However, given a choice, I will always deal with K-Wood!I'm a firm believer in that you get what you pay for. This place is a gold mine to me. Anything I need, they can get it. Any question I have, they can answer it and throw ideas at me as well for things I didn't consider. It's to a point now where they know what I want or need even before I do!You don't get personalized service at the big stores- no immediately asking to help you, and in the big stores, you are dealing with a lot of clueless people that work there, and even though they might have been in a department a long time, they can still not know what they are talking about and are offended if you question their views- based on making sales.K-Wood's goal is quite obviously to please the customer, first and foremost. There's been more than once occasion where they could have sold me higher priced items and I would have been clueless, but they sold me what I needed instead. That says a lot about this friendly group of people, all hard working and aiming to please.I will always deal with local businesses before the chain stores if I can. I need them and they need the customers to support them so they will always be there for me.I appreciate them and their patience with me- all of them!

I utilize their delivery service as I don't have a vehicle to transport long pieces (8' to 10' long).Panels are always on my list as I don't have room in my shop to do large qlue-ups.Photos are 120 BF of red oak and some red oak panels that I had delivered.

Tai Gunter: I've been shopping here for a few years for my woodworking needs. This is a fantastic shop that has great capacity to serve any woodworker from the novice to advanced.They have a good selection of wood inside their main space, which is already dimensioned and planed down to a certain thickness. This is great if you don't have the tools to mill the lumber or if you need a small piece of an exotic wood to use as an accent.Their back space is a huge selection of rough wood - great if you have a planer and jointer and can mill the lumber yourself. If you can't mill the lumber yourself, they will do it for you - I've had this service done and they do a great job. It is my preferred method of buying wood since they do it for such a low price that it's worth the cost to have them do it. They also have great plywoods back here for cabinetry and other panel work.They have a good selection of tools as well and sell all the major brands. Of course they'll order anything they don't have. The only thing I'd say is lacking here is hardware like hinges, drawer slides, etc., but this is admittedly hard to keep in stock since there are thousands of different options and combinations.The new management here is doing a fantastic job of making people feel welcome and comfortable entering the hobby. Anthony is a great addition to their staff.

Asked for two pieces of pine 12” x 57”, to be told they don’t cut lumber like that ( always have in the past) told me they only had a 12 footer and (with condensending voice) that is $21. Don’t determine my wealth by the clothes I wear or the car I drive. I always came here to support local business, have spent hundreds of dollars with custom cuts and your going to treat me like a homeless person. Shame on you Zeeland in Mishawaka, shame on you. You will get no more of my money, I will gladly drive 20 minutes for lumber

Pete Ciula: I purchased my entire new home construction package from Big C Roseland when I built my new home a few years ago. I am preparing to enclose a rear porch area and want to use Marvin Windows. Big C did a great job on my home, so I didn't hesitate to go to them for my window and door package. I called Big C, they said I had to talk to Scott and took my number. Three days later I finally received a return call, I understood....everyone is busy. I spoke with Scott Bunkleman (spelling?) and explained my project to him. I even went to the extent of sizing windows and giving him model numbers. He scheduled (2) separate visits to my home to quote my project (at his request). The first meeting he called me 10 minutes before he was to be at my home and said he was still an hour away. I understood, and rescheduled for exactly a week later. This meeting he just plain did not show up. I called the office in Roseland, he said he "forgot". I took time off work for both of these meetings. Very disappointing, what a huge lack of customer service.

They have a lot of things that the blue and white competitor doesn't. I have always gone to the competitor but think I might be making more visits here when I need something. Now this was just one trip so I will adjust the review as needed if anything changes but, customer service was great and answered questions I had on the location of products and such.

Bob Bobby: They refused a refill on a legal certified 100lb propane tank that was certified this year in January because it was 15 minutes till close and claimed it wasn't a legal certified tank saying any one can engrave it even tho Franger Gas Company, Inc Elkhart certified it. Not mentioning names for legal reasons but there team that handles takes are lazy.

Brian Bucklew: Contracted the delivery and installation of a dryer and pedistal to a third party. The third party delivered the wrong pedistal and didn't do the install. Lowes refused refund on the pedistal and install because I didn't drive back into town with the pedistal for 72 hours despite the fact that I had valled the same day to report the issue.

An employee here immediately asked if we needed help, then led us to the humidifiers instead of vaguely pointing us in the right direction. The employees at this Lowe's are always helpful, knowledgeable, and happy to help.

Once I check out I then asked for help to place them in my car and she pages someone. After 15 minutes I just decided to do it myself. There were employees all over the store and standing around. This wasn't a task I was incapable of doing but if a customer asks for assistance it should be done. In a timely manner considering the abundance of staff.
