Mr. M.: HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Parking lot & sidewalk entry way was full of trash, boxes, & pallets blocking the way in.Made you present & scan your ID before even buying anything, just to enter . The worst teenage staff who couldn’t of cared less. Was w/ my 8yr old son & were loudly cussing up a storm right in front of him. Heard that & walked right out. Had broken tiles & PUDDLES on the floor. Disgusting trashy place!! AVOID FOREVER!

We are a local family owned and operated firework store that was established in the local area in 1920 by my great-grandfather. My grandfather Joseph Perri continued in his father’s footsteps by creating his own set pieces that he used to shoot local and regional fireworks shows. A few of the local places he was known to shoot shows include Playland Park, Central Park, and Starlight Drive-in Theater. Known as Papa Joe from his restaurant days, or simply Joe by those who knew him, was instrumental in starting the retail sales of fireworks in our area when he started selling out of the back of his car. Many of the other area retail fireworks owners in the area got their start in the business by either working for Joe or by going to his business as a child.
Perri Fireworks has had a number of locations over the years, including locations in Mishawaka, South Bend, Elkhart, and Granger. Two of the more notable locations were the Cleveland Road location in South Bend and the Old US 20 location in Elkhart, formally considered Osceola.
The Cleveland Road location is where Joe created all of his masterpieces for the professional shows. His daughter Frances saw the time and effort that her dad would put into each and every piece he created with his bare hands and began helping him when she was a teenager. It is also where his brother Frank operated Princess Fireworks for several years. Eventually when Joe no longer performed the professional shows he kept fireworks alive at his retail location on Old US 20 for over 30 years.
One would expect that it would be a son that would follow in their fathers footsteps, but when Joe’s daughter Frances, and his granddaughter Steffanie moved back to the area after living in California for several years, they would help Joe at his retail store. They did that for a few years until both they and Joe decided together after the 1999 season that they should open their own retail store where it all started on Cleveland Road in South Bend. So in 2000 Perri Fireworks-Cleveland Road opened and became know by local customers as the little white barn due to the fact that the business was located inside of an old white barn. Frances and Steffanie continued operating at that location until they were forced to relocate to Granger.
Joe Continued to run the Old US 20 location until his death at the age of 92, just before he was due to open in April of 2010. Eventually Frances and Steffanie moved to the Old US 20 location for a number of years until they relocated to Edison Road in Mishawaka in order to get closer to their original location. Although no longer at the Edison Road location in Mishawaka, they recently relocated just down the road to their current location at 3601 Edison Road in South Bend in the plaza at the corner of Hickory Road and Edison Road and are looking forward to serving you every year from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Guy is willing to cut a deal and the woman running the cash register is a sweetie. She even gave me free sparklers.

Stone Gair: Best place to buy fireworks online there freight shipping cost is very reasonable compared to other places they also have a very large selection of fireworks. The only downside is they use YRC freight which can be a disaster most of the time they don't know where your packages is located and when you contact them they're damn near clueless absolutely one of the worst shipping companies of all time but just because I've had bad experience with YRC multiple times I will not let that take away stars from my review this company is 5 stars all day long if you have any problems it will most likely be YRC fault. Thanks again for the fireworks I've got noise makers to blast off for the rest of the year and next time I buy fireworks online again it will definitely be this place I am 100% satisfied and will return here again.
Chris V: This is my favorite place to buy fireworks online. I wish I had reason to be in that part of country to visit the store in person, but this review is from my online experiences.#1 Prices are reasonable and not "gimmicky". An item that's typically retail for $50 is about $50. A whole case might be around $175 reflecting a volume discount/buying the whole case instead of breaking it down. But what you don't see much of is the typical $50 item being priced at $100 then offered as buy one, get one. Or being marked up to $75, then "discounted" back down to $50. They do have a small assortment of BOGO items, but at least online those are in own section and they even call them out as slow movers.#2 Again on price, but the "free shipping $500". I compared a lot of places, some with "free shipping", others with freight calculated during checkout. With the types of items I bought, mix of individual retail items and wholesale case items, the way it worked out for me was an order between $500-$2000ish their prices + them covering freight shipping was least expensive option. Might be others selling same/similar for a couple $ less, but freight delivery to a residential address isn't cheap. I know I can't drive about an hour each way across state line, pay those shops retail prices, gas $, and sales tax and save money. I get a LOT more fireworks for my $ with OC fireworks.#3 Order fulfillment speed. I've made 4 orders so far online. Each was shipped within a couple business days and in my driveway in about a week. Can't beat that. Online order status and tracking were up to date. At least to my region they used R+L Carriers who are probably about the best out there for pesky LTL deliveries to residential#4 Order accuracy. Every order had a printed pick list with pen/pencil checkmarks. My orders were complete and exactly what I ordered. You could tell whoever picked/packed the orders was very careful. From the tiniest box of snaps to the largest case of mortars, every piece was checked off and exactly correct.#5 Packaging. Orders were boxed, palletized, and then wrapped with some pretty heavy duty stretch film. No shipping damage, no items falling off pallet. It was obvious that someone took a lot of care to package the order very well - not just throw it about. Add to that choosing a conscientious carrier like R+L, it's obvious they want the order to arrive in perfect condition.#6 Website. Worked great and live inventory seemed to work. If I tried to put one more of something in my cart, it wouldn't allow it if inventory out of stock. That made me nervous because it meant I just ordered the last X amount of that item they had in stock. So if their inventory was off, I was going to get shorted those items or have to wait for a back order. But what I found was if website said it was in stock, it was. Otherwise it wouldn't make it into my cart. The website is well organized and easy to find what you want, sort by name or price, find wholesale items, etc.#7 Video demonstrations. I liked that just about anything bigger than a sparkler has a video of that item. Makes choosing so much easier. Also was really helpful timing my items to make my show run smoothly having accurate times for each item.I don't really have any negatives. I wish they stocked a few more brands, but I realize there is no way to carry EVERYTHING and each brand has a lot of overlap. Also in 2022 with shipping from China being what it is, selection can't be a gripe because I'm sure everyone is stocking whatever they can get their hands on right now. Overall extremely happy with "bang for the buck" and overall service from OC Fireworks & am now looking forward to building next year's show!
Breanna Laughman: I was so excited to pick up our fireworks after reading the great review. I was so disappointed after getting them. We didn't buy a whole lot, just enough to make my 8 year old happy. More than half of the fireworks didn't go off. It actually seemed like they may have been wet at some time? The packaging seemed to indicate that. We started lighting them off, two of the bigger ones the casing actually shot up in the air and then it tipped over and went sideways shooting at a house across the street. We didn't do anymore after that. We just do a small show every year, but I don't think we will be getting them here ever again. Just a waste of money.
