Disillusioned with the quality other jewelers sold, she felt there had to be a better way to offer quality jewelry at affordable prices. Ed Vanata joined the team as buyer, bringing with him 20 years of experience. His unique eye for design and in spotting up-and-coming trends keeps the merchandise fresh and exciting.

Timothy: I gave him a small 14 karat necklace and paid $350.00 for a 10 karat gold chain that fit better. Took it to pawn shop. Wasn't real stuck to magnet. Don't do business with them should of just went to kay's in the mall. Than getting take advantage of from these scammer's..

We unfortunately had my wife’s repaired at another jeweler first. The repair did not last, so we tried Diamond Jim’s on the recommendation of a family member.

Two previous shops we’re sketchy only offing 700 less calling our gold coins scrap price only is what they will offer.Well at Chirstos all our questions were satisfied were had fair numbers that he was willing to move up on a little. We had been set back by Covid hitting and just need to get fair a market price we could. We were happy with the deal we made. Would recommend highly to just start here. Thank you

I had called ahead so Basil was expecting me, but I'm not sure he expected so much to look at. He was very friendly and was not at all shocked at how much I had brought. I was there about three hours, but it did not seem like three hours. He, his wife, his friend Nappy and I visited and shared stories. It was not like a business transaction. It was more like meeting friends. I knew nothing about the coins I had and Basil took the time to explain a lot to me about what to keep, what to auction, etc. I thought he was very fair on prices. In fact, I plan to take some more of my own items up there to see what he might be interested in as I downsize more of my possessions. Thanks Basil and crew for a fun morning

james cook: I'm the owner of gold and diamonds we havnt sold g shocks since 2010 and the ones we did sell were 100% real diamonds if you bought it here and you were told the diamonds were not real , why wouldn't you return it . Your still more than welcome to bring it back , but I know for a fact if it came from here the diamonds are real . Bring it in . I will personally guarantee if it's from here there real. Sounds like you had ammituers look at it. I think rival shop asked you to leave a fake review.

My fiancé and I just stopped in as we were walking by to get my ring cleaned and look at wedding bands. Amber helped us and was very kind and helpful. Not pushy in any way which was awesome and was not at all bothered by the fact that we weren’t going to be purchasing anything today. Just wanted to help us! If you go here, we recommend asking for Amber.

Erin Corey: Horrible i’ve tried getting my ring resize three times, they will sell you a ring but won‘t help you after with the warranty you purchased with the jewelry. They are more concerned about commission than helping with any repairs, resizing or your cleanings. If they arent making their pennies off you they will straght up just ignore you.
Jennifer Reinoehl: DO NOT GET YOUR JEWELRY REPAIRED HERE!!!! My husband and I have been married over 20 years and his ring has been through multiple resizing at other jewelers. Unfortunately, I could not remember where I had gotten previous work done and walked into this store thinking all jewelry stores would provide the same quality work. Wrong. First, they charged exorbitant rates--which would be okay if they didn't ruin your jewelry. My husband had a crack in his band at the back nearest his palm. The front of the ring has a diamond inset and had decorative markings that match my band. I told them specifically to be careful of the markings. There should not have been any reason for them work near them, but the lady I gave the ring to (I believe the manager) acted worried when I pointed the detail out. Yes, that should have set off warnings, but I am dumb and did not realize Kays in general has mostly one- and two- star reviews across other rating sites.Sure enough, when I went to pick up my husband's ring today all the decorative marks had been BUFFED OUT. Again, the repair was on the opposite side of the ring--there was no reason for this. If they did it, they should have fixed it--especially since it supposedly has a workmanship warranty, but they gave it back and basically said tough luck.

Tyler Troyer: Worst customer service ever. Dropped off a ring for resize on Oct 19th they told me about 2 weeks. Waited 3 weeks and no one contacted me so I called and they said it would be done by the 18th. Another 2 weeks. Finally got a call it was ready for pickup. Went to get it & paid the service fee. Brought it home just to find out they didn’t resize it at all. Called the store and they “forgot” to tell me 5 weeks prior that they couldn’t work on it. Only to proceed “working” on it & tell me it’s ready for pickup 1 month later. And they charged me for work they never performed. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

They had me waiting over 45 mins to get a return on an item bought online. Had both receipts (paper and electronic), got help from 4 different employees, all to be told that they couldnt find the transaction. That we had to go to the store we picked the item up from (Elkhart location); which we did, and was out of that store within 5 mins after them accepting the return with no issue. Crazy how you have no problem taking my money, but have an issue giving it back on faulty product. Avoid Kay's at the mall and just go to the one in Elkhart or Goshen.

So I got in line no other customers in line causcian women shut cage/door in my face and said come back in an hour. At least three others workers behind the counter someone could have waited on me. This discriminating service is still taking place in 2021. I did file a complaint with customer service nothing yet. I take it that Zales/Kay’s have enough money to turn away hard working citizens of color. With all that is going on in this world I would think people would be polite if nothing else. No other store in the Mall was closed. I purchased my husband gift from your competitor TAJ Jewelers. Customer Service Does Matter! And so does fair treatment for all.Mrs C Williams

This guy took the watch inside the shop and made me wait over 20 minutes and then came back and told me “your watch is not working, Needs a new battery, and it’ll be $40 to do do it”!! I questioned him that this is a brand new watch. It was working when I bought it, the guy kept on insisting no the technician said “the watch is not working, needs a battery”. Scammers. I will never ever visit visit this store again.

I walked into Van Horn just to have the appraisal done but after seeing first that they do all the work in house behind a huge glass window and then meeting Katie who's customer service was superb, I decided to have them give me a quote on price. They not only beat the price, but the work was done in less than half the time! I saved a few thousand dollars and I absolutely love the finished product. Katie was not your average sales person, she went above and beyond to help me come up with the perfect plan at the right price and even texted me to keep me in the loop. I live over an hour away but will continue to make the trip to buy all my jewelry from them in the future!
