Jeffrey: Last weekend I reserved a tb 250-2 Takeuchi excavator from United Rentals on Mayflower Rd South Bend, IN. When I called initially and spoke with Kurt they did not have one at their location but Kurt located one and got it brought up to the South Bend location for my rental for the weekend.From the start Kurt was professional and efficient. He was knowledgeable about the excavator and made the rental as smooth as could be. During the course of the rental I had a question about the excavator and ended up talking to Evan who was also professional and efficient. Upon getting the final bill there was an error on the bill which Evan quickly identified and fixed without any of the defensive responses that I would have gotten from Michiana Rentals in Niles MI. who I have used extensively in the past. Key word PAST. After dealing with Kurt and Evan United Rentals now has my business. Great job guys keep up the good work, you are in a different league from the "competition" in the area. I have already told several of my friends about this rental and they will also be using United instead of Michiana Rentals.
Jon: My wife and I had a wonderful experience renting a dump trailer from these guys. The trailer required a heavy duty truck to haul it, so we rented an F-350. When we arrived at United, it turned out that our rental truck had an unusual receiver, and they didn't have any hitches that would fit it. The guy working the counter was apologetic and was going to refund our money. At that point, the manager came out of his office and went out to look at the receiver. He came back in and said "just let him use one of our trucks." They charged us nothing to use the truck. Needless to say, the truck and trailer came back with some beer and donuts. They saved our tails, as we had already rented and paid for a Bobcat to move the dirt. I highly recommend these guys.
Ehron Nygard: I had a good experience with Andrew, Operations Manager, who took full responsibility for a call-back that was missed by a subordinate. Very humble and customer service oriented. The voice of the customer ranks high here.They are mostly price competitive and offer discounts to customers on account which brings the price to be commensurate with other local pricing on the few pieces of equipment where the price is a little higher than others locally and they have a policy of replacing most of their equipment every two years, so you are not likely to experience problems. Many of the other tool rental companies buy older equipment from them; they maintain a “cream of the crop fleet” of tools and equipment.They require a credit card up front for non-account clients but do not require a credit card in advance for account clients.Great recognition of voice of the customer. Great product. A+

Katie Deisler: I chose Burns Rentals as my rental provider for table runners, China, and candles at therecommendation of my venue. They appeared to have a great selection of inventory. Burns fell short inalmost every way. I’ve detailed their mistakes in chronological order below for reference. Note: I workedas both a wedding planner and the manager of a rental company for several years prior to gettingmarried. No rental company I’ve ever worked with had this many issues and missed this many basics incommunicating with clients.1. Our initial quote said items would be delivered on Friday before and picked up the Monday afterthe wedding. When calling to make my deposit, I verbally told the associate that I only had thevenue booked on Saturday and that delivery/pickup times would have to be confirmed withJennifer (venue owner). The associate who took my payment verbally confirmed this wouldhappen. It didn’t.2. I got a voicemail on Thursday before the wedding that rental items would be delivered first thingFriday morning. I called the office immediately upon receipt and left a voicemail saying deliverycould not be Friday. I also followed up via email with Lauren (my rental coordinator) and got noresponse.3. Additionally on Thursday, I got a note that our sheer table runners were not going to beavailable (they were sub-rented from another company) in time for our wedding. Thereplacements they sent were a different color and texture (these were refunded, though).4. The rental items showed up at the venue Friday morning despite my communication that thiscouldn’t happen. Instead of coming back on Saturday, the drivers made my groomsmen andcoordinator take personal cars to our AirBnb to unload items themselves. Our family and bridalparty had to personally transport rental items back to the venue on Saturday.5. The delivery drivers confirmed verbally that they would pick up rental items on Saturday nightfollowing the wedding. Both my coordinator and officiant heard this statement being made.6. At the end of the wedding- my coordinator called Lauren asking why the rentals weren’t beingpicked up. Lauren informed us it would have been an additional $600 charge to pick up theitems on a Saturday, even though the drivers had already confirmed it.7. My family had to move rental items back to our Airbnb (including waking up guests who hadalready left the party and calling them to come back with additional vehicles).8. In total, my family moved rental items 4 times personally.9. I only received a 5% discount and half the delivery fee as compensation for this. This totaled arefund of $220 on a $3600 contract. This is hardly enough to compensate my family for thetime, labor and emotional energy spent on moving the rental items.10. I went back and forth with Lauren and was refused to talk to the business owners (even at mymultiple request).A rental company’s basic job is to confirm delivery time with the venue coordinator/contact. I had mywedding coordinator’s name and phone number on our contract, and they never used it. They neverresponded to my voicemail or written request on Thursday to prevent the Friday delivery. The deliverydrivers lied to my coordination team about Saturday pickup. Confirming delivery details the week of theevent (if not before) are the absolute basics of owning a rental company. I was told verbally uponmaking my deposit that the company would call Jennifer to arrange a drop-off time. I believed thiswould happen and didn’t worry about it until I was aware it was going wrong. This company had workedat my venue before, and I believed they would fulfill their end of the bargain and follow up on what theytold me.
Jones Painting: Our company has used Burns rental equipment for over 10 years. Staff has great knowledge of their equipment and if there ever was an issue with equipment they’ve always made it right. Highly recommend.

Andrew Young: My girlfriend parents rented a skid steer from burns rental. On the way back their trailer blew a tire I called and they told me it was my problem to fix it. I called a tow company to fix since there was NO SPARE TIRE FOR THE TRAILER. The tow truck driver told me the trailer was unsafe and should not be on the road and was not equipt to pull a skid steer of that size. I should have known this when the guy hooking the trailer said the connector was "run over" so the lights wouldnt work but in the companys eyes it was still road safe. Now I'm out money for the rental plus money to fix the tire. Needless to say go to another company to rent your equipment, they are terrible.
Carl Fuller: I've been using these guys for the past 12 years they always help me in every way to make sure my jobs get done. I wouldn't use nobody else! Clean equipment & when I ever had a problem with a tool or anything there always very fast to help and fix the problem!

Lori Herbers: Was in town helping my son and fiancé with wedding plans. Found Burns online, but was hesitant because of the negative reviews! Called anyway because of their vast assortment they offer and knew we needed everything from soup to nuts for the venue. Had a very productive conversation with Lauren that ended with us visiting the business and ultimately hiring her as the event coordinator! She was very detailed oriented as we went through everything that would be needed without any pressure. Gave as much time as we needed and so much to pick from! Just remember, when you see a negative review that there are always 2 sides to a story! I’m so glad I called!You should run not walk to Burns Rent-Alls
Rebecca Holloway: Just talked to Brian and even though they are closed he offered to help me get a generator for my senior parents as they have been without power for 24 hrs. and I live in the Indianapolis area and could not help. He was so responsive to my FB message asking for help. So glad to know there are local companies willing to go the extra mile for those in need. It sucks being so far away from loved ones in need but comforting to know folks like Brian are there to look out for people in the community when it counts.
Stephanie Rosales: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!Went in to rent some cloth napkins for my wedding. I needed about 300 so I placed an order for 310 to be on the safe side. The sales person told me we had to order them ASAP since my wedding was so close. So without looking around at different vendors, I ordered the napkins.The Thursday before my wedding on Saturday, we go to pick them up and after a while of waiting a girl finally comes up to us and says “I am sorry, I’m not sure what happened but we did not put in your order so I have zero napkins in the color that you want.” Clearly I’m visibly upset and she says “I can check to see what other colors I have available in that quantity that you need.” So I ended up having to change the color of the napkins. Finally I tell her I’ll go with a gold color napkin and she says “okay we have that color in the quantity that you need in hand, I’ll go grab those.” She hands me a bag and off I go.Then Friday comes around (our wedding was in Goshen) and we are setting up the tables at the venue and we realize we are short on napkins. I call Burns immediately and explain that they gave me less napkins and not the 310 I had paid for. Then she says “yeah well we only gave you 165 napkins because we refunded the rest of your money.” At this point I am livid because who wants to deal with stupid stuff like that the day before your wedding! I explain to her that I didn’t ask for my money back because I still needed 310 napkins regardless of whether they had ordered the right color for me or not. She is very apologetic and says they do have the rest of the napkins on hand and someone can deliver them to me. So that was a plus.Sunday I go and check my bank app and see that they had charged me again for the napkins!! (I’ve seen that several other reviews have mentioned that Burns makes unauthorized charges on their accounts and that’s exactly what happened to me too! So beware!) On Monday when I went in to return the napkins I explained this to a lady that works there and without checking anything on her computer she says “yeah but we have you your money back on half the napkins initially.” I try to explain to her that the full amount was charged the first time and there is no refund and there is now an additional charge. finally she looks at her computer and goes “oh I’m very sorry about that, the wear house guy posted it as a credit and he should not have done that. I’m not sure why that happened but we will get that refunded to you.” She did not take any responsibility for what had happened and seemed to push it off on other people and their mess ups.Overall, I had a terrible experience with burns rental and I would not recommend it to anyone much less a bride because brides do not need this type of careless, unprofessional experience days before their wedding. I will add that Burns called me and seemed very embarrassed/ apologetic about their unprofessionalism and they said they are going to give me a $100 credit on my account for when I rent with them the next time for my troubles with this rental. But honestly, I don’t ever want to rent anything from them again so the credit is no help.
Tim Loftus: Nice people but rented a drain cleaner for my main line that was supposed to be 100ft which would of been perfect for what I needed. But whoever used it before me got it tangled or kinked somehow at about 50ft so that's all I could use which got some but not all of what was clogging my drain. So after spending 100 here I had to call a plumber to bring over the exact same equipment (working of course) and had it cleared within 10 minutes but for $350 because it was a Saturday. Showed him a picture of the one I rented from here and he said it should of never been rented out. He told me they most likely had to be aware that this one wasnt going to work right and they didnt give me enough bits to even get the job done if it had been. It was just a major hassle that could of been avoided if they'd of checked the equipment when people return it so the next people arent trying to repair your things in the short window they have to use them. Maybe it was an honest mistake and maybe not but I wouldn't be willing to risk more of my money at this place to find out.

Abby D: Normally don’t write these but this lady has been harassing me for the past two weeks now and today she (Hannah I believe is her name) decided to take a payment out of my account without my consent.We had Rented for our wedding. Flowers were beautiful. But event specialist failed to mention anything about a damage waiver form. Didn’t find out till about 16 days after our wedding when we were randomly sent a statement With a total amount due. Didn’t understand it so I asked what it was. A few days after get a voicemail saying it’s almost been a month since the wedding we need you to pay this. When they had only just told me about this amount due not even a week. Meanwhile I was thinking I had 30 days to pay it(NOPE). On top of our event specialist missing an important part (we asked for plates in our meeting and didn’t realize we didn’t have any plates till the event at dinner) .
Zachary Graham: Machine had some issues, was treated like I was going to break it before picking it up. Was treated like I broken when I reported the problem with. The sales pitch was ‘we are more expensive because we know what we are worth.’ I’m telling you they aren’t worth the price. I am going elsewhere for my next rental.

Their guys are very nice, professional, knowledgable, and helpful. Their prices are very fair and totally competitive with other rental places, for what I would consider to be far superior equipment. I've rented from the other rental places before, but in the future I'm sticking with MacAllister Rentals, my experience has been fantastic and their equipment is awesome.

Finally got my money back after days of fighting for it. Basically tried to steal from me. DONT USE MACALLISTER RENTAL THEY'RE THE BIGGEST SCAM AND UNORGANIZED RENTAL PLACE IN THE AREA!!
