On the day of the Celebration of Life Service across the street at Old North UMC, the rest of the staff was so caring and helpful. They made sure the things we wanted taken to the church got there and back to the funeral home for us to pick up after our dinner. Holly Wiebke: When I went to Alexander North with my friend a few weeks ago to make her final arrangements, she was assured her casket would not be open for even family viewing. She had been adamant that NO ONE would see her in her casket. While sitting in the family kitchen area a few weeks later, at her funeral, someone from Alexander came in and asked her niece if she wanted to see her aunt before they closed the casket. Not being family, I didn't feel it was my place to intervene (wish I had!), even though the niece knew her aunt's wishes. Who at Alexander dropped the ball on this one?
