Lydick Bog: what do users think?
highway heros: Great short hiking area and you get to see some unique landscape. Has bathrooms and a covered picnic area as well.Restrooms: Just a set of restrooms didn't use myself, but they were in nice looking from the outsideDog-friendliness: It's a walking trail, so dogs are allowed, but I wouldn't let off leash if your dog wonders. Otherwise, it's gonna smell like bog waterPicnic area: Nice covered picnic area with tables not much parking so I wouldn't throw a party
Scott Shelhart: Nice trail walk, even in the snowVisited on Weekday …More

Carmella Paver: Wonderful place to take a walk in nature. Very nice trails.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …More
Dave Miller: Nice place to take a walk. There is an easy path to follow for about a mile and a half walk. There are several platforms that extend our over wetlands and a small lake to give a better view. While walking you need to be careful of the tree roots that extend across the walking path. There are some small hills on the trail. In the summer you will need to have bug spray. If it has rained recently the path can be very muddy in some areas. The parking lot is not very big and the road into the parking lot is marked with a sign. It is a gravel road that actually looks like a driveway. There are covered picnic tables available but I didn't notice any place that you could grill. There is a portable outhouse near the parking lot.Restrooms: There is a portable outhouse near the parking lot.
Robert Long III: great hikeVisited on Weekend Wait time No wait Price for adult entry Free …More
Emily Miller: Nice trails in praire and wooded areas with boardwalks out into the Bog.
Bill Cleveland: Lydick Bog Nature preserve is easy to get to and it’s entrance well marked to help find it. The parking area is very ample with a large picnic pavilion. A newer trail on the west side goes to an elevated boardwalk that reaches out over the bog. Unfortunately, this trail is not on some of the maps. The absence on some of the signs is understandable. However, the paper maps available for taking with you on your hike need to be updated. The trails are well marked and maintained to make a walk through very easy. Lots of plants in bloom with plenty of insects and birds.
Kristine Simons: Special place close to South Bend, with hiking trails and an accessible boardwalk over looking the bog. A variety of ecosystems from hardwoods to prairie. A pavilion with picnic tables is near the parking lot
BluJay: Beautiful new boardwalk and area. You can make it a long walk or a short one real easy.
j s: Nice local place for hike with dog. Really like the boardwalk, and informative signs about the flora and fauna.
Michael Webber: Wonderful boardwalk over the bog, good hiking trails and unspoiled woods.
Thomas Cera: A wonderful nature preserve located just west of South Bend on US20. It has new restrooms and a large picnic area for gatherings. The trail is well groomed and well marked. There are informational signs along the route. The big is one of the last remaining of it’s quality. Watch for rare plants and wildlife.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry Free …More

James Funk: This nature reserve has a very nice walkway to get an overview of the area. It also has a wonderful wooded area for a relaxing stroll.
The Dude: Big park with lots to do. Trails are wide and well maintained. You have no access to either lake. There's no beach or any way I found to get out to them.

Bertrand Hochwald: Nice place, beautiful setting. Small lake with boardwalk thru marshes. Highly recommended.
Robert Holmer: I took a walk with my dog.

Mary Pryke: They have bathrooms and they are always clean. Nice trails. Tables to eat at. Always clean nothing bad to say

Beverly D. Crone Restoration Area: what do users think?
Toner211: Incase anyone needs a reminder, there is a leash law. Please respect others and properly mind your canine friend! Some people/dogs wish not to be approached
Phil Crone: Named for my grandma who was St. Joe County’s first female County Commissioner and Auditor. She spent much of her retirement in the garden and would have loved this place. Honored to know her memory lives on here.
Scott Nielsen: Couldn't find a place to part. Very poor signage!
Elliot Lee: This is a former landfill that has been turned into a nature preserve with gravel walking trails. There are lots of birds to see if you're a birder, a few miles of trails. We love to come here on Saturday afternoons with the kids - it's a place for them to safely ride their bikes beyond the confines of the driveway.
Karen Brown: What a wonderful nature preserve! If you are a birder, it is a great place to see a variety of grassland birds, as well as a diverse collection of plants and wildflowers. Highly recommended to bird and nature lovers!
Tom Rozek: Great place to walk dogs as long as people pick up the dog's mess
Zachary Frieben: A very nice place for a country walk. Lots of birds around for the bird lovers like me :)

Keshava Mysore: A must and should place if you are a avid birder, great trails for hiking, running or biking
Justin Kintzele: Great place to walk or jog, and the best place around to find Bobolink.
