You’ll wake up as soon as you open the door and smell the coffee. Your day is sure to be off to a great start, especially with hot fresh beignets or a breakfast po’ boy sandwich to go with your favorite java. Sip gorgeous lattes and cappuccinos, from locally roasted organic fair-trade beans, made by baristas who know the subtleties of coffee drinks and can tell you the stories behind the French chicory that goes into every pot of our Café Noir drip.

We take our cue from the Big Easy with a laid-back and casual vibe, but we take our food seriously. Creative and deliciously eclectic choices fill our menu and are sure to please all ages and tastes. From soups and sandwiches to party-in-your-mouth Cajun dishes or mac and cheese options, you’ll find vegetarian, gluten-free, and kid-friendly foods as well as dishes for meat-eaters. Breakfast is served all day and beignets are always hot and freshly made in-house. All meals can be complimented with draft craft beer, specialty cocktail, wine, spirited coffee, signature Hurricane or Big Easy Bloody Mary.

The Chicory Café has been part of the local community since 2005 bringing Cajun flavor to Michiana. In 2019 we added our Mishawaka location at 114 W. First Street. One New Orleans heartbeat, two cafes.

The South Bend location is in the heart of Downtown, conveniently located near Century Center, hotels, and the Gridiron and not far from the Riverlights. Our home base for supporting the community and participating in local events. We keep things fresh all week long with food and drink specials, live music, karaoke, and entertainment, club meetings and more. The place for coffee, cocktails, muffulettas, gelato, and the best beignets outside NOLA with an attitude that is always laid-back and welcoming.

Our new Mishawaka location boasts a huge outdoor seating area, just steps away from the scenic St. Joseph River with its new parks and connecting walkways. A place to sit, relax, and enjoy great flavorful food the whole family will love—po’boys, jambalaya, sandwiches, riffs on mac & cheese, even gelato!
