Maybe not…About a month ago, I wanted to try something different and was in the mood for Mexican cuisine. I performed a search on Google Maps for something nearby and Franky’s Tacos popped up. My wife and I decided to give them a try and we were far from being disappointed!We have dined (or taken out) there every week since (tonight was our 5th time)!It has been several years since I have felt such great satisfaction from enjoying a meal and Franky’s Tacos hits “the spot” every single time!They have daily specials at an unbelievable low price! I met the owner during my second to last visit. I approached him and said he could easily raise the prices and I would still pay. (Yes. They’re that good!)The restaurant is always busy and there’s always customers coming and going picking up orders. Yet, there’s no sense of chaos. Franky’s environment is cool, calm and collected. Our server Hebron is always attentive to us, religiously checking in to inquire if we have any needs.In conclusion; if you’ve never tasted the divinely inspired food that is Franky’s Tacos, you’ve lived a life not worth living.My new favorite restaurant. It's hard to find a really good Mexican restaurant, and this place is definitely a diamond in the rough. The service we recieved was top notch, felt very welcoming and all our needs throughout our meal were met. This place is definitely infested with cockroaches, which is disgusting. I’ve been reading the reviews and I see a few people have the same response. I reported this restaurant to the USDA Food and Safety Inspection Services. As well as the South Bend Health Department.
Sassy Green: If you like roaches! This is the best place for it. I seen a roach crawl across the floor. I got up to confirm that it was indeed a roach! Let the waitress know that we didn't even want our food that hadn't yet made it to us. Paid for our drinks and got the hell up out of there! NEVER AGAIN!!!🤢

Very pleasant and accommodating customer service. They put the world foods aisle at your local grocery to absolute shame. They have a fresh produce department as well as a meat counter. Showme How400 (All0wM3): I always enjoy eating here! I only go here when they have the what used to be $1 taco but are now $1.50 taco special, so take that into account for my review. For the price of the special the tacos are pretty good depending on what you get. The pork (al pastor) tacos were a bit lacking in seasoning. I provided a pic below. I'd recommend the steak tacos! The steak is seasoned well and if you like your tacos Mexican style (cilantro & onion) you'll enjoy the flavor! This place has a LOT of other food choices, including breakfast but I have not tried any of it. The only other items I'd suggest are the chicken quesadilla and french fries! ~Ya I suggested fries from a Mexican restaurant haha! The former comes with refried beans in it so order accordingly. Trust me, the French fries are pretty tasty. Give'em a try!

Both times they close before they say they are closed and they have it hours posted. Noone answers the phone regardless if its before closing. Christina Manderfeld: Passing through on the way to Minnesota from Maryland- we were so hungry!! As soon as we walked in we were welcomed with smiles and sat at a large comfortable booth. Our waitress was kind and made sure we had everything we needed, down to the smallest detail. Our meals were not only delicious, but also made from the freshest ingredients. I had the spicy shrimp - which I highly recommend. The beef burritos that my husband ordered were perfect, my son's quesadilla was so gooey and cheesy - he was delighted. The meal was so well presented, my son decided to try rice and beans mixed together for the first time and he LOVED it. We were in a bit of a hurry as we travel with 4 dogs, so they made sure we had a delicious dinner in a timely manner. As we were leaving, the restaurant started to fill up more and every customer was treated like family. I overheard folks ask about how the owner was, which tells me that this place has repeat diners, always a great sign. Thank you for making our trip thru your town dee-licious.

Maureen Barth: Wonderful family owned restaurant. Catered our party of 25 on a Notre Dame game day with just a four hour notice. The chicken and shrimp fajitas were a huge hit with the college kids. The guacamole was over the top delicious and authentic. Very generous portions. The kind owner, Juan, even made a special delivery, during a snow storm ❄️ to deliver the tortillas that we realized were missing from our order. The pork meat has no flavor at all. The tamales are so dry & to much masa. The potato sticks was dry and seems like the were made a week ago. How do you mess up tacos? The only thing that was ok was the Mexican corn, & that's being generous. So disappointed.

Aaron Vardaman: I put 1 star only cuz when I've went there around 6 pm there is signs that say closed on the drive thru and I call and no answer. So either I have bad luck or those signs are always there and they are open.
Curves Galore: No! Not at all. Food was bland, steak felt over cooked and chewy/tough, the chicken was super bland like it was seasoned with just black pepper, onion and cilantro were cut into big weird chunks so was the “chicken square” pieces I had on my Taco, the nachos TERRIBLE, not enough cheese and the meat tasteless. Glad they are down on the end near mayflower rd cause the “BIG DOGS” are further down Western Ave, if you want real Mexican food go town the other end, the only good thing about the restaurant was the customer service, I give it to them they were friendly and very professional they get 10 for that, the food a 2.
