Todd H: A monopoly of ghouls.This company has been abusing the poor and middle class of this community with the blessing of our wonderful elected officials for many years.Now they are trying to get yet another rate increase approved. Maybe they can use that extra money to buy more local advertising, letting us know how wonderful they are while enjoying literally zero competition."Free market capitalism" lol.My last bill for my three bedroom house in the heart of the West side of Evansville was $605, which is more than my mortgage.For comparison, my winter bills in the same house when Vectren ran this place were less than $200 a month. I thought Vectren was bad, but I would take them back in a heartbeat.I suppose the only option now is to explore moving to a different state that doesn't allow power companies to break the backs of its citizens.
Nick: We lose our power once a month for 7-8 hours at a time for the last 3 months **** this place.
Jacob Loftus: Possibly the worst customer service of any utility provider that I've dealt with. Online portal never works, the pay by phone never works, and when you speak to a live party they cannot help you. Would give zero stars if it was an option.
Bob Ethridge: The power bill in Phoenix, AZ isn't as expensive as it is in Evansville, IN. This company is price gouging and the people who were just voted in better step up and do something about this!
Karan Wilson: I have been waiting 15 hours after 2 phone calls for someone to come look at a downed line that crosses my yard and two of my neighbors. They have warned me that it could be dangerous but haven’t bothered to come take care of it. One star is too good for this company
Joe Evrard: Their webpage triple charged me, stealing $900 from my account. When I called, they said a check would be sent within a few days. Two weeks later, no check. Call again, they tell me "Oh the company won't tell us when a check is going out."Absolute trash fire of a utility.
Dustin Latham: Amazing how my bill goes from $100 a month up to $300 a month and the people on the phone blame it on an ac unit and out of date furnace I magically don’t have hooked up to the house at all. Then today of 7/27/2022 they decide “hey..let’s replace a pole behind his house and not tell him about it” no warning, no tag saying hey at this time expect no power. NOTHING! Literally just cut the power to my house for an hour, a warning would have been nice to unplug my fishtank that RUNS ON ELECTRICITY SO IT WOULDNT FRY OUT THE FILTER! But centerjoke energy doesn’t care about anyone in Evansville so it doesn’t matter anyways
Brandon Slisher: I live in a small 2 bedroom house. We set our air on 74 and open windows at night when we can. We don’t overuse our hot water either. Somehow this company thinks we owe them 300 plus for this month. No one should have to pay a car payment for their gas and electric. Unfortunately they have a monopoly in our area so we cannot do anything. Terrible company, and sadly they are taking advantage of all of the Evansville area. The example of corporate greed.

Jennifer Lovett (aka 이애주): I would give this place zero stars if it was possible. I called customer service first thing in the morning and received a message that the wait time would be 3.5 - 5.5 hours even though the office just opened. I received a call back from a man that was clearly inebriated considering that he could barely make out a complete sentence. He then without notice transferred me to a woman who cannot assist anyone living in Indiana apparently, who then transferred me to another woman who also cannot assist anyone living in Indiana and she then transferred me to a man who cannot assist anyone living in Indiana. I have now been sitting on hold for over an hour with no sign that anyone will ever be picking up the line again. The only mildly professional person I've spoken to is the last gentleman who is now ghosting me. This is a complete dumpster fire of a call center and the customer service is non existent. They might as well not have a call center since it's not doing anything for the customers anyways.

Pressure needs to be put on public officials with oversight on these thieving companies. Vote them out of office if they don't act against them and in favor of the citizens.

They wana take their expansions and upgrade cost out of the customers because they get away with it. That's how all companies work. Been in my house 8 years and I went from less than 250 to 560 and keep my thermostat at 72 All year round. If we could go with another company we would. They need to do something beside rip us off because getting to yhe point do I make a payment or my mortgage. That's the world we live in now. Hiking prices doesn't make them more money just makes it harder for customers to use thier services. Management will see this post and know I'm right and will care less. The entire city of evansville can speak up and agree with me and center point will hide behind excuses to keep services high. They also understand that everyone will pay the bill even if it means cutting out groceries making another bills late has no effect on themSo enjoy the high rising bills from centerpoint and excuses as to why your bill is higher when you know you manage your energy responsibly.

My wife and I are on budge billing and not one time all the time I’ve called into Center Pointe Energy did one agent tell me before we disconnected that I would have to pay the actual bill. I thought the whole purpose of budget billing was to pay lower. The reps are extremely rude along with the manager. If you hear this company name run… I lived in a two bedroom apartment and I was paying $254!!! I live in a 3 bedroom house in Owensboro and I just paid $181. These people price gouge and they’re greedy.

Bret Grimes: Add me to the litany of people disappointed with this company. I needed power and gas turned on at my apartment building. I specifically asked to be called ahead of time so that I can be on site to give the technician access. Power was turned on at the first request, but I received no call.After checking the building I noticed gas was not turned on.I rescheduled again reiterating the need to be contacted a half hour before so that I can be on site and give centerpoint building access. The date comes and goes no show. Another call into centerpoint another date given and another no show.Today on attempt 3 the customer service rep acknowledges the tech put in the notes knocked and no one was home and cancelled the ticket. Ignoring the notes that are in the ticket to call ahead of time.The one thing I can say is the customer service reps have all been friendly and helpful. I feel bad that they have to take the brunt of poor service from the field.

matthew hardin: I called on a Friday to have service started. I was told they would be out Monday. Monday evening no call and no show. Checked my place on Tuesday evening and same thing. I had to call them again to schedule for that Wednesday. The gentleman I spoke to said he didn't know why no one showed up. It is common courtesy to at least call.
Brandon Hoover: I cannot stand this company (or monopoly). I used budget billing and racked up a $900 credit on my account. I cancelled budget billing and requested a check for the credit. They said the credit had to remain on my account until I cancelled my service (which I can't do due to the whole monopoly thing). If it were the other way around (if I owed them money), they require immediate payment. So they don't treat their customers the way they want to be treated.
Mys Katt: Apparently Newburgh no longer deserves a paysite. My dad has payed his bill at Walmart or Schnucks for over 2 years, and suddenly neither is an authorized paysite. In fact, the ONLY paysite in Warrick County is in Boonville. They want your money so badly that they make it more difficult to pay it?! Didn't bother to notify Warrick County residents either. This is a terrible company and they have us with no other choice since they have a monopoly on gas and electric in the area. SHAME ON YOU VECTREN!!!
