank you to Dr. Brucker, Lorie, and Stephanie. You all have impacted and continue to impact my life in such a positive way that I am able to continue living and fighting to live a healthy happy life because of you all! I'm forever greatful!
Heather Martin: I cannot speak for other departments, but the adult clinical therapists are all caring and well-trained. As part of this team, I know first-hand that my supervisor and all fellow therapists put in our all for clients. I've worked 2 other places and they were unorganized, burnt out, and full of gossip. This is a supportive and well-organized place. If you are looking for therapy, we are here for you and will do our best.
A.: Beth was very rude and under-minding while I was setting my appointment. She laughed at me and said a heartless apology.
Alex Walker: A highly unprofessional impression from this place.I called them to set up services, and the lady on the phone was extremely unsympathetic and rude. Like I’m not sorry I’m new and asking questions about the process and protocol of your facility. I was also on the waitlist at one point. They never called or left the three voice mails like they said they would. Now I’m on the wait list again, despite the lady suggesting that it was hopeless and to just get private services. She needs to either be retrained or fired, because as a behavioural health receptionist you can’t be making your potential clients feel like garbage when they seek help for already feeling like garbage. If you can, I’d avoid seeking help from here. If their therapists are anything like the first line of people you meet, then that is one big YIKE!
Amy K. Andrews: Trash.
Rosemary Wessel: I think that they try to help, but aren't as good as some. What can I say about them; they have too many people to care for and to little time.
Herb Bolden: Beautiful Scenery
James Kauzlarich: A decent place for low cost psychiatric care. But the front desk staff in the Physicians floor can be extraordinary rude and unsympathetic. Especially if you mention any displeasure with Oaklawn's rules, they seem to take it as a personal insult, and really need to get a job outside of psychiatric care, because they are not suited for it. They are also discouraging when you come to make an appointment, or pick up patient assistance medications, Etc. They often don't know what they're talking about, so don't let them discourage you from what you're trying to do and insist that they pass on messages to the people and doctors you are trying to contact.
Yvonne Sanders: Oaklawn was one of the best out patient office's in South Bend. I was a patient there for 15 year's! I've been with several different Psychiatrists over the year's! My Psychiatrist took it upon herself to stop prescribing me my medication! She has power issue's and is by far the worst psychiatrist I've ever had. One time she was looking at my medication list on her phone and accused me of taking prescription pain pills and I told her I didn't. She then proceeded to threaten me with a blood draw. I told her ok! She just dropped it because she knew I could pass the blood test! She is rude, don't ever set a glass or a bottle of water on her desk! She is a germ freak. Started seeing her in 2016! My other psychiatrist left Oaklawn, Beatrice Brewer! Going to my appointments when she was there was fun and down to earth! Dr. Brewer you are missed by many of us! So August 29th, 2018 she stopped prescribing me my medications. Didn't even give me a 30 day notice. She is condescending, repeating my name over and over again. Very unprofessional to say the least! Whoever ever reads this I wish you the best of luck! I've never missed an appointment in 15 year's! When I missed an appointment, she threatened me in her own way! ! She is a control freak and I feel bad for other patient's who can't advocate on their own behalf! When it comes to medication changes, the decision should be made by both the patient and Psychiatrist! She doesn't see it that way! What a shame! Thank god that there are other mental health facilities!
Phil Eddy: HORRIBLE, STATE & FEDERAL MENTAL HEALTH LAW BREAKERS, MENTALLY ABUSIVE & VERBALLY, OVER MEDICATING PRESCRIBED DOCTORS,CASEWORKERS OVER LOAD WITH TOO CLIENTS NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR EVERYONE, ETC; ETC;

Behavior Services & Therapy: what do users think?
Ashlee Herzog: Absolutely terrible. The receptionists are nice but the doctor was unprofessional and unhelpful. He failed to provide much needed paperwork after we had called in multiple times as well as went in person to request it be sent. His techniques are outdated and he failed to listen or to thoroughly review our case. The only benefit to going here is our insurance covered the cost. I don’t think the service provided was worth a dime.
Nick Epson: While I truly appreciate the help received while my daughter was in the care of Ms. Brewster, the organization is incredibly irresponsible. One of the biggest problems we discussed about my family is my daughter's mother not getting things done or making an effort to get the proper care of our daughter like a custodial parent should - this was literally communicated on day one as the crux of our problem but lo-and-behold, we get discharged because mom misses several appointments back-to-back.But this is where it where it gets even more frustrating: after the first no-call/no-show there's a "probation" period for the client, which is understandable. After two times, it becomes grounds for termination but rather than contact me about any of these missed appointments or given an option (e.g., pay cash for missed appointments) I was simply sent an email a day before my next scheduled appointment indicating our following appointment would be a discharge date. This matter is immensely frustrating considering we when vacated a court date the following week for custody, as an agreement was thankfully made that stated my daughter would remain under Ms. Brewster's care. Now, all this has to go in front of a judge eventually so I've requested a copy of missed dates to be sent over. Despite our missed dates being such an inflexible issue that we had to be discharged, they can't seem to even get the paperwork over showing the schedule/missed date which would only take a moment if there were an inkling of communication in this broken organization.
Emily Silva: This place is the worst! Never a call back. someone really close to me needed help and they would always say that they would call back but never did! They literally ghosted us.The Melissa, CMHIMP therapist is a horrible human being. She made this person that’s close to me cry at their job. This person I am talking about is a server at a restaurant and was literally bullied by their former therapist, Melissa. They were in tears and suffered emotional distress after Melissa yelled at and mistreated them. They told her a lot of things sensitive in nature that they needed help for and this lady has the audacity to bully a child, she gave therapy to, at their job!!!! DO NOT GO HERE THESE PEOPLE ARE TRASH HUMAN BEINGS!
Kenny Helbling: Very poor service. If they can't help you they drag there feet giving you what you need to get help somewhere else. Been waiting over a almost 2 months for a letter and results so we can take my son to get the treatment he needs that they can't provide. They don't answer calls or return calls at all. Told us they can't give us what the other office is asking for. Told us the other office has to call them but the other office says they can't because that would violate HIPPA so BST doesn't even understand HIPPA laws. Take your child anywhere else if you want reliable and responsive service.
Erika Sheldon: If I could give a negative review I would. I missed an appointment because they had to reschedule it, then they scheduled it on a day I had to work and didn’t remind me like they usually do. I called them to see when my next one was and they said oh we canceled your services because you didn’t show up. They never texted me. And they had it scheduled during the time I was at work
Marcie Howard: I really like the psychologist I saw at my first appointment but I can't get ahold of anyone to reschedule my next appointment. I have left 3 voice mails and do not get a return phone call. I also sent testing paperwork to the email address I was given and no idea whether that has been received either. Their rules are that they'll stop seeing you if you miss an appointment but yet they never contact you back to reschedule. Took a long time to get into this place only to now have to find somewhere else to go.
M W: They suspend services if you cancel an appointment. They are very hard to schedule with, high staff turnover, and over 2 year waiting list for services.
Cuddles Hill: I have Kaylyn rose for music therapy she is phenomenal. I have Mrs. Holly for behavioral therapy yes we had a misunderstanding but since that got cleared up we have gotten along.apparenrly we have more in common. I have Audrey Amy therapist for individual therapy. I enjoy my sessions with her cause she is understanding but professional plus sheisnot pussycat when Irvine to personal issues.

Stepwise: what do users think?
Michelle L: Professional and caring. I work in the medical field so I am usually quite aware of my surroundings, quality of care, professionalism...etc. The building is decorated beautifully and tastefully. Easily welcomed by kids and families. When meeting with the Dr's they are very nice and attentive. I loved the feeling I get when I walk in and know everything will be done properly and professionally.

Psych Pointe: what do users think?
Jessica Fansler: I’m am having such a hard time with my new NP. She was so open and understanding at first, and then decided she was going to downgrade my anxiety meds and eventually wants me to get off every single maintenance medication that took me over 15 years to find the right combo that fit. I have GAD, ADD, BI-POLAR 1, PTSD… and a new baby. It really wasn’t good timing to change everything up all of a sudden! I will be looking for a new Dr somewhere else. They have been really very good in past with me and Justin who answers the phone is great… I just happened too loose all respect for them after my last appointment. Then, the NP dismissed me at the end of my email to her asking why she was doing this.. and at the end, after only seeing me once before… said at the end that I could always get another NP or Dr. at another practice if I’m not satisfied. That was a diss and dismiss. All I wanted was help! And it takes forever to get in with another practice with my insurance that also does med management and not just therapy. Both are important though. I know that. I just needed help and I still do!! And it seems like no one wants to listen to me. 😞Ps. They are not all like that here. Just an FYI. It was my own personal experience. Don’t let it deter you if they’re treating you right.
Lucky MM: I went to Psych Pointe for therapy for a couple of months and worked with Anita Wigfall. Ms. Wigfall was terrible at keeping our scheduled sessions. On three occasions I arrived to the office only to be told I didn’t have an appointment. There was never an apology and I was made to feel like it was my mistake each time. I never cancelled an appointment and was always a few minutes early. I stopped seeing Anita after she changed her schedule and she didn’t have room in her schedule for me anymore. I would never return to Psych Pointe for therapy.
takisha jacobs: i have seen amanda for awhile now and i am a much better person with her help. I am now a firm believer in therapy! i had to shop around but i am so glad i didnt give up!I highly recommend psych pointe!!!!!
ashley flores: Have been going for a few months now and this is my first time trying out therapy sessions. I always feel really good walking out. Ivette always makes me feel comfortable opening up and gives me many tools and information to help me on my journey. Every visit is a pleasant experience. From front desk to back very professional and kind.
Carmen Salisbury: Horrible. Don't waste your time and money on this doctor.
BRENDA SWANSON: I have been seeing my therapist Regina Rozenblit at Psych Pointe for a few months now and I am already seeing a positive change in myself. Her techniques are spot on and so helpful and easy to use daily. I am 52 years old and have known most of my life I needed to get into therapy. The no judgement in our sessions makes it very easy to open up about issues and my thoughts. I highly recommend getting into therapy and I have been very happy with Psych Pointe.
Brenda Holleman: I have had a great experience with my counselor Regina she is very good at knowing what kind of plan of treatment is perfect for you she can get to the root of your problems and start to heal them she is very kind and patient with me I really need that now she is the best.
Mike R: My child saw Regina for therapy. She really seemed to understand the unique struggles we faced. it has helped our family a lot, really recommend Regina. Also appreciate the nice location and office
Isabel Rondo: The office manager, Justin, is super helpful. When working as a case manager I was referring people to this office, I’d let him know and he’d help them out when my clients called. This was when they were first opening up and waitlists weren’t being used yet, but I continue to hear good things about the front desk experience.
Mary Armock: My daughter had a tough time during COVID and we sought out some help for her. My daughter seemed fine with the in person meetings, she said they didn't talk a lot, but did meditate along with some other coping mechanisms. We had to switch to virtual appointments and the sessions went from 1 hour in person to 25-30 min virtual and they charged me for the full hour. All they did was meditate. My daughter did not find this helpful. When I reached out to cancel her appointments, the therapist did not ask why or care.
