Markus McKinney: Down sized tremendously,, and whomever the lady at the front desk she's rude and in a hurry and after she signed me through i was in back doing my thing and could hear her bad mouthing me over a misunderstanding which happened to be on her part cause she was too high strung or"high" to let me even finish my point of the conversation. Too much coffee or something.. everyone else was polite and helpful besides that... the new work one since 2020 is waaaaay diffr for sure..
Holley A: So masks are still required here for everyone except for the grumpy men at the front. They got pretty aggressive with people coming in but evidently they are exempt. Rude

Stacie Jensen: Going through a hard time right now because my husband and I were laid off and I am 28 weeks pregnant and have been in the hospital due to preeclampsia. I've never been on assistance before and don't really know what I am doing, and a lady at the Mishawaka office was so rude to me she made me cry. After hearing nothing for 2 weeks I worried I made a mistake so I drove to the South Bend office and Paula called my number. She listened to my whole situation, looked into my case and got everything solved with a caseworker. She was so kind and understanding and a huge help!
Delta Olson: Absolutely deserves 0 stars. I've been fighting with this place for months to get assistance. I was recently denied yet again for "failing to provide necessary documents" on time. Which is 100% a lie, because I uploaded the documents immediately to the fssa website with time to spare. So as a precaution I faxed the documents as well. I'll be calling them bright and early Monday morning

Jennifer Adams: I walked in after lunch thinking I would definitely have to wait a bit. Expecting little help after seeing the reviews, but I was greeted pleasantly by a woman at the desk who gave me a number that was called before my four year old even had a chance to get antsy, ten minutes tops. A gentleman by the name of Clarence called my number and could not have been more friendly or helpful. Just a genuinely kind person and I’m so grateful, thank you!
Stacy Gonzales: I turned in information on June 14 of 2022 because Cuz I started a new job so had to get all the information they need it and I quit one of my old jobs got information for that that they need it I faxed it over put my case number on all paper so nothing got lost 9 July came around still no snap benefits I’ve been calling every day to see if they’ve been working on my case and still nothing I would not turn in my paperwork to this place anymore I’m going on Lincoln Way
Tyeisha R. Sullivan: I had a redetermination for my food stamps. I turned everything in on time, even came back the same day to sign and date the paper they needed me to do. Just to get a letter in the mail telling me that I failed to turn in the signed document and that they denied me. When I call they told me someone had processed my information in the wrong account. Now me and my kids are starving because the people who work there couldn't do their job right. There is no win-win.. if you're in the wrong or if they are you will still get penalized for it. I don't know if there is a number to report them, but I will be researching. Is not like I reapplied again it was just a redetermination of my stamps. I wish I can give them zero Stars
Todd&Jennie Bourne: Very hard to work with. I went with all paperwork needed and asked for since I live over an hour away. They claimed I was missing one form and denied me since I couldn't bring it in within 15 minutes. Notes mailed to me said I was " very hard to work with and rude" well if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black.

Dorothy Scott: They don't even give you enought time to get all the documentations together to send to them. Fir example. The date today is Oct.8 and you have to have them sent to FSSA by Ict. 17. It takes 19 business days to get the documentations from the insurance company to have time to send them to FSSA
chelina Jimenez: If i can can give this place a zero i would. I moved from chicago to south bend indiana last year with my 2 babies and i applied and no answer on why im not approved. Till this day i still keep on applying and no one will help me. But yet they are helping those people who lie who dont need the help as much as other people like me need it. And im so sick and tired of this. I have not been somewhere that they are not willing to help out the people that need help.

Autumn Neil: If 0 stars was an option, that's what FSSA would be receiving at this time. If you're going to require people to use a 30 year old service (fax), you should probably have it functioning properly so documents can be submitted on time, so those of us with benefits who work during your short and limited office hours with no localized office numbers do not risk losing benefits.
John Graham: The staff were extremely rude to me for no reason. I had a job I was trying to do, and the lady I spoke with used a harsh and abrasive tone to address my questions. Do NOT consult this office for your insurance needs unless you absolutely need to.

Rowan Hornbeck: Didn’t have to wait long at all, whole process was smooth and easy. Nancy was super nice and helpful, never thought going to the BMV would be fun but she made the whole process great with such friendly conversation. Everyone seemed very upbeat and provided great customer service.

Nicholas Lowe: Like and BMV location in the state, the place can certainly be busy. But I've never waiting more than 30 minutes, even on one of those days when all the seats are taken. The manager has come out to help speed things along when the wait line grows. I just haven't had a very good experience with friendliness from the staff. I know they have a government job and people are largely demanding and can be aggressive but I always try to be as cordial as possible and smile and it's not always returned. But, they are efficient. So, if you're looking to get in and get out, this is a good place to go.
