Casey Wright: I Love this pool!!!!! I Love💗 Northside Pool🌊❤ 😎☀️ It is The Best❤ and has everything!!!! It has a pool, slides, a splash pad, diving board, and rock climbing wall. Plus, outdoor yard where you can lay out on the grass!!!! It is kept very clean here and the staff is very nice, kind, and friendly!!!! The bathrooms have showers, changing rokms/spaces, and bathroom. It is The Best here and gas everything!!!! Plus, there is a lot of space here which makes it nice and even better. This pool is better than Jury Pool because it has more and is less packed, Jury Pool is way too crowded!!!! Plus, I Love💗 how it is close to my house and has awesome pricing!!!! 💘

The lessons are amazing too I used to take them and I now do competitive swim! Love the staff they are very cautious of the patrons in the pool and make sure everyone is being safe. I’ve gone to this pool for years and they never fail to amaze me.

x: Swim lessons here are great. We have classes in other places take them over the years but here they truly focus on them. They teach very well and the kids learn faster that way. They have enough staff to almost count as private individual lessons.The 4 stars is due to the fact that the shower capabilities are very limited with so many kids taking classes and no place to put anything down, not even a single hook for clothes or any dry spot for that matter. There's no place to bring your showering equipment to lie down besides the floor.Another downside for me is the lack of locking options for the restrooms, a curtain just doesn't cut it when little kids open all the curtains when parents can't watch all their kids simultaneously. Imagine as a woman trying to change...And as someone else mentioned before, some more chairs would be great as many elderly people who come with grandkids etc want to be able to sit up besides the ground so that could truly be improved for a small investment with long lasting outcome.

Kerry Coyne: Great swimming venue but it is extremely hot for spectators. Actually almost unbearable. They just need to turn on ventilation system to get air moving. Pool is one of the best we have been to. Better than the Notre dame aquatic center by far. Staff very friendly also. This weekend ventilation working much more comfortable.

Kathy Kincaid: So wow! I'm really impressed with the building and the staff. The staff is extremely helpful. The facility is top notch. It's amazing they can fit so many students in the pool for lessons. I love the setup. Parents and onlookers high above the pool and out of the way of the athletes. The carpeted covered concrete bleachers are actually not bad. I've been on wooden bleachers for shorter times and my butt would be hurting. Very roomy and quite comfortable in temperature.

Michael Snively: I run here on the track and my children do swimming lessons here.Some of the reviews that complain about other patrons not being talkative and rude baffle me. I'm not there to talk to you. I'm there to run. Why are you going to a gym to talk to people?Track is nice and long (other Ys will have many more laps per mile, this is 8 laps per mile) and mostly people follow the rules. Only ever completely smashed into one person who decide to step into the running lane with no warning.Swimming lessons are good too, no complaints.I read through many of the critical comments and disregarded many, but I could definitely see the summer camps being a drag. I see the kids while I run and they don't look like they're having the times of their lives.
Nick McLay: I have been a member on and off here for a good 20 years. I have been working out extensively for the past six months on a near daily basis. The facility is quite nice. The equipment is decent but most of it is showing severe signs of age. Having said that, the employees are pretty much silent. I’ve never even been greeted when I come in. I have never been offered assistance of any kind. When I have asked for assistance I usually get a blank stare with some sort of statement about how that’s not that person’s job or they don’t know. The other patrons are also pretty much silent also. There is no real communication anywhere here. A lot of attitude. If you walk in and the place is packed with middle school and high school kids you might as well just turn around and leave. Also, Jorgensen Y has been increasing their prices exponentially for quite a long time and I feel it has gone quite far beyond the value proposition I would expect. I have some workout equipment at home and I just spent another few hundred dollars to round out my equipment so I can work out from home. I’ll be canceling my membership again because the value proposition just isn’t there for me.
Lisa Hoekje: Outdoor pool accessibility has been horrible this year. Poor communication about required pool reservations, between each session guests have to stand in line and wait on the sidewalk and pavement in the heat for up to 15 minutes even when there are less than 30 guests at the pool in the session prior. And most disappointing of all they have essentially closed for the last two weeks of summer due to staffing shortages.
E M: Very beautiful facility BUT I felt so uncomfortable there, people were very rude unwelcoming and it showed we walked the track and I spoke to almost everyone I saw and no one replied not a one, it was so unsettling. I wanted to bring my whole family but decided to check out our first and I'm glad I did because this place is not a family friendly place at all. So disappointed ALSO we went to the pool it said pool closed but there were people swimming in the pool we asked how was the pool closed and there were people in there and we were ignored. I guess only certain people were allowed in the pool but there were young and old people swimming. The people there are rude to only us because we weren't "their kind of people" it was sad to know there are people in this world that are so hateful and immature.

Evelyn B: 4-20-22 I dropped my kids off to go workout. It was around 6:40-7:55. I am really displeased by the child care room tonight. My 2 year old son didn’t make it to the bathroom in time & wet his pants. No one notified me. Instead of calling me they just let him walk around in soaking wet bottoms. I asked my oldest who is 9 how long had he been wet and she said for a while. Why wouldn’t the staff let me know? That the reason they want to know where I’m at and my phone number just in case anything happens right? Not only is that lazy but also shows they just didn’t care! The pants were light color so of course his wet pants were very noticeable. Then what makes it worse the same child watcher snatches a toy from my 2 year old as he was leaving. She didn’t nicely ask for they toy, she just snatched it out of his hands. I live right behind Jorgensen but I always go to Lehman. Lehman has never treated my son so poorly. Management should really talk to their staff. It was disgusting to know my child was treated so poorly.

Stee Weaver: I've never had an issue here until today which appeared to be after school. Usually a great place to work out in relative peace. I ran track today and almost plastered a kid who was going the wrong way. Right when I got up to the track I was met with loud f bombs and kids hitting each other, security doors triggering, etc. Seriously the volume hurt my ears. I'm all about kids being kids, but I want to work out not go through bs. It appears teens and kids just get dropped off for babysitting like the old malls as it's "safe." Whatever, I'll prolly just make sure to go in the morning to be able to work out without fear of kids running into me. No one says anything, so I said something both to the kids and the staff.

kyle weese: I wore slip ons in the weight area because I wanted to do deadlifts in socks. Two employees got very angry with me and one of them threatened to call the police if I didn't leave... because I did my back exercises in what they think are the wrong shoes. This place is a joke.I've been lifting here for years and never had an issue wearing slip ons. The parkview ymca is way better. The steam room, sauna, weights, and pool is higher quality there. And the employees are nice there and greet with a smile.

Sarah Kosinski: We have been members for a year. We have not once seen the indoor slide at the pool open. I personally have never seen the big slide open at the outdoor pool. We joined for our children, and as this being a main amenity for them, it's very misleading and disappointing to see that what was told to us, is not accurate.Additionally, My son attended a weekday summer camp (m-f) and was so miserable that week that I canceled our remaining camps. They never did anything they said they were going to do, a ton of sitting around and missed multiple pool sessions because of lack of planning on the counselors part.
Julie Korpilahti: Nice place. Fun for the kids. Suggestion on the seating in the shade. What about a sign that says "PLEASE. Don't reserve chairs in the shade unless ALL guests are also sitting in the shade and not swimming" There was only 2 umbrellas, and all chairs were reserved with towels, but not a single person sitting. I get burned easy, and needed a shade spot.
Jonathan Derr: My son has been playing basketball through the youth program at the Jorgensen Y for years and always had a great experience.However, this particular season is terribly unorganized. The basketball game is much more physical than it should be for a group of 6-8 year old's and the ref was more interested playing on his phone than watching the game. Whoever is running the program changed the times of the last 3 or 4 games of the season and as a result we will miss the remaining games due to scheduling conflicts. We've definitely noticed a difference in the organization of the program this year. This season has been disappointing.
Nelson M: Landmark reviewWe come here weekly for my son's swim classes and the parking situation is crazy. There is usually no parking at all and if the adjacent park is closed for the season I have no idea where you are suppose to put your car. This is the one major downside of this location. The facility themselves are quite clean albiet crowded at times on the weekend. There isn't too many places to sit down and wait for your kids to finish class. The pool itself is also smaller than other pools we have been to at other YMCA in Illinois. Overall I am happy we have not gotten a YMCA membership as it is not cheap and I can only imagine how it continues to be very crowded during the course of the week.

City Pools will begin the process of closing this week as staff prepare to go back to school. Due to this loss of seasonal staff, there will no longer be the required number of certified lifeguards needed to operate the pools safely.
The final day to enjoy the Aquatic Centers at McMillen Park and Bob Arnold Northside Park will be Saturday, August 5, for normal public swimming from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. They will close for the season at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
The nine area Water Playgrounds will remain open until further notice.
Learn-to-Swim is offered in conjunction with the American Red Cross and adheres to national standards for Red Cross aquatic programs.

Shenice Robinson: Not a welcoming environment at all! The members and the staff are rude. I mainly frequent the Jorgensen location which has one of the best cultures and environments. This location is TERRIBLE! I took a Sunday Yoga class here and a member let the door go right in my face, the staff at the front desk were unpleasant and when I walked into the class the instructor didn’t speak at all! She spoke to other members walking in though. I have taken cycling with Aleasa and she is the BEST, but that’s early morning on Saturdays! If I’m not going to her class I won’t be using this facility, and sadly I feel like this is exactly how they want it at this location. They make sure you feel like you don’t belong.

Coni Thompson: Best ymca facility I've been to in 3 states! Always clean and in good repair. Never was too crowded. They do have lots of children's activities so there are certain times to avoid if you dont like the bustle of many children. Jacuzzi best around. Various adult activities to enjoy.
Tiffany Harris: We had a terrible experience with our kids. Went to go swimming and teenage boys kept throwing balls at us and jumping on us. The lifeguards did nothing…. Then a family came whose kids were so rude and unpleasant. My kids wouldn’t get back in the water Bc of them. And again…. The lifeguards don’t do anything about it. We’ve been to the Jackson Y and the lifeguards there do such a great job and it’s always enjoyable. A family who saw how my kids were being treated so it’s always that way at this Y. So sad… truly not worth it, especially for the money you have to pay for a membership.
Rindy Schlatter: I go to this Y for the pool and can always find the space I need to do water exercises - just stick to the schedule. The water is a bit warmer than others (exception is the heated pool on St Joe). Unfortunately, the hot tub is almost always full. The staff are always friendly and ready to help.

Nelson Ross-Miller: Mainly go to this Y due to their Hotub.I have seen several times on their ceilings water spots which can turn into mold and are a fire code violation. I recently told a staff member that their was a needle just laying out on the counter in the men’s room. He rudely told me to go get a shirt on and tell the front desk. There lifeguards also don’t check the steam room or sauna that i ever seen.
kyle weese: Very high quality gym. The machines are in great shape and so is the sauna and steam room. Best in FW I reckon. Plus the employees greet with a smile and some have come to know me by name. Great place highly recommend.The only imperfect parts of this gym imo are the hours and the rock wall seems to almost always be closed.

You can not bring in any flotation for kids, eat the concession food at your seats and the goggles that go over your nose are also not allowed. The breaks where 10 minutes long every hour. The whole experience was just very frustrating. I would not recommend this place for anyone that has kids!
