Scott Wendland: We had Asscher Roofing quote out and then complete a commercial roof repair. They not only did an excellent job, they went beyond and above. The entire process was EXCLLENT. The explanation of the type of roof, what caused the failure, the repairs that were made, the photos of before and after in the report along with the invoicing process. They also explained what we can do to eliminate and avoid roof repairs/expenses for the future. We are looking to have another commercial building roof completely replaced in the upcoming year and are committed to have Asscher do this job.

We called Asscher as a backup when the first company we had look at our project which resulted from serious storm damage failed to deliver an estimate on time and became spotty in communication. From the moment Richi arrived we knew Asscher was different. I along with a friend observed about a year later that the roof did not seem to be done right and there were some other issues that needed attention. I contacted Denny Shay who came out and agreed that the roof was not done properly by the last crew and he would look into it. Admitting the job was not done properly, Home Works hired a better crew who replaced my whole roof at no other cost to me. The crew was out there non-stop from 8:30 am untill 6:00pm and did a fantastic job! This company 100 % stands by its warranty!

Kate Alber: We contracted with HomeWork to remodel the outside of out home. Their project management has been nothing short of subpar. They forgot to tell the painter we wanted the soffits painted, so now it has to be done after the siding which is going to cost thousands in prep work. They also miscounted the number of shutters needing to be stained. They scheduled the shutters to be installed before they were even stained. We were told they could do metal railing to enclose the basement egress but have now been told that was never part of the contracted price. I haven't seen the project manager since before the remodel began, despite her saying she'd be here weekly to monitor progress. There hasn't been a worker at my home in 2 weeks, and I have 50 shutters just sitting in my garage waiting for install.The ONLY redeeming fact is that their contracted companies for siding, gutters and painting are wonderful. Save yourself the headache and save money by contacting the individual contractors yourself!

Nancy Pittman: I talked to several companies prior to hiring HomeWorks out of South Bend/Mishawaka.I had an apt with their sales person who was very prepared for our meeting. He had already done an aerial review of my roof so he knew how to appropriately quote prior to our meeting.He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions.I ended up going with HomeWorks per their certified methods of install that would allow for craftsmanship and materials warranty. If I move, new owners can get the warranty. I also liked the sales rep a lot and the price was good!Crew was very hard working and got the job done in a day. They worked many hours that day. E R: UPDATE 2022: My home looks fantastic, and I have people stopping to say how much they love the improvement. Thanks to HomeWorks for helping my home's curb appeal.It was well worth the wait to have siding, exterior painting, and some masonry done, and I am beyond happy with the results! This was likely a once-in-a-lifetime project for me that I saved up for over a few years. I had a lot of hopes riding on it, and they met every expectation, were honest, skillful and prompt. My home was covered with cedar shingles which needed to be removed, then siding installed trim painted, and natural stone details articulated with the siding. The worksite is challenging with narrow and very high access to some points (1920's era home with "character").They replaced most rotting wood they found for free. I experienced FANTASTIC communication with the administrative assistant/project coordinator (Savanah) who was nothing but polite and responsive throughout the entire process. When I needed clarification about any details, Savanah and Jeremy (who sold the job without pressuring me) were patient and EXTREMELY good at clarifying due to being articulate and intelligent. I was anxious to have the work done, naturally, and unlike some companies, every member of the Homeworks crew (painters, guys who worked on the stones, demolition crew, project supervisor Tony, the carpenter who replaced the wood, and administration/supervisors Jeremy and Nathan) were thoughtful and kind to me. These are crazy times and life is stressful enough, so many, many thanks to Homeworks for making my project a satisfying one. I would confidently recommend them to anyone.Service:Exterior painting
Shawn Nickholds: Unfortunately I have had two vastly different experiences with HomeWorks. I used them in 2020 to finish my basement, and was very happy with the experience. They were very responsive throughout the process, worked with me to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted, and I was happy with the final product. Because of that experience I went back to them when I needed to do some repair work due to some water damage. Unfortunately this second experience was completely different. (I believe this is a separate department within HomeWorks for what that is worth). After initially reaching out I was contacted to get some basic info and was told someone would follow up with me to set up a walkthrough and estimate. That never happened. After not hearing back I reached out again and was told they were busy but that I would get a call back. Again that call back never happened. In the end, as much as I wanted to go with HomeWorks for that job I had to go with someone else who would actually respond. So, while I would recommend them for larger remodeling jobs, I would definitely not recommend them for smaller home maintenance/repair jobs.

The project was complicated and involved adding new plumbing and sewer connections, new wiring, new walls - the works! HomeWorks did high quality work at a relatively quick pace, coming up with solutions to inevitable difficulties and keeping us well-informed on the progress. Thanks!

My husband and I moved into our house a year ago and we noticed that one of the previous owners had cut into the siding outlining our back door when they were installing the frame so there was a noticeable gap- the siding wasn’t meeting up with the door frame. There was also an open area on the corner of our house that looked like an eye sore. Today everything was fixed and it looks amazing! I wish I had taken before pictures. Barry is very easy to talk to, pleasant and is very responsive. The guy who came out to fix everything is also the same way. I also feel like the estimate for the work is fair. I will definitely be using this company in the future! If I could give more than 5 stars on this review I would!

He returned my calls, came out quick and understood our need and our budget constraints. The crew did an excellent job at getting the job done without disturbing us and at cleaning up after themselves. We especially appreciated the great effort at insulating the windows thoroughly. We live on a busy street and the noise level has gone way down.And finally: the manager was very honest with the billing. The second payment was less than originally budgeted by more than $1k. Amanda Gamso: Job well done! The estimate was the best one I had received. Gutters look good and there is no trash or mess left behind. There just wasn't any communication Rooftechs end. Luckily I was able to talk to the company Rooftech hired for the job through my ring doorbell. If they wouldn't have rang the bell I wouldn't have even known I was getting gutters installed that day. Mary Postelli: Champion windows is a terrible company period. They are very attentive until the contract is signed, then they disappear.We signed with them last August and an installer came in Oct. He was very good, but did not have the color for the trim we had agreed on so I paid half the amount So I was told that day, don't contract us we will contact you, due to supply issues. Early January I received a lien on my home for the remaining amount, not one call or bill was ever sent. It was then I had to contact them & was told we don't have that color anymore. They found 1 roll of it Florida I was told. They came and finally finished the job. I paid the total amount and wanted the lien removed from my home. I called every day for 2 weeks to finally receive it in the mail. I do not recommend this company as they are a "don't call us well will call you" mentality".

Kayla Keen: We contracted Champion Window of South Bend to do the siding on our house and front of our garage. Note that no matter what your salesman tells you... their siding work IS subcontracted out. Expect to come across many obstacles during your project, including little to no communication from Champion, extremely delayed project times (we waited around 9 months), lackluster installation, creaked and broken siding, and Champion not doing much of anything to resolve issues in a timely fashion. After several issues with the original crew at our house, we requested a new crew and stated we were okay with waiting if needed. The other crew was 100% better than the first crew. You could tell they put pride in their work and wanted to make sure everything was done properly and to our satisfaction. Once the job was complete, Champion reached out to us the same day at 8pm for final payment and never once sent a Champion employee back out to review the final work. Overpriced and too much of a hassle for me to want to do business with them ever again. Just beware of what you're getting yourself into.
