Beacon Medical Group North Central Neurosurgery South Bend: what do users think?
sue rosencrantz: The scheduler, Melissa, made me an appointment at the last minute because I was in extreme pain.Laura Wilkerson, NP took special care and referred me to a pain management physician and I got in right away.So grateful.
Kim Thompson: The neurosurgeon are the best
Michael James Sr: I don't have words to describe how much I enjoyed the treatment I got.
Ava Lillmars: Respectfully quoted by Joan N.Dr. Stephen Michael Smith100 Navarre Pl Suite 6600South Bend IN 46601Dr. Smith:Please find this letter to extend my deepest thanks to you and your team’s marvelous surgical service for me last year, late summer 2020.After more than 10 years of being in constant and debilitating pain, you have provided a total health recovery for me. It was the best decision I made and I cannot thank you enough. Our community is extra lucky to have you continue to provide your surgical skills, devotion, and expertise to many suffering individuals. Please know that you have a special gift and the team around you only makes that experience totally positive. With healthy regards,Joan Nsubmitted
Edward O Foster Sr.: Straight forward answers.
TheBrewmore 26: The spinal reconstruction/fusion I had was no doubt a success performed by a very talented surgeon and highly functional and knowledgeable team. But the before and after care has not been the best, I’m a 6 ft 200 lb male and they commonly under prescribe my meds as if I’m a 100 lb female and they did/do not listen to me well at all during pre and especially post op check ups. A very non personable atmosphere here. Don’t get me wrong, the surgeons are highly talented but everything else is just a cash cow meat market getting them in and out as fast as can be while taking little time or interest to hear and/or understand the current post op condition of the patient to the point that I am seeing a different neurosurgery group for my nerve rehabilitation and pain management going forward. But once again, from a surgical standpoint reconstructing a spine from massive trauma, these people have phenomenal surgical skills and knowledge, I feel fortunate that I found myself here during a life critical massive trauma incident. They did a marvelous job of putting my spine back together again.
John Bealor: Excellent. Experience
Flora Tibbetts: my mom (the patient) is 87 and has nerve back pain. she has been treated so special here. the treatments for pain went well. they treat her so with kindness and professionalism.
Tammy Steinke: I have never been more disappointed in a Dr. As I am In Dr. Hanlon. As a person suffering from neurological illnesses you expect a Dr to be able to perform their own specialty. I did every thing this Dr asked, got all my records to her for her to review.Well stupid me.....here I was thinking that she wanted this information so when I became a patient we would have a game plan started. Well unbelievably I received a phone call today from her office (Not the Dr. Herself) telling me they won't take me as a patient because they feel they can't help me. It sounded so stupid, I don't know if I was more ticked off or entertained by the ridiculousness of the sheer stupidity of what was being said to me. Well both feelings have hit me and I feel that this needs to be seen by other potential patients. This has to make anybody with even half a brain go, WHAT?First of all if your a Neurologist and you practice Neurology then doesn't it automatically mean you deal with neurological issues. So when you tell a patient you refuse to take them because their too complicated, aren't you really saying I don't know how to do my job??? You did get a degree in Neurology, to be called a Neurologist? So then what's the problem?I have Pseudotumor cerebri, chronic migraines and fibromyalgia. Are these unusual, never seen conditions by a Neurologist? Maybe I needed an ingrown toe nail to make the patient list.Either way this Dr. Has failed her profession and has made a person who suffers immensely, feel as though her life and ailments are untreatable. What a thing to make another human being feel. I pray that you or anyone you love never encounters the same type of treatment.

Dr. Walter S. Langheinrich, MD: what do users think?
Kathy Calvetti: He is the very best surgeon I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He has fixed my back several times and I've been pleased with the results every time. My problem is progressive so one fix doesn't fix it.
Edward Hartley: Horrible,All he did holler and curse at me. Did not address my back problem.
TheBrewmore 26: Dr. Walter Langheinrich and his incredible team are some of the most intelligent, highly skilled surgeons in the world if you ask me. These are incredible people led by an unbelievably gifted neurosurgeon with decades of medical and surgical knowledge under his belt. On Oct 20 2019 I was Flown in by helicopter after a 24 foot fall from a tree stand left me with a fractured C-1 in my neck at the base of my skull, T1 thru T6 Vertebrae broken, A fisher crack in my sternum, 9 broken ribs, and a partially torn then clotted coratid artery. My risk of stroke during surgery was rather high so they devised a plan of different medications at different times over the course of days while they added 4 bags of blood in my body to help negate the risk of stroke during surgery by having maximum blood volume coursing through me. They also gave me multiple I.V. ports and had a response game plan ready to go in case things went south during surgery and a stroke occurred. What was to be about a 4 hour surgery ran just past 8 hours without any complication. I came out of that surgery with 2 titanium rods along each side of my spine measuring close to 1 ft long each from my neck down between my shoulder blades and screws drilled into T1-T6 Vertebrae that all had to be repaired and then set in place and screwed into with giant titanium screws. They used bone graft from my body as well as a life donor to help stabilize and promote new bone growth for the fusion process. I should never have been able to walk again but yet 2 DAYS after reconstructive spinal fusion surgery I was able to walk again with a walker and by day 4 I was walking so well I was cleared for discharge. I am now 3 weeks post operation as I write this. I am completely off all walking assistance device’s and starting to be on my feet like it’s a normal day. My pain level has been tolerable most of the time with small dosage prescription medications taken at regular intervals doing the trick. I’m slowly regaining more feeling every day as nerves continue to heal and respond in my spine. This wasn’t just a simple 2 or 3 vertebrae fusion. This man completely rebuilt a large section of my thoracic spine and did it so well that I can walk normal again less than 1 month after surgery. Does he have great bedside manner, no, not at all, but his team does and they worked very well together informing me and talking with me the patient. Does Dr. Langheinrich have brilliant surgical skills and intelligence beyond what most doctors do? ABSOLUTELY YES!! This is my life owed to them and my truth told about a Doctor and his team being one of the best surgical groups on this planet........Period
Judy Bennett: Not a good bedside mannerI went there because my primary physician sent meMy problem was my lumbarHe operated in the thorax and said if I didn’t have the surgery I would not walk in 5 years the way things are right now I will probably not be walking in 2 yearsHe also said that all of my other problems would be better. Wrong they are worseNever again will he touch my backAll follow up are with the NPWhich never told me anythingI would never recommend this place !!!!!My surgery was in September 2018
Ann Jentz: Excellent surgeon and an honest man. A little blunt at first but definitely cares about his patients and wants the best for them.
Vickie: Nice staff, good at getting in on time. Doctor Langheinrich is a very good doctor, straight forward and honest. I like that.
Scott Burns: Gave me back my quality of living
Julie Harris: Excellent physician and Staffing. They listen and acknowledge what's going on with you and explain everything in detail, very personal. Also answers questions that you may have. Straight to the point.
Jessica Kealy: He's very fast paced in the office, but when it comes time for your surgery, he'll take as much time as needed. My 6 hour surgery ended up taking 9! He is way beyond thorough and will absolutely take the best care of you. But, if you don't like being told exactly how it is (he's very blunt), I'd recommend a different surgeon. Me personally? I prefer someone with the skills to adequately and successfully perform my surgery over someone's bedside manner. I would recommend him to anyone! And if i need another surgery in the future, i hope he'll be the one doing it.
Kathy Deisenroth: Dr Langheinrich is a neurosurgeon. He operated on me in 1995 & my husband twice in 2009 & 2010. Very skilled surgeon. He listens even when you think he is not listening. He knows what to take in and what to discard. He gets down to business. That is what you want in a neurosurgeon.
Dan Davis: A very caring and skilled neurosurgeon. Highly respected among his peers. Best neurosurgeon in South Bend.

Dr. David W. Cockerill, MD: what do users think?
Susan Kay: Dr. David Cockeril was "let go from the practice" of Northwest Indiana Neurosurgery sometime shortly after 2009. Unfortunately, this was AFTER he'd performed a single level C5-6 spinal fusion for a disc herniation for me.His professional demeanor was sorely lacking: He was cold, rude, incurious, and short in his manner & interactions; he omitted serious information regarding complications during my surgery, and sold my 'case' to a collection agency even though he was paid in full. Their insurance department performance was unsatisfactory and quite unprofessional; Acquiring post-op records was curiously, and unnecessarily difficult when I sought records for another opinion; Insurance worker was unmotivated, and dishonest in her duties. My surgical outcome was poor: I was left with 'failed back syndrome' and remain in serious chronic pain because of it.IMHO, I would not recommend seeking treatment at this office.

Mariann McPhail: He did 5 levels in my back. He's a great surgeon. And also 2 levels in my neck. Several years ago.
Aaron Beeks: All around good dude..and his nurse.great team.
Tonya Barnett: Dr. Losiniecki has been, by far, the best neurosurgeon I have seen! He has the best bedside manner. His office staff is great! Great atmosphere! He will be taking care of all my future spinal needs!
Debra Bonardi: Dr. Losiniecki graciously looked at my exrays on a Wednesday, saw me at his office on Friday and did back surgery on Tuesday. I woke to no more pain after a year of pain that went down my back and right leg to my foot.Dr.Losiniecki is friendly and kind. I recommend him to everyone that tells me they have back pain.
Samuel Pierce: I couldn’t be happier with Dr. Losiniecki’s work. Although my recovery has been slow, and some symptoms continue after 6 months, his office is quick to respond to any issues. More importantly, I can actually move my neck around now. It took a year of suffering and dead ends to get the treatment, but I am finally improving.
Judith Arndt: Dr. losiniecki did my neck surgery a couple of years ago and I was so please d with him and my surgery. He had very good bedside manner and took ample time with me.
Chris Coad: Dr. Losiniecki is an amazing Dr! My very first every immediate surgery was back surgery and he and his team made it nothing short of a great experience. He knows what hes doing. He is very friendly and listens to all concerns. I would recommend anyone and everyone to him!
Anthony Scott: Doctor took out too much bone, a rod was broken in my back, would not return calls after having major headaches from spinal fluid leaking, he did not go down far enough on fusion, had to go to Dr. Deepak Reddy who fixed things and did a wonderful job
Wanda shock: Wonder doctor! Found the problem with my husband's back when other doctors just prescribed therapy and exercise and encouraged shots. Dr. Losiniecki operated on my husband's back and now after 6 pins, two rods and a bar my husband is back to normal. Before Dr. Losiniecki we thought he would need his walker forever. We are very, very grateful.
