Kelly Waite: Fairly decent place to workout. Most of the equipment is older but still serviceable. Cardio machines are slightly more modern than the weight equipment and machines. They are missing a few key pieces of equipment that would take it up a notch (i.e. hop extension machine). One of the only places with a dry heat sauna and they've just remodeled including putting a new sauna in. One of my biggest complaints is that the showers get lukewarm at best despite management being told by me and others.

Patrick Cottrell: O'Brien Center is a really good basic gym. They have all the cardio equipment and free weights / machines needed to stay in great shape physically. The staff is friendly and do a good job keeping things clean. The prices are reasonable as well.

Paul McKillip: I used to love this place, especially the fact that I didn't have reoccurring charges and could pay when I could or had to but now, since the ymca unfortunately came into play, that changed. Now the prices are higher and they HAVE to have you on reoccurring payments which I called to try to talk to someone about, got told I would be given a call and haven't heard from them since This place used to be great but now I will no longer return and don't wish to go to any ymca affiliated establishment.

Sheryl Gumz: Its a really nice gym, there doing a lot of remodeling to expanded the facilities they offer all sorts of different classes, even if its raining come on in and walk a few laps just to unwind and clear your head. Check them out everyone is friendly.

Amy FREESE: We went to go to the pool. Some of the staff were great. Other staff were rude and not helpful at all. First time there. Not sure we will go back.

Mari Roomer: This is a decent place to work out swim. staff is awesome . Only issue is weight room floor hasn’t been swept or mopped in a month! Very nasty! I’ve told several workers about it. They f do not seem to care. Not sanitzed very good at all. The bald guy sits all day and does nothing. Who’s the manager of the fitness area? He or she doesn’t do anything to help sanitize and keep this area safe from illness

Kortney M: I have had a membership at the Kroc since they first built the building. I never once regretted it. It's a part of the family routine as well as my own personal routine. There's a water park area, a climbing wall, arts programs, music programs, theater, after school and homeschool programs. It's truly a community center which is exactly what South Bend needed. They offer scholarships for families who qualify. They also offer free daycare with your membership while you're at the Kroc. If you are not a member you can buy a pass for $15 to try it out.
paulin hakizimana: Only Facts (for the price you pay):Cons:1. Limited hours. (Especially weekends, and winter hours)2. Limited Availability of the Gymnasium. (in wintertime, the basketball courts are fully booked for activities. When you ask, they tell you, they are a "community" center...therefore... (in my words) paying members don't mean jack when someone comes and pay a premium buck to reserve the court all day.3. their child-care (kids' zone has its issues)Pros:workout machines are plenty and in a good shape, pool is clean, and their locker room have been fixed.

Alison Mynsberge: They no longer provide towels. They have very limited hours. Attendance seems to be way down and day passes are very expensive. The locker room situation isn’t family-friendly or accommodating for both members and camp participants simultaneously. But having returned after COVID, I was finally able to get a treadmill, and after asking they finally turned the slide on hours after it was supposed to be, which meant my son & nephew had an hour of pure joy as they went up those stairs over and over again as the pool was empty of any other slide users (while I drove home to get towels).
Marc Johnson: Excellent place for recreation, health and fitness, and spiritual worship of God. I highly recommend going there... you won't be disappointed!

After being indicated as a major capital need during the 2014 Parks Master Plan process, a new roof and boiler was installed at Pinhook Pavilion in Fall 2016.
Pinhook Park will remain a relatively natural space for residents to engage with the lagoon and surrounding nature. Improvements to the existing pavilion and playground as well as introducing more connectivity to the neighborhoods are part of the design concepts for Pinhook. When upgrading this park, the City will also work on improving the lagoon water quality and promoting water recreation.
Restrooms will be upgraded in quality and will become universally accessible.
