Tim Dawson: I went in to the store looking for nothing other than catfood and one of the younger gals that work there told me that t bones were on sale, so I said give me 2 plz. I didn't watch her pack them but when I got home to prep for grill one was Brite red and the other was a darker color which I'm like ok still looks ok but then I smell an unpleasant smell coming from it so I examine it closer and there is a really dark gray spot on it. It was the smell that was bothering me so I decided to go back to the store and ask for another. I was in no way rude and completely respectful when I presented the meat to the butcher but it must have hurt his feelings by me saying the meet was bad because he was really rude saying there was absolutely nothing wrong with the meat and now he had to throw it away trying to make me feel like this was my fault. I was pretty disappointed and wasn't going to let the meat stop me from returning but the butcher did instead.

Corey R: What a great addition to Fort Wayne. Super friendly staff and a wonderful selection of middle eastern and Eastern European fare. I found Serbian treats, awesome meat and pickle selection as well as tons of candies and sweets. They also have a home section with textiles and I even found grilling / bbq equipment unique to some of the cultural food preparation techniques. This will definitely become a perennial stop for me, especially because the spice selection, tea selection and high quality extra virgin olive oil.

Doxie Colene Cruz: I love coming here for the selection of Spices they have, it's enormous and at honestly reasonable prices. Also my Egyptian boyfriend enjoys thier frozen flat breads and frozen soups. The staff are always very friendly and very very courteous. Often I buy lamb meat here but they also have chicken. They have a great array of sweets from different countries, and I also love the big jars of pickles. The store is always reasonably clean. They also offer unique kitchen ware and household items such as huge tapestry like carpets, and gorgeous bedding. Definately a great place to at least try once; although I'm positive that you'll want to come back.

Amina Bam: This is NOT a halal market. It is an ethic market (Arab/Bosnian focus) with a some halal items. The only halal products I purchase here have to be clearly marked by the manufacturer because all associates tell you "everything is halal" when it CLEARLY isnt. I've seen the bags of fresh chicken, they are currently "Mar-Jaq" brand and ARE 100% halal however the cured meats and salami in the fridges are not (unless marked by manufacturer). The market has the BEST selection of household items. Our family is Pakistani and Bosnian so it's great to pick up kitchen essentials and gifts here. I also think their prices are pretty reasonable for the housewares. Last but not least they have bulk spices & grains, I've never purchased them but definitely worth looking into.

I usually see healthier alternative foods when ever we shopp here.The carry out and or take out food is prepared in front of you and we also prefer the twelve inch beef or chicken kabob sandwiches over other meals in the area.

David Current: Excellent place for $5.99 foot long sandwiches. Not like the big chain Sub shop on every corner that only gives you 3 thin slices of pre-cut meats, that all taste the same... Lake Avenue Halal Market slices the meat fresh after you order it. There is no pork in a Halal market, so you can not get a ham & cheese, nor bacon on anything. But they have a nice selection of different turkey meats instead of just one. Look at my pictures! I ordered 4 foot longs on Sunday afternoon 10252020. They were excellent sandwiches.They have a bunch of spices that you can't find anywhere else. I get bulk cardamom, fenugreek, turmeric, and many others spices here in plastic to go bowls with lids at very reasonable prices. It worth a trip across town to go here.They have a lot of candy and sodas for the local kids, but they also have Lebanese candy and drinks. Many brands that are not available anyplace else in this area.
